Some things are simply better together… and Violet & Fiona are definitely a package deal. These adorable Shih Tzu girls are best friends, playmates, cuddle buddies, and each other’s little security blankets.

Violet is the social butterfly of the duo — cheerful, playful, and always ready for some fun. She loves squeaky toys, wrestling with Fiona, and getting attention from her people. She can be a little opinionated when meeting unfamiliar dogs on leash (apparently she has standards ), but with patience and proper introductions, she settles in nicely.

Fiona is the smaller, softer soul. She’s a little more cautious at first and looks to Violet for confidence and reassurance. Give her a little time to feel safe, though, and out comes an incredibly sweet, affectionate little cuddlebug. She loves her people, loves her routines, and REALLY loves her Violet.

These two spend their days playing, wrestling, snuggling, and simply enjoying life together. They’re well-mannered girls who thrive with consistency and routine.

‍♀️ One funny little quirk: these ladies prefer to handle their potty business while out on walks rather than simply heading into the yard. They clearly believe a bathroom break should include a proper outing. Fiona may also have occasional urinary accidents, so she’ll need a family willing to give her frequent potty opportunities and a little patience while she adjusts.

What they’re looking for most is a home where they can stay together and be loved for exactly who they are.

With Violet bringing the confidence and fun and Fiona bringing the gentle sweetness, these two complement each other beautifully. ❤️

Two little dogs. Two very different personalities. One very special bond.

Violet & Fiona are ready to find their forever family — together.

Violet & Fiona's adoption fee is $800 - fully enclosed fenced yard required

He’s also a brand-new arrival, and Figaro would like everyone to know that he already has opinions.

This funny little guy likes to talk, and he isn’t shy about adding his own commentary to whatever is happening around him. We’re still learning his full vocabulary, but something tells us life with Figaro is not going to be quiet or boring.

He’s good with other dogs and has already revealed one very important piece of information about himself: Figaro LOVES treats. If negotiations are ever required, we know exactly where to begin.

Figaro came to us needing some grooming, and his makeover is still a work in progress. Underneath all that hair is a handsome little guy slowly emerging, one snip at a time.

Because he’s new to Canine Castaways, we’re still getting to know him. There’s plenty left to discover about his personality, habits, and what kind of home will suit him best.

But so far?

He’s funny. He’s chatty. He likes dogs. He loves snacks. And apparently, he has a lot to say about all of it.

Stay tuned. We have a feeling Figaro is just getting started.

Right now, Moxie is a very timid puppy. New people, new situations, and unfamiliar things can make her unsure, so we’re spending time helping her build confidence and learn that she doesn’t have to be afraid.

She’s good with other dogs, and having canine friends around gives her opportunities to play, learn, and watch how the more confident dogs navigate the world.

Because Moxie is still young and we’re still getting to know her, there’s plenty we haven’t discovered yet. Her personality is still unfolding, and we suspect there’s a lot more puppy hiding underneath that cautious exterior.

What Moxie needs most is someone who understands that confidence isn’t something you can rush. A patient family willing to encourage her, celebrate the little victories, and give her the time she needs could make an enormous difference in her life.

We are only considering homes in our local area - 1 hour or less from Arcadia FL. If you have adopted from us before and are slightly out of that area, please contact us directly and we can discuss it. Moxie still needs to be spayed. All appointments for spay/neuter surgery will be done at our vet's office in Arcadia so you must be willing to bring him to his appointment in order to be considered for adoption.

Sebastian is a 10-month-old Yorkie/Chihuahua mix weighing just 5.5 pounds, and this tiny guy is everything you’d expect a happy puppy to be.

He’s playful, curious, sweet, and ready to discover what this whole big world is about. At his age, just about everything has the potential to become an adventure, and Sebastian is happy to participate!

Because Sebastian is a brand-new arrival at Canine Castaways, we’re still getting to know him. We haven’t discovered all his favorite things, funny quirks, or exactly what his grown-up personality will be just yet.

What we do know is that he’s a happy little puppy who’s ready to learn, play, love, and grow up with a family of his own.

Like any puppy, Sebastian will need a family prepared for all the work that comes along with raising a youngster, including continued house training, leash skills, basic manners, and plenty of opportunities to learn and socialize.

We are only considering homes in our local area - 1 hour or less from Arcadia FL. If you have adopted from us before and are slightly out of that area, please contact us directly and we can discuss it. Sebastian still needs to be neutered. All appointments for neuter surgery will be done at our vet's office in Arcadia so you must be willing to bring him to his appointment in order to be considered for adoption.

Meet Toosie ❤️
At 17 years young, Toosie is a Chihuahua with a whole lot of love left to give. This sweet senior may
enjoy his beauty sleep, but don’t let his age fool you — he still gets the occasional case of the
zoomies and has plenty of spunk! Toosie has spent much of his life surrounded by his beloved
siblings, who sadly crossed the rainbow bridge recently. Now, he’s looking for a special person to help
him feel safe, loved, and comforted as he enters his retirement years.
Toosie is a harmless, happy little guy who enjoys the simple things in life. He loves going for walks
and taking his time to sniff every blade of grass along the way. When he’s not out exploring, he’s
perfectly content to curl up and enjoy a cozy nap.
What Toosie wants most is someone who will spend quality time with him, give him plenty of affection,
and let him enjoy his golden years at his own pace. He doesn’t need a lot — just a loving home, a
gentle heart, and someone who will appreciate the wonderful senior companion he is.
If you have room in your heart for a sweet little Chihuahua who still has plenty of love (and a few
zoomies!) to share, Toosie would love to meet you.

Toosie's Adoption fee is $300

This little firecracker lives life at full speed. Whether she's playing, exploring, or convincing you its time for another adventure, Mavis believes every day should be exciting. You could say she takes having fun very seriously.

Mavis absolutely loves people and doesn't believe in personal space. If you're sitting down, shell likely be right there in your face, ready to hand out kisses, soak up attention, or simply remind you that she's your newest best friend.

She gets along well with other dogs and would love a canine playmate who can match her enthusiasm. Cats, however... that's a different story. Mavis has decided the feline lifestyle just isn't for her, so a cat-free home is a must.

Mavis is also an impressive little athlete. She can climb a chain-link fence, so shell need a home with a securely fenced yard that she cant scale or supervised outdoor time to keep her safe.

Despite her energetic personality, Mavis is incredibly affectionate. She thrives on being part of whatever her people are doing and is happiest when she's included in the action.

If you're looking for a dog who's equal parts entertainer, adventure buddy, and affectionate shadow, Mavis is ready to brighten your days with her larger-than-life personality.

Just be prepared...

Life with Mavis is never boring, and shed have it no other way!

With her long legs and lightning-fast feet, Luna was simply born to run. If she could choose her favorite game, it would definitely be Catch Me If You Can! She loves racing around the yard with her dog friends, stretching those long legs, and turning every play session into a joyful adventure.

Luna is incredibly social and loves both people and other dogs. Whether she's making new friends at the park or greeting visitors with a wagging tail, Luna is happiest when she's surrounded by fun and companionship.

She's also a dog who would truly thrive with another playful canine companion. Having a buddy to chase, wrestle, and zoom around the yard with is right at the top of Lunas wish list.

Cats, however, are not part of Lunas dream home. She has decided they're much more interesting to chase than live with, so a feline-free family is the best fit for her.

After she's burned off some energy, Luna is more than happy to relax and enjoy time with her people before gearing up for her next adventure.

If you're looking for a fun-loving, athletic little dog who will keep you smiling and remind you to enjoy every single day, Luna is ready to race straight into your heart.

Kasey is an approximately 6-year-old Schnauzer/Chihuahua mix weighing just 9 pounds, with a gentle heart and an adorable coat that's as unique as she is. Her body is covered in a wiry coat, while her head is wonderfully soft, making her extra hard to resist when its time for a few gentle pets.

When you first meet Kasey, you'll notice she's a little shy. Fast movements and sudden activity can make her nervous, so she appreciates kind voices, gentle hands, and people who let her settle in at her own pace. As she begins to realize she's safe, her sweet personality starts to shine through.

Kasey gets along well with other dogs and enjoys their company, making her a wonderful addition to a home with a calm canine companion.

Since Kasey is still new to Canine Castaways, were continuing to learn more about her every day. Each day brings a little more confidence and another glimpse of the loving little dog she's becoming.

Kasey also has a mammary mass that will be removed when she is spayed. Once that's behind her, shell be ready to enjoy the happy, healthy future she deserves.

If you're the kind of person who understands that some dogs just need a little extra patience and reassurance, Kasey will reward you with something truly special: the quiet trust and unconditional love of a dog who finally knows she's home.

A Few Important Things to Know
- Not a fan of big dogs: I do best as the only dog, or alongside small dogs and cats. Big dogs aren't my thing.
- Thunderstorm anxiety: Storms make me nervous — a calm, comforting space during bad weather goes a long way with me.

What I Bring to the Table
I've got morning energy, a zest for squirrel-chasing, and a curiosity about the world that most pups half my age would envy. I'm sweet, I listen well, and I'd be forever grateful to the person who gives me a soft (and adventurous) place to land for my golden years.

If you know I'm your forever pup, fill out an adoption application at daretorescue.org/adoption-application — and don't forget to put Charlie on your application!

When Jack first meets someone new, he can be shy and unsure. He needs a little time to figure out that you mean him no harm. Once you hold him, give him some gentle pets, and earn his approval, that worried little puppy starts to relax and the real Jack begins to appear.

And the real Jack LOVES to play!

Jack is an active youngster who plays very well with other dogs, including dogs much bigger than he is. He can be a bit of a rough-and-tumble player, so hed love a canine buddy who enjoys his enthusiastic style. An active family or a playful dog companion would be an ideal match for him.

Toys are always welcome, and a good bone to chew can keep Jack happily occupied. He's also comfortable in his crate, is mostly house-trained, and is doing well learning the routines of home life. Leash walking is still on his puppy résumé under skills currently in development, so his new family will need to continue working with him.

After all that playing, Jack has another side.

He loves his pre-bedtime snuggles.

Once the days adventures are over, this busy little boy is happy to settle in close and soak up some affection before calling it a night.

Jack is still young and has plenty left to learn, but he's already showing us what a wonderful companion he can become. He needs a family that will give him confidence when he's unsure, guidance while he's learning, plenty of opportunities to burn off that puppy energy, and lots of love along the way.

Jack may greet you with Who are you? but give him a little time and hell be asking, What are we doing next?

When Jill first meets new people, she's shy and cautious. She prefers to let her canine friends take the lead and is much more comfortable when she has another confident dog by her side. Because of this, Jill would do best in a home with another playful, well-adjusted dog to help continue building her confidence.

Once Jill feels safe, her fun-loving puppy personality comes to life.

She loves toys of every kind, especially the squeaky ones, and can often be found wrestling with her foster sisters or happily entertaining herself. She also enjoys rolling in the grass, chasing crickets, and stretching out in the sunshine for a good sunbath. Its the simple things that make Jill happiest.

Jill is doing well with her house training and is eager to keep learning. Shell need continued leash training as she gains confidence exploring the world beyond her yard, but she's making progress every day.

Jill isn't looking for someone to rush her.

She's looking for someone who will let her discover, at her own pace, that people can be kind, life can be fun, and home is a place where she can truly relax.

With patience, another canine companion, and lots of love, Jill is sure to blossom into an amazing lifelong friend.
