1. Daisy
Young (3 years) · Female · Dachshund / Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 79 mi from Merced

Meet Daisy!
At just 28 lbs, Daisy is a little bundle of sweetness with a big heart! She’s approximately 2–3 years old, and while her breed is anyone’s guess, her wonderful personality is no mystery.
Daisy is a friendly, social, easygoing girl who loves being around her people. She’s gentle and relaxed with both people and dogs, and has done wonderfully with the dogs she’s met so far. She’s even discovering the fun of playing tug-of-war with her canine friends!
Read more about Daisy
She’s affectionate without being demanding and loves being close to her humans. Belly rubs, cuddles, doggy kisses (she might even try to sneak you a little kiss on the lips!), and simply hanging out together are right up her alley.
Daisy enjoys walks, car rides, running at the park, and rolling around in the grass. She’s also a lovely houseguest: fully potty trained, crate trained, sleeps well through the night, and is beginning to enjoy playing independently with her toys.
She’s not particularly food-motivated and would much rather have your company, but peanut butter, cheese, or a little broth on her kibble can certainly get her attention!
And good news for cat lovers: Daisy has been tested with cats in a home environment and passed her cat test!
Daisy would do well in an active household, with or without another friendly dog. She’s an adaptable, affectionate girl who would love a family to call her own.
If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle, 28-lb companion who will happily share your walks, your couch, and probably a few kisses, Daisy might just be your girl! ❤️

4. Peanut
Puppy · Female · Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat) · 54 mi from Merced

Peanut – Black Female Lab Mix, 12 Weeks Old, 20 lbs.
Meet Peanut – A Little Labby Girl with a Whole Lot of Love!
Peanut is a beautiful black Lab mix who is smart, sweet, playful, and full of that classic Lab personality! At 12 weeks old, she is already showing what a wonderful companion she will be.
Peanut loves everyone, young and old, and gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and even goats of all sizes. She plays with the cats in her foster home and even snuggles with them. She adores her foster family's dogs and would do well in a home with other friendly pets or an active family with children.
This girl is one smart cookie! She sits for her meals and treats, listens well, and is eager to please. She is very food motivated, which should make training a breeze. Peanut is crate trained, goes into her crate willingly, and sleeps through the night.
She is working on potty training and does very well when taken outside frequently. She is learning to respond to her foster family's “potty, potty, potty” cue and heads right to her potty spot. She is also learning leash skills and doing well on walks. Her recall is impressive for such a young puppy, and she stays close to her foster family on their property.
Fetch, squeaky toys, big stuffed animals, and water are some of Peanut's favorite things. She is an active, curious pup who doesn't want to miss a thing! When playtime is over, though, she loves nothing more than snuggling on the couch with her people for a relaxing movie night.
Peanut is growing into a wonderful young girl with all the makings of a fantastic companion. She will need continued training, socialization, and patience as she grows, but her intelligence and eagerness to please make her a delightful puppy to raise.
Could Peanut be the missing piece of your family? If you are ready for puppy kisses, outdoor adventures, playful antics, and plenty of snuggles, this sweet girl is waiting to meet you! Apply at www.labrescuefresno.org

5. Missy
Young · Female · Labrador Retriever / Poodle (unknown type) / Mixed (medium coat) · 54 mi from Merced

Missy – Tan Doodle x, 11 months, 58 lbs.
Looking for a playful, cuddly companion to complete your family? Meet Missy! At just 11 months old and 58 pounds, this girl has plenty of personality and an even bigger heart!
Missy was found as a stray, severely matted and in need of help. Thankfully, she was rescued from the shelter, and now she's ready for her next chapter: finding a family to call her own.
Missy enjoys being close to her people, playing with her toys, and chasing a ball in a good game of fetch. She's still a puppy at heart, with plenty of energy and enthusiasm to share! She's also food-motivated, making continued training a fun and rewarding experience.
Here's what makes Missy a great companion:
Loving and affectionate
Loves toys and playing fetch
Does well with cats
Gets along with both large and small dogs
Very good with children
Crate-trained and house-trained
Knows how to use a doggy door
Food-motivated and eager to learn
At 11 months old, Missy is still learning her manners. She can get excited and jump up to show her enthusiasm, but she's working on keeping all four paws on the floor. She also has a soft mouth. With positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued guidance, she'll keep developing into a wonderful lifelong companion.
What kind of home would make Missy happiest?
Missy would thrive with an active family who includes her in daily adventures, makes time for play, and saves a spot on the couch for snuggles! She would likely enjoy having another friendly dog to keep her company and play with. If she's an only dog, she'd do best with a family who spends plenty of time with her. She wants to be part of family life, not left home alone for long periods.
Missy needs a committed family willing to guide her as she grows, help her learn, and make her a cherished part of the household.
After the rough start she's had, Missy deserves a lifetime of toys to play with, adventures to enjoy, cozy places to nap, and a family she can finally call her own.
Could Missy be the missing piece in your family?

7. Rango
Puppy (6 months) · Male · Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat) · 93 mi from Merced

Meet Rango! Your Next Adventure Buddy!
Hi, I’m Rango, a playful, mischievous little pup with a big personality and a whole lot of love for life! I’m incredibly smart (I even taught myself how to play fetch!) and always ready for a backyard adventure or a good game with my favorite person.
I love making my own fun, whether that means zooming around outside, chasing a ball, or exploring the world around me. And when all that puppy energy runs out? You’ll find me curled up nearby, catching some much-needed Zzz’s.
Read more about Rango
I may not be the biggest cuddle bug, and being held isn’t really my thing, I’m a little too wiggly for that! But I absolutely love being close to my people. I also enjoy the company of other dogs, and treats and mealtime are definitely some of my favorite parts of the day!
My favorite things:
Playing fetch (I’m a natural!)
Running zoomies in the backyard
Hanging out and playing with my person
Sleeping next to my favorite human
Making doggy friends
Treats, snacks, and a good puppy nap
If you’re looking for a clever, fun-loving companion who will keep you smiling and bring plenty of puppy joy into your life, I just might be your perfect match.

9. Gabby
Adult · Female · Labrador Retriever (short coat) · 54 mi from Merced

Gabby – Black Female Purebred Labrador, 6 Years, 67 lbs
Meet Gabby!
If you’re looking for an all-Lab Lab, look no further! Gabby is everything we love about the breed wrapped up in one beautiful, gentle girl. She has the sweetest disposition and simply wants to be with her people.
Gabby is a total foodie and firmly believes that no meal should ever be missed! She loves people of all ages and is wonderfully social with dogs, cats, and even goats. She is gentle, affectionate, and eager to please. Her favorite place is right beside you, soaking up belly rubs, cuddles, and plenty of reassurance that she is, indeed, a very good girl.
And Gabby has some serious Lab fun in her, too! She loves squeaky toys, playtime, fetch, walks, and—oh my goodness—SWIMMING! This girl absolutely loves the water. She has a wonderful recall and is terrific on leash, but she is also a pleasure off leash and will happily walk right alongside you in a natural heel.
Gabby is equally happy enjoying the simple things in life. Most of the time, she is a calm, quiet girl who is perfectly content to relax near her people. But when the other dogs are ready to play, Gabby is more than happy to join in! She also loves going for a stroll or hopping in the car for an adventure. She is excellent in the car and gets in and out like a pro.
Gabby is very much a people dog. She wants to be close to her humans and doesn’t like being separated from them. If you leave her sight, she may bark to let you know that she has noticed your absence and would very much prefer that you come back! ❤️ Because of this, Gabby will need a home where someone is home most of the time. She is looking for people who want a devoted companion who will happily spend her days simply being by their side.
❤️ A note about Gabby's medical care
Gabby has been diagnosed with MG (myasthenia gravis), but we are very happy with how she is doing. She currently presents with no signs of MG and is doing wonderfully on her medication. She receives medication three times a day, and we have begun a carefully monitored diminishing dose. Her most recent bloodwork and titers were all normal.
Her medical needs are something her future family will need to continue managing, but Gabby herself doesn't seem to have gotten the memo that she's supposed to be anything other than a happy, loving Labrador! She is enjoying life, loves her people, loves her dog friends, and is ready for a family who will give her the same devotion she gives them.
Gabby is the kind of Lab who makes you smile just by being in the room. She doesn't need a complicated life—she wants her people, a comfy place to relax, some good food, a belly rub, a walk, a game of fetch, and maybe a swim whenever possible.
If you have room in your heart and home for a sweet, gentle, devoted, fun-loving six-year-old Lab, Gabby would love to meet you. Apply for Gabby at www.labrescuefresno.org

10. Blossom
Young (4 months 28 days) · Female · Unknown breed (short coat) · 93 mi from Merced

Meet Blossom!
Part puppy, part mystery, 100% adorable! We’re not exactly sure what breeds make up Blossom, but she’s keeping that secret to herself! Her DNA may be a mystery, but her personality is definitely not.
Blossom is a happy, playful, spunky puppy who is eager to learn and always ready for her next adventure. She gets along well with dogs of all sizes, does great with cats, walks well on a leash, and even enjoys car rides. Whether it’s playtime, an outing, or simply hanging out with her people, Blossom is ready to have a good time!
Read more about Blossom
She’s also already showing off some impressive skills. Blossom is potty trained, crate trained, and knows how to use a doggy door. And when it comes to training, she has one very important weakness: FOOD! Food, treats, and toys are definitely the way to this girl’s heart. Her love of tasty rewards makes learning new things extra exciting—and makes convincing her that training is fun pretty easy.
But Blossom isn’t all about playtime.
She’s a sweet, social girl who loves attention and, apparently, has a bit of a fashionista side! She absolutely loves dressing up, so her future family better be prepared for some seriously cute photo opportunities.
Blossom is looking for a loving, committed forever family who will continue helping her grow, give her plenty of playtime and guidance, and, of course, provide lots of cuddles.
Her breed may be a mystery, but there’s no mystery about this: Blossom is one special girl who is ready to find her forever family. If you’re looking for a smart, playful, social puppy who’s already off to a fantastic start, Blossom may be your girl!

11. Kenzie
Adult · Female · Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 79 mi from Merced

Meet Kenzie (aka Lyngcha) – A Brave Little Soul Looking for Her Best Friend ❤️
Some dogs wear their hearts on their sleeves. Kenzie who her fosters have been calling Lyngcha had to learn it was safe to have one.
When Kenzie first arrived in foster care, she was completely shut down. She spent weeks hiding in her crate and was too frightened to interact with people or even go outside during the day. Watching her slowly learn to trust has been one of the most rewarding journeys we’ve ever witnessed.
Today, Lyngcha is a happy, playful, affectionate young girl who greets each day with a wagging tail and an adorable smile.
Read more about Kenzie
She absolutely
loves other dogs
and truly thrives with a confident canine companion. Whether she’s wrestling, playing tug-of-war, following her doggy friends around the house, or snuggling up beside them, having another friendly dog helps her feel safe and brings out her joyful personality.
Lyngcha is also very food motivated, making her eager to learn. She’s already picking up basic commands and is excited to keep learning with her future family.
She loves going for walks and approaches every adventure with puppy-like enthusiasm, taking in all the exciting smells and sights. New environments can still be a little overwhelming at first, but with patience, encouragement, and another dog by her side, her confidence continues to blossom.
Once Lyngcha bonds with her people, she’s an absolute sweetheart. She loves curling up close, resting her head on you, and soaking up affection. Her foster family even nicknamed her
“Froggie”
because of her adorable little hops whenever she’s excited—especially at mealtime!
Lyngcha has never shown any aggression. She’s simply a gentle soul who needs a little time to feel safe before showing you just how loving she truly is.
Lyngcha’s Ideal Home
• A patient family that will let her settle in at her own pace.
• A confident, playful resident dog to help her continue building confidence.
• Daily walks, lots of love, and plenty of cuddle time.
• A home that understands shy dogs and celebrates every little victory.
The frightened girl who once hid in a crate has transformed into a loving companion with so much life ahead of her. She may not run into your arms on day one—but if you give her your patience and your heart, she’ll give you hers forever.
If you’re looking for a loyal best friend and believe that the greatest love stories are worth waiting for, Lyngcha just might be your perfect match.
We’d love for you to meet Lyngcha!
If you’ve been thinking about opening your heart and home to a new furry family member, we’d love to learn more about you and your household. Please fill out our adoption application, and let’s see if you and Lyngcha might be a wonderful match. ❤️

15. Clifford
Adult · Male · Labrador Retriever (short coat) · 54 mi from Merced

Clifford – Yellow Male, 3 years old, 95 pounds
Clifford is a BIG yellow boy with an even bigger heart.
This handsome guy first stumbled onto someone’s property in Visalia as a stray. No one came looking for him, (surprise, surprise) and he eventually made his way to LRRF. It quickly became apparent that something was very wrong with his right eye—it was bulging, and we knew he needed immediate medical attention.
A specialist confirmed that Clifford’s eye needed to be removed, and he underwent surgery. Thankfully, he seems to be seeing better and is clearly feeling much more comfortable now that the painful eye is gone.
Unfortunately, Clifford has a hereditary eye disease that means there is a possibility he could eventually lose vision in his remaining eye. We know that may sound scary, but Clifford doesn't know he's supposed to feel sorry for himself. He is simply happy to be loved, included and part of a family.
And what a sweetheart he is. ❤️
Clifford is playful, affectionate and loving. He gets along wonderfully with people and other dogs, and even ignored the cats in the home of the Good Samaritan who found him. He's great with children, too. He's a little clumsy at times, but honestly, that's just part of his charm.
He enjoys going for walks and would benefit from having a confident, friendly helper dog in his forever home as he continues to adjust to his vision changes. He is crate trained and house trained.
What Clifford needs most is someone who will see Clifford—not his eye.
Someone who will look past the medical issue and recognize the wonderful dog standing right in front of them. A dog who wants to love you, your family, your dogs, your cats and simply be part of your life.
We truly believe Clifford will make an exceptional companion for the right family.
He doesn't need someone to feel sorry for him.
He needs someone willing to love him. And Clifford has plenty of love to give right back.
Could you be the person who sees Clifford for the amazing boy he is? Apply for Clifford www.labrescuefresno.org

Meet our little rescue dog. After talking to the Cat House neighbors it appears he was dumped. Staff immediately scooped him up and whisked him away to the vets. Once at the vets, we learned someone used him as target practice. We couldn't believe someone would do this to this gentle kind dog. Regardless of the abuse he's encountered, he's a really sweet dog. He's about 20-25 pounds and fairly young. Little Black Dog hangs out all day with about 30 cats, a small resident dog, and also visits with the senior dog Buster. He's learning how to walk on a harness leash and happy to report he's making great progress.

18. Poppy Seed
Young (2 years) · Female · Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 79 mi from Merced

Poppy Seed is a sweet, smart, athletic girl who's a little shy with strangers at first, but given space, time, and a few treats, she'll warm up to you soon enough.
She's a wonderful communicator and will offer a soft growl when she needs space, which is just her polite way of asking for a minute. Once she's warmed up to you at her own pace, she's all in. Affectionate, playful, and convinced she deserves a seat at the dinner table. She already knows "sit," is learning "down," gives the gentlest "paw," walks great on leash, and loves her crate as a cozy, safe space.

Poppy will do best in a home with older kids or adults who are committed to teaching her simple and useful cues and life skills throughforce-free, positive-reinforcement training methods. Training is not just for her. It's for humans too. Using positive reinforcement and force-free methods, you'll build real trust together, and she'll learn that responding to your cues is rewarding and fun.
Pair that with the right enrichment, snuffle mats, food puzzles, and scent games where she sniffs out hidden treats, and you've got a recipe for a confident, calmer pup. All that sniffing and foraging settles her nerves, every little win boosts her confidence, and problem-solving alongside you deepens your bond.
She's an athletic adventure buddy who loves romping with other dogs, playing fetch, and then happily curls up for snuggles afterward. She'll bark at odd sounds like any good watchdog, but settles right back down once you've checked it out. If you're looking for a thoughtful, loving companion who'll grow more confident with you by her side, Poppy Seed is your girl.

19. Maisy
Adult (8 years 2 months) · Female · Chihuahua / Dachshund / Mixed (medium coat) · 81 mi from Merced

Maisy
is an incredibly sweet, affectionate dog who is a joy to have around. She loves being part of whatever you're doing and quickly wins people over with her fun, social personality.
Energy Level?
Medium. Maisy has bursts of playful "mountain goat" energy and enjoys exploring, but she's equally happy relaxing with a sunny spot for a nap.
House-trained?
Mostly. Maisy does well about going outside to potty but has had some accidents on the rugs
, so her foster has found it easiest to keep those picked up while she continues to build good habits.
Read more about Maisy
Describe how they are on leash?
Maisy walks well on leash and enjoys getting out for walks and adventures.
Describe how they are with other dogs?
When meeting new dogs, Maisy may bark or lunge initially, but once she has a chance to settle in and become comfortable, she does well and enjoys canine companionship.
Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they?
Yes. Maisy has lived with a cat, whom she happily ignores, and she gets along very well with another dog in her foster home.
Commands they know?
Maisy is still learning her basic commands and is currently working on "sit," "off," and "quiet." She's eager to learn with positive reinforcement.
What are their favorite things?
Attention, affection, affection, affection,
food (especially treats!), walks, and spending time with her people. She also enjoys social outings after she's had a little time to check out her surroundings.
What do they need to work on?
Maisy is continuing to learn her basic manners and commands. Like many curious dogs, she'll occasionally help herself to shoes or laundry if they're left within reach, so she'll benefit from continued training, puppy proofing, and management.
How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone?
Maisy does well when left alone. She is crated for up to four hours at a time, typically no more than a couple of days each week, and handles it well.
Where do they sleep?
Maisy sleeps comfortably in her crate.
What is their ideal home?
Maisy is a wonderfully adaptable dog who would fit into many different types of homes. She has done well with dogs and cats, and while she hasn't been around children yet, her sweet, social nature suggests she could do well with a family willing to give her a proper introduction. Whether it's a single person, a couple, or a family, Maisy will thrive with people who enjoy including her in their daily lives and can provide moderate exercise, continued training, and lots of love. She's an easygoing, affectionate companion who forms strong bonds and will make a wonderful addition to a lucky family.

20. Kiwi
Adult (3 years 4 months) · Female · Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 79 mi from Merced

Meet 3+ year old Kiwi! FOSTER TO ADOPT
Kiwi is a sweet, affectionate bully mix with a playful streak and a heart full of love for her people. Tennis balls are the pinnacle of canine joy as far as she's concerned, and she'll happily fetch one for you (though "drop it" is still under negotiation). When she's not playing, she's nuzzling up close for quality cuddle time.
Read more about Kiwi
She's adjusting beautifully to indoor life. She's figured out the doggie door for potty breaks, isn't destructive around the house, and enjoys her growing collection of plush toys, chews, and food puzzles. She shares her treasures without fuss and settles nicely in a crate when someone's home. A few things she's still working on: resisting the urge to attempt a crate escape when left alone, and accepting that snacks left on counters are not, in fact, generous offerings from the universe. Counter surfing is her sport of choice, so kitchen vigilance is a must.
Kiwi is a reliable alert barker, letting you know about doors and footsteps like a small furry doorbell. Out in the world, she's friendly with people and other dogs, loves her car rides, and is wonderful on beach and trail adventures.
If you're looking for a loving, playful companion who's eager to learn new and useful life skills through force-free and positive reinforcement training methods, then she's ready to give you her whole heart.

Bringing a dog home to your cat
Tell the rescue about your cat: their age and how they react to dogs. A dog who has lived calmly with one cat may still want to chase a cat that runs.
Introduce them slowly. Keep them apart for the first few days and swap bedding so they get used to each other's scent, then let them meet with the dog on a leash, rewarding calm behavior.
Make sure the cat can always get somewhere the dog can't reach, like a high shelf or a room behind a baby gate, and keep the litter box and cat food out of the dog's way.
