3. Sullie

Adult (1 year 6 months) · Male · Poodle (Standard) / Mixed (long coat) · 49 mi from Palm Coast

Meet Sullie!

There is so much to this giant Muppet Baby! At approximately 1 1/2yo and 52.6 lbs, this giant ball of fur-love doodle is eager to be the best boy there is, and always an adventure side kick.

Sullie loves everyone and everything! He is in love with his foster cats. He adjusts accordingly and truly wants their companionship. If your home is equipped with a dog-friendly cat - they will be the absolute best of friends. He is a sweet and gentle dude thirsty for all of your attention.

Read more about Sullie

His favorite treats so far are duck and freeze dried chicken hearts. Sullie adores sunbathing on the cooler days, and he loves the wind in his hair. He loves balls, and is conquering fetch and let go. He is content being under feet, being rubbed - alllllll dayyy long.

Sullie does have a vocal side where he becomes chatty with his foster family. He occasionally herds them, and gives little love nips. Sullie is dog friendly and is learning that his giant stature approach must go slow. Cats are his bees knees. As long as they accept him, we are confident on a solid respectful friendship.

Sullie is still learning to be crated, though not a big fan - he is adjusting and getting the hang of it. He loves having Peter Frampton serenade him while he hones his crating skills during the day. He rides in the car like a boss, is house trained and will sit at the door signaling the need to go out. He is amazing on leash, and listens to all cues on his walks.

This big fluff ball is the most chill guy mixed with the occasional playful spurt or nightly zoomies. A fenced yard would be appreciated by him to give chase to the squirrels that tempt him. He hasn't been around a kid under 10, and since he doesn't quite understand his size, a close eye would be a must.

Sullie is truly an awesome pal to have around. As a doodle, he will need regular brushing and grooming to keep his coat free of mats. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe that Sullie would be a great forever fit for your family, complete an app and tell us more about you.

4. Emmett

Adult (1 year 6 months) · Male · Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat) · 49 mi from Palm Coast

Meet Emmett — A Little Love Bug with Soulful Eyes! 17.5 pounds | Approximately 1.5 years old | Chihuahua mix

Don’t let Emmett’s serious little face fool you — underneath those soulful caramel eyes is the sweetest, most affectionate love bug you could ever hope to meet! This adorable 17½-pound Chihuahua mix is happiest when he’s curled up in a lap, snuggled in someone’s arms, or peacefully snoozing nearby. He has a mellow, easygoing personality and low-to-moderate energy, making him a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a dog who is just as content relaxing at home as he is exploring the world at his own pace.

Read more about Emmett

Emmett has a gentle, sweet disposition that makes him a joy to have around. He gets along well with other dogs, including his slightly larger foster sibling, although he isn't particularly interested in roughhousing or playing. He has also done well around cats so far. He mostly ignores them and has shown no aggression, making him a promising candidate for a home with feline friends. He's a quiet little gentleman, too! Emmett isn't much of a barker, even when someone knocks at the door, and he rides beautifully in the car. He's so mellow and tolerant that he doesn't even mind having his nails trimmed.

At night, he sleeps comfortably in his own bed, and when left alone, he settles down quietly and behaves himself. He's also discovering the fun of toys and seems especially fond of soft, squeaky ones. Emmett is still learning a few things and will need a patient adopter willing to help him continue building good habits. He is doing great with his house training since he was neutered. He's also learning to walk on a leash, although his walks currently involve a fair amount of stopping and starting as he figures things out.

The good news? Emmett is a sweet, easygoing little guy who seems eager to enjoy the comforts of home. He has no known medical issues, and his loving nature makes him incredibly easy to adore. And when he's not snuggling in your lap, you might find him fast asleep on his back with all four legs sticking straight up in the air — an absolutely irresistible sight!

Emmett is looking for a loving home where he can be cherished for the affectionate, gentle little soul he is. If you're hoping for a loyal companion who will happily keep your lap warm, offer endless sweetness, and bring a little extra love into your everyday life, Emmett may be your perfect match. Those caramel eyes and that beautiful heart just might steal yours!

5. Milo

Adult (3 years) · Male · Terrier / Mixed (medium coat) · 49 mi from Palm Coast

NOTE: Milo and Miss Mitt are bonded and must be adopted together

Milo is an approx. 3-year-old, 7 1/2lb. terrier mix with the sweetest soul and the most adorable puppy-dog eyes. This mellow little sweetheart has perfected the art of melting hearts just by looking at you. His favorite place to be is curled up on your lap, snuggled beside his human, or joining you for a nice, cozy nap. If your idea of a perfect day involves cuddles, affection, and a little furry shadow following you around, Milo may be your dream companion.

Read more about Milo

While Milo is a pretty laid-back guy, he also enjoys getting out and about with his people. He loves car rides, trips to the pet store, visits to the park, and, of course, a special pup cup along the way. He’s a smart little guy who learns quickly and is very receptive to training. He also walks beautifully on a leash, making him a wonderful little walking companion. Milo is mostly happy to take life at a relaxed pace, but he has a playful side, too.

One of the most special things about Milo is his bond with his best girl, Miss Mitt. These two absolutely adore each other. They love chasing each other around the house and outside, and Miss Mitt has a magical way of bringing out Milo’s playful side and getting those zoomies going. When they aren’t busy playing, you can usually find them cuddled up together. At night, they love snuggling in bed with their humans. Their bond is truly something special, and they must be adopted together.

Milo is incredibly sweet and gentle with children and doesn’t pay much attention to cats. He is also friendly with other dogs and has a very easygoing nature. He really is just a little lover who wants to make friends and soak up affection. Milo is crate trained and can stay in his crate when his humans leave the house. He will use pee pads during the night if he needs to go, and will go potty outside as long as he is taken out often.

Milo’s dream family is one that LOVES affection as much as he does. We’re talking lots of pets, cuddles, hugs, cozy naps, and plenty of quality time with his favorite people. He would thrive with a family who wants a loving little companion by their side and understands that the best part of having a dog is all the love you get to share. And, of course, his family must be ready to welcome his beloved Miss Mitt, too. Milo and Miss Mitt have so much love to give and are hoping to find a forever family who will cherish them both. They do have a little separation anxiety, so we want someone who is home more often than not, and apartment living would not be suitable for them because they can be a little barky for a short while when their people leave. They are not destructive though. We are not requiring a fenced yard, but they would love to have a secure area to run around and play in. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and think these two sweethearts might be the perfect fit for your family, complete an adoption application and tell us more about you. Milo promises to bring the puppy eyes, the cuddles, and a whole lot of love into your life!

6. Miss Mitt

Adult (3 years) · Female · Terrier / Mixed (long coat) · 49 mi from Palm Coast

NOTE: Miss Mitt and Milo are bonded and must be adopted together

Miss Mitt is an approx. 3-year-old, 7 1/2lb. terrier mix with a BIG personality packed into her little body! This spunky, happy-go-lucky girl has a way of making everyone smile. Whether she’s racing around the house with the cutest zoomies or showering her favorite people with kisses, Miss Mitt brings so much joy wherever she goes. If you’re looking for a little companion who will keep you laughing and fill your days with love, this girl might just be your perfect match.

Read more about Miss Mitt

Miss Mitt is full of energy and loves to play, especially with children! She is incredibly affectionate with kids, loves running around and playing catch with them, and is even happy to be held and give out plenty of kisses. When playtime is over, she’s just as happy to cuddle up with her human for some quality snuggle time. She truly has the best of both worlds: a playful little firecracker who also loves to be loved on.

Miss Mitt has a very special bond with her best friend, Milo, and these two are a package deal. She absolutely adores him and loves cuddling up to him, giving him kisses, and chasing him around the house and yard. She even has a way of bringing out Milo’s playful side and getting his zoomies going, which is just the cutest thing to watch. At the end of the day, they love snuggling up together with their humans. Their bond is incredibly sweet, and they must be adopted together.

Miss Mitt doesn’t pay much attention to cats, so feline friends are generally no big deal to her. She can be a little cautious and occasionally feisty around other dogs, though, so slow introductions and thoughtful management will be important.

She is currently working on her leash manners, as she gets so excited about her walks that she sometimes wants to pull ahead and pick up the pace. With a little guidance, she can be redirected, and she does well walking alongside Milo. Miss Mitt is crate trained and does well staying in her crate when her humans leave the house. She may be a little vocal at first, but she settles down. At night, she and Milo love to snuggle up and sleep in bed with their humans. She will use pee pads during the night if she needs to go, and will go potty outside as long as she is taken out often. She does great riding in a car.

Miss Mitt is looking for a loving family who will embrace her fun-loving personality, give her plenty of opportunities to play, and make room for lots of cuddles and kisses. Most importantly, she needs a family with room in their hearts for both her and Milo. These two have so much love to give and are ready to find a forever home where they can continue being best friends for life. They do have a little separation anxiety, so we want someone who is home more often than not, and apartment living would not be suitable for them because they can be a little barky for a short while when their people leave. They are not destructive though. We are not requiring a fenced yard, but they would love to have a secure area to run around and play in. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe Miss Mitt and Milo might be the perfect additions to your family, complete an adoption application and tell us more about you. 7. Puzzle

Adult (3 years) · Male · French Bulldog (short coat) · 49 mi from Palm Coast

Meet Puzzle.

Puzzle is a handsome 2 to 3-year-old, 23lb. boy who is looking for someone special to help him put all the pieces together. Puzzle came into rescue as an underweight stray, so we don’t know much about his past, but he’s been showing us more of his sweet personality every day. Puzzle is a medium-to-low-energy guy who enjoys a good balance of playtime and relaxation. He’s affectionate, enjoys head and neck scratches, and really just wants to be loved. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, and sleeps through the night.

Read more about Puzzle

Puzzle does great on a leash and knows exactly what his harness and leash mean. He’s always ready to get dressed for an adventure. He also absolutely LOVES car rides and is a fantastic passenger.

Puzzle is dog-friendly but does best with slow, proper introductions to new canine friends. He also needs a little time to warm up to unfamiliar people, including children. Once he feels comfortable and secure, his sweet personality begins to shine. His experience with cats is unknown.

Puzzle loves playing with toys, but he does have a tendency to guard them from other dogs, so supervised playtime and keeping toys separate when necessary are important. He also does best when fed separately from other dogs.

One thing to know about Puzzle is that he may display some barrier reactivity, sometimes growling or lunging when other dogs approach while he is in his crate. Outside of his crate, he does well with other dogs when given proper introductions. Puzzle would do best with a patient, understanding family who will give him the time and space he needs to build trust and confidence. With consistency, positive reinforcement, and lots of love (and treats), this sweet boy has so much potential.

Despite his uncertain beginnings, Puzzle is a resilient little guy who has so much love to give. He’s learning what it means to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. He just needs someone willing to understand him, respect his boundaries, and give him the forever home he deserves. With patience, consistency, and love, he has so much potential to become an amazing companion. We are requiring a secure fenced yard for him. Could you be the missing piece to Puzzle’s forever home? If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Puzzle, complete an app and tell us more about you.

12. Cici

Adult (9 years) · Female · Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Mixed (long coat) · 49 mi from Palm Coast

NOTE: Cici and Cubby are bonded and must be adopted together:

Read more about Cici

Meet Cici and Cubby. Sometimes life takes an unexpected turn, and two little hearts find themselves wondering what happened to their world they once knew. That’s what happened to Cubby and Cici. After a death in their family, these two beloved companions were surrendered to our rescue. Cubby, at 12 years old and Cici, at 9 years old, suddenly found themselves in an unfamiliar place, scared and confused. After years of knowing the comfort of home, everything they knew had changed. But with a little love, patience and affection, these two sweet souls are finding their way through again. They’re learning that there are still kind hands to pet them, loving arms to hold them and people who care.

Cici - our precious little booty girl! Oh, sweet Cici! Where do we begin with this adorable 9-year-old yorky. She is the cutest little munchkin with a charming little sway and waddle to her walk. Her foster mom affectionately calls her "my little booty girl," and once you see her toddling along, you’ll understand why. She’s absolutely precious! Cici is a quiet little girl with a sweet personality and a special way of letting you know what she wants. Sometimes she’ll talk to you a little and I have a feeling she’s trying to tell me something important. Maybe she’d like a little pick up and to carry her around. Maybe she wants a little snack. Or perhaps she simply thinks it’s time for a little extra attention. After all, a girl deserves to be spoiled now and then. And Cici certainly knows how to melt your heart. She’s a loving little sweetheart who would be perfectly happy being carried around by her favorite person, enjoying the comfort of knowing she’s safe and loved. She has a gentle presence that makes you want to scoop her up, give her kisses and tell her everything‘s going to be all right. Cici is doing well with her house training - uses peepee pads - along with walks and backyard outings. She does great on a leash and loves going for walks and she’s great on car rides. But wherever Cici goes there is one very important companion she wants by her side, her beloved Cubby.

Cubby is a little gentleman with a big heart! Cubby is a 12-year-old male dachshund with the most beautiful soft red fur and a heart full of love. He’s an affectionate, friendly little gentleman who seems to know that life is sweeter when you have someone special by your side and for Cubby, that someone is his best girl Cici. Cubby is a calm, quiet boy who doesn’t bark much but don’t mistake his quiet nature for a lack of personality. He’s always happy to welcome a kind person, enjoy a good pet, and soak up a little extra affection. He loves his walks meeting new people and stretching out in the yard to enjoy a little sunshine. Because of his friendliness, he will make a wonderful companion. Cubby also rides quietly, he is house trained on peepee pads, walks well on leash and enjoys frequent trips outside. At this stage of his life, Cubby isn’t asking for much - he wants the simple things: a soft place to rest, a gentle hand to pet him, a sunny spot in the yard, and someone who will love him for the sweet little soul he is. Most of all he wants his sweet little Cici close.

Cubby and Cici are looking for a forever home together. They deserve to stay side-by-side, sharing their days with a family who will cherish and love them both now they are ready for their next chapter. Can you open your hearts to this sweet duo? 13. Laredo

Adult · Male · Terrier / Mixed · 30 mi from Palm Coast

Meet Laredo! Laredo spent the first 5 ½ years of his life with the only family he had ever known, from the time he was just a few weeks old. When circumstances changed, Laredo suddenly found himself without the home and family he had known his entire life. Now, this handsome boy is looking for the second chance, and forever home, he deserves.Despite everything he has been through, Laredo is a sweet, smart, people loving boy who enjoys meeting new people and being part of the action. He already knows sit and paw, comes when called, walks very nicely on a leash, and is both house trained and crate trained.

Read more about Laredo

He’s also quite vocal and loves a good howl when he has something to say!Laredo is currently spending time with a professional trainer, where he is doing very well and giving us the opportunity to learn even more about him. He has done well with large female dogs and may also be compatible with more submissive large male dogs. He can be selective with confident male dogs, so any potential canine sibling would need to be carefully considered and appropriately introduced. His compatibility with smaller dogs is still being evaluated. One important thing we’ve learned about Laredo is that he really needs companionship. He does not do particularly well being completely alone and is happiest when he can be with his person. If his people are going to be away, Laredo needs the companionship of other compatible dogs around him. He would do best in a home where he won’t routinely be left completely by himself for long periods of time.Laredo does have a strong prey drive and cannot live with cats, chickens, or other small animals. We are also looking for a home without young children.Laredo loves being outside and having room to roam and explore. He does have a history of escaping, so secure fencing is important, and he should not be left outside unattended. Since settling into his current environment with plenty of space and secure 6-foot no-climb fencing, he has not been showing signs of trying to escape. Keeping him exercised, engaged, and included will be important in his new home.Laredo needs an experienced, committed adopter who can provide him with structure, consistency, exercise, attention, and plenty of love. He is an intelligent dog with so much potential, and with the right person willing to understand his needs, we believe he will flourish. After spending 5 ½ years with one family, we want to make sure Laredo never has to start over again. We aren’t looking for just any home for him, we’re looking for the home that will finally be his forever!

14. Leona

Young (2 years 7 months) · Female · Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat) · 49 mi from Palm Coast

Leona is a sweet and spunky little girl. She appears to be a chihuahua mix, possibly with a dash of Feist. Although she was initially estimated to be 3 years old, her behavior and energy level after settling into her foster home suggest that she may be closer to 1–2 years old. She weighs about 7.6 pounds.

Leona is house-trained, but because she is still young, she needs to go outside every couple of hours to reinforce her training. She would love a securely fenced yard, but one is not required because she walks like a superstar on her leash. In moderate temperatures, she can easily walk more than one mile!

Read more about Leona

This bright, playful girl is happiest when she has an active family and a canine playmate who is at least her size and has a similar energy level and enthusiasm for play. Leona gets along wonderfully with her three foster siblings; however, they are all seniors and much smaller than she is. When she gets excited, Leona can play a little roughly, so she would do best with a confident, playful dog who can match her energy level and with people who will supervise interactions and help her practice good manners.

Leona also loves chewing on her antler bones and especially enjoys tearing apart her colorful wool balls. These wool balls are nontoxic and designed to be destroyed. Her fosters will send a few along with her in case her new family would like to continue providing her favorite toy. So far, Leona has not shown much interest in stuffed toys, ropes or tug toys, although that could change.

Leona can be cautious when meeting new people, but she warms up quickly—especially when they have cheese or dog cookies! Patient introductions, positive reinforcement, and allowing her to approach at her own pace will help her feel comfortable and build trust.

Leona sleeps quietly through the night in bed with her people, and we would like that to continue in her new home. She is generally quiet, but when she does not immediately get her way, she can become loud and vocal. She is a fast learner though, and usually settles down quickly. Leona is crate-trained, but she may initially cry before settling down. Her new family should be prepared to continue building her comfort with the crate and to use consistent, reward-based training to help her mature.

For these reasons, Leona needs a family with breed experience who understands that her small size comes with plenty of energy, opinions and personality. She will thrive with people who enjoy daily walks, interactive play, structure and continued training—and who will appreciate her affectionate, entertaining nature. Because of her small size, Leona needs a home with adults only, or if there are children in the home they must be responsible and respectful towards animals.

Leona is a beautiful, energetic and intelligent dog who very much wants to be someone’s special baby. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the active, patient and committed home she needs, please complete an application and tell us more about yourself!

16. Mater

Adult (9 years) · Male · Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat) · 49 mi from Palm Coast

Meet Mater, a 9-year-old, 79-lb. Labrador Retriever mix who is basically the definition of a gentle, easygoing love bug. Mater is house-trained, super chill, and incredibly sweet. His favorite place is right next to his human, preferably with someone giving him all the belly rubs he can get! He doesn’t ask for much—just some affection, a cozy spot to lounge, and the occasional adventure. We’re also slowly helping him shed a few pounds so he can stay happy and healthy. He gets along well with other dogs and is comfortable around his canine foster brother. He does prefer a calmer dog sibling, compared to one that's gonna be an in-your-face type.

Read more about Mater

He’s friendly, confident, and has absolutely no guard-dog tendencies. In fact, Mater’s philosophy is that everyone who walks through the door is a potential new best friend! He isn’t a big barker and is happy to greet just about everyone. Mater enjoys his walks and is a good walking companion. He also loves car rides and gets especially excited when it’s time for walks or mealtime. At home, though, he’s perfectly content lounging around and keeping his human company. He doesn’t need a yard to be happy, although he does love rolling around in the grass when he gets the opportunity. He’s not particularly interested in toys, although every now and then he’ll happily chew on a tennis ball. He’s also a little mouthy when excited—not in an aggressive way, but he sometimes jumps up with his mouth open when he’s happy or excited. He does have a chipped, sharp tooth, so adopters should be mindful of that during his enthusiastic greetings. Because of this excited, mouthy behavior, he may not be the best fit for a home with very young children. Mater isn’t a fan of the vacuum cleaner or very loud noises and would much rather retreat to another room until the commotion is over. Otherwise, he’s an incredibly low-maintenance guy who is happy to simply hang out with his people. Mater is the kind of dog who doesn’t need a lot to be happy. Give him a loving human, a few belly rubs, some walks, and a comfy place to relax, and he’ll be perfectly content. He truly doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and would love nothing more than to find a forever family to spend his golden years beside. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Mater, complete an app and tell us more about you.

Roxy is an approx. 1yo, 53lb. possible hound/pittie mix. She is a shy girl who prefers lazy days on the couch next to you rather than the adventurous life. She is an introvert through and through with the sweetest eyes and demeanor. Roxy loves belly rubs, a Kong toy stuffed with treats, and jumping on her hind legs to greet you. She is still working on being brave and exploring on walks but is getting more confident by the day. She follows at your heels whether on leash or not. She is potty trained, crate trained and only howls if she hears an intruder outside... otherwise she's as quiet as a mouse.

Read more about Roxy

She does fine left alone and enjoys lounging on her favorite couch. Roxy is polite with toys, but mostly ignores them and prefers human interaction over the plushies. She also chooses her favorite humans over other dogs, and most likely with cats too. She has not officially been cat tested but has shown zero prey drive and seems to be pretty aloof around other animals. That's not to say she can't make friends. Her laid back, submissive personality is appreciated by other dogs and once acquainted, she will romp around in the yard and shower them with kisses. Then she loses interest and goes back to her person. As far as car rides go, she is terrified in the car and trembles for the majority of the ride but eventually settles in. A yard would be beneficial for her, but mainly she needs a quiet home, in a quiet community, with patient and loving people who will give this insecure pup the time she needs to settle in and become a confident member of the family. If you're looking for a fellow couch potato who shares your lack of enthusiasm at meeting new people... look no further. Your furry friend is in this gorgeous pup named Roxy! If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area, and believe you have the perfect home for Roxy, complete an app and tell us more about you.

18. Charlie

Young (10 months) · Male · Catahoula Leopard Dog / Hound / Mixed (short coat) · 49 mi from Palm Coast

Charlie is a 10-month-old male Bahamian Potcake, likely with some catahoula leopard/ hound in the mix, and he is one of those dogs who quietly works his way into your heart. Charlie can be shy and a little skittish around new people, but once he decides you’re his person, that bond means everything to him. He may need a little patience and time to fully come out of his shell, but in the meantime he is gentle, quiet, affectionate and incredibly sweet. After starting life on the streets of the Bahamas, Charlie has decided that soft things are one of life’s greatest inventions. Pillows, couches, blankets, comfy dog beds — if it’s cozy, Charlie approves.

Read more about Charlie

He loves his toys, hanging with his dog friends, and has recently discovered that pool days are pretty fantastic too. He hasn’t committed to full-on swimming yet, but lounging on the sun shelf like he owns the place? Absolutely. Charlie is still a puppy, so he’ll need someone willing to continue his basic training. He isn’t completely potty trained yet, but he is smart, learns quickly, and is making great progress. His leash walking is also a work in progress. More than anything, Charlie needs a family who understands that the best relationships aren’t always instant. Sometimes the dog who hangs back at first becomes the one who loves you the hardest once he realizes he is finally safe. If you have a little patience, a soft couch, and room in your life for a gentle soul who just needs someone to believe in him, Charlie may be your boy. Charlie does need a friendly companion dog to help him feel confident, and he has separation anxiety so someone who is home most of the time or a work-from-home situation would be best for him. He's is more of a ladies' man, and kids tend to make him nervous. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Charlie complete an app and tell us more about your family.

19. Blade

Adult (4 years 1 month) · Male · Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat) · 49 mi from Palm Coast

Meet Blade — the bestest little dude! Blade is a 4-year-old, 18lb. possible Chihuahua/Schipperke mix who is an absolute sweetheart and is ready for the family he deserves. Blade was originally surrendered by his owner and sadly ended up in the shelter, where he spent two long months through absolutely no fault of his own. Despite everything, this little guy has remained an incredibly loving, happy boy. He is dog friendly, cat friendly, loves people. He can be a little timid when he first meets you, but give him about five minutes, a hot dog, and a little patience—and congratulations, you’ve officially made a best friend for life.

Read more about Blade

Blade is great in the car, crate trained, doing great at learning to walk on leash, enjoys playing with toys, and is just an all-around incredible little dude. His house training is still a work in progress (and it's mostly marking), but in the mean time, he sports a belly band with pride. He loves running around in a fenced yard, so that would certainly be preferable for him. He is a medium-energy boy, loves his zoomies but also knows how to chill with the best of them. Whether you're looking for a buddy to join you on your next adventure or a sweet little companion who would happily curl up in a soft bed and enjoy the good life, Blade is ready for either. He’s been through enough waiting. Now he’s looking for his forever person—the one who will show him just how good life can be. And in return, Blade promises to be the very bestest boy. We are requiring an all-adult home for Blade. If you believe Blade could be your new best friend and you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area, complete an app and tell us more about you.

20. Jackie

Adult (4 years 1 month) · Female · Chihuahua / Corgi / Mixed (short coat) · 49 mi from Palm Coast

Meet Jackie! This adorable 4-year-old, 11-lb. chihuahua mix looks like a little chi-corgi and has a heart just as big as her personality!

Jackie was a last-call dog at the shelter due to a hernia that required emergency surgery. Thankfully, she was given a second chance, and today she’s healthy, happy and ready for her next chapter!

Jackie may be timid when you first meet her, but once she trusts you, she bonds with her entire heart. She has medium energy and LOVES to work! When she gets excited, her little body spins, and her tail wags as fast as it possibly can. It’s impossible not to smile watching her. She also enjoys playing with toys.

Read more about Jackie

She gets along with other dogs but is more of a laid-back companion than a playful pup. Her favorite thing is being close to her people and soaking up all the cuddles she can get. Since she is timid upon meeting, if the home has kids they should be older, respectful and know how to approach her calmly. She needs to build a relationship with her people, and learn trust with strangers. We do want an active family for her, one who can take her on daily walks, on adventures with them, and include her as part of the family.

Jackie is crate-trained is currently completing a board-and-train program, where she’s learning excellent leash manners, recall, and a solid place/stay. Since she is in a kennel, we are not 100% sure if she is house trained, but we think it is best if she can be taken out on a consistent schedule.

After everything this little girl has been through, she deserves a family who will give her the love, security and happily-ever-after she’s been waiting for. Could Jackie be your perfect little sidekick?

If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Jackie, complete and app and tell us more about your family.

MEET APOLLO: THE ULTIMATE SURVIVOR LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME

If you are looking for a story of incredible resilience, unwavering sweetness, and pure love, look no further than Apollo.

Read more about Apollo

When we first met Apollo, he almost didn’t survive. He came to us suffering from severe starvation and heartbreaking neglect. But this approx. 5-year-old pitbull mix is a true warrior—he has fought his way back, recovered like an absolute champ, and has already gained a healthy 18 pounds! Despite the unthinkable cruelty he endured, Apollo’s spirit was never broken. In fact, he is easily the most loving, happiest, and sweetest dog you will ever meet. Here is why you’ll fall head over heels for him:

The Ultimate Snuggle Bug: Apollo loves to cuddle! He’s a giant lap dog at heart who wants nothing more than to be near his human.

Kid & People Approved: He absolutely adores people of all ages, including children!

Cat Friendly: He ignores cats and genuinely doesn’t mind sharing his space with feline friends.

Making Huge Strides: He is making amazing progress with potty training (as long as he’s kept on a regular routine, he has zero accident!) and is mastering crate training like a pro.

What Apollo Needs in a Home:

Because of the emotional scars from his past, Apollo will need a patient, compassionate family who will see past his emotional scars and love him for the sweet boy he truly is. Additionally, Apollo prefers to be the only dog in the home right now. He is still fearful of other dogs, though with time, proper training and safe socialization, he may continue to build confidence.

Meet Chico Meeko! Chico is a 1-year-old, 10-lb Chihuahua mix with a big personality! He’s affectionate, loves cuddling, training, going on adventures, or just chilling with his human. Chico is crate trained and working on potty training but wears a belly band without issue. He finished up a board and train where he kicked booty and took names, learning how to heel on leash, place/stay, and recall. Chico is a super playful kiddo both with people and dogs, he also doesn’t mind a kitty friend or two! He loves toys and picks out several from the toy box. Like most dogs, Chico would do best eating in his crate away from any furry family members as he would prefer not to share his meals.

23. Winnie

Young (9 months) · Female · Cocker Spaniel (medium coat) · 49 mi from Palm Coast

Meet Winnie, a little girl with a BIG personality and an even bigger heart! Winnie is an 9- month old Cocker Spaniel who may take a little time to warm up, but once she feels safe, she has nothing but love to give. She can get nervous around too many people and may bark when she feels scared, so she needs slow introductions and a family who will respect her boundaries and let her build confidence at her own pace.

Read more about Winnie

Winnie is a super smart, high energy girl who LOVES her toys, treats, and learning new things! She already knows sit, down, and stay, and she is learning to use dog puzzles to keep her clever little brain busy. Her zoomies are the cutest, and this girl is FAST! She also LOVES the water. Looking for an adventure buddy? She’s your girl! Want a couch cuddle bug after a long day? She can be that too!

Winnie absolutely loves other dogs and does amazing with her foster brothers, but be prepared because this girl plays ROUGH! We are talking full body slams, wrestling, and nonstop fun. She needs another playful, energetic dog who can match her play style, so a senior dog or a pup who prefers a calmer lifestyle would not be the right fit. A dog sibling that matches her energetic play style is a must for her forever home.

Because Winnie is still learning to manage her excitement and can be uncomfortable when people get too close, she needs a home without young children. She is fully crate trained and is still working on her potty training. She learns incredibly quickly, but continued training is important for her success. Her adopter will be required to attend a training class in Orlando with her current trainer and continue practicing the training techniques at home.

This girl needs room to run and play, so a house with a securely fenced backyard is a must. Apartment living would not be a good fit for her. She is also quite vocal, so her family should be ready for her to share her opinions! Winnie LOVES car rides, but unfortunately, she gets extremely carsick and vomits. Also her gorgeous, long coat requires daily brushing and regular professional grooming.

Winnie is looking for a family who will embrace her goofy personality, keep her active, continue her training, and give her the time she needs to feel safe. In return, you’ll get a loving, playful, water loving girl who will keep you laughing, moving and cuddling for years to come. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe Winnie might be your perfect match, complete an adoption application and tell us more about you.

25. Ellie Mae

Adult (5 years 2 months) · Female · Hound / Mixed (short coat) · 49 mi from Palm Coast

Ellie Mae is an approx. 5-year-old, 30lb. possible hound mix. There might be some pot bellied pig in her lineage based on her little snorts and stout frame. Ellie's perfect family would be on the quieter side; if the home has kids, then 10+ would be best. We are not sure she would handle apartment or city living well, but she also doesn't need to be on acreage. Quieter neighborhoods are more her speed.

26. Nova

Adult (4 years 2 months) · Female · German Shepherd Dog / Husky / Mixed (medium coat) · 49 mi from Palm Coast

Meet Nova

This gorgeous 4-year-old, 50-lb. German Shepherd mix is all about enjoying life with her favorite humans.

Nova is an affectionate girl who loves being wherever her people are. She loves to curl up right beside you and, yes, sometimes on top of you. When her foster mom works from home, she’s happy to snooze quietly in her bed. As long as she can be nearby, she’s content! She’s generally calm and easygoing indoors, but she’s just as happy to head outside for an adventure.

Read more about Nova

Nova walks beautifully on leash, enjoys neighborhood walks, and absolutely loves hiking. On weekends, she can often be found exploring local trails with her foster mom and canine foster siblings.

When it comes to other dogs, Nova prefers a more laid-back crowd. She would be fine as an only-dog or with calm canine companions. She isn’t particularly interested in playing with other dogs. She’d much rather play with people and show off her toy-catching skills!

Nova is housebroken, crate-trained, cat-safe, and friendly with new people. She also attends professional training at DiversityK9 and knows her basic commands.

Nova needs a home with older children or adults only. She can take a little time to truly settle into a new environment, but once she feels comfortable, she becomes a loving, funny, and incredibly loyal companion.

If you’re looking for a dog who can spend Saturday morning hiking a trail, keep an eye on the yard, and spend Saturday night curled up next to you, Nova might be your girl.

27. Jolene

Adult (4 years 3 months) · Female · Beagle / Mixed (short coat) · 49 mi from Palm Coast

Jolene is an approx. 3-5yo, 38lb. beagle mix who is super sweet and affectionate. She came to our rescue as a stray at the shelter, where she is super skinny and her skin was a mess. She is now at a healthy weight and her skin and coat have drastically improved.

Read more about Jolene

Jolene is house trained, crate trained (sleeps well inside or outside the crate), and rides well in a car. She is great with other dogs, cats and chickens. She would love a fenced yard and another dog to run and play with. She is very playful and loves stuffed toys and chew toys, and will gleefully run around celebrating when she gets a new one. Being a hound dog, she talks while she plays, but so far hasn't barked outside much, just mostly with her friends. Jolene would not be suitable for apartment life.

In her new home she will need some guidance with inside manners, but she is eager to please and learn. Jolene is so sweet and wants to be a good girl. She loves to cuddle and be by your side.

She is not really food focused and tends to wander off when fed, so it is best to feed her in her own area so other dogs won't steal her food. She does great with nail trimmings and is getting used to baths. Jolene is still learning not to jump on people when she is excited so older children would be best for her.

28. Robin Egg

Adult (5 years 1 month) · Female · Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 15 mi from Palm Coast

We make a promise to our Swampies that once they are with us they will always be safe and loved. But sometimes, no matter how hard we try to prevent it, a promise gets broken. Three whole years of Robin being in her “forever” home and now she is back in our rescue yet again.

Read more about Robin Egg

We are heartbroken for Robin, who is confused and stressed in boarding - the only option we had with 30 minutes to make a plan for Robin’s future. Truthfully, Robin was not an easy dog for us the first time we had her. She was always sweet but she had no interest in humans other than to use them as a springboard and she had lots of, “little kid at a birthday party who had too much cake and missed nap time” type of energy. Robin could have ended up a million other places, many of which we believe would have led to her being pent up, overlooked, and declining in a shelter system she couldn’t get out of. We believe Robin found us for a reason. We worked to help her excited anxiety, we treated her for heart worms, and even sent her off to a training program which did wonders for her. And still we had Robin for a year before she got adopted.

Now, three years later it’s obvious how good home life has been for Robin. She is more settled. She wants affection and sits with her butt right next to you and leans in for pets. She is a different Robin we are getting to know again, but still Rob. She still has her very own unique, happy zest for life, and she still has the cutest stinkin’ happy face. Robin is cat friendly, older kid friendly, no dogs but is not reactive and is dog safe, and she is nondestructive in a home. She also has free life time refresher courses with her trainer. Robin is looking for someone who loves her for her quirks, not despite them. Please help us share Rob. She needs a foster or adopter ASAP. We are very worried she will regress from how far she has come if we cannot get her out of boarding. She is confused and struggling to understand where her family went and we swore to her we would do everything to not let it take another year this time to find her people.

Once a Swampie always a Swampie, and this time forever WILL mean forever.

Georgia is a 1‑year‑old, 65lb. American Bulldog mix, weighing about 65 pounds.

Georgia was born completely deaf and blind, but she is confident, capable and resilient. She has successfully mapped her current home and navigates it beautifully, proving just how adaptable and intelligent she is.

She has completed two weeks of board‑and‑train with Diversity K9 in Orlando, where she worked on structure, confidence and communication.

Georgia is:

• Fully crate trained

• House trained

• Great on walks

• Loves lounging on the couch with her people

Read more about Georgia

Georgia currently lives peacefully with two other female dogs (both around 60 lbs) and does very well with them. She gains confidence from having another friendly dog around and would thrive in a home with a canine companion. She has done well around children 8 plus years old, but due to her vision issues, she might accidentally knock over smaller children; therefore, older children would be a better fit.

Georgia’s ideal forever home:

A large, securely fenced yard

Another friendly, well‑adjusted dog

Georgia bonds deeply with her people and finds comfort in routine, gentle guidance and companionship. 30. Elio

Adult (7 years 4 months) · Male · Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed (medium coat) · 49 mi from Palm Coast

Elio is an approx 7yo, 14lb., white miniature poodle. He arrived at the shelter as a super-matted stray that had clearly been abused and neglected and had painful dental disease. He has come a very long way. Elio received a dental cleaning and extractions along with a neuter. Elio will go stand by the door when he wants to go outside, but has also used doggy diapers. He is crate trained, but strongly prefers a large dog crate with a dog bed or pillow inside, with the top and sides covered in blankets. Elio sleeps through the night in his crate without issue if the front of his crate is also covered by a blanket.

Read more about Elio

Elio walks well on a leash and knows commands such as “let’s go,” “free,” and “this way.” Elio also knows “sit,” “stay,” “here,” “leave it,” and “find it.” Elio is super smart and very food motivated, which makes him easy to train. Elio gets along with all dogs, but he has resource-guarded a Kong filled with peanut butter, so it’s important to let him enjoy that type of enrichment in a separate space, such as a crate or different room. Elio really loves his soft toys too, especially crinkle toys. He will follow you from room to room and transfer his toys from place to place one toy at a time. Elio is afraid of new people and may react with fear aggression; he can also be reactive to people putting their hands near his face and may give a warning snap or growl. This means his adopter will have to be very patient, do a slow introduction, and wait for him to warm up because Elio is still learning that most humans are good and kind and won’t hurt him. When Elio left the shelter, it took five days for him to start to trust his foster parents. He currently lives with a male and a female foster parent, 3 dogs and 2 cats. Elio doesn’t have a prey drive to the cats, but he will bark at them in the same way he will bark at strangers. Elio regularly goes to work with his foster mom at Diversity K9, where he has been successfully socialized with many small dogs under 35 pounds and with all types of play styles. Initially, Elio is very much a shy softy who will prefer to just exist with other dogs in the play yard, but when he gets really comfortable with other dogs in his home, he will get the zoomies and play with other dogs. When this happens, Elio seems like a young, playful puppy. When Elio rides in the car, he needs to be tethered or else he will climb into your lap. He is a very quiet rider, but he is so anxious that he will start to drool a lot and may vomit. His foster parents have been working on correcting this negative association by feeding him his dinner in the car while it is parked in the driveway, and they are already seeing a positive change. This only takes a minute, as he eats all his food right away. He loves to play fetch and will play fetch for as long as you are willing to play with him. Out of an abundance of caution, his foster parents will use at least two toys when playing fetch and do a trade rather than try to take a toy from Elio’s mouth or directly from in front of him. Elio is microchipped and wears a collar at all times with a trackable AirTag, identification tag, and rabies tag, because rescue dogs can be a high flight risk, especially in a new environment. Elio is super loving, but very protective of his people. With time and the right chance, he will become extremely bonded and loyal to his adopter. After everything Elio has survived, he is beyond deserving of his happily ever after! We are adopting Elio to an all-adult home only. He will need regular brushing and grooming. Why adopt an adult dog in Palm Coast

An adult dog's personality is fully formed, so the rescue can tell you how they are with people, other pets and busy households. Many have lived in foster homes and are already house-trained.

Grown dogs need less supervision than puppies and often know the basics, like sitting and walking on a leash, which suits people who work or have young children.
