Overview

Meet Nick, an adorable 1-year-old, 12-pound black and tan Dachshund. Surrendered by his previous owner, Nick is a wonderfully smart, loving, and affectionate young dog who learns very quickly and is eager to find his forever home.

Environment

Nick has a medium energy level, enjoys daily walks, and is fantastic on a leash. He needs a secure, fenced yard to burn off his energy. He is quiet and well-behaved when left alone for short periods, making him very suitable for apartments or townhomes with shared walls. He does not sleep in the bed; instead, he comfortably sleeps all night downstairs in a 4x4 pen and does really well with it. He is nearly fully house-trained with only rare indoor accidents.

Pets & People

Nick is excellent with other dogs and has no issues with canine companions, though he can be fearful of large dogs. With people, he is exceptionally gentle, deeply loving, and a big cuddler who is friendly with everyone he meets.

Health & Special Needs

Nick is a healthy boy. He eats his meals using a special slowdown bowl and has no other medical needs or special medications. He travels very well in the car.
