1. Dosa
Adult (4 years 11 months) · Female · Shepherd / Mixed (short coat) · 15 mi from Camp Pendleton South

Courtesy post for another rescuer. Please contact allysonart8@gmail.com for more information on Dosa.
Dosa has an incredible story of resilience. She was rescued from a large pack of dogs living in a field in Tijuana, where she and her sister were found in very poor condition. Sadly, her sister did not survive, but Dosa responded beautifully to treatment, good nutrition and lots of care. Since then, she has doubled her weight, grown stronger and gained so much confidence.
Dosa is a 50-pound Shepherd mix with beautiful black and brown coloring. She has medium energy level, is crate trained and very obedient.
Read more about Dosa
She enjoys going for walks and does well on a leash, although she is still learning and improving her skills.
Dosa is a loving, affectionate and social girl who warms up nicely to new people. She enjoys attention and is happy to let children pet her. She also gets along well with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion. Cats, however, are not a good match for Dosa, as she has shown a strong interest in chasing them.
Dosa is currently being fostered in Tijuana, but can be transported anywhere in Southern California.

20. Blue
Adult (3 years) · Male · Labrador Retriever / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (short coat) · 25 mi from Camp Pendleton South

Blue's came to us absolute broken. He lived on the streets of TJ where people passed by yet didn't have a heart to give him a morsel of food to eat. When we found out about him and realized the horrible condition he was in we couldn't turn our backs on him. After proper vetting, medications and healthy food we started to see the blue in his eyes shine. So we named him Blue.
This boy does not have a mean bone in his body, but shelter life is not for any dog especially in TJ. Blue, needs a foster or family to call his own. He needs patience and a loving hand that will help him blossom. Are you that person/family? If so then please apply to foster or adopt Blue at tlck9rescue.org

Adopting a dog in Camp Pendleton South
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
