Meet Oscar, a sweet 10-month-old Cocker Spaniel who was found as a stray and rescued from an local Animal Shelter. He’s up to date on all vaccinations, preventatives, and has completed all blood work. Oscar is playful, loving, and great with other animals. He would do well in a home with or without children, and he’s already housebroken, which is a big plus. 8. Lucy
Adult (3 years 10 months) · Female · Husky / Pomeranian / Mixed

FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED FOR LUCY
This beautiful girl is 4 years old, about 30 lbs., and believed to be a Husky/Pomeranian mix. Before coming to CCRC, Lucy was used for breeding and had never even stepped outside.
Imagine experiencing the world for the very first time at four years old.
Lucy has been slowly learning that life can be safe, kind, and even fun. She has already made so much progress, but now she needs a foster home or even better, a foster-to-adopt home
Lucy will need a safe, quiet space in the home where she can decompress and acclimate.
She needs someone patient who understands that new things will take her a little longer.
Read more about Lucy
She has done amazing with the dogs she has met, so another friendly, confident dog could be a wonderful companion for her.
And you won’t be doing this alone. CCRC will set both you AND Lucy up for success. We provide the supplies, guidance, transportation and support you need along the way.
Lucy has spent enough of her life simply existing. Now we want her to learn what it means to be someone’s dog.
Can you be the person who helps Lucy take that next step?
Head on over to www.ccrcdogs.com if you are interested in Lucy. Even if you can’t foster, please SHARE this post for her.

9. Raven
Adult (3 years 4 months) · Female · Rottweiler / Labrador Retriever

Meet Raven!
Raven is a
3-year-old, 70-pound Rottweiler
with a big personality and an even bigger love for life!
Her foster says Raven is
fun, playful, affectionate, and full of enthusiasm
. One of her favorite things is a good game of tug, and when it comes to walks, she does really well on a 6-foot leash. She hasn’t worked much on a formal “heel” yet, but she’s already a great walking companion.
Raven
LOVES kids!
Because she’s a big, exuberant girl who sometimes forgets just how big she is, we think she’d be happiest with
older kids
who can handle her enthusiasm.

And Raven definitely knows how to play hard and nap hard! She’ll burn through her energy, take a quick snooze, and then wake up ready for round two.
Raven is looking for a family who will appreciate her goofy, energetic personality and continue helping her become the best girl she can be. If you’re looking for a
big, happy Rottie with lots of personality
, Raven may be your girl! ❤️

Adopting a dog in Oakland County
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
