Meet Macey!
Macey is a total sweetheart with so much love to give! She loves other dogs and all animals and is always trying to shower her furry friends with kisses. She enjoys playing with toys, getting belly rubs, stopping to smell the flowers, and soaking up all the attention she can get!
Macey is doing great with her house manners! She is mostly potty trained with only an occasional accident, sleeps quietly in her crate through the night, and knows basic commands. She has even learned to patiently wait her turn for a treat!
Macey does have a ruptured cruciate ligament in one of her back legs that will require surgery. Because she is still growing, our veterinarian would like to give her approximately three more months before performing the surgery to avoid affecting her growth plates, as long as she remains comfortable. In the meantime, she is receiving joint supplements and medication to help manage any discomfort.
There is also a possibility that Macey may need surgery on her other leg in the future, and she will likely develop arthritis at a younger age. Proverbs will cover Macey's necessary surgeries and follow-up appointments with our veterinarian in Dickson, TN. Because of this, her adopter must live locally and be willing to bring her to our vet for her medical care. We are looking for a family willing to work with us to make sure she receives the care she needs and help her through her recovery when the time comes. Macey is such a happy, affectionate girl, and we don't want her medical needs to stand in the way of finding a wonderful home. She has so much love to give and deserves a family who will love her just as much in return!
