Meet Gator! Gator is a handsome 3-year-old Shepherd/Retriever mix weighing approximately 47 pounds, and this sweet boy is ready to find a family of his own!Gator has a loving personality and enjoys being close to his people. He loves attention and pets, and one of his favorite things is curling up on the couch for a cozy nap. He may want to be right by your side when you first meet him, but once he settles in, his affectionate personality really shines!Gator is doing great with his potty habits and is learning to hold it until he gets outside. He also does well in his crate while his foster mom is at work.

He may whine a little at first, but he eventually settles in.He gets along well with dogs ranging from about 20 to 60 pounds and doesn’t seem to mind cats, making him a potential fit for a multi-pet household.Gator walks on a leash and is making progress, although he can pull a little and would benefit from continued practice with his leash manners. He’d enjoy a home where he can share relaxed evenings on the couch, go for walks, and spend plenty of time with his favorite people.A little about Gator’s health: Gator is fully vetted and ready for adoption. He previously tested positive for Lyme disease and Ehrlichia and completed his prescribed course of antibiotics for both.Gator came to rescue from a rural shelter that was facing a serious space shortage and urgently needed help placing dogs. While Gator himself was not on the euthanasia list, bringing him into foster care helped open a spot for another dog in need.
