Young · Female · Belgian Shepherd Malinois · 33 mi from Troy

LARK IS STILL WAITING — SHE JUST NEEDS SOMEONE TO SAY YES. Kentucky 2-year-old female Malinois Good with cats Dog neutral / friendly Sweet, loving & affectionate Lower drive for a young Malinois Seems to really want her own person Beautiful Girl! Meet Lark. We’ve learned so much more about this beautiful girl, and every update makes us want to get her OUT of the shelter even more.Lark is showing us that she is a sweet, loving girl who simply wants a person of her own. And this girl LOVES to give hugs. She’s friendly, dog neutral, good with cats, and has a lower drive than you might expect from a young Malinois.

Read more about Lark

She is the kind of dog who seems to really want that connection with her person — the attention, the affection, the closeness. She wants someone she can love and trust. She’s looking for her person. Someone who will give her a safe place to land. Someone who will let her decompress. Someone who will give her the time and patience to figure out what life is supposed to feel like outside of a shelter. And just look at her — Lark is looking fantastic. She has already shown everyone how wonderful she can be. Now we need to give her the opportunity to truly relax, settle in, and show us who she is when she isn't surrounded by the stress of a shelter environment. It could be the difference between continuing to wait behind kennel doors and finally getting to experience a soft bed, a routine, a yard, a couch, a person to love, and a place she can finally call safe. Her puppies have been given their chance. Now it’s Lark’s turn. She has spent enough time waiting. #MADRescue #MADRescueDogs #MADRescueMalinois #MalinoisInNeed #FosterSavesLives #FosterNeeded #RescueMalinois #MalinoisRescue #AdoptDontShop #RescueMe #SaveLark #FosterARescue All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and six month subscription. ***************If you are interested in adopting this pet, please complete an application at this link: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic. ***************MAD is an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location. 17. Rambo located in Washington

Young · Male · Belgian Shepherd Malinois · 33 mi from Troy

#MADLoveRambo is making himself right at home, and this big goofball just keeps getting better! Rambo has been with his foster mom and dad for a few weeks now, and he's settling in beautifully. He's a big, goofy softie who loves his humans, gets the zoomies, rolls around in the grass, plays chase, and apparently considers opening the trash can a perfectly acceptable hobby. But this boy is also a pretty quick learner!Training: Rambo is working on clicker training and catching on FAST! He's learning his basics, working on his "leave it" command, and building his confidence along the way.Leash manners: Huge improvements! He's making great progress with his walks.Backyard adventures: He's doing super well off leash in the backyard and loves having room to explore and play.Crate life: He LOVES his crate and goes right in without any fuss.

Who knew a big boy could be so easy about bedtime?Cat updates: His first interaction with cats went really well, and he's been practicing his manners around them. We're working toward peaceful coexistence, and so far, so good!Puddle patrol: If there's a puddle, Rambo will find it. If there's mud involved, even better. We have a feeling spa days are going to become a regular thing around here! And then there's his heart...For a guy who was left out in the desert to fend for himself, Rambo sure loves being close to his humans. He wants to be part of everything, loves a good cuddle, and is still looking to build that special bond with his person. He's a big boy with an even bigger soft spot for the people he loves. He also comes with some pretty entertaining sleeping positions. So what kind of home is Rambo looking for? Someone who enjoys a little adventure, is happy to continue his training, and understands that confidence and trust grow with time. He doesn't need to be an Olympic athlete. He'd much rather be your companion, your shadow, your playmate, and your very large snuggle buddy.Rambo is about 1.5 years old and currently living with his foster family in Washington. He's come a long way from being left alone in the desert. Now he just needs someone to show him that he's home for good.Interested in Rambo? 21. Finley

Young (2 years) · Male · Labrador Retriever (medium coat) · 18 mi from Troy

Meet Finley-Finn, one of our newest residents at the Mikey & Me Kennels for Happy Days Rescue.

Finn is a 2 year old Black Lab mix and he’s slowly learning that the world can be a safe and exciting place. We are looking to place Finn into a loving Foster home while he continues to embrace his new life. Mikey & Me and Happy Days Rescue will cover all standard expenses while Finn is being fostered.

Read more about Finley

Finn arrived at Mikey & Me in late August and he was afraid to go outside. But he is beginning to overcome this fear with noticeable improvement every day. He came to us underweight but he is gradually gaining weight and feeling better. Thankfully, he tested negative for Heart Worm disease at his first Vet appt. in Dexter.

While he may be reserved with new people at first, Finn’s gentle nature shines through once he begins to feel comfortable. Even with his current level of fear, Finn has never growled, tried to nip, or reacted in any way to any of our 70+ volunteers. Finn does well with other dogs and seems to gain confidence when he has canine companions around. He would likely thrive in a home with another friendly, well-balanced dog who can help show him the ropes and boost his confidence.

Finn is very sweet at heart and just needs patience, kindness, and time to fully open up. In the right home, he has all the potential to grow into a loyal, loving companion who bonds deeply with his person.

If you’re unable to Foster, please consider sharing this post to help Finn find a safe, loving, and quiet home. When he’s ready, his foster family will have the first chance at adopting Finn into their home.

Adult · Male · Belgian Shepherd Malinois · 33 mi from Troy

Meet Sig! Your future snuggle buddy, professional nose-to-the-ground explorer, and aspiring full-time lap dog! Sig’s story could have ended in a Houston shelter, but this sweet boy was saved just in time and given a second chance at the life he deserves. Now he’s showing everyone just how special he is!Sig is visually impaired, but don’t let that fool you. This boy has an incredible nose, a sharp mind, and an impressive ability to figure out his surroundings. Give him a little time to explore, and he can map out an entire house or dog pen in about a day! He can even follow his dog friends around by scent.

Who needs GPS when you have a nose like Sig’s?A few of Sig’s favorite things: Dog friends! He gets along fantastically with his foster’s dogs and enjoys playing with them, adjusting his play thoughtfully to accommodate his vision. Stuffies! He may not be particularly toy-motivated, but plush toys are definitely his thing. ALL the affection. Cuddles, attention, praise, and being as close to his people as physically possible. Personal space? Sig has questions about that concept. Sniffari adventures. He loves exploring the world through his nose, so walks are full of exciting smells and plenty of investigating. Sig is also a pretty fantastic houseguest! He’s fully housebroken, 100% crate trained, non-destructive indoors, and sleeps peacefully through the night right beside his foster’s bed. He thrives in the comfort of a home and loves being part of everyday life. His leash manners could use a little polishing since he tends to follow his nose wherever it leads. His foster has found that a harness works best for helping him navigate walks. Sig isn't especially motivated by food or toys, but praise, affection, and positive reinforcement go a long way with this sweet boy. What kind of home is Sig looking for?A home that will give him time to learn his surroundings, help him navigate the world safely, and understand that his vision impairment doesn't stop him from enjoying life. He would love a family who appreciates his affectionate personality and is happy to include him in their daily routine. Another friendly dog could be a wonderful companion for him!Sig has already overcome so much. He went from facing euthanasia in Houston to discovering the joys of home life, and now he’s ready for the best chapter yet: finding his forever family. If you’re looking for a loving, goofy, nose-powered cuddle bug who will happily try to fit his whole self into your lap, Sig might just be your guy!***********To apply to adopt, please fill out the application by clicking on the Adopt button or ask for this dog to be added to your existing application. All MAD dogs come with a series 3 Fi Collar and a six-month subscription. Why adopt an adult dog in Troy

An adult dog's personality is fully formed, so the rescue can tell you how they are with people, other pets and busy households. Many have lived in foster homes and are already house-trained.

Grown dogs need less supervision than puppies and often know the basics, like sitting and walking on a leash, which suits people who work or have young children.
