Meet Chalupa — Your New Favorite Snuggle Filling!
Some dogs are adventure buddies. Some are ball-chasing athletes. And some are little nuggets of pure love who believe their rightful place in life is in your lap, under your chin, or curled up in your arms like a tiny, furry chalupa.
Meet Chalupa! At 5 years old and just 7.5 pounds, this adorable Chihuahua mix is the whole enchilada when it comes to companionship.

She’s sweet, affectionate, cuddly, and completely committed to making sure you never have to sit on your couch without a dog attached to you again.
Chalupa isn't just a lap dog. She's a professional lap dog. A world-class snuggler. A champion neck-cuddler. If there were an Olympic event for getting as close to your human as physically possible, this girl would be bringing home the gold.
Her foster mom says Chalupa wants to be “in my skin at all times,” and honestly, we think that's a perfectly reasonable life goal for a 7.5-pound love bug. She has been affectionate since day one, so you won't need to spend weeks earning her trust. Chalupa is ready to love you NOW.
Chalupa's Recipe for the Perfect Day
Breakfast: Wake up whenever her human does. Six in the morning? Fine. Nine in the morning? Even better. Chalupa doesn't believe in alarm clocks, and frankly, neither do we.
Morning activities: Enjoy breakfast, take a little potty walk, then supervise her human's important daily activities. This may involve working from home, drinking coffee, or attempting to do literally anything without a Chihuahua in your lap.
Afternoon entertainment: A little leisurely stroll, some quality cuddle time, and perhaps a spontaneous burst of zoomies. Don't let her small size fool you. Every now and then, Chalupa's inner party animal makes an appearance, complete with wiggles and a tail that simply will not quit.
Evening plans: Dinner, family time, and settling in for a cozy night. Chalupa is happy to watch television with you, keep your lap warm, or curl up against your neck. And when bedtime rolls around? She's perfectly happy to sleep right beside you. A crate is an option if that's what you prefer, but honestly, have you SEEN how tiny she is? That's a whole lot of empty bed going to waste!
Everyone's Invited to the Chalupa Party!
Chalupa is wonderful with people, dogs, and cats. She got along with her foster's small dog and two cats right from the start. She and her canine foster brother, Bear, have become best buddies. They cuddle, play, and even groom each other. It's basically a tiny, furry friendship club, and Chalupa is a founding member.
She can live with children, too! The important thing is that her people understand she's only 7.5 pounds. Older, gentle children who know how to handle a little dog respectfully can be a great match. Tiny humans who might carry her around like a stuffed animal or accidentally treat her like a toy? Not so much. Chalupa deserves loving arms and gentle handling, not an impromptu wrestling match.
And did we mention she could FLY? This little travel-sized sweetheart is wonderful in the car and could be a fantastic companion for someone who wants a dog to take along on adventures. Weekend getaway? Road trip? A little shopping excursion? Chalupa is ready to pack her imaginary suitcase. Just make sure she's safely secured in an appropriate carrier or harness for the ride.
A Few More Things to Love
Chalupa walks nicely on a leash, although she occasionally stops to contemplate the mysteries of the universe. She's mostly house-trained and does best with regular opportunities to go outside. She's not destructive, doesn't chew up your belongings out of boredom, and doesn't dig holes in the yard.
She's also not a big barker!
