1. Bandit
Young · Male · Carolina Dog / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Bandit!
Bandit is a 1 year old, neutered Carolina dog and Labrador mix who was saved from euthanasia in a high kill TX shelter. He has been fostered for 3 months in Lebanon, TN. We are looking to rehome him in the next two to three weeks because our resident dogs do not get along with him despite our best efforts.
Read more about Bandit
He is eager to please, intelligent, playful, medium energy, affectionate and curious! He is good with people of all ages, including children 5 and older, and gets along well with dogs when he is properly introduced. We think Bandit would do well in a home with other dogs that match his playful energy. He would also do well in a home as a solo dog.
We do not recommend him for a home with cats given his prey drive towards small animals.
Bandit is house/potty trained, crate trained and walks well on a leash. He currently knows "sit", "leave it" and “wait” and will patiently wait at doors and for his meals. He is very treat motivated and responds well to a clicker during his training. He has received some obedience training and continues to learn new skills each week.
Bandit loves to play fetch, loves squeaky and chew toys and playing chase with his foster siblings.
Bandit is 41 lbs, in perfect health, neutered, fully vetted, up to date on all vaccines and rabies, heartworm negative, microchipped and current on heartworm preventive.
Foster will provide Bandit’s food, all vet records and rabies certificate for his new adopter.
If Bandit sounds like the kind of companion you've been missing, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Be sure to include your city and state so we can learn a little about where this handsome fellow might be headed for his next chapter!

Meet our most handsome Remy! This Australian Shepherd mix is a loving, 2 year old, 62 lb, boy who is searching for a dog focused family that will spend lots of time with him. He delights in being with his favorite people and we are looking for a family or situation that will not leave him home alone a lot. A work from home family or stay at home mom with teens. He is crate trained, house trained, and has completed 2 weeks of basic obedience training. He learned heel, sit, down, stay, and come. He was a favorite of the staff! Remy has gotten along with the other dogs in his foster home who are about his same size, as well as a playmate at Doggie Daycare.
Read more about Remy
Remy would not be a good fit with cats as he wants to chase them. A large fenced yard would be best so he can safely run and play with plenty of room, but he also loves being indoors with his family. . A home with adults or teens would be best because of his size and playfulness. This is a boy that has started a wonderful road of polishing his manners and his behaviors and is going to good places for his future. Are you the family to take him the rest of the way home? 10. Brittany
Young · Female · Beagle (short coat)

This beautiful purebred Beagle girl called Brittany is our pride and joy to offer to a Beagle loving family. Her story is sad and one that will make you sad and mad all rolled in to one roller coaster of emotions. A young newly wed couple were driving from their home in Chattanooga, on their way to a honeymoon in Nashville, TN. Out of the corner of their eye while driving, they saw a truck pulled over and pushing this girl out onto the side of the road and then drive away. They owned two dogs of their own and it broke their heart to see such meanness. She was in a desperate situation. They pulled over and took her in to their car and then started making calls to shelters and rescues in the Nashville area where they were destined to arrive in a few hours.
Read more about Brittany
They got Critter Cavalry on the phone and we stepped up to take her in immediately and we would make sure she had a future family who would never do such a horrible thing as to abandon her. What we have found out with Brittany is that she is a happy and inviting girl who loves to play with other dogs and who loves to spoken to with kindness. She craves love which we are sure she got little of before. Her fav game is to chase a ball. She is young as in probably a year or 2 at the oldest and she weighs 26 pounds. She is being spayed 10/23 and has already started her shots and worming. She is picture perfect if you want a Beagle or small dog that is not tiny but resilient and fun and loving. We know she loves couches and dog company for playtime and hanging out. She’s housebroken and will definitely need a fenced yard to keep that Beagle nose safely within sight of your back door.

12. Professor Knox
Adult · Male · Doberman Pinscher (short coat)

Professor Knox.... my oh my what a beautiful soul this Doberman is!!! What you feel from Knox when you meet him is hope and an energy that he wants to learn and grow in to a phenomenal Doberman. Born on Christmas Day of 2025 this sweet puppy had all the hope in the world of a great life ahead. Somehow the stable future got sidetracked and he was not treated well in his first adoptive home. What happened next was a kind young couple heard of his plight and need for a new place and eagerly took him home without doing all the homework on the needs of a smart Doberman. They could not give him the big fenced yard and the time that a Doberman of his caliber needs. They have tried to be what he needs but they realize he needs so much more. With love they are asking Critter Cavalry Rescue to help them find his forever home soon but with much scrutiny. This 70 pound boy at just 10 months must not be placed in hands that are not capable and knowledgeable of the breed. Professor Knox is a sweet soul that has no aggression or fear. He is still so innocent in his time to learn and a sponge to be shaped and molded in to greatness. Professor Knox is a boy that needs more time out and about in the world so that he can be a great Ambassador for his breed. He loves cats and has his "own" cat in this second home that he is in now. He needs a dog to play with . The current dogs in his home are old and over the excitement of youth. Knox deserves a youthful playmate. He is housebroken, crate trained and knows how to manage a doggie door. Professor is a lover and not a fighter but if someone he does not know comes to the house and he greets them, he will stand between the visitor and his owner. Natural Doberman character. He is truly not leash savvy at all. He will need a new owner to train him on that and perhaps a harness will work best. He is not a chewer but he will gather things from around the house and put in his dog bed. This boy has the nature of a protector and a lover. A smart dog that is the best of his breed. He is still young and learning and we want a Doberman savvy family to adopt him and polish his nature talents to the fullest shine!!!!
Read more about Professor Knox
If you have a fenced yard, time, experience and love for the Doberman breed, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com Professor Knox is ready for the new forever chapter of his life to begin. It has been a journey in this first year while in the hands of a few families. His destination is now in our hands at Critter Cavalry and we will be very careful and caring to find the perfect landing for him.

Adult · Male · Australian Shepherd / Mixed (long coat)

Our handsome boy Reese is an Australian Aussie mix boy who is approximately a year and a half old, weighs 38 pounds, and is fully vetted—he is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and heartworm negative. Reese has a friendly, easygoing temperament and gets along wonderfully with everyone, including children of all ages, other dogs, and even the cats. He is definitely a rare Australian Shepherd who does not display the usual alpha temperament that most males of his breed do. He is a happy boy that delights in going for car rides and going for walks with his person. We do ask that his new forever home have a secured and fenced yard. It is best for his breed who loves to explore and be active. We think that he is ideal for a first time dog owner, families with children over 5 years of age and certainly singles who want an adventure buddy in life. He can fit right in to so many different family lifestyles.

16. Jack
Adult · Male · Poodle (Standard) (medium coat)

Jack is a handsome 5 year-old, 60 lbs black Standard Poodle who is finally getting the opportunity to discover what it means to be part of a family. Originally his life started off being purchased as a puppy for one purpose — to be a breeding dog. He was never given the chance to live inside, curl up beside his people, learn the routines of a household or simply be someone's companion. He spent his years outside in a small pen and requured to father many puppies. He never got to experience the life that a dog like Jack deserves. Now that chapter is behind him, and we are so excited about what comes next.
Read more about Jack
Jack is incredibly loving, affectionate and smart. He has a wonderful temperament and truly enjoys people. There is a sweetness to him that makes it easy to imagine just how much he is going to blossom once he realizes that being someone's dog means so much more than simply being cared for. Although Jack has never lived inside, he is already showing us some very promising signs. He has been doing remarkably well with keeping his kennel clean, giving us a wonderful foundation as he learns house manners. And with the intelligence Standard Poodles are known for, we expect Jack to be a very willing student once he understands what is being asked of him. There will be plenty of new things for Jack to discover — household sounds, doors, furniture, routines and all the little parts of family life he has never experienced. He may need patience and guidance along the way, but he has everything we could hope for in a dog beginning this journey: intelligence, affection, a gentle nature and an enormous capacity to love. We can't help but think that Jack is going to be absolutely amazed by his new life with a family. A warm bed, a family to follow from room to room and someone who wants him beside them simply because they love him. The freedom to finally be a companion instead of a breeding dog. Jack has spent five years waiting for the opportunity to be someone's beloved family member. Now it's finally his turn. And we have a feeling this incredibly sweet, intelligent boy is going to be amazing at it. If you are interested in being this sweet boy's rescue family, please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com

17. Puppy Winnie
Puppy · Female · Hound / Border Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

Some puppies are simply easy to picture in your life, and beautiful Winnie is one of those special girl puppies. Can you picture a happy little face following you into the backyard, chasing a ball, exploring every corner, and then coming back to you because being near her people is really the best part? That is Winnie. She is playful without being wild, curious without being reckless, and affectionate without needing to be glued to you every second. She is a puppy who wants to be involved in life with her family.Winnie was born July 11 as one of twelve puppies to a beautiful red, scruffy Border Terrier mix mama.
Read more about Puppy Winnie
She has been raised in a wonderful foster environment surrounded by children, other dogs, and adults who have handled, cuddled, and socialized her from the beginning. Those early experiences have helped Winnie become a confident, loving puppy who is ready to continue learning with her forever family. We think Winnie will be an especially wonderful fit for a family who enjoys being together and wants a dog who can grow up alongside them. She would love a fenced yard for those backyard adventures, a family willing to play fetch and teach her new things, and people who will appreciate her sweet, thoughtful nature. She is smart and eager to learn, so a family who enjoys training and watching a puppy discover her talents will have a lot of fun with her.Winnie is expected to grow into a beautiful 45–50 pound girl with a short coat. She is still very much a puppy, which means she is also in the “everything goes in my mouth” phase. Fingers are currently competing with chew toys for her attention, so we feel older children, 10+, would be the best fit. She will need patient adults who can give her consistent guidance and redirect that puppy enthusiasm toward appropriate toys. But underneath those puppy teeth is a girl with an enormous capacity to love. Winnie is thoughtful, affectionate, playful, and wonderfully curious. She is going to be the kind of dog who learns your routines, knows when it is time to play and when it is time to settle down, and eventually becomes the companion who seems to have always belonged there. If you are looking for a puppy who can be your backyard playmate, your adventure buddy, your student, your shadow, and eventually your best friend, Winnie may be exactly the girl you have been waiting for.Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com

She has the cutest goofy side, too. Ghost loves running around the yard, playing chase, getting the zoomies, and doing her little spins when she gets excited. She’s also VERY treat motivated and will happily work for snacks!
Ghost is house trained and crate trained and would absolutely love a home with a secure fenced yard.
Read more about Ghost Girl
She’s much more of a backyard-zoomies girl than a long-walk girl—the busy outside world can sometimes be a little overwhelming for her, and she’s happiest running and playing somewhere familiar and secure.
Ghost would love to be your one-and-only pet and soak up all the attention for herself. Other dogs can make her uncomfortable, so a home where she doesn’t have to share her space with other animals will allow her to relax and be her happiest self.
She has lived with a toddler and newborn and absolutely adores her little humans. She has been incredibly loving and gentle with them. When meeting children she doesn’t know, she appreciates a calmer introduction rather than lots of excitement all at once, so a quieter home or one with older children would be a great fit. She also would do best as the only dog in the family and not sharing any spotlight with others. More than anything, Ghost wants her person. Give her a safe yard to run in, plenty of treats, a comfy place to cuddle, and someone to follow around all day, and she’ll give you an incredible amount of love in return. ❤️
Ghost is looking for someone who wants a loyal little shadow, professional cuddle buddy, backyard zoomie champion, and best friend all rolled into one. Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.

19. Puppy Teddie
Puppy · Male · Hound / Mixed (short coat)

Teddie — A Little Explorer With a Big Heart Some puppies are perfectly content to sit back and watch the world go by. Teddie is not one of those puppies! Teddie came into this world as one of Biscuit’s very special 12 puppies. His momma was found as a stray living in the woods and trying to survive by eating from neighborhood garbage cans. Thankfully, a kind family took her in during the middle of May, only to discover that she was expecting a very big family of her own. On July 11th, Biscuit gave birth to 12 puppies, and foster mom Celeste took an entire month off from work to make sure their new little family had everything they needed.
Read more about Puppy Teddie
Now Teddie is ready to take his next adventure—finding his forever family. This boy is smart, curious and always ready to see what’s happening next. He loves to run, explore and investigate his surroundings, and you can almost see the wheels turning in his head as he discovers something new. He is the puppy who will happily follow you on an adventure and make sure he doesn’t miss a thing. But after all that exploring, Teddie has another favorite activity: being held like a baby. That’s when his softer side comes out. Once he has had enough running and playing, he is perfectly happy to curl up in your arms and soak up some love. There’s something pretty irresistible about a puppy who can go from little adventurer to cuddle bug in a matter of minutes. Teddie is expected to grow to around 45 pounds, making him a wonderful medium-sized companion when he is all grown up. He is already turning heads with his handsome black and tan tri-color coat—and those eyes! Just look at them. They have a way of making you feel like he is looking straight into your heart. Teddie has the intelligence to keep you entertained, the curiosity to keep life interesting and the affectionate nature to make you wonder how you ever lived without him. He is expected to do well with dogs, cats and children, making him the kind of puppy who could fit beautifully into many different types of families. His life began with a momma who was simply trying to survive. Now Teddie has the chance to grow up knowing something very different: what it feels like to be safe, cherished and completely loved. He’s ready for his forever adventure. Maybe it’s one that starts with you.

20. Ginny Lynn
Young · Female · Poodle (Standard) / Mixed (medium coat)

Meet Ginny Lynn — a sweet little girl who is still learning that being someone’s dog is a pretty wonderful thing. ❤️
Ginny Lynn is a 45 pound, one-year-old Poodle mix who, along with her 2 brothers, was abandoned when a tenant left them and her grey Poodle dad, behind at a cabin in the woods. They were actually all 4 left in crates and had to wait to be discovered and rescued many days later. They had known both indoor and outdoor life before that, but suddenly being left behind like that was a pretty confusing and scary experience for these pups.
Read more about Ginny Lynn
So, it’s no surprise that Ginny can be a little sensitive when everything around her is new. She may not be the one who marches through the door on day one like she owns the place. She’s more of a “let me look around, figure this out and make sure everything is okay” kind of girl.
And honestly, once she decides everything really is okay, she is pretty amazing and sweet.
She has been living in a house now and is doing well. She is discovering the joys of being comfortable, having a soft place to curl up and getting to spend his days around people. She’s learning that a house isn’t something to be unsure of—it’s where the good stuff happens.
Ginny Lynn is smart, loving and eager to learn. She just needs someone who understands that confidence doesn't always happen overnight. Give her a little patience, a predictable routine and some kindness, and you’ll get to watch this sweet girl come out of her shell.
Once she settles in, expect a happy little companion who wants to be part of things. She has a gentle nature and a sweetness about her that makes you want to reassure her that she has finally landed somewhere good.
And maybe that's what Ginny needs most—not anything fancy, not a perfect home, just a person who will let her take a breath, get comfortable and realize that this time, she's not being left behind.
This girl deserves to know what it feels like to be somebody's dog. To have a favorite bed. A favorite person. A routine. A home. And most importantly, to know that when her person walks out the door, they're coming back.
We think Ginny is going to be awfully easy to love. ❤️. If you are interested in giving this girl The Good Life.... Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at CCRTennessee@gmail.com asap. Tell us what city and state you live in when you are inquiring about her.

21. Ruger
Young · Male · Poodle (Standard) / Mixed (medium coat)

Ruger — A Sweet Boy Discovering How Wonderful Home Can Be
Ruger is a 40 pound, one-year-old Poodle mix whose life didn’t get the easiest start. He was abandoned along with his brothers and their dad when a tenant left them behind at a cabin in the woods. Like his brothers, Ruger spent his early life outside with very little experience of the world beyond what he knew.
Read more about Ruger
Because of that, adopters should expect Ruger to be a little shy and sensitive at first. Moving into a new home, meeting new people and learning a whole new routine is a big change for a boy who hasn’t always had the chance to experience the world in a safe and secure way. He may need a little time to settle in and figure out that this new life really is his.
But once Ruger gets comfortable, you get to see what a truly sweet boy he is. ❤️ He has been living in a house now and is doing wonderfully. He has discovered some of the very best things about being an indoor dog—especially finding a soft place to curl up and getting comfy on the bed!
Ruger is a loving, happy and smart little guy who is eager to learn and be part of his family. He may be sensitive, but underneath that initial shyness is a sweet boy who wants to trust, wants to please and wants to be loved.
He doesn't need someone to expect him to walk into a new home and immediately act like he has lived there forever. He just needs someone who will give him a little patience while he adjusts, reassure him that he is safe, and let his personality come out at his own pace.
Once Ruger settles in, expect a happy, affectionate, smart little companion who is ready to enjoy all the things he should have had from the beginning—soft beds, loving people, a safe home and a family of his own.
Ruger has already come so far. Now he just needs someone willing to give him the time and love to take that final step into his forever home. ❤️

At 8 years old and 16 pounds, this sweet Terrier mix has the most loving heart and an easygoing, happy personality that makes her an absolute joy to be around. Read more about Maple-Petite 16 Lbs.
She does pull a little on the leash because she gets excited about all the wonderful things there are to see and smell, but she loves going for walks and is eager to explore. With some consistent training and a confident handler, we think she will learn those leash manners in no time. And Maple is definitely not looking for a life spent sitting on the couch all day! This girl has energy and she wants to use it. She loves hiking, running with her person, going for long walks, and simply being outside enjoying the world. A securely fenced yard is required because she loves having the freedom to safely run and explore off leash. Her recall still needs some work, so her future family will need to continue working with her on that. The perfect family for Maple would be active people who enjoy getting outside and want a four-legged adventure buddy. She would be wonderful for someone who hikes, runs, walks regularly, or simply wants a dog who is excited to join them in an active lifestyle. She could thrive with a single person, a couple, or a family with older children. But here’s the best part about Maple: once she has had her exercise, explored the world, and spent time with her people, she is perfectly happy to settle down and cuddle. She has that wonderful Terrier spirit during the day and turns into the sweetest snuggle buddy when it’s time to relax. ❤️Maple is ready for someone who will give her the active, happy life she deserves—and in return, she will give you companionship, laughter, loyalty, and plenty of love.If Maple sounds like your kind of girl, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.

24. Bailey Girl
Adult · Female · Australian Shepherd / Mixed

Meet Bailey Girl— All She Needs Is a Chance ❤️ Bailey Girl is a beautiful 27-pound female 18 month old Mini Aussie mix with a story that will break your heart—but the little dog she is becoming will put it right back together.
Read more about Bailey Girl
Bailey Girl was abandoned during extremely hot weather when someone placed her inside a school playground with no way to get out. Tragically, she wasn’t discovered until the following Monday when the school reopened. Someone had reportedly witnessed her being left there but did not notify anyone. We may never understand why she was abandoned that way, but we do know one thing: her story does not have to end where it began.
Today, Bailey Girl is safe in a loving foster home, and she is doing beautifully. ❤️ It took her only a couple of days to begin trusting her foster, and now she has become her little shadow. She does well with other dogs and cats, walks on a leash, and can even be left loose in the home with the other dogs while her foster is at work.
Bailey Girl is still working on becoming completely house trained, but she is extremely intelligent and continues to learn. She enjoys having a yard where she can run and as her confidence and trust have grown, she happily comes back to her foster when called.
Because Bailey Girl can be somewhat fearful of children, we believe she would be happiest in a home without children, where she can feel secure and develop a strong bond with her person or family.
Bailey may need a little more patience in the beginning than some dogs. You have to earn her trust—but once you do, something very special happens. She begins to understand that she is safe. She follows you. She looks to you for reassurance. And before long, you realize you haven’t just gained a dog—you’ve gained a devoted little sidekick.
A word of advice please. Bailey Girl needs someone who won’t expect everything from her on the first day. She needs love, patience, kindness, and time. Give her the opportunity to understand that you aren’t going anywhere, and she will give that love and devotion right back to you. ❤️ Bailey may very well become the dog you talk about for the rest of your life. Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you would like to make her a part of your world and life.
She has already experienced what it feels like to be left behind.
Now it’s time for this beauty to discover what it feels like to be chosen—and never abandoned again. ❤️

25. Puppy Jay Jay
Puppy · Male · Black Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat)

It was a hot Sunday afternoon, late in the day and a pick up truck approached the bridge going over the small river tributary. Some black dots were scurrying around like little squirrels that were not sure that direction to go. Soon it would be dark and the group would be in even greater danger. They were black Lab mix puppies. All around 15 pounds and all were covered in fleas and of course dirt from never having had a bath in their life. There were 7 and Jay Jay was one of those abandoned 7 pups. The man wasn't going to take them home. He wanted no part of them nor to be stuck with them at his place. A kind woman stepped forward and soon the news trickled down to Critter Cavalry's exceptional foster mom who took two of them in.
Jay Jay is learning what air conditioning is like and what a good bath scrub down feels like as the warm water pours over his body washing away his past. He is a lucky pup and receiving love and good food and some normalcy that we are sure he never had before. He is good with other dogs and still hesitant to just go running up quickly to a new stranger. He wants to but he just cannot trust to do that yet. He will come to those that he knows. Two weeks is not enough time to reprogram a young soul that has never been a part of a family. But since he is young he will become new in all the ways of learning trust. He knows about pee pads and would love a fenced yard to run with true fun and free abandon any time his human can let him outside. This boy will be a 75 pound Lab when fully grown. We think he might have a touch of hound in him.... no Pitbull that we can see at all. We know nothing of his parents, just that someone carelessly threw his litter out of a car or truck on that bridge and sped off and never looked back. Jay Jay is looking forward and we are encouraging him every day to learn a leash and harness can be his doorway to experiencing exciting new places and good fun walks. If you are interested in this handsome boy who is ALL BOY DOG, then write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com He is ready for a new home and neutered with all shots and microchip and dewormings done. Healthy, sweet and on his way to finding all the happiness that a new family is willing to give

26. Puppy Poppy
Young · Female · German Shepherd Dog / Mixed

Meet your new adventure girl and professional couch cuddler!
Read more about Puppy Poppy
This beautiful black German Shepherd mix girl is a young 8 month old pup who is 43 pounds now with a destiny of about 55 pounds when a fully developed adult beauty. She is a happy, playful, energetic, affectionate, and full of personality Shepherd girl who absolutely LOVES playing fetch and would happily keep the game going as long as you’re willing to throw the ball. She’s an active girl who would thrive with someone who enjoys walks, adventures, playtime, and keeping her both physically and mentally busy.
She has been working with a professional dog trainer for approximately 4–5 months and has made great progress with consistent training and structure. She’ll do best with an owner who is willing to continue that consistency, give her plenty of exercise, and keep reinforcing everything she’s learned. You must be dedicated to keep up this good work and structure for such an intelligent young girl.
She also loves cats — possibly a little too much! She’s very interested in her feline friends and loves trying to play with them, so any cats in her future home should be comfortable and confident around an enthusiastic canine roommate.
Once she’s gotten all that energy out, though, she’s more than happy to switch gears. She LOVES climbing onto the couch for cuddles and settling in for a long nap with her person.
She’s looking for an active, committed home that will give her the exercise, consistency, playtime, and affection she thrives on. In return, you’ll get an enthusiastic fetch partner, adventure buddy, and one seriously dedicated couch-snuggler. ❤️ Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in making this girl a part of your future dog fun and perhaps a running partner. 28. Puppy Richie
Young · Male · Border Collie / Mixed

Richie " Sambora " is what this Border Collie mix puppy should be called because he is so handsome and extra charming. Born around April 1st, 5 months ago from 9/1, his mom was a 40 pound girl with 4 puppies who were all left outside in the harsh heat while their owner went on vacation. No food, no water was left behind. Soon Animal Control was there to take the sweet dogs in to the shelter for relief and care. Richie is 25 pounds and a very special boy. He has very special eye coloring that gives him two different colored eyes that make him absolutely unforgettable. This boy Richie has already figured out that those beautiful eyes have a way of melting hearts. Look out ladies, this handsome boy knows exactly how to turn on the charm and if he played guitar like Sambora does with Bon Jovi, he would be dangerous. But underneath those gorgeous eyes is a sweet puppy who is learning that humans can be trusted and that life can be pretty wonderful. He is almost housebroken, crate training is successful and he is good with all other dogs and cats as well. We expect him to the same weight range as his momma, 40 pounds. He is happy and curious and playful. Working on his leash skills and he has had a great deal of guidance from his foster persons that have helped him the past few weeks. If you would like to adopt this happy young pup please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com Mention where you live. 29. Chiffon
Young · Female · Norwegian Elkhound / Anatolian Shepherd / Mixed

Chiffon is incredibly loving and remarkably smart. She has so much potential just waiting to be discovered. At almost one year old, she is at such a wonderful point in her life: young enough to learn, adapt, and grow, but old enough that her personality is beginning to shine through. She is just about finished growing and is on the larger side of medium.
The right family could really help Chiffon blossom. She doesn't need someone looking for a perfectly finished dog. She needs someone who will see what she can become and enjoy being part of that journey. With consistency, guidance, patience, and love, there is so much you could teach this girl—and so much she could give back.
We can picture Chiffon learning the rhythm of family life, going for walks with her people, discovering new places, soaking up attention, and eventually wondering how she ever lived without a family of her own. Her intelligence and genetics give her an incredible foundation, but the love and guidance of the right person could help turn that potential into something truly wonderful.
Chiffon has already been given a good start. Now she needs someone willing to take the next step with her.
Someone who will invest in her. Someone who will give her that one-on-one connection she hasn't yet experienced. Someone who will enjoy watching her learn, grow, and become the amazing companion we believe she is meant to be.
And in return, you may get something pretty extraordinary—a smart, loving, loyal dog who has all the makings of an incredible family member.

30. Artsy Marcy
Adult · Female · Border Collie / Mixed

Meet Artsy Marcy – A Survivor with a Brilliant Mind and an Even Bigger Heart
Read more about Artsy Marcy
Artsy Marcy is a beautiful Border Collie mix, around 2 years old and weighing 55–60 pounds. Her life began with unimaginable hardship, yet she has never let her past define her. It is believed that Marcy and her siblings were abandoned in a remote rural area of Tennessee. While trying to survive on their own, tragedy struck when they were hit by a train. Her sister did not survive, and Marcy was left with a severely dislocated hip. Thanks to a compassionate foster who refused to give up on her, Marcy received the surgery and care she desperately needed. Today she has only a slight limp—a small reminder of just how far she has come.
Marcy is everything you would expect from a Border Collie mix: incredibly intelligent, observant, athletic, and eager to be part of whatever her people are doing. She loves hiking, exploring, and would thrive in an active home where she can exercise both her body and her mind. She has a natural herding instinct and enjoys having a job or purpose.
She is wonderful with people and genuinely enjoys human companionship. While she may be a little shy during first introductions, she warms up quickly and forms strong, loyal bonds. Once she trusts you, she is affectionate, devoted, and eager to please.
Marcy has lived around cats, but she does have a prey drive, so any home with cats should be experienced and committed to proper introductions and management. She also does well with some dogs but can be selective about her canine companions. Like many intelligent, confident working breeds, she appreciates respectful introductions and clear leadership. She would do best with an adopter who understands Border Collie personalities and will provide consistent structure, training, and outlets for her energy.
Marcy isn't looking to be just another dog lying quietly in the corner. She is looking for someone who will appreciate her intelligence, celebrate her spirit, and give her the freedom to be the amazing Border Collie mix she was born to be.
Against all odds, this remarkable girl survived when she easily could have been another forgotten statistic. Now she deserves the happy ending she has fought so hard for.
If you'd like to learn more about Artsy Marcy or speak with the foster mom who saved her life, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.

32. Puppy Susye
Puppy · Female · Cattle Dog / Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Susye — A Young Girl Ready for a Home of Her Own
Read more about Puppy Susye
Sometimes the best dogs have the hardest beginnings.
Susye’s second chance began when a Nashville Fire Department EMT realized that the homeless woman caring for her would not be leaving the hospital. He could not bear the thought of this young dog being left with nowhere to go, so he brought Susye home and made sure she was safe.
For the past months
Susye has been living with her firefighter foster dad and his four dogs. She has been a happy, peaceful addition to the family and has settled into home life beautifully. She is crate trained when needed, loves using the dog door, and enjoys spending time in the fenced backyard.
Now fully vetted and spayed, Susye is was born approximately the first of January 2026 and is ready for a forever home with the stability she deserves. She weighs 43 pounds.
We believe Susye may be a
Terrier and Heeler mix
. She is bright, active, affectionate, and eager to be part of whatever is happening. Like many young herding and fast as the wind. She will do best with regular exercise, engagement, and continued training.
Although Susye adores her foster dog siblings, they are all older. Her foster dad cannot help but think she would especially love a home with a
younger, playful dog companion
who can match her energy and enjoy growing up alongside her.
Her firefighter foster dad also works 12-hour shifts, and caring for five dogs has become more than he can reasonably maintain long-term. Susye is loved and safe, but this was always meant to be her stepping stone—not her final destination.
She would thrive with a family that can give her companionship, consistency, playtime, and plenty of opportunities to use her smart young mind. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful, and another playful dog would be a big bonus.
Susye has already experienced more uncertainty than any puppy should. Now she is ready for the part of her story where she belongs somewhere for good. If you are interested please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at
ccrtennessee@gmail.com

33. Knox
Adult · Male · Australian Shepherd / Poodle (Standard) / Mixed (medium coat)

Meet Knox! If you've ever wished for a dog who thinks you're the greatest person in the world, Knox has been practicing for this role his entire life. This handsome 3-year-old Aussiedoodle weighs about 80 pounds at the moment, but don't let the extra fluff fool you—he's already working on a healthier lifestyle after spending his early years enjoying a little too much people food. His former owner adored him and spoiled him with table scraps, so now Knox is discovering that dog food, daily walks, and playtime are the recipe for feeling his best. Knox's world changed forever when his beloved mom unexpectedly passed away this spring.
Read more about Knox
Since then, he's been missing what he treasures most: having someone to love. If you're looking for a loyal sidekick, Knox checks all the boxes. He's house-trained, walks nicely on a leash, loves children, and has a gentle, affectionate personality that makes everyone feel like they're his favorite person. Whether you're heading out for a walk, spending time in the backyard, or loading up the car for a weekend adventure, Knox will happily be right by your side. He's looking for a family that enjoys being active and will help him continue his fitness journey. A fenced yard for games of fetch, daily walks, and plenty of quality time together would be his dream come true. While Knox hasn't officially met cats, he politely ignores the neighborhood cats he sees during walks, so we think he has the makings of a respectful housemate with proper introductions. Neutered, heartworm negative, and ready to begin again, Knox isn't just looking for another home—he's looking for his next best friend. Maybe that's you. Tubbs and his brother were found abandoned on the side of the road and quickly won the hearts of his foster family. Now Tubbs is ready to find the forever home he's been waiting for. This handsome puppy is all about enjoying life. He loves toys, zooming around the yard, wrestling with his brother, exploring new places, and handing out endless puppy kisses (complete with that famous puppy breath!). He's great in the car, enjoys meeting new people, and is always happy to be included in whatever is going on.If your home has kids, Tubbs will probably think he hit the jackpot. He absolutely loves following his foster's 4-year-old daughter around and happily joins in whenever the neighborhood kids stop by to play. He's also doing well with his foster family's dogs. Bigger dogs can make him a little unsure at first, but with a little time, his confidence shines through. He hasn't met any cats yet, but his friendly, easygoing nature suggests he could do well with a slow introduction.Tubbs is already showing what a smart little guy he is. He sleeps quietly in his playpen, settles down nicely for naps, is learning to walk on a leash, and has already started working on commands like sit, down, stay, and come. Like any young puppy, he'll continue to blossom with consistency, patience, and lots of positive reinforcement. His perfect family is one that will include him in everyday life—morning walks, weekend adventures, backyard play sessions, and evenings curled up together after a day of fun. He's looking for a family that will help him grow into the amazing dog he's already showing he can be.Tubbs has every reason not to trust the world, but instead, he greets it with curiosity, joy, and a wagging tail. Now all he needs is someone to give him the happy ending he deserves.

36. Lady Anne
Adult · Female · Great Pyrenees

Meet Lady Anne, a stunning 4-year-old Great Pyrenees whose story is one of resilience, devotion, and unconditional love.
When it came time to give birth, Lady Anne did what any devoted mother would do—she searched for a place she believed would keep her babies safe. She chose a quiet spot beneath a shed, only for that refuge to become anything but safe. Thankfully, a compassionate neighbor recognized the danger and reached out for help. Critter Cavalry stepped in just in time, giving Lady Anne and her nine newborn puppies the second chance they so desperately needed.
Read more about Lady Anne
Placed with an experienced foster family, Lady Anne slowly learned that she and her puppies were finally safe. At first, she was understandably protective, but with patience and kindness she allowed her foster family to help her. Beneath her thick coat were painful mats, ticks, and fleas, and she needed a gentle grooming and a trimmed belly so her puppies could nurse comfortably. Through it all, her only concern was her babies.
For seven weeks, Lady Anne rarely left their side. As the puppies grew, she would ask to step out of their pen, only to lie beside the fence, faithfully watching over them. Day and night, she stood guard, making sure every puppy was safe. Even after they were weaned, she continued her watch. It wasn't until each puppy had gone to a loving home and the pen stood empty that Lady Anne finally walked into the air-conditioned house, curled up, and truly rested.
Her watch was finally over.
But Great Pyrenees are born with a purpose, and Lady Anne simply found a new one. She now happily patrols the fence lines, checking on the livestock with quiet confidence before making her rounds to visit the very dogs she once chased away from her puppies. Today, they're all friends.
Lady Anne can be a little reserved when meeting new people, taking her time to decide who she can trust. Once she knows your intentions are kind, however, she gives you her whole heart. She'll greet you with joyful full-body wiggles, lean into your affection, and "talk" to you in her soft, gentle Pyrenees whines that seem to say just how happy she is to be by your side. She is cat-friendly, easygoing, gentle, and deeply loyal—the kind of dog who doesn't just become a pet but a steadfast companion. Lady Anne has already proven what an incredible guardian she is. Now she's looking for a family of her own to love and protect.
If you give this remarkable girl a chance, she'll spend the rest of her life reminding you that some of the greatest hearts belong to those who have overcome the hardest beginnings.

37. Puppy Ollie
Puppy · Male · Australian Shepherd / Mixed

Ollie by Golly is the kind of puppy who makes people smile the moment they meet him.
This handsome mostly Australian Shepherd boy has a soft semi-long coat, beautiful eyes, and a gentle personality that is hard to find. Ollie does have limited vision on his left side because his left eye is genetically smaller than his right, but it does not slow him down one bit. His veterinarian says he is comfortable, doing great, and does not need any surgery. Ollie has learned to navigate the world just fine and is full of confidence, curiosity, and puppy joy.

He is a sweet, easygoing little guy who is incredibly gentle with a 3-year-old toddler in his foster home. He also does wonderfully with older children, adults, and people he meets. Ollie has no fearfulness and no rough edges to his personality—just a soft heart and a happy spirit.
When he is not cuddling near his people, Ollie is busy doing important puppy things: chasing bubbles, watching butterflies, sniffing every inch of the yard, playing fetch, wrestling gently with his dog friends, and joining in on the morning zoomies. He may even decide a bullfrog is worth investigating if one happens to cross his path.
Ollie has been in foster care for three weeks and has already blossomed into such a happy, loving boy. His foster mom has been delighted to watch his personality shine brighter every day. He would love a home with children, another playful dog, or simply people who want a loyal little companion close by.

39. Lil Bit
Adult · Female · Husky / Mixed

Meet Lil Bit!! What we see is that Little Bit is an easy going girl that has melted right in to the background of the homelife of women who work from home and have 2 small dogs of their own. She is respectful of them and is enjoying laying outside and enjoying the beautiful weather and the soft dog bed that has been offered to her. She is crate trained and just fine. She would love to play with the small dogs but they have refused her playful offerings. As cute as she is, they are not interested. The family we would love to adopt Little Bit is one that has a fenced yard and someone not gone 9 hours a day. Shorter time gone is fine or even a work from home situation would be perfection. She is housebroken apparently and she know how to cross her legs like a Southern Lady! Some added weight might be good for this girl and a 55 pound healthy weight would be ideal for her. She is a beauty. A Husky/Shepherd mix is definitely the consensus of her breed. She is currently 48 pounds and stunning in every way. Please consider making this girl's Cinderella Story come true NOW!!!
