Meet Laverne
This sweet girl came to us from MADACC in Milwaukee. We don't know much about her past but her future is going to be great!!
Read more about Laverne
Her first day in foster she was already comfortable with the other dogs. She is all about walks and being outside if the weather is nice. Where does see sleep? Well, we tried the kennel but she wasn't a fan. Instead Laverne used the doggie steps and found her way to foster mom's bed. She is so sweet and snuggly we don't mind at all.
We never have to ask where is Laverne because she is always right by your side or near your feet. She's doing great with potty training and she's a good little eater.
Let's talk about her cutest feature those ears. Man she tells stories with them. One time there both up. Sometimes one is high and one is low. So adorable!!!
Apply for Laverne today. You will be glad you did!!! She's the total package!!

Bio: MEET HERSHEY! A little dog with a LOT of potential!
Hershey came to us from MADACC, a Milwaukee shelter, and we're learning more about his story every day. ❤️
Read more about Hershey
Hershey came from a hoarding situation with approximately 30 other dogs. That means the world as most of us know it is still pretty new to him. He's missed out on a lot of the things other dogs take for granted. Basic training, confidence, socialization, and learning how to navigate life in a home are all things he'll need help with.
But here's what we're already seeing... Hershey WANTS to learn!
In the short time he's been with us, we've seen that spark. That curiosity. That little bit of drive that tells us he's ready to figure this whole world out. He just needs someone willing to show him the way.
Hershey isn't a finished product. He's a work in progress, and that's okay! He'll need patience, consistency, encouragement, and someone who understands that confidence isn't built overnight.
But imagine being the person who gets to watch him discover all the things he's been missing. The first time he realizes he can do something new. The first time he tackles something that once scared him. The first time he truly believes in himself.
That's the magic of giving a dog like Hershey a chance.
He has so much potential, and we cannot wait to see what he becomes with a little love, a lot of patience, and someone in his corner.
Could you be Hershey's person?

Honestly, she doesn't care what you're doing, as long as she's doing it with you!
Winnifred loves EVERYONE, including kids, and firmly believes personal space is completely unnecessary.
She's still working on her leash manners because apparently "going for a walk" translates to "FULL SPEED AHEAD!" in Winnifred's world. She does ride nicely in the car, though. Being a Passenger princess is her second job.

Meet Ruthie, a Louisiana girl looking for her happily ever after!
Ruthie traveled many miles all the way from Louisiana with one big hope: finding the loving forever family she so very much deserves.
Read more about Ruthie
This beautiful, blue-eyed girl came from a small shelter where opportunities to be seen were limited. She waited there for over two months before finally getting her chance to make the journey to Wisconsin and begin a new chapter. Now, we're determined to help her find the happy ending she's been waiting for!
Ruthie is a shy girl who is still learning that the world can be a wonderful place. She'll need continued socialization, patience, and understanding as she learns to feel safe and confident. Having another confident, friendly dog in her forever home could be a huge benefit, giving her a furry friend to follow, learn from, and look to for reassurance.
The best part? She's already beginning to come out of her shell! In the short time she's been with her foster family, Ruthie has started venturing out to observe all the hustle and bustle of her busy foster home. She's taking it all in at her own pace, and when the world gets a little overwhelming, you can find her favorite safe spot: the comfy recliner. ❤️
We know confidence won't happen overnight, but we're hopeful that with each passing day, Ruthie will continue to discover just how wonderful life can be. She may not be the girl who runs up to everyone right away, but sometimes the most rewarding friendships are the ones that take a little time to bloom.
Now, we're looking for someone special. Someone patient, kind, and willing to let Ruthie blossom at her own pace. Someone who understands that earning her trust is a journey worth taking and that beneath those gorgeous blue eyes is a girl with so much potential.
Ruthie has waited long enough for her chance. Could you be the person who finally shows her what forever love feels like?
Apply to adopt Ruthie today and help this sweet Louisiana girl write the next chapter of her happily ever after!

Biff is proof that the best things in life come with a wagging tail and a head full of curls. This handsome 8-year-old poodle mix is an absolute sweetheart who has quickly won hearts with his gentle personality and affectionate nature. His little tail seems to have only one speed: nonstop wagging!
Biff has been a perfect gentleman in his foster home. He's doing great in his kennel, knows how to use a doggy door, and loves nothing more than curling up beside his people for a cozy nap. He walks beautifully on a leash, enjoys car rides, and is always happy to tag along for whatever adventure the day brings.
As Biff settles in, he does wear a belly band, especially with several other dogs around, but so far he has been wonderfully well-mannered indoors. He's taking all these changes in stride and showing everyone what a sweet, easygoing companion he is.
Biff has been diagnosed with Cushing's disease, which will require ongoing medication management. He has a veterinary appointment on Monday to determine the best treatment plan moving forward. One side effect of Cushing's is an increased appetite, and Biff definitely loves his snacks! His future family will need to help manage his diet, but the good news is that he absolutely loves toys, making them a perfect reward and enrichment tool.
If you're looking for a loyal snuggle buddy, a great passenger for car rides, and a loving companion with a heart as big as his appetite, Biff might just be your perfect match. ❤️

Thankfully, these babies were given a fighting chance. They were bottle-fed and lovingly cared for until they were old enough to safely make the journey to Wisconsin, where their next chapter and forever families await.

️ Just in time for Pumpkin Spice season… meet SPICE! ️
She may not come in a latte form, but she is warm, sweet, comforting & guaranteed to make everything better! ☕️
Read more about Spice
Spice is an approximately 9-month-old petite Husky mix with breathtaking eyes & the most beautiful, gentle spirit. She can be a little shy at first, but once she decides you’re safe, congratulations… you’ve officially gained a shadow for life!
Spice isn’t simply a Velcro dog!
She’s a full-blown SUPERGLUE DOG who wants to be as close to her people as physically possible!!!
Even with all that devotion, she’s doing wonderfully in her kennel while her foster family is away!
Occasionally, she’ll sing the song of her Husky people to briefly express her disapproval, but her dramatic protest lasts less than a minute & doesn’t even happen every time. She just needs her objection formally noted before settling in
Spice is incredibly sweet & submissive with other dogs. She does the most precious little crawl toward them as if to say, “I promise I’m safe & friendly!” Once she knows everyone is comfortable, she absolutely loves to play!
She’s still young & working on potty training, so she’ll need a patient family willing to continue helping her learn. In return, Spice will give you endless snuggles, unwavering devotion & more love than her petite little body should be able to hold.
Forget the latte… this is the Spice everyone needs this season

Bio:
YUKON CORNELIUS IS BACK… AND HE HAS A LOT TO SAY ABOUT IT. ❤️
Read more about Yukon
Remember this adorable little red pup from our Rudolph/reindeer litter back in December 2025? Meet Yukon Cornelius! He was the only red pup in the litter, which made him pretty unforgettable. He also came with a healthy dose of puppy sass and a personality all his own.
Fast forward about 8 months, and Yukon is now a 10-month-old, 40-ish-pound pup who has found his way back to OPARI and is starting over in his search for his forever family.
Yukon was returned to us because of food aggression. And while we absolutely take any concerns about aggression seriously, we also believe in giving dogs the opportunity to decompress, learn, be evaluated in a new environment, and be set up for success.
So naturally… where did Yukon land?
A foster home with SEVEN other dogs.
Yep. Seven. Dogs of different ages, sizes and personalities.
And guess what?
Yukon has been doing really, really well.
He has butted heads with one of the dogs over bones, but he's been easily corrected and has had no issues with the other six. He's been allowed to enjoy toys, treats and bones with his furry foster siblings under supervision. Meals are fed separately—which, let's be honest, is pretty standard practice in a multi-dog foster home anyway.
He's also absolutely loving the kids in his foster home and apparently has forgotten to inform his brain that he's no longer a tiny puppy because he still firmly believes he's a lap dog.
In fact, Yukon has been surprisingly timid, nervous and even submissive at times as he's settled into his new environment.
He's snuggly with his people, gets the evening puppy zoomies before bedtime, kennels like a champ, and is doing wonderfully with his potty routine.
Basically… the Yukon we remember is still in there. He's just a little bigger, a little older, and probably experienced some things along the way.
And there is one more VERY important part of Yukon's story that we want to talk about.
VETTING AND MONTHLY PREVENTION MATTER.
We know some people think rescues are "too picky" when we ask about current vaccines and consistent parasite prevention for existing pets. We aren't trying to be difficult. We're trying to protect the animals.
Preventing a preventable illness is almost always better—and kinder—than treating it after the fact. Being sick can also mean pain, discomfort and stress, and yes… even a normally happy dog can be pretty cranky when he doesn't feel good.
Unfortunately, Yukon came back to us not current on his vaccines or preventatives and immediately tested positive for Lyme disease. Thankfully, he isn't currently showing symptoms and is receiving treatment.
So please, for the love of your pets, keep those vaccines and monthly preventatives current. ❤️
As for Yukon?
He's ready to put the past behind him.
He's ready to learn.
He's ready to snuggle.
He's ready to zoom.
He's ready to be someone's ridiculously adorable, occasionally goofy, 40-pound lap dog.
Most importantly, he's ready for his forever family.
We know food guarding is something that needs to be taken seriously, and any adopter will need to be committed to continuing appropriate management and training. But we also believe dogs deserve the chance to show us who they are—not just the worst thing that has ever happened.
And Yukon is showing us that he's a pretty darn good boy. ❤️
Let's find this former Christmas puppy the forever home he's been waiting for.
Yukon Cornelius is ready for his next chapter. Who wants to be part of it? ❤️

20. Calvin
Puppy · Male · Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat)

Name: Calvin
Age: 9 months
Breed: stumpy little chi mix
Gender: male
Weight: 9.5 lbs
Spice level: ️️
Missing limbs: right rear
Good with kids: older recommeded if any
Good with dogs: yes
Good with cats: unknown
Current on vaccinations: Yes
Fixed: Yes
Adoption also includes Certified Vet Inspection, and Prior vetting paperwork.
Foster location: Green Bay
Application & Website: https://www.ourpackanimalrescue.com/adoption.html
Bio: Reislience has a (handsome) face! Calvin was found as a pup with a fractured femoral head of unknown origin. Amputation was his best chance at a normal life, and please believe that missing leg stops him from NOTHING!
Read more about Calvin
Calvin has no trouble navigating a couple stairs, flying across the yard, or getting onto lower furniture. As is the need for limb removal wasn’t enough for a young dog to endure, he also underwent cherry eye repair at the same time. Now, its just soulful and healthy brown eyes staring at you adoringly!
While he is a doggy pal loving sweet snuggle bug, Calvin also comes with his quirks.
He can be very stubborn and is set in his ways for a youngster.
Calvin walks well on a leash, but if theres someone he wants to meet and you keep try to keep strolling- not happening. He’ll give a good screech and plant his feet, and you will be making that person’s acquaintance!
He is also not a fan of other dogs near him when he is ready to crash. He enjoys resting/sleeping in a kennel and will get grumpy with any dogs who bug him while he is snuggled in on the furniture. (Who could blame him?!)
Once he’s had his rest, he is ready to romp around with doggy pals and play with toys once again!
Calvin doesn’t bark often- but will if he is getting amped with another dog. If you share a wall with neighbors this is something to keep in mind if he wouldn’t be a solo dog.
Calvin loves car rides and does well going to work with foster mom. He is great at meeting new people, but is mouthy when he gets super excited. He is working hard on more polite play, but it may be best if he did not live with young children at this time.
Calvin doesn’t much like nail trims, but will pose we like a pro for every photo your heart desires, and is top notch company!

21. Ruthie
Female · Siberian Husky / Belgian Shepherd Malinois / Mixed

COURTESY POST - This dog will not be adopted through ABMR - Please contact owner (information at bottom of this bio)
Ruthie
is an amazing dog. She's super sweet and smart and we love her. She loves to play fetch at the dog park (watching her run is amazing!) or even in the living room with her favorite toy. She loves long walks and is great on a leash. She is totally housebroken and doesn't have accidents or destroy stuff in the house. She's an excellent watchdog and guards us from everything ;-)
Read more about Ruthie
We adopted
Ruthie
from the Chicago Anti-Cruelty Society 3 years ago as a tiny puppy, one of 12 in a litter left under a bridge. Our youngest dog has been bugging
Ruthie
for fun and play, which she loves for a while -- but eventually she asserts herself as alpha and has bitten her dog sibling a few times. She's had no problems with our other, more submissive dog. But since we also have little kids we're concerned.
Heartbroken, we know she'd be happier in a home without all our chaos -- other dogs, little kids, cats, etc. -- a solo dog with an active, loving family. Whoever adopts her will be very lucky indeed.
If interested in adopting Ruthie, please email Nell at

Read more about Rigsby
He will need a review of basic manners such as sit, stay, and down. Rigsby is strong and tends to pull hard while on walks - which he loves! He has done well sleeping in a kennel at night. Any person could kidnap him just by opening a car door, so we know he would be your best pal on a roadtrip!
Rigsby is not slowed down at all with his amputation, he has figured life out just fine on 3 legs.

23. Nitro
Young (1 year) · Male · Belgian Shepherd Malinois

Meet Nitro ~ A Young Pup Ready to Light that Fire in your Heart
True to his name, Nitro is an energetic puppy full of heart and unlimited potential. He is the total package.
Nitro is absolutely stunning. His striking good looks, expressive face, and athletic build turn heads wherever he goes. But it's his affectionate nature, loyal heart, and genuine desire to connect with his people that make him truly special.
Read more about Nitro
At under a year old, this incredibly handsome Belgian Malinois is everything you could hope for in a young dog. Friendly with people, social with other dogs, and deeply devoted to his person, Nitro is the kind of companion who wants to be part of everything you do.
Still very much a puppy, Nitro is a happy guy who approaches life with enthusiasm and curiosity. Not unusual for his breed, Nitro shows his excitement with playful “clacking”. Whether he's chasing a ball, proudly carrying around his favorite Kong toy, or transforming an ordinary plastic water bottle into the greatest treasure on earth, Nitro knows how to make every day an adventure.
Nitro is also a smart young dog with an excellent foundation already in place. He:
Walks nicely on leash
Knows sit and down
Is house-trained
Is crate-trained
Is highly food-motivated and eager to learn
Does well at daycare
With his intelligence, work ethic, and love of rewards, Nitro is the perfect age to continue building skills and deepening the bond with his future family.
Nitro is expected to remain on the smaller side for a male Belgian Malinois, making him a wonderful choice for someone looking for all the incredible qualities of the breed in a slightly more compact package.
One story that perfectly captures Nitro's confidence and adventurous nature happened during his very first boat ride. While many dogs might hesitate in a brand-new environment, Nitro hopped aboard like he'd been doing it his entire life and loved every minute of the experience. His willingness to embrace new adventures suggests he'll be an enthusiastic partner wherever life takes you—whether that's hiking trails, training fields, road trips, or simply spending time together.
Nitro is currently located in Ohio and is searching for a family that appreciates the intelligence, athleticism, and loyalty that make Belgian Malinois such extraordinary dogs. And willing to put in the time and effort to channel that brilliance and drive towards good. He is a young dog with enormous potential, ready for someone willing to invest in his future and enjoy the incredible journey of watching him grow.
If you're looking for a devoted companion, a training partner, an adventure buddy, and a best friend all wrapped into one handsome package, don’t miss out on this opportunity to adopt Nitro.
Are you ready to add a little Nitro to your life?

24. Lucchese
Puppy (6 months) · Female · Belgian Shepherd Malinois / Mixed

We all know a good pair of boots is totally worth the time required to break them in because they will provide years of joy and reliability. The same is true for the
Boot Babies!
Meet Lucchese.
Luchhese (AKA Lu) is a sweet female
who has a fiery spirit and
loves to work and play!
She is as smart as a whip and wants you to know
her boots were made for walking
Read more about Lucchese
. And that’s just what she’ll do! Lucchese foster family is an active, sport home. With their support, she has learned sit (verbal), down and stand with a fading lure, spin in both directions, touch, come, and loose leash/attentive walking. Lu has shown great focus and engagement, the ability to use her nose, and loved her beginner swimming class! A future in dock diving, perhaps?
Lu would love a family or person who can continue developing these skills with weekly classes and possibly competition. When Foster Mama tipped back her cowboy hat, Lu whispered, “I’d love a home who can teach me how to navigate stranger danger appropriately and give me an endless supply of treats and toys!” Foster Mama wants to add to Lu’s wish list. A furry sibling would be an amazing gift for this girl!
Things that Lu should
not
be trusted around due to developing prey drive:
Small children
Cats and small dogs
Chickens
Apartment walls - she is a bit too vocal for attached neighbors!

Adopting a dog in Outagamie County
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
