Harley has been with us for a while due to an abandonment situation. He was left on the back porch of a house without any supervision or companionship. As a result, he took a while to settle down. He was terrified of going to the vet but was neutered and got all his shots. Now he is a happy go lucky fella who gets along with other dogs (although sometimes he can be a bit much in play). He's good with kids.

Balloo came to us from an unfortunate bite incident. His owner was trying to break up a fight with his four dogs and Balloo bit the owner on his wrist. From that point they advised us to come get him or they would euthanize him. Since he had to be held on a bite hold, we took him in. We were stunned at his submissive behavior and his overall friendliness. We believe the owner just got in the way of a dog quarrel. He walks well on lead and gets along well with most dogs.

Tommy is a foster favorite. He is special needs only because he is getting treatment for heartworms and tick diseases. This should all be resolved in 90 days. This very sweeet girl is perfect for a dog that needs a cuddlebug. She walks on lead and doesn't have any issues with other dogs. Great with kids, but not so much with chickens. Very calm for a young husky mix. Consider coming to the shelter to meet Myra.

Dexter was found on a rural road in June. He was a little skittish but was caught by one of the neighbors in the area. Dexter walks on leash and is good with people. He is a beautiful dog who deserves a great home!

One of the most difficult decisions in animal rescue is when to euthanize a dog. As most veterinarians will tell you, they will only euthanize an animal for severe aggression or terminal illness. Buster, a pup under a year, was brought to two vets to be euthanized because he ate part of a porch. Both vets refused to euthanize him and the second call us for help in placing this sweet, wiggly pit. Appears to be good with other dogs and with people.

Star was found in Means, KY with injuries to both legs. She was fully evaluated by Morehead State Vet Tech program and was found to have a low white platelet count. She also had two tick diseases. She is under treatment for all these things. She is the sweetest, gentlest girl ever. If you want a senior companion, she is the one to choose!

Percy has been at the shelter for several months - being an active dog this has been very hard on him. He is high energy and needs to run around.
