Itsy Bitsy: CBC (bloodwork), altered (spayed), inguinal hernia repair (X2); up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm negative, fecal negative, on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention, microchipped

Teenie Weenie: CBC (bloodwork), altered (neutered), tumor excised (left shoulder blade) - benign; ears flushed; up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm negative, fecal negative, on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention, microchipped

Health issues: they each have few teeth (they eat wet and they do like tiny-bite dry food mixed in); they each have age-related issues, i.e., sleep much of the time, slow to get up and get down, some hearing loss (they can see fine); we have them on Nutrical to help with blood sugar due to their size and we do recommend a twice-a-day pea-size dose.

Temperament: quiet (although we have heard Teenie Weenie call for us when we are in another room); sweet, curious of other dogs. Itsy Bitsy gets anxious when fiddling around her face and will mouth to bite, but there are no teeth. Otherwise, she and Teenie Weenie are both very sweet, fragile little dogs.

Energy level: LOW!

Groom needs: low maintenance; however right now, their bodies still look in poor condition. They lived in filth and it shows. Over time and with a clean environment... their skin and coats will improve. We really haven't been able to bathe either one due to their incisions. We hope to do that soon.

Biography: TERRIBLE! Itsy Bitsy and Teenie Weenie (we had no names on intake, so these are names we gave them) came in on September 12th. Here's the low-down. We were contacted by a lady who was contacted by a man whose wife passed away. The husband "doesn't care what happens to them (the dogs), he wants them gone". There were four dogs. He delivered the dogs to the lady who contacted us. All four were in a wire kennel with urine and based upon the urine burns, we believe they probably lived in that kennel or spent a lot of time in that kennel. Nevertheless, we could not take all four but we did figure out a plan for the other two. The two we took in were the tiniest and in the worst shape. They were all very scared. Poor little Teenie Weenie was so thirsty, he was drinking the urine mixed with water at the bottom of the kennel that ALL OF THEM were laying in. We see a lot of bad things... it's just part of what we do, but how can someone pass by an animal in this condition and just go about their day? It just is
unconscionable. We were told they lived in filth (the lady we picked them up from said "you should see the house - they lived in filth"). This is why their skin and coats look so bad. Only time will improve that and yet, sometimes filth stains never go away.

Teenie Weenie had a mass on his right shoulder (removed and is benign) and Itsy Bitsy had two very large hernias (repaired). Both have had everything done and now they are ready for their furever home. Due to their size and age, we can't see separating them. Clearly, we wouldn't have been able to keep all four dogs together if we had taken in all four but these two are tiny and just don't require a whole lot of space or time. We have them set up in a room with washable potty pads, beds and their food and wa
