1. Lyla

Young · Female · Coonhound / Mixed

There’s a little extra love in the air this fall, and her name is Lyla! This 45-pound coonhound mix is about 3 years old and has been waiting for a home since April. She was found as a stray in West Virginia, and now that she’s settling into foster life in Pittsburgh, we’re hoping her forever family is close by.Lyla is sweet, affectionate, and always up for a good sniff. She loves giving kisses, getting her ears rubbed, and hanging out with her people. She’ll happily try any treat you offer, takes it gently from your hand, and likes to keep a few favorite bones in her chewing rotation. She gets along beautifully with her 2-year-old foster brother and lets out a bark when she’s ready for him to join her for a romp.

Read more about Lyla

She respects his boundaries during play and is generally quiet around the house. Once she’s sniffed her way around the yard, she’s happy to settle by the window and keep tabs on the neighborhood.Like any hound with a nose for adventure, Lyla is still working on loose-leash walking and basic commands. An interesting scent can get her full attention in a hurry! She’s also figured out that kitchen counters sometimes hold snacks, so her family will want to keep food out of reach. After a little adventure, Lyla is all about the cozy life. A few treats help her settle into her crate, where she rests peacefully for naps and overnight. Give her a soft blanket and a spot on the couch, and you might find all 45 pounds of her curled into the tiniest little ball. Lyla is housebroken, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and vet care. She reportedly did well when tested with cats and children.Lyla will be available for adoption on or after November 8. If your home has room for a curious nose and a big heart, we’d love for you to meet her!Apply www.pawsacrosspittsburgh.com/adoptPaws Across Pittsburgh · Springdale, PA 15144 · KL #16182

He also walks well on a leash and is always ready for his next adventure. Roscoe is still learning some of the basics, including commands like "sit," so his future family should be excited to continue helping him learn and grow.

4. Kakashi

Adult · Male · Shiba Inu / Mixed

Toss a squeaky toy and watch Kashi light up. He’ll chase it down, carry it back with pride and ask for one more throw. This young Shiba Inu, about 2 to 3 years old, is 23 pounds of sweetness with a devotion to treats and a nose that has already discovered the joys of a snuffle mat. His growth in one month, from a pup with skin sores from a flea infection, to lovable, happy pup has been so great to see. When the toys are put away, Kashi becomes a champion napper. He rolls up in his bed, claims a spot on the couch and gladly shares a cuddle. He has a gift for winning people over. He has taken a shine to his foster mom, and he’s quick to flop onto his back for his foster dad.

Read more about Kakashi

Even a trip to the vet doesn’t rattle him. His vets gave him a 1 on their fear, anxiety and stress score and described him as very sweet and cooperative. He’s stayed in another home while his foster was on vacation and got along great with the other dogs there. He’s been to bingo night, softball games, the park, and the vet, and he’s done great in all situations. His a fairly good car passenger too, although he does want to see the world through windows.Kashi has the basics down, too. He’s housebroken, knows his name and comes when called. He’s a willing walking partner in his harness. He’s working on crate training. A treat will lead him right into his crate, and he’ll settle quickly. He does have a little separation anxiety at first, so letting him settle for the night or placing the crate where he can see the owner might help him get over some anxiety. However, his foster has left him outside of the crate during the day, and he hasn’t chewed on anything as long as food isn’t within reach.Kashi has a congenital hip condition, which gives his walk a style all its own: a skip here, a bunny hop there, and sometimes a leg held up while he stands still. None of it slows him down. And if he ever does need a surgery called a femoral head ostectomy (FHO), Paws will cover it at the hospital that diagnosed him.His skin has improved a lot as well. He arrived with skin issues from fleas, but the fleas have been treated, his skin is healing very well and his coat is growing back. He’ll stay on a steroid and an anti-fungal a little longer to keep that recovery going.Kashi is neutered, microchipped and current on rabies, distemper and bordetella. He tested negative for Lyme and heartworm and takes Heartgard and Credelio for parasite prevention. He’ll come packed with his bed, toys, leash, collar, and harness. All he needs now is a family to throw the next squeaky toy.

6. Grumpy

Adult · Male · Boston Terrier / Dachshund / Mixed

Meet Grumpy!Grumpy is an approximately 2-year-old, 15-pound, neutered male Dachshund/Boston Terrier mix with dapple and brindle markings, adorable tiny legs, a stubby tail, and a darned impressive underbite! He's kind of like a patchwork dog made of many different parts, and if you're looking for a unique and transportable best friend, you're in luck! Despite his name, Grumpy is a super affectionate little guy who truly enjoys being with people. He loves a warm lap, lounging in the sunshine (his favorite!), running around the yard, and taking his time sniffing everything along the way. He's also a smart little dog who enjoys learning new things! We're currently working on riding a skateboard, spinning, and "say please." He's been a pretty enthusiastic learner in our little training sessions! Grumpy is starting to show some interest in toys and is just beginning to figure out what play is all about. He currently lives in a foster home with other dogs and is dog tolerant, although he definitely has his preferences.

He's also curious about the resident cat but hasn't been overly focused on her or attempted to chase her. 7. Zara

Puppy · Female · Siberian Husky / Terrier / Mixed

Looking for a big, dainty, princess of a puppy? If so, stop scrolling and let me tell you a little bit about myself...My name is Zara, and I am a 10-month-old blue-eyed beautiful girl weighing in at around 55 lbs. (and likely to continue to grow a bit). As you can see, I am extremely cute and cuddly with silky soft and fluffy fur. You would be surprised how little I shed (for now, anyway.) I am told I am a husky mix. I look much more like a husky than my brothers did, but I surely don't act much like a husky. I don’t howl, dig, or try to escape. I am, however, a picky eater -- not just with food, but you also better feed me using my favorite bowl and I will only eat when I feel like it!Along with my two brothers, I was rescued from the streets of West Virginia.

Read more about Zara

We do all love being outside but certainly appreciate the beds, couches, covers, meals and treats we have become accustomed to too. But mostly we love our people!Favorite hobbies include walking, playing with plush toys, people and dog watching and relaxing. I love to play and often entertain myself by throwing my toys and zooming to get them. I like to make a game of taking a sock or slipper here and there, but I don’t destroy them. I am very interested in human food and will jump on the counter to make sure you didn’t forget anything but I promise I won’t jump on you. Other than that, for such a young pup I am calm, cool, and collected. Unlike other dogs my age I know what personal space is. I will let you cuddle me but won’t nag you for cuddles. I take treats so gently. I don’t know many commands or tricks yet, but I am such a good girl. A little training will go a long way. I don’t bolt out of the door or steps, I’m patient and know how to wait, and I’m getting better at drop it and leave it. I am amazing on a leash (if I do say so) ...just to name a few of my best qualities :)Things that need work: I’m friendly, but reserved when meeting new people (especially children). Everything is very new to me. The shelter I was rescued from said I don’t like cats, but my foster mom says I just look at them and don’t seem to want to chase. I’m interested in birds but haven’t explored chasing them.Things I’ve (mostly) perfected: I am house trained and crate trained. I’m very friendly, but need a moment to warm up with most people, and my foster mom has labeled me as a wonderful companion. If you are interested in having an all-around good girl, a sweet dog to adventure with, hug, play and walk with, apply for me today!Available through Paws Across Pittsburgh, Sprindgale, PA KL #16182

8. Ace

Young · Male · Boston Terrier / Chihuahua / Mixed

(Re)introducing Ace Ace is a ~2 year old, 17lb Boston Terrier/Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua mix who finds himself back on the market in search of a forever home. Ace was adopted this summer, but everyone realized it just wasn't the best fit for our guy. His adopters wanted the best for him and brought him back to us so that we can find him his match.Between fostering him and his adoption experience, we have a stronger understanding about what Ace needs to succeed.Ace can be described using a few "A" adjectives.ADORABLE - Duh, see his pictures for yourself. His soulful eyes, adorable face, and wagging tail - how can you not stop to stare at his cuteness?!AFFECTIONATE - If you are looking for a lap dog or snoozing buddy, Ace is your guy.

Read more about Ace

He will happily sit on or near you and soak up love.ANXIOUS - Dude is an anxious guy and needs a home that isn't loud or chaotic. He does fine meeting kids in public, but kiddos are a hard pass for day-to-day life.AGILE - True to the Jack Russell, he loves to parkour around his yard and family room. He thinks it would be cool if you put some agility equipment in your yard but just for fun - he is not interested in competition!Must Haves:QUALITY TIME - Ace is happiest when he's surrounded by his people and considers himself a professional lap dog. He will do best with a family that is home more often than not.RESIDENT DOG BUDDY - He requires another dog(s) in the home that is under 40lb. He is used to being with other dogs, and a home without another dog exacerbates his anxiety.EXPERIENCED DOG OWNER - We want someone who has solid dog experience. This cannot be your first rodeo, and it would be helpful if you have had experience with separation anxiety.NO KIDS - Young kids can make him nervous. We are seeking an adult-only home or one with teenage "kids" that will be less erratic in their movements.Ace is making progress with his potty training. He knows to go potty outside but is still marking indoors. That being said, he'll need a family committed to helping him build consistency and willing to use belly bands. With a regular routine and positive reinforcement, he'll continue to improve.Ace will make you earn his trust, but once you're in then you're his BFF. If you're looking for a loving, affectionate boy who will happily be by your side then apply for Ace today.Ace is neutered, up to date on core vaccinations, microchipped, and 4dx tested (negative for heartworm and lyme). Hi! Gidget is a very sweet short haired dachshund. She came into rescue with her sister Poppy when their mom passed away. They are very sweet plus sized ladies with lots of love to give! Gidget takes a little time to warm up to new people, but once she does she will not leave your lap! She is good in the car, is mostly pee-pad trained but still has some accidents, and will go on short walks. She does not like the crate. She would prefer to be a couch potato if allowed to do so. She will play with some toys, but prefers to wrestle with her sister. She is also great at neighborhood watch and will let you know if there is a stranger around.

Young · Female · Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed

Hello, my name is Cannoli! I’m approximately 2 years old, 40lb, and one of those super rare, super special fluffy pitties! Just look at my adorable extra fur.Do you want to burrow your face into all this soft and comforting fluff? Well you’re in luck because snuggling is my absolute favorite pastime! You’ve never met a more affectionate dog. I will let you pet me for hours. If we’re in the middle of a cuddle session and you stop petting to send a text message, I’ll nudge your hand with my nose or paw at your arm. What could you possibly have to do that’s better than loving me?I may be a couch potato, but I still love puzzle games, Kongs, lick mats, and using my nose to snuffle for my dinner.

Read more about Cannoli

I’m learning to really like my crate and will even go in there to lick my Kong or take a nap all on my own. I’m a very happy girl! This week I discovered that playing tug can be a lot of fun!I really enjoy training with my foster mom. I’m food motivated and eager to please her. I know sit like the back of my paw. I can shake and am practicing down and loose leash walking. I would love to continue my training and show you what a smart girl I am. I bet I would be great at nose work or dog sports!I walk nicely when it’s just me and my family, but I have a lot of triggers outside: bicycles, strollers, strangers running, and unknown dogs. I often lunge and bark and make a scene! The good news is my foster mom and dad say I am easy to redirect. I am still more interested in you and the treats in your pouch than scanning for triggers. I am looking for a home in a neighborhood that isn’t busy and full of triggers - and someone who is willing to be patient with me as I learn to be the goodest girl.Speaking of my ideal home, I would do best in a home with adults and older teenagers. I sometimes forget how big I really am and plop right down on your lap. I also struggle to take treats gently when I’m really excited. My foster mom thinks it’s possible that, with thoughtful introductions, I could do well with another confident medium or large dog, but she isn’t so sure about cats or small dogs. The first time I met a small dog I sniffed politely but the second time I did not play nice and had to be separated…oops! Anyways, I'd love to be your one and only but could also succeed with another dog if the fit is right. If petting soft fluff and snuggling on the couch is your jam, I would be so excited to meet you! I am spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on my core vaccines (rabies, distemper, bordetella). Apply for me today at pawsacrosspittsburgh.com/adopt. KL 16182

17. Panther

Young · Female · Cane Corso Mastiff / Labrador Retriever / Mixed

Meet Panther! Your very own little shadow with a BIG heart! At just 10 months old and weighing in at 56 pounds, Panther is a beautiful, all-black furred gal who has so much love to give. Her favorite kind of day includes people watching and a car ride with her head out of the window. Maybe a good ol' fashioned pup cup to reward her for being a good girl, and after that she is content to chill and absorb all of the love she can for the rest of the day. Although she is not much of a couch girl as of now, she will be sure to have her head resting on your lap or her belly in the air for some belly rubs (which are her ultimate favorite).Panther can be a litte shy at first.

Read more about Panther

She is working on building some confidence and beginning to realize that she won't be in trouble for simply being herself. She is a little unsure of men at first, but don't let that fool you! She warms up once she feels comfortable, which takes all about five minutes. Panther is not interested in toys, but she is very treat motivated. She already knows sit, paw, lay down, roll over and is pretty good at stay. Her recall is great. She is also crate trained, house trained and rarely jumps on people. Who says you need a tiny puppy when you can have this beautiful, 56-pound lovebug who's already got the basics down?!When it comes to other dogs, Panther would likely be happiest as the only pup in the home, where she can soak up all of the love and attention for herself. However, she may be able to share her space with a calm, compatible dog with proper introductions as she does not care for the high energy play style from the other dog in her foster home. 18. Albie

Adult · Male · Boxer / Bulldog / Mixed

Meet Albie! Hi there! My name is Albie. I’m 8 years young, 53 pounds, and full of charm. I’m a handsome black-and-white Boxer/Bulldog/Terrier mix with the cutest bouncy walk that will make you smile every time I head your way.Fun fact about me: "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain was originally written with me in mind. "The strands in your eyes that color them wonderful stop me and steal my breath...I'll be your crying shoulder.... I"ll be the greatest fan of your life." Think about it...my eyes are beautiful and unique.I'll Be = ALBIE = your crying shoulderI'll Be = ALBIE = the greatest fan of your lifeYou should know that I happen to be partially blind.

My eyesight isn't perfect, but don’t let that fool you. I get around great and love running and playing in the yard with my medium-sized dog friends. I’m proof that a little visual impairment doesn’t have to slow down a happy guy like me! I do need daily eyedrops to keep my eyes cared for, so my forever family should be comfortable with that part of my routine.I’m a big fan of stuffies, too. My favorite thing is carrying my toys around in my mouth like my own little treasures. You know what else I treasure? A cozy spot on the couch or on your lap. Quality snuggle time is the greatest - I love to lay next to you with my head in your lap. I'm partway potty trained - I go outside a lot, but sometimes I go inside if you don't take me out often enough. I’m looking for a family who will appreciate my adorable bounce, celebrate my happy spirit, and make sure I have a soft place to land at the end of the day. I'd prefer a fenced in yard and another medium sized dog in the home. If you don't have a fenced in yard, please be willing to use a stake and long lead with me.I'm a sweet, joyful boy ready to find his forever home and fill it with stuffies, snuggles, and lots of love. It's safe to say that I'll be ("Albie") the greatest fan of your life. Will you be mine right back?I'm current with my vaccines, neutered, and microchipped. 19. PA/Brittany

Adult (7 years 3 months) · Female · Brittany / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Brittany a sweet, gentle, and adorable 7 year old female Brittany mix currently in a great foster home in Eastern PA, whose dreaming of a Forever Home!
Brittany came to NBRAN after a rural shelter in Tennessee tried unsuccessfully to find her owners.
Brittany is a gentle, easygoing girl who gets along wonderfully with adults, children, and other dogs. Cats are unknown. She is especially patient with young children and has a very submissive temperament. She loves being around her people and is happiest when she can curl up nearby for a nap or enjoy some pets and snuggles.
Unlike many Brittanys, Brittany is a relatively low-energy dog who doesn’t require a ton of exercise or activity to be content. She enjoys leisurely walks and spending time with her family, but is just as happy relaxing around the house. She hasn’t shown much interest in toys or chew bones, as she prefers human companionship instead.
Brittany is house trained, walks nicely on a leash, and sleeps soundly through the night in her crate. She has adjusted well to her foster family’s routine and is a wonderful companion around the house.
Like many rescue dogs, Brittany does have a few things she’s working on. She does experience separation anxiety and will need to be crated when left home alone. She also occasionally mouths when she gets excited. Her foster family has been working with her on this behavior, and she has already made good progress, although continued reinforcement will be important.
Brittany’s ideal forever home would be one where someone is home much of the day, such as a family with a work-from-home schedule or retirees looking for a loving companion. Because she thrives on being near her people and struggles with being left alone, she would not be the best fit for a household where everyone is away for long stretches each day.
Brittany has so much love to give and is truly a wonderful, gentle companion. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate dog who will happily keep you company throughout the day, Brittany may be the perfect addition to your family!
Brittany is spayed, current on vaccines, heartworm negative, on prevention and microchipped. Additionally, like many older dogs, Brittany also has a small lipoma on her rear leg, which may need removed if it becomes bothersome to her. Brittany's adoption fee is 350.00 which will help NBRAN cover the vetting costs and other expenses associated with bringing Brits like Brittany back to good health and readying them for adoption.
If you’re ready to consider making Brittany part of your family, please submit an adoption application here: https://nbran.org/adopt/adoption-application Once your application is submitted the coordinator in the State where you reside will follow-up with you. Need to reach your State Coordinator, find their contact information here https://nbran.org/about/state-provincial-coordinators Don't live in PA or close by, No Problem! NBRAN also has a wonderful transport team willing to help bring Brits like Brittany to their new family, up to 1400 miles with the adoptive family being responsible for the last 100 miles, at no additional fee. Adult · Female · Hound / Mixed

Meet DJ! This beautiful 4.5-year-old mixed breed weighs 68 pounds and is one BIG lovebug. DJ thrives with structure, training, and one-on-one attention, and she absolutely loves being with her people. She’s incredibly affectionate, cuddly, and friendly with both adults and children. Her vets adore her and have left wonderful comments in her chart, and she consistently gets great reports from the kennel when her family travels.DJ is a smart, energetic girl who can be a lot of dog in the best way. She’s excitable and enthusiastic, especially when meeting new people or dogs, and she loves BIG. With structure and guidance, she settles nicely and enjoys relaxing with her family.

Read more about DJ fka Taylin

She is comfortable being crated during the workday and sometimes will even choose to hang out in her crate with the door open. At night, she loves sleeping with her family.DJ is very devoted to her people and loves being involved in whatever her family is doing. She does best with clear boundaries, consistency, and plenty of positive attention. She needs a securely fenced yard, and if a secure yard isn't available, she will need to be constantly leashed when outside. DJ would do best in a home without cats or small animals like rabbits and chickens, as those types of animals naturally bring out her instinct to chase.DJ would likely thrive as the only pet in a home where she can soak up all the love and attention for herself. While she is wonderful with children, she would love to be the center of her family's world, so a home without young children—or possibly with older, dog-savvy teens—would be ideal. Her perfect family will appreciate a big personality, enjoy training, provide structure and exercise, and have plenty of love and attention to give her.DJ has so much love to give and is looking for someone who will give her the same in return. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and is available for adoption now. 24. SC/Dobie

Young (11 months) · Male · Brittany / Mixed (medium coat)

EASY KEEPER BESTIE! What does that mean?

THE DOBIE GREY

Allow me to explain what I mean.

Read more about SC/Dobie

Dobie is perfection when it comes to a content dog. Nearing 11 months old with an impeccable disposition and joy detected in his blood work results.
Dobie is one of the happiest dogs I’ve ever met. He doesn’t have an off switch because Dobie doesn’t really have an on switch. He’s content with simply being alive. Despite having endured and surviving whatever tragedy that took place to cause such harm to him, resulting in a full leg amputation, one would never know. Mentally, Dobie is rock solid. Balanced as balances should and could be for a dog. He’s stable, 100%.
Dobie really likes other dogs. I have big dogs. My smallest dog is an almost 12 year old 52lb Alpha Labrador mix. Largest dog is 153lb goofball English Mastiff. Dobie’s bestie here is my amazing larger than life 72lb Bulldog Terrier “Cow” wrecking ball cow puppy who often as possible steals Dobie’s toys.

Dobie is a complete charmer. He lives to love. He LOVES people. Walks like a grande champion on leash. Loves a potpourri of toys, is not destructive and car rides are winning lottery tickets. Dobie is a perfect copilot.

Dobie has a gentle mouth. He is not a grabber or a snapper. Dobie is very intelligent, easy to teach and his listeners work exceptionally well.

Dobie has one hesitation, slippery floors. Here Dobie has a sure “yellow brick road”. I have placed a path of nonslip runners for his path for when we go outside. Once outside Dobie moves about with complete confidence.

I do not have a cat or cats to test Dobie with. We do have loud obnoxious Hens to which Dobie does not even change his body language when those Hens start their noisy nonsense.

Secure fenced yard would be best for Dobie to wander about while out for potty and play. Living indoors with minimal steps would be best considering he’s a perma pirate sporting his Tripaw status. Dobie does not object to being carried when a situation requires him to be picked up. He will melt into arms for cuddles.

Dobie knows exactly how to behave in a kennel and crate (42 inch crate) and won’t object to having to be kenneled as long as there is a nonslip pad under his paws.

Dobie is happy and he is gentle. He is a complete easy and joy filled walk in the park type of dog. At 11 months old Dobie has a long life ahead and would greatly appreciate sharing life with kind and loving human(s) that desire an easy keeper. He would be a phenomenal vacation dog. I don’t believe Dobie should be expected to hike a mountain, run a 5k or walks for endless miles, but dog carts and strollers are Dobie approved and then some. Dobie loves just hanging around and loves the outdoors while out on visits to meet new humans.

Because Dobie is a Tripaw, I don’t believe a forever family with toddlers would be his ideal forever.

Dobie is up to date on all vaccinations, is neutered, and heartworm negative. He is current on his monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. A clear fecal and a negative 4DX with good bloodwork are part of his health history.

33.12lbs of absolute loving joy.

Bonus -

Dobie is a perfect candidate as a therapy dog. He would love to visit those in need of tender loving joy. He wouldn’t object to being famous while trading some pets and extra love. Dobie’s adoption fee is $350. He is currently located in SC & can be transported up to 1400 miles via the NBRAN Canine Railroad. For more information, contact Karen Carr kecarr72@icloud.com.

Hey Everyone, I’m Bear a very handsome active and full of life 10 year old Liver & White neutered male searching for the right place to call Home Forever!
Right now, I’m enjoying the good life in a great foster home here in Northeast Ohio where I get to run and play with my 2 furry foster bros. I also get plenty of cuddles and lap time with my foster Mom, who thinks I’m just the smartest most wonderful boy around! Don’t be fooled by age either, as I’m no cough potato and act way younger then my age.
And speaking of smart, I know how to sit, stay, high five, down and go over. I’m a good boy and know not to destroy anything, even though I love toys especially the ones that squeak.

26. TN/Hank Jr

Young (1 year 8 months) · Male · French Brittany (medium coat)

Greetings, Humans! I'm Hank Jr!

Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Hank, a dashing 18-month-old French Brittany with movie-star looks, a comedian's timing, and ears expertly designed for maximum adorability.

At a lean and athletic 30 pounds, I'm the perfect size for adventures, couch cuddles, and showing off my zoomies in a fenced backyard. Everyone tells me I'm handsome, but I try to stay humble. (It's difficult when you're this cute.)

Read more about TN/Hank Jr

Life has been teaching me lots of new things. I didn't have much experience with grass before coming to my foster home, so I've been learning the fine art of outdoor potty etiquette. I'm almost completely house-trained and working hard toward earning my "100% Good Boy" certificate.

I can be a little shy when meeting new people or hearing loud noises. Think of me as a sensitive soul with a big heart. Once I trust you, you'll discover that I'm affectionate, silly, and always ready to make you laugh.

My résumé includes:

Professional leash walker

Excellent passenger on car rides

Certified Dog Treat Specialist

Milk-Bone Enthusiast

Non-destructive house guest

Expert snuggle recipient

I'd especially love a canine sibling to help me navigate this big exciting world. A fenced yard would be my dream playground, and a patient family willing to cheer me on as I continue building confidence would make me the happiest boy alive.

In return, I promise loyalty, laughter, companionship, and approximately one million loving looks per year.

So, what do you think? Could your family use a handsome little sidekick with a goofy grin and a heart of gold?

My adoption fee is $400 to help offset the expenses associated with getting me (and other fabulous, rescued Brittanys) in excellent condition for a fabulous new home. 27. UT/Bella

Senior (11 years 4 months) · Female · Brittany (short coat)

Miss Bella is a lovely lady who is estimated to be between 10-12 years old weighing about 27lbs. Even though Bella is a senior, she does need her daily walk. She is currently walking 1-2 miles daily, after which she is content to sleep and relax the rest of the day. She is a love sponge and will happily accept your pets and if you’re lucky some couch cuddles. She is good with other dogs in the home and would do well with a playmate, but she would also love to be the apple of your eye having your undivided attention during her golden years.

Read more about UT/Bella

Bella is potty trained and has done well being left alone in the house with her dog sister. While she has good house manners overall, she is a bit of an opportunist and if there is unattended food on the table or counter, she will do a bit of counter surfing to go after it.

Like most Brittanys, Bella enjoys looking at and stalking birds and squirrels and needs a home with a yard that is secured by a 6 ft fence to patrol and chase small critters. She is not a jumpy dog and loves meeting new people and gets very excited playing with her humans.

Bella is an absolute sweetheart who melts the hearts of everyone she meets. If you’re looking for a golden girl who will love you to the moon and back, look no further than this bundle of joy.

Bella is spayed, current on her vaccinations and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200 ($150.00 for a senior). If you are interested in making Bella a member of your family, and have the time, energy, and love to give her, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the online adoption application form under the Adopt tab. A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process. For more information after completing an application, contact Patti at 801.641.4053. Hi Everyone, Meet Caillou! 4 years old. 40lbs. 100% his own dog. Originally a NYC pup, he is now in Pittsburgh and embracing the life as a yinzer in the suburbs. Caillou is a Heinz 57 special — pit bull, Jack Russell Terrier, Basset Hound, and Vizsla — which basically means he inherited every ounce of energy, curiosity, and stubbornness those breeds have to offer. He sniffs everything, notices everything, and has the kind of brain that needs a job. He will absolutely steal your socks so maybe a laundry attendant could be a good job for him? But he’s also the dog who greets you by leaning his whole body into your legs like a cat, plays with his paws splayed wide like a happy little weirdo.

Adopting a dog in Clarion County

Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.

Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.

Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
