3. Pan Fry
Puppy · Male · Terrier · 23 mi from Robbins

Hello!
My name is Pan Fry. I was recently rescued from a busy road here in Lee County. Someone brought me to the rescue, so that I was not hit by a car. Thankfully the rescue was able to do a hold with the shelter to search for my owner, but no one ever came for me. I am very underweight so maybe I have been on my own for a while. I am estimated to be 3 years old. I am just 11 lbs. I might be some kind of terrier, but who knows! I am presenting very shy right now, I seem scared of the big world - BUT I am so sweet and loving! I melt right into your lap. Do not hesitate to ask the rescue to meet me!
4. Mr. Smee
Puppy · Male · Basset Hound · 23 mi from Robbins

Hello,
Read more about Mr. Smee
My name is Smee, I am pleased to meet you. Guess what?? You have actually just stumbled upon the most amazing little short-stack you could ever find. I am told my many of the humans at the rescue that I am a very special little man. They just can't get enough of me here. I am short like a dachshund with the head of an average size dog. I am obsessed with toys, and I am obsessed with snuggle people. I ride really well in a car, and I walk really well on leash. Except for when I decide to play tug of war with the leash hehe. I am house-trained. I do not like being in a crate, and I will whine the whole time. I do however put up with it. I love sneakily stealing shoes, but I am learning to leave it when I am caught!
I get along with dogs and kids.
I have the silliest personality and I hate being apart from people that I love. My life before rescue was basically being confined to a chain outside. I don't know how someone could not see the light in my eyes and treat me with dignity and love.

5. Andy
Puppy (11 months) · Male · Pit Bull Terrier · 23 mi from Robbins

Hello beautiful human! My name is Andy. I am around 11 months old, and a mid size, weight just around 35 lbs. Looking at my sweet face, and easy going demeanor...you would never guess where I came from. The rescue met me, when I was living in a tiny outdoor pen. I had little coverage from the hot Carolina sun, and was covered in fleas. My skin had countless open sores, scratches and my beautiful fur was mostly all gone. I was in deep pain, and despite the discomfort, I was wagging my tail and smiling BIG! The rescue took me with them when they discovered my living conditions, and after seeing a vet I am now doing so much better. My gorgeous gray coat has grown in nicely, I am healthy and just ready to start my life. I love playing with dogs, and I love people! I walk so nicely on a leash. I really can't wait to meet you! xoxo Andy, a resilient pup

6. Stanley Steamer
Puppy · Male · Terrier (short coat) · 23 mi from Robbins

I am Stanley Steamer. I came to the rescue from the local shelter! I was so scared there. It was loud and a sweet boy like me doesn't deserve to feel scared. I am super lively and playful. I would do best in a home with an active owner! I love to play with balls, jolly balls, tennis balls, it doesn't matter what kind! I would likely be great at catching a frisbee too.
I do okay with dogs but it has to be the right fit of course! I am working on not jumping on you so much. Progress! I really can't wait to meet you!! XO Stan
7. Carrot
Puppy · Female · Staffordshire Bull Terrier (short coat) · 23 mi from Robbins

My name is Carrot and I'm looking for a wonderful home to call my own. The rescue took me in as a stray dog and quickly found out how insanely sweet, smart and well behaved I am. I like to go on walks and nap. I am moderately active and will likely adapt well in most homes. I love dogs and kids ages 5 and up. No cats for me please. Ultimately I am just a good girl who deserves an amazing home.
I am just 45 lbs but I appear larger in pictures. I have a beautiful dark brindle coat.
I hope to meet you soon!!

8. Barn Door
Puppy · Male · Pit Bull Terrier · 23 mi from Robbins

Hey there! My name is Barndoor and I am so excited that you have stumbled upon my bio! You are in luck, because I am the sweetest marshmallow pup at the rescue!! I was found as a stray by a volunteer, and sadly no one ever claimed me as their own. So I have been searching for a home for some time now. The rescue has learned that I walk well on a leash, and enjoy walks. Most of the time you can find me snuggled on my bed, so I am likely a bit on the lazy side. I am definitely a favorite around the rescue, as I have been described as the SNUGGLIEST guy! Most volunteers like just sitting in my kennel, so they can get the best hugs from me.
I would do best in a home as the only dog. I do well with kids. I am roughly 4 years old, and 65 lbs.

11. Winnie
Adult (2 years) · Female · Wheaten Terrier / Schnauzer (long coat) · 32 mi from Robbins

Winnie has no idea that she’s special — but she is. To her, she’s just a happy, playful dog living her best life. Winnie was born with a cerebellum that didn’t fully develop in utero, a condition believed to be cerebellar hypoplasia. This affects her balance and gives her a uniquely wobbly, slightly unsteady way of walking. It doesn’t cause her pain, and it certainly doesn’t dim her spirit. Winnie is, without question, the happiest dog her foster family has ever met.
Read more about Winnie
For the most part, Winnie is a normal dog: she plays, she explores, she loves her people, and she radiates joy. She simply needs a family willing to love and care for her exactly as she is — wobbles and all.
Winnie would thrive in a home with another gentle dog her size or larger who can play with her, keep her company, and help her feel secure. She adores canine friends and blossoms with companionship.
Winnie is up to date on all vaccines and preventatives, has been spayed, and is microchipped. Any children in the home should be at least 8 years of age. She also requires a fenced in yard, physical fencing attached to the home
Winnie doesn’t know she’s different — she only knows she’s loved. If you’re looking for a dog who will brighten your home with pure happiness and endless heart, Winnie may be the perfect match.

12. Ernest
Adult (3 years) · Male · Terrier / Dachshund / Mixed (medium coat) · 32 mi from Robbins

Ernest is an approximately 3‑year‑old sweetheart with a calm, affectionate nature and a touch of playful confidence. He has an absolutely adorable little underbite that makes him look like he’s smiling all the time, and it suits his gentle, goofy charm perfectly. He can be a bit bossy with dogs who don’t like to listen, but in a home with well‑mannered canine companions, he settles in beautifully.
Read more about Ernest
When Ernest first arrived in foster care, he wanted to be close to his people without actually touching. With patience and reassurance, he has blossomed into a cuddler. He’ll happily stretch out on your chest for a bit before sliding over to relax right beside you. His foster family has loved watching him learn that affection is safe and comforting.
Ernest enjoys playing with the other dogs in his foster home, and he will do best in a home with at least one friendly canine companion. He thrives with dogs who are kind, confident, and not easily pushed around.
Ernest is up to date on all vaccines and preventatives, has been microchipped, and is neutered. Because of his coat type, he will require regular professional grooming, and his ideal family will have experience with maintaining a dog who needs consistent coat care.
Ernest is a gentle, loving boy who’s ready for a family that will continue helping him grow in confidence and enjoy the comfort of companionship. If you’re looking for a sweet dog with a tender heart, a playful spirit, and a smile that never quits, Ernest may be the perfect addition to your home.

14. Pebbles
Young (5 months 6 days) · Female · Beagle / Hound / Mixed (short coat) · 32 mi from Robbins

Pebbles is a young, spirited beagle girl who doesn’t let anything slow her down — not even the fact that she’s missing her right rear foot. Her veterinarian has confirmed she’s healthy and thriving; she simply needs her leg wrapped or covered with a bootie during play and outdoor time to keep it protected. Pebbles doesn’t mind one bit. She’s far too busy exploring, learning, and having fun.
This sharp little lady loves to play and has a confident, sometimes bossy streak. Because she’s a beagle with a nose that can lead her into mischief, Pebbles requires a securely fenced yard attached to the home to keep her safe during outdoor time.
Read more about Pebbles
Due to her personality, Pebbles also needs a home with one docile, friendly male dog who won’t challenge her.
Pebbles is up to date on all vaccines and preventatives, has been microchipped, and will be spayed when age‑appropriate.
Pebbles is full of potential and joy — she just needs the right home to help her shine. If you’re looking for a clever, lively companion with a whole lot of heart, Pebbles may be your perfect match.

15. Nessa
Puppy (5 months 18 days) · Female · Labrador Retriever / Giant Schnauzer / Mixed (medium coat) · 32 mi from Robbins

Meet Nessa! We think she could be a mix of Lab or Great Dane and some sort of wiry-haired terrier, but whatever she is, her paws tell us she's going to be a great big beautiful girl. Good thing she's such a sweetheart who loves to learn. Nessa requests your treats and chin scratches and she can provide giant cuddles as payment!
Read more about Nessa
In her foster home, she's house trained, knows some basic commands like sit/down, and takes treats gently. She's learning to walk politely on a leash and sleeps well in her crate at night. She loves to chase the ball, but she hasn't yet gotten the hang of bringing it back. During the day, she's still learning that her crate can be her safe place because she loves to be with people. Having another dog in the home could help her feel more confident when her people leave the house.
Nessa is current on vaccines and microchipped.

16. Hank
Adult (5 years 2 months) · Male · Beagle / Basset Hound / Mixed (short coat) · 32 mi from Robbins

Hank is a 5‑year‑old beagle mix with a heart as sweet as they come. Despite a very difficult start to life, he has held onto his gentle nature and his love for people. His past left him with permanent scarring from having his mouth cruelly tethered shut, but Hank’s spirit is remarkably intact — he greets kindness with trust, warmth, and quiet gratitude.
Read more about Hank
When he entered rescue, Hank needed extensive dental care and tested positive for heartworm. He is receiving all necessary treatment, and he will complete every step before leaving foster care. Through it all, he has remained patient, affectionate, and eager to be close to the humans who show him compassion.
Hank gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys their company. His calm, friendly demeanor makes him an easy companion, whether he’s relaxing at your feet or exploring the yard with a canine friend.
This brave boy is ready for a home where he can finally experience the safety, comfort, and love he’s always deserved. If you’re looking for a deeply sweet, resilient dog who will reward your kindness with unwavering loyalty, Hank may be the perfect match.
As a beagle, Hank requires a securely fenced yard with physical fencing attached to the home. He has been neutered, microchipped, and is fully vaccinated.

17. Joey
Young (1 year 3 months) · Male · Chihuahua / Pomeranian / Mixed (long coat) · 32 mi from Robbins

Up in the sky! Look! It's a Pomeranian! It's a Chihuahua! It's Joey! Joey is a year old, eight pound, long-haired Chi-pom mix, and his energetic personality matches this medley of furballs.
Joey was found as a stray in a cage with 6 or 7 other similar-looking dogs. He is not used to living indoors with humans, but he is slowly becoming confident. He has learned a lot in the meantime: to settle in his crate, to take walks on a leash, and to play with his toys independently.
Read more about Joey
Joey loves chasing dragonflies and army-crawling in tall grass. He loves sprinting in the yard and chewing on collagen sticks and yak cheese. He especially loves his snuffle mat!
There are a few quirks about Joey that will take patience from his future humans. Although he has learned to toilet outdoors, he hasn’t quite gotten over some handling issues. Fear and excitement cause him to have little accidents. Thankfully, he is very small and has gotten used to wearing a belly band. Joey also needs to be closely watched as he enjoys jumping from high places and will need to be discouraged from parkouring. But hey, that means he might be great for an agility course!
Joey is young and acts like a puppy, so obedience training is a must. He should not be in a home with children younger than 10. He enjoys sprinting outside and would be best in a home with a big, physically-fenced yard.

18. Etta
Adult (3 years 4 months) · Female · French Bulldog (short coat) · 32 mi from Robbins

Etta only had one reason for being wanted in her previous life- she was a breeder. Unfortunately, producing puppies for profit isn't something that also afforded her the love and care she deserved in her previous life. Etta's ears no longer stand up due to severe untreated infections. Etta chose not to compete with all of the other dogs she lived with for food, so she was underweight when she entered foster care. Despite these conditions, Etta is a total love bug. She deserves the RIGHT family to spend her days with, and that is exactly what she will have.
Read more about Etta
Etta has been spayed, micro chipped, and is up to date on all preventative medications. She also had a soft palate surgery and nasal stenosis, to help her breathe better. She has allergies, so she will require regular visits to the vet to deal with them, as needed. She will need to stay on a fatty acid and joint supplement, and will require special food and daily probiotics- for life. There is no such thing as an inexpensive French Bulldog, so please be sure you not only have the means- but the willingness, to afford her CARE. An experienced dog owner is a must (with an impeccable vet reference), preference will be given to those who are familiar with Brachycephalic breeds and the special care they require.
Etta has occasional zoomies, and she would love another dog to wrestle with (she will adjust her play to the size of her companion), and loves a leisurely early morning walk when the temperature is safe for her to be outside- but otherwise she is a snoring, snorting, flatulence filled- couch potato. She adores her people, so someone who isn't gone for long hours is a plus. When you are gone, she is crate trained and loves a stuffed kong to keep her busy. She is good with cats, but would do best with a dog savvy cat. Etta is a "private pooper", she chooses the outskirts of the yard to potty, so she requires a secure fenced in yard (physical fencing only, please) to keep up her good potty habits. All children in the home should be 10 and over, she gets a bit too excited with wee children.
For the RIGHT home, Etta will be a fabulous addition. She has spent her limited time on this earth giving everything to humans who didn't appreciate her. Now it's Etta's turn to have her needs met. We know her wish list is long, we aren't looking for average- Etta deserves the BEST.

Adopting a dog in Robbins
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
