1. Jolene
Adult · Female · Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

Miss Jolene is all ready to find a place to call home! She is up to a healthy weight and her skin infection is all healed up! Jolene is about 2-3 years old and a beautiful brindle with the coolest markings. Jolene enjoys being with her people - she would love a lap to lay across or someone to take her for casual walks so she can sniff the ground. Jolene has done great with the female dog in her foster home after a proper shutdown. Her preference would be a laid back dog should she have to share space with another 4 legged friend. Jolene went from a dog starving on the streets of Philly, to a dog enjoying the warmth of a home. We are still working on her housebreaking as she occasionally still has accidents in her crate. Now that her body is properly processing her food, she is able to hold it longer. Jolene will be spayed next week and is up to date on vaccines.

2. Krypto
Young · Male · Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Krypto!
This handsome boy is ready to find his happily ever after, and we think someone is going to hit the jackpot with this kid!
Krypto came to us from ACCT Philly a few weeks ago after being diagnosed with pneumonia as a result of the respiratory infection circulating through the shelter. Thankfully, he's on the mend and ready to start enjoying the good things in life!
At approximately 8 months old and 45 lbs, Krypto is the perfect combination of goofy puppy and professional snuggle bug. Here's what you need to know about this handsome newcomer:
Dog friendly! Krypto enjoys the company of other dogs.
Read more about Krypto
Almost housebroken! He's about 90% there. You just need to pay attention to his signals. When he starts walking in circles, that's his way of saying, "Ummm, I need to go outside!"
Toy destroyer extraordinaire! If it squeaks, crinkles, or looks remotely fun, consider it a goner. Indestructible toys are definitely going to be your best investment with this guy!
Puppy zoomies included! He's still a youngster, so expect some silly antics and bursts of energy.
️ Crate trained! He knows how to settle in when it's time for a break.
❤️ Professional snuggler! And this is where Krypto really steals your heart. After all the zoomies, toy demolition, and puppy shenanigans, what he wants most is YOU. Human contact, cuddles, and being close to his people are his favorite things.
Krypto is still a puppy, so he'll need a family willing to continue working with him, provide plenty of playtime, and help him grow into the amazing adult dog we know he's going to be.
If you're looking for a best friend who will make you laugh, keep you entertained, and happily take over your couch (and probably your heart), Krypto might just be your guy!

3. Newt
Adult · Male · Chihuahua / Mixed (medium coat)

Just look at this face!!
That scruffy little beard, those adorable ears, and that Halloween outfit? Newt is serving up ALL the cuteness!
This handsome, tri-colored Chihuahua mix came to Outcast Rescue from ACCT Philly after being found as a stray. We don't know what his life looked like before rescue, but we know this little guy deserves a future filled with love, comfort, and a family to call his own.
A few things you should know about Newt:
He's approximately 2 years old.
He may take a little time to decide you're worthy of his awesomeness.
Once he warms up, you'll have yourself a devoted little lap buddy!
Read more about Newt
He absolutely LOVES other dogs, so a canine companion would be a big bonus!
He's fully vaccinated, microchipped, on preventatives, and 4DX negative.
Newt might not be the kind of guy who immediately runs up to every stranger he meets, but give him a little patience, let him get to know you, and you just might find yourself with a tiny, scruffy shadow who wants nothing more than to be by your side.
He's got the beard, the ears, and the personality potential to be your next favorite little sidekick. All he's missing is YOU!

4. Suzie & Blanca
Senior · Female · Chihuahua / Dachshund / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Suzie & Blanca, an approximately 10-year-old bonded pair of Chiweenie sisters who came to Outcast Rescue a few weeks ago after their owner was moving into assisted living and could no longer bring them along
These two sweet senior girls have already been through a huge change, and through it all, they’ve had each other. We are determined to help them keep it that way.
They are bonded and we would like to keep them together.
Both are house trained — they go outside and are also pad trained.
They are good with other dogs.
They currently live with a child.
They still enjoy wrestling and playing together.

They have a little weight to lose, and they’re already well on their way!
They are now up to date on their vaccines.
Next week, both girls will be getting dentals so those senior teefers can be clean, healthy and shiny!
We know asking someone to adopt two senior dogs together is a big ask. We know their perfect family will need to have room in their home — and in their heart — for both of them.
But after everything these girls have been through, we truly believe their senior years should be spent side by side.
They've already lost the home they knew. We don't want them to lose each other, too.
If you have room in your heart and home for Suzie AND Blanca, we would love to hear from you.

5. Tofu
Adult · Female · Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

Tofu Survived the Unthinkable — Now She’s Ready for Her Next Chapter
Tofu survived the unthinkable.
She was found alone along a creek in Philadelphia—starved, unable to get up, and covered in pressure sores that were almost down to the bone. When she first came to us, we weren't sure what her future would look like. But Tofu had something we couldn't measure on a scale or in a medical chart: she wanted to live.
And look at her now.
This girl is flourishing.
Read more about Tofu
As she has healed and gained strength, we've gotten to know the dog underneath all that suffering—and she is pretty incredible. We were actually surprised to discover that someone, at some point in her life, had taken the time to train Tofu. She knows her basic commands and wants to please.
Tofu has just finished a heat cycle and still has a little weight to gain before she can safely be spayed. Because of that, we are looking for a local foster-to-adopt home where she can continue to thrive while we get her to the finish line.
And when we say LOCAL, we mean it.
We are looking for a home within approximately one hour of our veterinary offices in PA or NJ so we can continue to monitor her progress and make sure she gets everything she needs.
What we've learned about Tofu:
She LOVES routine and does best when she knows what to expect.
About 2 years old
She knows her basic commands!
She can live with other low-energy dogs, with the proper introduction.
She will absolutely need a shutdown/decompression period when entering a new home. She has been through enough, and we don't want her coming into a new environment thinking she immediately runs the roost.
Her biggest downfall? Counter surfing.
But tell this girl "NO" and she gets it.
Tofu doesn't need someone to save her anymore.
She needs someone to finish the job.
Someone willing to give her the routine, patience, stability and love that will allow her to continue becoming the dog we always knew was hiding underneath the trauma.
She has fought incredibly hard to get here. Now we'd love nothing more than to watch her flourish in a home of her own.

6. Picasso
Adult · Male · Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Picasso — the reformed “bull in a china shop” turned certified beefcake.
Picasso came to us from ACCT Philly several months ago weighing a heartbreaking 110 pounds with absolutely zero manners. At the time, this 7-year-old pitbull terrier mix was the definition of chaos wrapped in love. Since then, he has worked incredibly hard and officially reached his goal weight of 80 pounds — and honestly… he looks GOOD.
Read more about Picasso
This handsome guy is neutered, microchipped, 4DX negative, up to date on vaccines including Lepto, and on monthly preventatives. He is crate trained, walks nicely on leash, and recently completed a 3-week board and train with Gypsy 9 to help set him up for success in his forever home.
Picasso is a dog who absolutely adores his people. He is affectionate, clingy, and fully believes he is a 10-pound lap dog despite being built like a linebacker. Belly rubs, naps across your lap, and soaking up attention are his specialties. He also loves moose antlers and treat puzzles — especially anything durable because this boy is an aggressive chewer.
Now for Picasso’s perfect match:
• He must be the only pet in the home. While he initially had a good dog meet at the shelter, repeated attempts at introductions and training showed that Picasso truly prefers to fly solo.
• He has a sun sensitivity caused by years of sun exposure and his lack of pigmentation. He will need sunscreen and a sun shirt for outdoor adventures to prevent painful skin flare-ups.
• He is not a fan of squeaky toys or high-pitched sounds like smoke detectors or bike horns.
What Picasso offers in return is endless affection and unwavering loyalty. He deserves a home that wants HIM and only HIM — and trust us, he is more than enough dog to fill your heart.

Adopting a dog in Lehigh County
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.
