1. Roy

Adult · Male · Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat)

Meet our Good Boy Roy! Some dogs like Roy (aka Royal) come into our lives and brings so much joy while quietly touching all who have met him, yet still he is passed over time and again. We know what a great companion he is and know that someday his person/family will find him!

Read more about Roy

His people are his everything! At around 60 pounds he's certainly not huge but oh he loves to be a lap dog or right beside you. Royal craves love and attention, but who doesn’t want a best friend to love them with their whole heart while serving up slobbery kisses?! This handsome guy is potty trained, crate trained, has great manners and at 3 years old Royal has years yet to give you his undying love!

Roy thrives on a routine, unconditional love, and snuggling! He is extremely smart, loyal and is easy to keep busy with bones. He also loves children (as you can see in his photo!), toys, walks and being the one and only king of his house. Although he and can walk by other dogs and even play occasionally with submissive dogs with supervision. Royal thinks he is put on this earth for you so you may have a best friend permanently attached to you in about 30 seconds flat!

This brings us to why and how to answer when asked "How is he not adopted yet when he's such a good boy?" The short answer is he prefers to be the only dog in the house. The reason? Our good boy Roy simply has a fear of some dogs, especially alpha dogs. Which we must say that so many people want just one dog in a house, so why not him? A 6 foot fence is preferable but can discuss.

Please help our Roy/Royal find his forever home by applying or sharing his story! Please apply at www.HavenAnimalRescueNebraska.org!

*ALL DOGS MUST BE INSIDE COMPANION ANIMALS! They must all be trained with positive reward based training and all are up to date with vaccinations, altered, microchipped, HeartWorm tested, and on preventatives.

3. Beanie Weenie

Young · Male · Chinese Crested-Hairless / Shih Tzu / Mixed (short coat)

If you were wondering what happens when you cross a majestic gargoyle with a very concerned Harry Potter house elf (and name him after a savory snack) look no further. Those bat ears? Radar-ready. Those tufts of hair? Pure wizard chic. That facial expression? A mix of deep, ancient wisdom and absolute confusion as to why a literal beanie weanie (or piece of cheese) hasn’t magically appeared in his mouth yet.
*13 months old

*Male
*Weight - 11.25 pounds
*Medical- up to date, including neuter and microchip
*Personality - initially cautious, curious and once comfortable full time snuggle buddy
*Good with cats and dogs -
*Human Children - unknown but based on current exposure he would do well with respectful children
*Men - LOVES them. Yes, he is fine with women, but he loves him a man.
*Potty trained - I'm gonna say 99.99% because we're still learning each other's language.

to be your personal lap warmer!

Big dogs, little dogs? Yep! Cats? She's lived with one before and did great! Basically, Beezus is an equal opportunity best friend.

Read more about Beezus

Beezus had surgery on both knees before she turned a year old to correct luxating patellas, which made walking difficult. Thankfully, she's healed up beautifully and can run and play like any other pup! 5. Lillie

Puppy · Female · Great Pyrenees / Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed

Meet Lillie! Born 06/16/2026Meet Lillie, a Great Pyrenees/Blue Heeler mix, also known as Lillie Bird, Bird Dog, and—when the occasion calls for her full government name—Lillian. She’s a playful puppy with a busy social calendar, a passion for chewing, and hearing that occasionally operates on an appointment-only basis.Lillie does great with other dogs and loves playing with her foster buddy, Ron. She’s also a lovely companion to the resident cat, playing appropriately and taking feline company in stride. Another dog could be a fun addition to her future home, but she doesn’t need a canine roommate to thrive.

Read more about Lillie

Grasshoppers, however, should probably make their own arrangements. Her favorite things include outdoor adventures on a leash, Benebones, and investigating whether her foster mom’s belongings were secretly purchased for her. They were not. Management regrets the misunderstanding. She’ll need plenty of appropriate chew toys, supervision, and someone willing to help her learn what belongs in the puppy toy department. She’s already kennel trained! House training is still on her to-do list, along with keeping all four paws on the floor. Lillie enjoys an enthusiastic greeting, but she’s expected to be a large dog, so helping her learn polite manners now is important. A secure six-foot fence is recommended given her jumping ability and anticipated size, and apartment life may not be the best fit for her.Lillie also takes her self-appointed position as household announcement system seriously. Visitors may receive a barking welcome, and she needs time to warm up to unfamiliar people in her home. Her family should be ready to offer patient introductions and consistent training to help her feel more comfortable with guests. Her experience with children is unknown. One important part of Lillie’s routine is private dining. Although she enjoys other animals, she guards food in her kennel and will stiffen and snarl if dogs or cats approach while she’s eating. She needs to be fed separately, with other pets kept away from her kennel during meals, and a family committed to managing this consistently and working on her food guarding.Lillie brings the playfulness, the personality, and a whole collection of excellent nicknames. Her future family brings patience, structure, and a sense of humor while helping her grow into her very best self. If your idea of a good match includes a lively puppy, a walking buddy, and a reason to stop leaving your things within chewing distance, Lillie would like to submit her application! The suggested adoption fee for Lillie is $465. Bullies-N-Beyond ResQ Inc. is a 501(c)3, non-profit corporation that is 100% volunteer operated. Adoption donation fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. All dogs adopted through BNBR will have been administered their age appropriate vaccines which may include DHPP, Rabies, Lepto and Bordetella. All dogs will also be adopted out as already altered if of age, for those not of age, a voucher will be provided. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. BNBR does not adopt on a first serve basis. 6. Dolly

Adult · Female · Siberian Husky (medium coat)

Hello, y'all. I'm Dolly.
I'm new to the rescue and still finding my song. I'm looking for my new home with a place to lay my head. I'd be best in a home with older children. I get along with other dogs, even small ones.I'll be up to date on shots and my health looks good!
In the short time I was transported I was a VERY good girl! I got to ride in an airplane. The pilot said I didn't make a peep in my crate. I've become a staff favorite.
I love walks and get excited just to be out with you. I am interested in the people that walk by but I don't pull ONE BIT on the leash. I'm just so happy to see the world!
I'd love for you to come by and say HI. Apply to meet Dolly.

7. Raven

Puppy · Female · Miniature Pinscher / Mixed (short coat)

Raven is just a baby at only 4 months old. She is already 8lbs so we think she will be a larger size mix of a minpin maybe 15-20 lbs. She has the energy and inquisitiveness of a minpin that is for sure. Raven learned a doggie door in a day, she is a smart alert dog. She has not been much of a barker and goes into her kennel at night and when her foster is gone just fine. She has kept her kennel clean so she is learning housetraining. She would love another dog to play with. The resident dog in her foster home is 15 and not at all interested in playing with a puppy no matter how hard she tries.

Read more about Raven

Raven is food motivated and might just jump on you to eat what you have. She will need a home that will work on her training and be able to handle her energy level. We do not know how she is with cats but will probably want to play with them. She does have sharp puppy teeth she might nick you when playing.

8. Willow

Adult · Female · Chihuahua

Meet Willow — Our Newest Little Gal to rescue! Born 12/2/2021. Tiny in size, big on cuteness! Willow has just arrived at rescue, and we’re already excited to get to know this little cup-sized sweetheart. We’re still learning all about her personality, quirks, and what makes her special, so consider this her introduction rather than her full story. We’ll keep updating her bio as she settles in and we discover more about this little girl. Here’s what we know so far about Willow: tiny girl, impressive résumé! She’s house and kennel trained, gets along well with other dogs, and is happy to welcome canine pals and new human admirers into her fan club! Her preferred audience? The middle-school-and-up crowd.

Younger kiddos aren’t on her guest list, so she’d preferably have a home without little ones. A girl this small is allowed to have a few big opinions! She’ll also need secure fencing with no little escape routes—wrought iron bars, small holes, and loose spots can all become Chihuahua-sized doorways! Her yard needs to keep her adventures safely contained.Willow arrived with a little extra cushion, so she’s looking for someone to join her on her “less pudge, more pep” journey. Regular walks and a nutritious diet with sensible portions will help her reach a healthy weight and feel her best. She’ll bring the charm; you bring the leash and measuring scoop! This pint-sized cutie is new to rescue, and we’re just getting to know her. We’re still learning all about her little personality, what makes her tick, and what kind of forever home will make her tiny tail wag. We’ll keep updating her bio as we discover more about this pocket-sized sweetheart! Here’s what we do know so far about Maple: this little lady comes with some lovely credentials! She’s house and kennel trained, gets along well with other dogs, and enjoys making new human friends.

She walks great on a leash, too—your tiny walking buddy is ready for her next outing! When it comes to children, she prefers the middle-school-and-up crowd, so a home without younger kiddos would be her preference. Small girl, selective guest list!Maple will need secure fencing because her petite size makes ordinary gaps look like open invitations. Wrought iron bars, small holes, and loose spots can become exits for a determined little explorer, so her yard needs to keep her adventures safely on the right side of the fence. She also arrived carrying a little extra sweetness around the middle and is working toward a healthy weight. She’s looking for someone committed to regular walks and a nutritious diet with sensible portions to help her feel her best. With those lovely leash manners, she’s already doing her part—she just needs a partner for her “more strolls, fewer snacks” era! The suggested adoption fee for Maple is $585. Joanie is a loving, submissive girl who tends to let others lead while she takes everything in. She’s learning quickly and doing so well! She walks nicely on a leash, listens well for her age, is learning her commands, and is inquisitive about everything around her. She is great with dogs, cats, and kids and has such a sweet, affectionate personality. She’s doing well with potty training and will just need a family who is willing to continue helping her along with puppy training as she gets the hang of everything.

18. Cowboy

Adult · Male · Siberian Husky (medium coat)

Howdy, partner! I'm Cowboy, a handsome fella just lookin' for a place to hang my hat! I'm not some troubled lost soul either. The humans here say I'm sweet-natured, friendly, a proper gentleman and a scholar. Awwww, shucks! Some of my ornery husky cousins like to run wild and raise a ruckus, but I prefer a good, quiet afternoon curled up beside your boots or happily strollin' down the trail by your side. I'm kid-friendly and dog-friendly. I met a cat one time and wagged my tail but the jury is still deliberatin' on whether I would chase one of those varmints.
Are ya fixin' to request a formal introduction? Yee haw!! Fill out an application and mention me, Cowboy! We might just ride off into the sunset together!

19. Cochise

Adult (10 years 1 month) · Male · German Shorthaired Pointer

Cochise has arrived, is getting vetted, and settling in! We will update as we learn more about him.

Cochise is being fostered in Omaha, Nebraska.

____________________________________________________

Cochise is in need of a home after his owner passed away unexpectedly.

Cochise is described as a very sweet and biddable dog. He is very good with other dogs and has gotten along well with all of the dogs in his previous home. He is also good with children.

Cochise has a hunting background and has lived in an outdoor kennel. He is reportedly not good with cats, so a cat free foster home will be needed.

Read more about Cochise

Because Cochise has only lived in an outdoor kennel, he will need to learn how to live in a home. GPPR dogs are indoor dogs, so his foster family will need to be prepared to help him learn the routines and expectations of indoor living, including potty training. Patience will be especially important as he adjusts to a completely new environment.

We are looking for a foster home willing to give Cochise the time and patience he needs to make the transition from outdoor kennel life to living indoors.

22. Meatball

1 Year 11 Months · Male · Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler

Meet Meatball – A Whole Lot of Love in One Adorable Package! How can you resist a face (and a name!) like Meatball?! This handsome, approximately 2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog (Red Heeler) is full of personality, affection, and that unmistakable cattle-dog charm!
Meatball came into rescue through no fault of his own. His previous family lost their home and, heartbreakingly, could no longer keep him. They were devastated to say goodbye, and now we're hoping to find Meatball the loving forever family he deserves.
So, what do you need to know about this lovable guy?Meatball is in a foster home with other dogs and does well.

Read more about Meatball

He is a people dog who is comfortable around kids, loves his humans and enjoys being part of the action. Once he bonds to you, he will be affectionate, fun-loving, and has plenty of personality to keep you smiling.
Meatball has been making great progress in foster care! He is potty-trained and he has been making wonderful strides with other dogs. Meatball can sometimes come on just a tad strong when meeting new dogs. He's learning to read social cues, practice appropriate introductions, and give other dogs a little breathing room. We're so proud of the progress he's making! Meatball would do best with a laid-back, non-dominant dog who doesn't feel the need to challenge him.
Meatball's ready for adventure! Walks, games of fetch, playtime, and keeping busy are right up his alley. Like most Heelers, he's a smart, active boy who enjoys having something to do. But he's also happy to wind down and relax with his people when the day's adventures are over.
He's got a little Heeler humor! Vacuums, noisy appliances, and other household items may occasionally attract his attention. After all, someone has to keep an eye on those suspicious household objects!
Meatball is a fun, affectionate, entertaining companion who has so much love to give. He's already made great strides in foster care, and we know his perfect family is out there.
His first family loved him enough to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go when circumstances changed. Now it's our turn to help him find a family who will love him for a lifetime.
Could Meatball be your missing piece? We sure hope someone gives this sweet boy the chance he's been waiting for!
Meatball's adoption fee is $350, all of which goes back into offseting our high-cost vetting expenses and rescuing more dogs. We are a 100% volunteer-run rescue group and rely on adoption fees and donations to continue saving lives. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, current on age- appropriate vaccinations, fecal, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm preventative, heartworm tested if old enough (and treated if positive), and microchipped. Please visit http://heartlandgsrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption for more information about our adoption process and requirements, and to apply.
Like all Australian Cattle Dogs, GSDs, and other herding breeds that we have in rescue, Meatlball will need training, consistency, boundaries, and lots of activity and socialization, in order to be a well-balanced, well-behaved dog. This sweet boy would make a great addition to an active home that will provide the love, structure, good leadership, activity and mental stimulation that he needs. Because of that, Rascal's ideal owner will have prior Australian Cattle Dog, GSD, or other similar breed experience. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, please remember that you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings, in order to provide sufficient stimulation, ward off boredom, and work on leash skills and manners.

23. Betty

Adult · Female · Yellow Labrador Retriever (short coat)

Betty is a wonderful 4-year-old yellow lab. She is spayed and current on her vaccinations. Like most labs her age Betty is is an active happy silly playful girl.
Her current owner has some health issues that make the active lifestyle she needs hard. Betty has lived with another lab. Betty is not looking an active dog who will be in her face. She is use to old and slow as a housemate. She has never been around cats and would probably chase or want to play with them so let’s say no to cats to be safe.
Betty loves every person she meets with her happy wiggly butt but also will want to jump on them so a home with older kids would be better since she can clearly knock over small ones.
Beautiful Betty is housetrained and baby gated trained but has not been in a kennel for years. She is not a hunting dog as she is gun and load noise shy. Betty is a purebred lab about 60 lbs and all love.

To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $200 donation is requested at the time of adoption. Adopting a dog in Lancaster County

Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.

Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.

Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
