Doralee: Tiny Girl, Big Dolly Energy
Rescued from a shelter on Dolly Parton Day, this tiny Chihuahua simply had to get a name worthy of a little Southern charm. Meet Doralee: approximately 8–9 weeks old, about 3 pounds, and already an expert in the fine art of being adored.
She was just five to six weeks old when she came into rescue with her sister, Truvy. After some growing, plenty of snuggling, and a few spirited puppy wrestling matches, Truvy has found her forever home, and now it’s Doralee’s turn for the spotlight. Her foster suspects she may stay under 10 pounds as an adult, though her eventual size is still a best guess.
A Little Sass, a Lot of Sweet
Doralee brings a touch of spice to every scene. She’s the feistier of the two sisters, with plenty to say during playtime and a personality that reaches well beyond her petite dimensions. When the puppy games get going, Doralee provides the commentary.
But underneath that spirited exterior is a very sweet little girl who loves a comfortable place to curl up. She has been known to fall sound asleep in a sling. Even a busy little leading lady needs her beauty rest.
Small Girl in a Big World
Doralee has been fostered in the main area of a busy home, surrounded by everyday noise and household activity. She could be cautious when first venturing outside her puppy pen, taking a moment to assess all that extra space before exploring.
Bigger dogs didn’t intimidate her, and she played well with Mr. Figs, a roughly 12-pound canine friend. She might enjoy a gentle small-dog playmate in her new home, with careful introductions and supervised play appropriate for her tiny size.
Her Kind of Nine to Five
Her foster routine includes three meals a day, puppy playtime, naps, and plenty of opportunities to watch the household bustle around her. Her dream benefits package? Soft beds, snuggly blankets, and a person willing to carry her in a sling when those little legs need a break.
She’s still a baby, so her adopter should be ready to help her learn potty habits, build confidence, and discover the world through positive experiences. She’ll need gentle handling and a thoughtful setup that keeps her very small size in mind.
Ready for Her Starring Role
Doralee’s sister has landed her happy ending, and now this pint-sized performer is ready to become the star of her own family. If you love lively charm wrapped in a sweet, sling-snoozing package, you’ll be getting a tiny companion with plenty of love to give.
Have a spare blanket and an opening for a pocket-sized leading lady? Doralee is ready for her next big role.
