Here’s Your Quick Peek:
PLEASE ASK FOR JOE'S FULL STORY!! Joe is a medium‑energy, very shy and shut down Terrier mix who is still learning that people can be kind. He came from a hoarding situation and is slowly decompressing. He needs a quiet, patient home that understands nervous rescue dogs and can give him the time he needs to feel safe. She cannot walk on a leash right now and will try to get away.

Please Note: Carolina Poodle Rescue requires a meet and greet where everyone living in the home - all people and all dogs - will come to our farm to meet dogs. This is non-negotiable. Please do not apply if you and your family can't make this commitment.

Energy level: Medium - but only plays with dogs right now.

Joe is very shy and sensitive. He is working on house and crate training and needs slow, gentle introductions to new people. He gains confidence from other dogs and absolutely must have a calm, confident dog in the home to help guide him.

Good with dogs: Yes — must have a confident mentor dog

Good with kids: Not recommended in Joe's home.

Cats: Unknown - Will be tested.

Fun fact: Joe is still shut down, but every tiny step forward — taking a treat, approaching slowly, watching you with curiosity, a tail wag — is a huge victory for him. With time and patience, he will blossom.
