2. Chase

Young · Male · Doberman Pinscher (short coat) · 45 mi from Earling

My name is Chase and I am one year and eight months old. I recently came into rescue when my family could no longer care for me.

I am a handsome fella full of energy and play and lots of love! I get along great with other dogs but cats are another matter. I am not recommended for a home with cats.

I would do best in a home with other dogs to play with. My new family must also commit to taking me to training. It is important that my new family understand the energy and needs of an adolescent Doberman.

If you are interested in me please go to the rescue website at www.doberescue-ne.org and review the adoption rules and area. If you feel you qualify please submit an application through the website.

Have Doberman or like breed experience

Have a dog my own size for me to play with – no little dogs.

Agree to take me to training so I can learn even more.

4. Roy

Adult · Male · Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat) · 49 mi from Earling

Meet our Good Boy Roy! Some dogs like Roy (aka Royal) come into our lives and brings so much joy while quietly touching all who have met him, yet still he is passed over time and again. We know what a great companion he is and know that someday his person/family will find him!

Read more about Roy

His people are his everything! At around 60 pounds he's certainly not huge but oh he loves to be a lap dog or right beside you. Royal craves love and attention, but who doesn’t want a best friend to love them with their whole heart while serving up slobbery kisses?! This handsome guy is potty trained, crate trained, has great manners and at 3 years old Royal has years yet to give you his undying love!

Roy thrives on a routine, unconditional love, and snuggling! He is extremely smart, loyal and is easy to keep busy with bones. He also loves children (as you can see in his photo!), toys, walks and being the one and only king of his house. Although he and can walk by other dogs and even play occasionally with submissive dogs with supervision. Royal thinks he is put on this earth for you so you may have a best friend permanently attached to you in about 30 seconds flat!

This brings us to why and how to answer when asked "How is he not adopted yet when he's such a good boy?" The short answer is he prefers to be the only dog in the house. The reason? Our good boy Roy simply has a fear of some dogs, especially alpha dogs. Which we must say that so many people want just one dog in a house, so why not him? A 6 foot fence is preferable but can discuss.

Please help our Roy/Royal find his forever home by applying or sharing his story! Please apply at www.HavenAnimalRescueNebraska.org!

DONATION ADOPTION FEE $300

*ALL DOGS MUST BE INSIDE COMPANION ANIMALS! They must all be trained with positive reward based training and all are up to date with vaccinations, altered, microchipped, HeartWorm tested, and on preventatives.

Jimothy (nicknamed Jimmy or Slim Jim) is the perfect combination of brains, sweetness, and just a little bit of lovable chaos. Jimothy gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys playing with a variety of toys, but bones are his favorite. This 30 pound, 6 to 7 month old puppy is most likely a mix of husky/shepherd as a best guess but he is 100% gorgeous with his one blue eye!

8. Lucky

Young · Male · Jack Russell Terrier / Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 49 mi from Earling

This little boy is certainly LUCKY and grateful for rescue! This sweet 1.5 year old guy was originally adopted and so very loved but sadly his mama passed away and he ended up in high kill shelter less than 24 hours later. Scared, alone and confused we could not turn away.

Read more about Lucky

Lucky is a calm handsome 39 pound boy who has his whole life in front of him and just needs a chance for his forever home to grow up in and he will be the amazing companion we know he was meant to be. He is adjusting well to his foster home and thanks to his wonderful foster family, he is finding his place and the joy again in life. Lucky enjoys playing with other dogs and really aims to please the pack leader (his foster mom). He's learning basic commands and is sleeping at night in a kennel. Although, he is coming out of his shell more each day his overall demeanor is more of a chill, low key guy that is a bit on the shy side. He is easy to please and just wants to be by his people and soak in the affection and attention. Lucky would love another resident dog in the family to help him build his confidence and a fenced in yard is required.

If you are looking for a calm dog, that is the perfect medium size, who adores his people and is just looking for his family/person to bond with, Lucky may be the perfect match for you! Please apply at www.HavenAnimalRescueNebraska.org

9. Joanie June Bug

Puppy · Female · Beagle / Boston Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 49 mi from Earling

Meet our super sweet Joanie June Bug!!

This darling 7 month old, 19 lb Beagle and Boston Terrier mix is such a fun little girl and would make an amazing BFF or family dog! Joanie is playful, active, curious, and always ready to see what’s going on. She loves toys, chews, tug-of-war, walks, and pretty much anything that involves spending time with her people. Her beautiful brindle coloring, light eyes, and little dab of pink on her nose make her extra unique.

Read more about Joanie June Bug

Joanie is a loving, submissive girl who tends to let others lead while she takes everything in. She’s learning quickly and doing so well! She walks nicely on a leash, listens well for her age, is learning her commands, and is inquisitive about everything around her. She is great with dogs, cats, and kids and has such a sweet, affectionate personality. She loves getting pets and belly rubs, cuddling with her people, and settling in for some quiet time at the end of the day. She sleeps nicely in her crate at night.

Joanie was surrendered to us from a commercial breeder (who breeds “designer hybrids”) when she and her littermates didn’t sell fast enough. She was lucky to get out of that cycle and is now learning just how fun life can be.

She’s doing well with potty training and will just need a family who is willing to continue helping her along with puppy training as she gets the hang of everything.

Joanie June Bug is spayed, fully vetted and vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, on preventatives, and ready to find her forever family!
