1. Cosmo
Puppy (3 months 14 days) · Female · Caucasian Sheepdog (Caucasian Ovtcharka) (long coat)

Please take the time to research the breed before considering fostering/adoption. Because of their immense size, strength, and strong guardian instincts, they are generally not recommended for first-time or novice owners. They require experienced handling, early socialization, and ongoing training throughout their lives.
Meet Cosmo...an Independent Spirit, Born Guardian
Read more about Cosmo
Personality: Cosmo is a spirited, adventurous, intelligent Caucasian Shepherd puppy with a big personality and natural guardian instincts. She absolutely loves having an older sister and brother! She has already learned so much from watching them, including manners and how to look after and protect the herd. She is observant, confident, curious, and always ready for her next adventure. This is a working guardian breed, and her protective instincts are already beginning to develop. She needs a family who understands that these traits are part of who she is and is prepared to guide them through consistent training, structure, and responsible socialization.
Cosmo is also very independent and already shows the self-assured nature of her breed. She likes to explore, observe, and figure things out for herself. She isn't just looking for someone to entertain her—she has a mind of her own and natural instincts that will need to be guided by someone who understands guardian breeds. Her independence is part of what makes her special, but it also means she'll need a patient, confident owner who can provide consistent boundaries without expecting a people-pleasing dog.
Favorite Activities: Running, exploring, playing, and going on wild adventures ALL DAY LONG! Cosmo loves having room to roam, following the animals, observing her surroundings, and learning from the older dogs. She enjoys being involved in everything happening around the homestead and is happiest when she has space to explore and a job to do. She is an energetic puppy who needs plenty of room, stimulation, and appropriate outlets for her natural instincts. A small yard or city lifestyle would not be a good fit for her.
Medical Issues: No known medical issues reported at this time.
What would be the best kind of home: Cosmo needs an experienced, committed home that understands and respects the Caucasian Shepherd breed. A rural property, farm, or homestead with substantial, secure fencing and plenty of room to roam would be ideal. She is accustomed to being around animals and developing her natural livestock guardian instincts, so a home that understands working guardian dogs would be best.
She would benefit from having confident, well-mannered canine companions who can help show her the ropes, although any resident dogs must be a good match for her as she matures. Her new family must be prepared to provide consistent boundaries, structured training, early and ongoing socialization, and responsible management of her developing protective instincts.
Food is a serious business for Cosmo! She has already shown resource-guarding tendencies, so her adopters must understand resource guarding and be willing to manage it safely and work on it through appropriate, positive training. She needs careful management around food and other valuable resources, not punishment or confrontational attempts to take things away.
Cosmo is adorable, playful, and full of adventure, but she is also growing into a powerful guardian breed with strong instincts. She is not a fit for an apartment, a small city yard, or a home unfamiliar with large livestock guardian breeds. She needs space, knowledgeable handling, and a family willing to help her grow into a confident, stable, well-managed adult dog.

2. Gamora
Puppy (3 months 29 days) · Female · Caucasian Sheepdog (Caucasian Ovtcharka) (long coat)

Please take the time to research the breed before considering fostering/adoption. GAMORA HAS ENTERED THE CHAT… AND SHE’S HERE TO GUARD THE GALAXY!
Meet Gamora, the fluffy little force of nature who takes her name VERY seriously. She may look like an adorable teddy bear right now, but don't let those puppy eyes fool you… this girl is training for a lifetime position as Guardian of the Galaxy!
Read more about Gamora
Gamora is a Caucasian Shepherd puppy available for adoption through Mastiffs to Mutts, and she's looking for a special family ready to help her grow into the magnificent guardian she's meant to be.
Fair warning: That cute, fluffy puppy is going to grow into a VERY LARGE, VERY STRONG, VERY CONFIDENT, and VERY OPINIONATED dog. Think security system with fur, a big personality, a mouth full of teeth and absolutely no concept of personal space.
PERSONALITY: SMALL PUPPY, BIG GUARDIAN ENERGY
Gamora is adventurous, intelligent, confident, and already showing off those natural guardian instincts! She's the little sister who knows exactly which buttons to push on her big brothers… and pushes EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.
She keeps her older brothers on their toes, loves a good wrestling session, and believes the universe revolves around her next adventure.
She's also a smart cookie! Gamora already knows:
Sit
Down
“Me”
Wait patiently for her food
Wait before exiting the house
Walks nicely on a leash
Who says a galaxy guardian can't have manners?!
FAVORITE ACTIVITIES:
Exploring the galaxy… or at least the campground!
Camping trips and outdoor adventures
Attending community events and checking out the world
Playing with her big brothers and keeping them humble
Learning new things and showing off those brains
Practicing her future job of keeping an eye on her surroundings
Gamora has already experienced camping trips and several community events, giving her valuable opportunities to experience new people, places, and situations. She's a curious girl with a whole world to discover!
HER FOREVER HOME: NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!
Here's where we get serious, Guardians.
The Caucasian Shepherd is a powerful livestock guardian breed developed to protect and watch over its territory. These dogs are often naturally protective, independent, strong-willed, and suspicious of unfamiliar people or animals. Those traits aren't flaws to train away — they're part of the breed.
Gamora needs a family who understands that the adorable puppy stage is temporary, but the guardian instincts are here to stay.
Her ideal forever home will include:
ROOM TO ROAM: A home with plenty of appropriate space and secure fencing to safely accommodate a giant guardian breed.
A COMMITMENT TO TRAINING: Gamora is already learning, and her education must continue with consistency, structure, clear boundaries, and positive, appropriate guidance.
EARLY & LIFELONG SOCIALIZATION: She needs continued, thoughtful exposure to different people, environments, sounds, and experiences. Socialization means helping her feel comfortable and behave appropriately around the world — not expecting her to love every stranger or every dog.
RESPECT FOR HER FUTURE SIZE & STRENGTH: This girl will grow into a powerful dog capable of easily overwhelming an inexperienced handler. Her family must be prepared to manage her strength responsibly and maintain safe, controlled interactions throughout her life.
BREED KNOWLEDGE & REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS: Gamora needs someone who appreciates a working guardian breed and understands that independence, territorial behavior, and protective instincts require responsible management — not wishful thinking.
A LIFETIME PROMISE: She needs a family who will guide her, advocate for her, and love her through puppy shenanigans, teen

5. Slim Jim
Adult (4 years 9 months) · Male · Great Dane / Cane Corso Mastiff / Mixed (short coat)

Headline: Meet Slim Jim — Your Goofy, People‑Loving Velcro Sidekick!
Personality: Slim Jim is a goofy, people‑loving velcro dog who wants nothing more than to be close to his person. He follows you everywhere, curls himself into the tiniest ball imaginable, and can twist into hilarious pretzel‑like positions that keep you laughing daily. He’s full of affection, full of personality, and full of love.
He’s an energetic walker who can easily do five miles and still have a round of zoomies left in him, but once he’s had his fun, he becomes a true nap king — happiest snuggled up beside you or tucked into one of his signature curled‑up poses.
Read more about Slim Jim
Slim Jim does have separation anxiety and, at this stage, cannot be left alone. He thrives with someone who is home often and can give him the reassurance and structure he needs. He’s not able to tolerate a crate when left alone, but with patience and consistency, he has great potential to improve. For now, he needs a home where he won’t be left solo and can enjoy the comfort of being near his person.
Slim Jim is a loyal shadow, a silly companion, and a deeply affectionate dog who brings warmth, laughter, and devotion to every day. He’s looking for someone who wants a true sidekick — a dog who will adore them endlessly.
Favorite Activities: Slim Jim’s favorite things in life are wonderfully simple: long walks, cozy naps, and chewing on a good bone. He loves getting out for his daily strolls and can happily go for miles, taking in all the sights and smells. Once he’s had his exercise (and a round of zoomies), he’s all about settling in for a nap — preferably curled up in one of his signature tiny‑ball positions. When he’s awake and relaxing, a sturdy chew bone is his go‑to pastime. As long as he’s close to his person, Slim Jim is content, happy, and fully in his element.
Medical Issues: Slim Jim arrived in rescue extremely underweight, but with proper care and nutrition he has made a strong recovery. He is healthy, gaining steadily, and just needs to continue putting on a bit more weight. He has no ongoing medical issues and is thriving in foster care.
What would be the best kind of home: Slim Jim is looking for a patient, adult home that can offer structure, consistency, and plenty of companionship. Because he is a big, enthusiastic 75‑lb lap‑dog who still jumps when excited, he would do best in a home without young children; respectful kids 12+ may be appropriate. He is dog‑reactive and prefers to have his person all to himself, so he is best as an only dog, though a calm, respectful dog may be possible with careful introductions. Cats are unknown.
Slim Jim cannot be left alone at this time and needs someone who is home consistently. A two‑adult household would be ideal so he can share his affection and not become overly dependent on just one person. He loves all people and bonds quickly.
Before rescue, Slim Jim lived on the streets and had to survive on his own. In the last few months, he has been learning how to be a household dog — and despite his tough past, he shows no ill will toward humans. He is still worried that his next meal may not be guaranteed, so structure, predictable routines, and trust‑building are key to helping him feel secure.
He enjoys long walks and currently gets all his exercise on leash, but he would love a fenced yard to explore. A secure 6' fence is recommended, as he is agile and athletic. Although estimated to be around four years old, Slim Jim still has some puppy energy and enthusiasm. He is food‑motivated, eager to please, and will thrive with continued basic training to help him improve his manners (jumping, counter surfing, and leash reactivity).
Additional Comments: Slim Jim’s life has changed completely in just three months. After surviving on the streets and having to fend for himself, he is now learning how to be a loved, indoor family dog — and he is blossoming. Despite his tough past, he shows no ill will toward people and greets everyone wit

Medically? Gelo is all good. He just finished his antibiotics, so he's fresh, healthy, and ready to roll.
Above all, this dude is a total love bug. Pets, scratches, attention -- Gelo's here for all of it.
Gelo is new, so we're still. unlocking new levels of his personality, but early reviews say: 5 stars, would snuggle again.

7. Melvin
Young (1 year 3 months) · Male · Boerboel Mastiff (short coat)

Melvin is a young Boerboel mix, estimated to be about 1 year old, who came to us as a stray. We don't know much about his past, but we are excited to help him findthe bright future he deserves.
Read more about Melvin
Melvin is a big, goofy boy with an even bigger heart. He absolutely loves other dogs, especially dogs his own size, and nothing makes him happier than a good game of chase or some rough-and-tumble wrestling with a canine friend. Because he's still young, he's full of energy and doesn't always realize just how big he is. One of Melvin's sweetest qualities is how quickly he bonds with his people. He's a true shadow dog who wants to be wherever you are. Whether you're making dinner, watching TV, or working around the house, you will find a big slobbery face following right behind you. He loves being part of the family and is happiest when he's included.
Melvin already has a great foundation for his new family. He's house-trained, crate-trained, and walks nicely on a leash, making the transition into his forever home that much easier. He still has plenty to learn, and needs someone who will teach him. He's been around children and has done well, though his size and enthusiastic play style mean he'll do best with a family that can help him continue learning good manners. Melvin is eager to please and will thrive with patient guidance, regular exercise, and lots of opportunities to play. Melvin should not be placed in a home with cats. He simply wants to play with them the same way he plays with big dogs, and because of his size and rough play style, it's just not safe for feline friends.
If you're looking for a loyal companion who will stick by your side, make you laugh with his oversized puppy antics, and happily cover you in a little slobber along the way, Melvin may be the perfect fit. He didn't get to choose how his story started, but he's more than ready for a family to help write the rest of it.
