Meet Hennepin – A Fluffy Little Bundle of Love Looking for His Forever Home! ❤️

If you’re looking for a tiny best friend with a big personality, a playful spirit, and a heart full of love, let us introduce you to Hennepin! This adorable Maltese puppy is the cutest little fluffy-headed guy you ever did see, and he’s ready to find a forever family to call his own. Hennepin has been blossoming in his foster home, coming out of his nervous shell and discovering just how wonderful the world can be. He’s learning that people are friends, the outdoors is full of exciting adventures, and there is so much fun to be had when you have a loving home and furry friends by your side!

Hennepin is a happy, playful, affectionate little puppy who loves being around his people. When you walk into a room, get ready for a joyful greeting! He gets so excited to see you that he may jump up, spin around, and occasionally bark to remind you that you simply cannot walk by without saying hello. After all, you are his favorite people, and he has important business to attend to, including playing, snuggling, and handing out kisses! He may be a little shy for a moment when meeting someone new, but it doesn’t take long for his friendly personality to shine through. He seems to love everyone he meets and is always happy to make another friend.

This little guy has a playful side that will keep you smiling. He loves running through the house, playing with toys, chewing on bones, and romping around with the other dogs in his foster home. Watching him zoom through the house and dash out onto the enclosed deck is pure entertainment! He has so much puppy energy and curiosity, and it’s been wonderful watching him gain confidence and discover his favorite things. He especially loves spending time outside, where every smell, blowing leaf, and little corner of the yard is an exciting new adventure. The outdoors was unfamiliar to him at first, but he has really learned to love exploring the yard and enjoying his time outside.

Hennepin has also been doing well on a leash! So far, his walks have been little adventures along the sidewalk, and he follows right along with his people. Like many young puppies, he occasionally gets underfoot because he wants to be close to you and see everything happening around him. He’s still learning about the big, wonderful world, but he’s off to a great start and would love a family who will continue introducing him to new sights, sounds, smells, and experiences at his own pace.

I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work!
