MEERKAT kt
Young · Female · Anatolian Shepherd / Mixed

Hello. I'm MEERKAT, and here is a bit of info about me:Breed: Anatolian Shepard mixAge: 3-1/2 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 24 kgHeight: ~ 52 cmCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlights: playful, affectionate, loyal, friendly, toy loverA playful beauty with a spirit that no hardship could break, ready to trade my street-life scars for a toy-filled home in Canada! My life began on the cold streets when I was just a tiny, two-month-old pup.Early on, I learned that the world can be a tough place; I even survived a broken leg caused by someone very unkind.Thankfully, some wonderful humans saved me, but fate had one more test for me, a car hit me and fractured my left front leg right at the joint. After another big surgery and a long, brave recovery, I’ve officially retired from street life.
Now, my only goal is to find a family that will keep me safe and loved forever. You might wonder why they call me Meerkat. Well, just look at me!Not only do I have the 'look,' but I’m just as playful as one, too.I’m honestly a bit toy-obsessed; everything is a game when there’s something to chew on!I’m a friendly girl through and through, and I’ll never miss a chance to shower you with affection.I get along great with other doggie friends, but those 'meowy' kitties? They’re just a little too exciting for me to stay calm around!I’m dreaming of a loving family that enjoys a mix of silly playtime and quiet, cozy snuggles. My doctors say my front elbows might get a bit stiff with arthritis later on, so starting some yummy supplements now will keep me hopping and playing for years to come.I love gentle walks, but long hikes are just too much for me, so let's get some fun toys and play tug!A home without cats would be best, but I’d love to have a dog sibling or some kids to play with, that would be a total dream come true!Watch me shine! https://youtu.be/zZ16qTZ-qw4, https://youtu.be/w4Zf3-0JEpA, https://youtu.be/luedzLl5GHs, https://youtube.com/shorts/7OX5wHccnFM, https://youtube.com/shorts/BrRQQXnn-ocEnergy Level: Medium to Low will need to be enforced with low-intensity activity or short walksI get along with:Dogs: YesCats: NoKids: yesFears: Loud fireworks or lightning. No need to ever remove.Future arthritis supplements are recommended.I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and will be microchipped before arrival. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. While our rescuers always seek a flight without a charge, there is the possibility of a passenger fee, not to exceed $300.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be fo
