1. Milo
Adult (1 year 5 months) · Male · Poodle (Standard) (medium coat)

Meet Milo!
Milo is the newest member of the Underdog family, and we’re excited to get to know this fun-loving, energetic boy! So far, we’ve discovered that Milo loves spending time with his humans, playing with his favorite toys, and keeping himself entertained by tossing his toys around and then fetching them. This clever boy knows how to have a good time!
Milo already knows some basic commands, including sit, paw/shake, come, and stay. He’s also 100% house-trained and will ring a bell to let you know when he needs to go outside. What a smart cookie!
Read more about Milo
Friendly doesn’t even begin to describe Milo! Whether you’re an old friend or someone he’s meeting for the very first time, Milo wants to say hello. He loves people and is always ready to make a new friend.
At around one year old, Milo is still a young pup with plenty to learn. He’ll benefit from continued obedience training, especially when it comes to leash manners and walking skills. He’s also working on some typical young-dog behaviors, such as counter surfing and barking when he gets excited or wants to express himself. With time, consistency, and positive reinforcement, Milo has so much potential to become an amazing companion.
This active boy loves going on long walks where he can sniff all the wonderful smells the world has to offer. Squirrels don’t seem to distract him too much, but bunnies definitely catch his attention! When it’s time to play, Milo is a big fan of fetch, balls, and durable chew toys.
Milo is looking for a person or family who can keep up with his energy, provide structure and training, and include him in an active lifestyle. He’ll thrive with someone who has the time and patience to help him grow into his best self while enjoying all the fun and adventures life has to offer.
In return, you’ll get a smart, playful, affectionate companion who will fill your days with laughter, love, and plenty of tail wags.
Could Milo be the missing piece in your family? ❤️
Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. 2. Murphy
Adult (2 years 8 months) · Male · Cockapoo / Mixed (long coat)

Meet Murphy! Your New Best Friend and Professional Cuddle Buddy! ❤️
If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate, playful companion who will always be by your side, Murphy might just be your guy!
Murphy is a happy, confident, loving boy who absolutely adores his people. Whether he's snoozing on a dog bed next to your desk while you work, carrying around his favorite toy, joining you for a walk, or snuggling up on the couch at the end of the day, Murphy's favorite place is wherever you are. He's a true little shadow who will happily keep you company and make sure you never feel lonely!
Read more about Murphy
Murphy is a fun combination of playful and laid-back. He enjoys toys, fetch, squeaky plushies, snuffle mats, and especially spending quality time with his humans. He's energetic and enjoys getting out for walks and playtime, but once he's had some exercise, he's more than happy to settle in and relax. He also loves exploring the world with his nose, so leisurely sniff-filled walks are right up his alley! A fenced-in yard would be a wonderful bonus.
He's fully potty trained, leash trained, and a smart boy who is eager to learn. He already knows "sit" and "shake" and is working on improving his recall. He's also friendly and confident when meeting new people and is always happy to accept attention from anyone willing to give it!
Murphy gets along well with other dogs, although he generally prefers playing with his human friends. He's also very cat-savvy! He hasn't been around children, so a proper introduction and assessment would be important. One thing to know is that Murphy can be protective of high-value treats like bones around other dogs, so he'll need his own space to enjoy those special goodies.
Murphy's biggest challenge is being away from his people. He struggles with separation anxiety and can bark persistently when left alone, even when other dogs are present. His ideal home would be with someone who works from home, is retired, or otherwise spends most of their time at home. He is working on building confidence with alone time, and he'll need a patient family willing to continue helping him with that. Car rides can also make him anxious, although he enjoys feeling the breeze when the weather is nice!
At the end of the day, Murphy isn't asking for much. He just wants a family to love, a cozy spot to nap, toys to play with, walks to sniff, and plenty of opportunities to be close to his favorite people.
If you're looking for a devoted companion who will be your shadow, your cuddle buddy, your walking partner, and your very best friend, Murphy is ready to meet you! ❤️

3. Grainger
Adult (2 years 1 month) · Male · French Bulldog (short coat)

Meet Grainger! Your New Best Friend Is Waiting!
If you're looking for a loving, affectionate companion who just wants to be by your side, Grainger may be your perfect match!
Grainger LOVES people, both men and women! He gets so excited when it's time to come out of his crate and greet you with kisses. He's a total sweetheart who loves attention, snuggling next to you, and nesting in cozy blankets. He loves being spoken to softly, praised, and told what a good boy he is. And get ready for those adorable head tilts!
Read more about Grainger
Grainger is eager to please and is learning his manners. We're working on jumping, as he gets so excited to see his favorite people. He may also give affectionate little nibbles on your inner elbow or ears. He responds well to correction, although he may need a few reminders. Because of his enthusiasm, a home without small children may be best.
House Manners & Potty Training
Grainger is doing wonderfully with his potty training! He prefers going outside but will also use a potty pad if you miss his subtle signals. He does best when someone accompanies him outside, encourages him with a "Go Potty," and gives him lots of praise. He doesn't have accidents in his crate and settles in nicely. He may whimper softly at first because he'd much rather be with you, but he falls asleep quickly.
Other Dogs & Playtime
Grainger isn't quite sure how to play with other dogs yet. When his foster siblings play, he prefers to give them space and observe. He could be perfectly happy as your one-and-only or could be integrated into a home with another dog. He just wants love, attention, and a full food bowl!
Fun Facts About Grainger
Great car rider! He sits nicely beside you without trying to climb into your seat and doesn't require a crate for car rides.
Loves Benebones, balls, and stuffies. He especially enjoys chewing and trying to get those stuffies open!
Very cooperative when it's time to take toys away.
Loves bath time and does beautifully with grooming wipes.
Learning to sit and patiently wait.
Crates easily and settles down quickly.
Loves his food and gets excited for mealtime!
A Little About His Diet
Grainger has allergies, so his foster family has been careful to keep him on a raw diet that he absolutely loves. Because of his dietary needs, he isn't currently given treats. His food routine will need to be maintained and discussed with his adopter.
Grainger is a loving, gentle-hearted boy who wants nothing more than to be close to his people. He's happiest when he's getting affection, hearing your sweet voice, and knowing he's a good boy.
Could you be the person Grainger has been waiting for? ❤️

4. Isle
Adult (1 year 5 months) · Male · Dachshund (short coat)

Meet Isle!
Isle is a handsome one-year-old long-haired Dachshund who is ready to find his forever home! This sweet boy loves being with his people and is happiest when he can snuggle up in your lap and be part of whatever you’re doing. He’s also a big fan of going for walks and is a wonderful leash walker. When he’s not out exploring, you can usually find him happily chewing on a bone or playing with his favorite stuffed toys.
Read more about Isle
Like many Dachshunds, Isle has a voice and isn’t afraid to use it! He can be vocal when he hears unfamiliar sounds or notices people in his surroundings. He’s still working on his potty training, but he does well when kept on a consistent schedule.
Isle gets along well with other dogs and has done well with cats, too. While he hasn’t shown aggression toward children, he isn’t particularly fond of their high energy, so a home with older, calmer kids or adults may be the best fit for him.
A securely fenced yard is a must for Isle. If something startles him, he may take off running, so having a safe, enclosed space is important.
Isle is a total stage-five clinger who wants to be his person’s constant companion! ❤️ As he’s settling in and becoming more comfortable, he’s showing some separation anxiety and has become very attached to his foster. We think he would do best in a home where someone is home most of the time and is looking for a true companion to share their day with.
Isle also seems to bond closely with one person and takes a little time to warm up to other members of the household. We’ve also noticed that he seems wary of men. He isn’t showing aggression, but he can be very cautious, barking and running away when he feels unsure. Since we don’t have any men living in our home, we can’t say for certain how he would adjust to having a man in his everyday environment, so this is something his future family should be prepared to work on gently and patiently.
Isle is a sweet boy with so much love to give, but he does have some things he’ll need help working through. He’ll thrive with someone who understands that building confidence takes time, can provide reassurance without rushing him, and is willing to help him learn that being alone can be safe, too.
At the end of the day, Isle is a young Dachshund who simply wants to be close to his person. He’s looking for a family who will give him love, patience, consistency, and plenty of opportunities to snuggle. If you’re looking for a loyal little companion who will happily join you for walks and then curl up in your lap afterward, Isle might just be your guy!

6. Georgia
Adult (3 years 1 month) · Female · Maltese (medium coat)

Meet Sweet Little Georgia — Your Future Little Shadow!
Sweet Little Georgia is looking for her forever home! This darling girl is sweet, cuddly, curious, and absolutely loves the people she meets. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Georgia might just be your perfect match!
Read more about Georgia
Georgia is happiest when she’s close to her people. She loves being held, snuggling in a warm lap, and curling up on a cozy blanket right next to you. She would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the day so she can follow her favorite human from room to room like the little shadow she’s destined to be. ❤️
Georgia is making progress with her potty training! She potties outside consistently when taken out and is still learning the routine for pooping. The good news? She gives plenty of warning, so an attentive human can help her get outside in time. With patience, consistency, and encouragement, we’re confident she’ll continue to make great progress. She’s also working on learning the commands “come” and “go potty.”
This curious girl is beginning to show interest in toys and bones, too! She’s had extensive dental work and is still healing from her extractions, so she hasn’t had much experience playing with them just yet. We can’t wait to see her little personality blossom as she gets more comfortable!
Georgia has had some playtime with the resident dog in her foster home, although she tends to be more interested in doing her own thing when other dogs try to engage her in play. She has done well with all the children she’s met and is wonderfully quiet around passing dogs and visitors.
Calm, friendly, affectionate, and full of love, Georgia doesn’t ask for much — just a cozy spot, a loving family, and someone who will let her be their little shadow.
Could Georgia be the missing piece of your family? If you have room in your heart and a warm lap to share, this sweet girl would love to meet you!

7. Talbot
Adult (4 years 11 months) · Male · Schnauzer (medium coat)

Hi there! I'm Talbot, a brave guy a gentle heart, a curious mind, and a playful spirit that's just beginning to emerge. I spent my early years in a commercial breeding environment, so I'm still discovering many of the everyday experiences other dogs take for granted. Sometimes the world feels a little intimidating, but I'm curious, I'm smart, and I'm learning to be brave!
Read more about Talbot
Once I get to know you, I'm a pretty wonderful companion, if I do say so myself! I love being near my people, whether that's relaxing on the couch or lounging on one of my beds. I'm affectionate but not demanding, and I have a few entertaining quirks. I love pouncing through piles of pillows, sleeping with my head dangling off the furniture, and doing an adorable little pitter-patter dance with my front paws when I'm feeling playful. I haven't quite figured out toys or playing with humans yet, but every so often, my goofy, spunky side comes out to say hello!
I LOVE going for walks and car rides! I get excited when it's time for an adventure, but once we're home, I'm perfectly happy to settle in and relax. I'm reliably house-trained, although I haven't learned how to tell you when I need to go out, so a regular routine works best. I'm also a champion sleeper. I sleep quietly through the night and patiently wait for you to start the day. Oh, and did I mention that I absolutely LOVE other dogs? I make friends easily and am a playful, respectful companion.
I'm a little cautious, but a LOT curious! New people and experiences sometimes make me nervous. I might offer a few introductory barks, especially when meeting men, but I settle down quickly. My curiosity usually wins out! Twice a week, I go to the office with my foster mom, where I've made lots of friends, especially with the people who bring treats. When I'm allowed to explore, I trot proudly from office to office with my nose in the air, investigating all those wonderful smells. Pretty impressive for a little guy who's still learning how the world works, don't you think?
There are a few things I'm still working on. Being picked up is especially scary for me, and when I'm frightened, I'd much rather retreat than confront anyone. I've never shown aggression in my foster home; I'm just a sensitive little guy who needs time to feel safe. I'm also learning that it's okay to be left alone. Sometimes I bark or get anxious, so I'll need a family willing to help me build confidence and independence at my own pace. The good news? I'm a quick learner! I think positive-reinforcement obedience classes would be a great way for us to learn and grow together.
So, what would my perfect home look like? I'd love a calm, adult-only home without children, where life is relatively predictable and I can explore new experiences at my own pace. I'd be especially happy with another friendly, playful dog who has a similar energy level. Having a canine buddy to play with and show me the ropes would be wonderful!
Most of all, I'm looking for someone who's patient, kind, and willing to celebrate the little victories with me. Someone who understands that I don't need to become a different dog; I just need the opportunity to become the best version of myself.
You see, I'm an intelligent, loving little dog who simply hasn't had the life experiences most dogs take for granted. Beneath my cautious exterior is a curious, affectionate, sometimes hilariously goofy little guy who wants to connect, explore, play, and belong.
I've already come a long way, and I have a feeling the best is yet to come. Maybe you could be the one to help me discover just how far I can go!

8. Yurman
Adult (2 years 5 months) · Male · Shih Tzu / Bichon Frise / Mixed (medium coat)

Meet Galaxy Destroyer (Yurman)!
Galaxy Destroyer arrived feeling scared and unsure of people. During his first few days, he was so frightened that he even tried to escape the fenced yard. But with time, patience, and a little encouragement from his canine friends, this sweet boy has made wonderful progress!
Today, Galaxy Destroyer confidently heads outside with the other dogs and comes back into the house when called. He looks to his canine companions for reassurance and guidance, following their lead as he continues to learn that the world—and the people in it—can be safe and kind.
Read more about Yurman
Galaxy enjoys treats and will occasionally play with toys when he feels comfortable. Loud noises can startle him, so he’ll need a calm, understanding home where he can settle in at his own pace without being rushed or pressured.
His ideal home? A patient, loving family with a securely fenced yard and another friendly, well-adjusted dog to be his buddy. Having a confident canine companion will help Galaxy continue building trust and discovering the joys of being part of a family.
Galaxy Destroyer may need a little extra time to let his guard down, but underneath that initial shyness is a sweet boy with so much love to give. ❤️ With a safe environment, a doggy friend, and someone willing to believe in him, Galaxy has every opportunity to keep blossoming.
Could you be the person who helps Galaxy Destroyer discover that he’s finally home?

One of Loring's favorite things is being close to his humans. He's an amazing snuggle buddy who just wants to love and be loved. He's eager to please, learns quickly, and is ready to keep discovering the world alongside his forever family.
Could your home be the place where Loring's next adventure begins? Could you be the one to give this sweet boy all the love, security, and forever snuggles he deserves?
Loring is ready to give you his whole heart. Will you be his forever? ❤️
I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready!
**Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work!

10. Archie
Puppy (5 months 24 days) · Male · Maltese (medium coat)

Meet Baby Archie!
“Are you ready for some puppy kisses?” — Love, Archie!
Archie is the sweetest little guy with a big heart and so much love to give! At home, he’s completely comfortable and loves prancing around the house, checking in on every room to make sure he doesn’t miss a thing. He’s a perfect mix of playful and cuddly, with little bursts of energy when he’s ready to play and a love for squeaky toys. Once he’s all tuckered out, he’s more than happy to curl up in your lap for a nice, long nap. ❤️
Read more about Archie
This little shadow loves his people and wants to be wherever they are, preferably 24/7! Whether you’re lounging on the couch, going for a walk, or just going about your day, Archie is happiest by your side. He does well out in the world, but cars, people, and other dogs can be distracting. He can also be a little shy when strangers get too close, so he appreciates having the opportunity to approach people on his own terms. Loud noises can startle him, too, so a patient and understanding family will help him feel safe and secure.
Archie is still working on becoming fully potty trained, but he’s making progress and has minimal accidents when kept on a consistent potty schedule. He also experiences separation anxiety, so he would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time or where he has another companion to help keep him company.
If you’re looking for a little best friend who will happily snuggle in your lap, join you on walks, entertain you with his playful antics, and shower you with puppy kisses, Archie might just be your perfect match! He has so much love to give and is ready to find his forever family.

If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work!
11. Nokomis
Puppy (5 months 16 days) · Male · Maltese (medium coat)

Meet Nokomis — A Sweet Little Puppy Looking for His Forever Home!
Are you ready to add a little sweetness, silliness, and puppy love to your life? Meet Nokomis! This adorable little guy is looking for a loving forever home where he can grow, learn, and become the very best version of himself. ❤️
Read more about Nokomis
Nokomis is a happy, playful puppy who is full of personality! He has that special puppy charm that makes him so easy to fall in love with. He enjoys playing, exploring, and, of course, treats! If there’s food involved, you can bet Nokomis will be interested. His love of treats may also come in handy as he continues learning new things and building his confidence.
While Nokomis has a fun and playful side, he can be a little cautious when meeting new people. He may need some extra time to feel comfortable around someone new, so a patient and understanding family will be important for him. Rather than rushing him, allowing him to approach at his own pace and rewarding his brave moments will help him learn that the world can be a safe and wonderful place. Once he feels more comfortable, his sweet personality has so much room to shine!
Like many puppies, Nokomis is still learning all about the big world around him. Leash training is a work in progress, and right now, he sometimes freezes when he’s on the leash. He will need someone willing to work with him patiently, offering plenty of encouragement, gentle guidance, and tasty treats along the way. With time, consistency, and positive reinforcement, he can continue building confidence and learning that the leash can be part of fun adventures, exercise, and those important potty breaks.
Nokomis is also working on crate training. He can be vocal in his crate and may take a while to settle down, so his future family should be prepared to help him learn that his crate is a safe, comfortable place to relax. Patience, consistency, and a gentle approach will be important as he adjusts to his new surroundings and routine.
Please remember that Nokomis is still a puppy! He is learning, growing, and figuring out what is expected of him. He won't have everything mastered overnight, but with a family willing to invest time, love, and positive training, he has the opportunity to make wonderful progress. ❤️
✨ What makes Nokomis special? He's sweet, cute, and full of personality. He's happy and playful, with plenty of puppy fun to share. He loves treats and food, making them great tools for training. He has a softer, more cautious side that deserves patience and understanding. He's a work in progress who needs someone willing to help him learn and grow.
Nokomis is looking for more than just a place to live. He needs a family who will see his potential, celebrate his little victories, and stand by him as he gains confidence in new situations. Someone who understands that the best relationships take time and that watching a puppy blossom into a confident, loving companion can be one of life's sweetest rewards.
Imagine all the happy moments ahead: watching him discover his favorite toys, celebrating when he learns something new, enjoying playful puppy antics, and building a bond that grows stronger every day. With the right person by his side, Nokomis has so many wonderful experiences waiting for him!
If you have a loving heart, a little patience, and a willingness to help a young pup navigate the world, Nokomis may be the perfect addition to your family.
Nokomis is ready to start the next chapter of his life. Could that chapter be with you?
If you are looking for a best fr

12. Rico
Adult (6 years 6 months) · Male · Poodle (Miniature) (medium coat)

Rico the Poodle is looking for his forever home!
Rico is such a sweet, gentle, easygoing little guy who really just wants to be near his person. He is a very chill dog with a quiet, soft personality. He isn’t the kind of dog who demands a lot of attention or needs constant activity. Instead, he quietly moves around the house and seems happiest when he can simply lay down next to you. He has this gentle, almost old-soul quality about him. He moves slowly and quietly, and there is something incredibly endearing about the way he goes about his day.
Read more about Rico
Although Rico isn’t shy, he is cautious when meeting new people and likes to take his time before walking up to someone. Once he feels comfortable, though, he absolutely loves attention. One of his favorite things is to reach up and ask for pets, and he will happily stay close to you soaking up all the affection he can get. More than anything, Rico seems to want companionship. He wants a person who will let him be their little shadow and curl up beside them. He would be perfectly content spending much of his day resting next to someone on the couch or enjoying a quiet snuggle.
Rico doesn’t play a whole lot, although he has recently discovered a couple of squeaky toys and has shown some interest in them. He seems much more interested in being close to his person than running around entertaining himself. He walks nicely on a leash when he goes outside for potty breaks and exercise, and while he knows some commands, his listening skills can come and go when he is outside. He enjoys getting out for walks but doesn’t need a marathon to be happy. He seems very content with a calm, predictable routine.
Rico is not completely potty trained yet, but he is really, really close. When he is kept on a good schedule, he does very well. The accidents he has had have primarily been when he has been left for extended periods while we are at work. With someone who is home more often or able to maintain a consistent potty schedule, we believe he could be very easy to care for. His former owner also told us that he did well in a crate. We don't currently have a crate, so we haven't been able to test that ourselves, but it may be something that would help him feel more comfortable when left alone.
Rico does bark a little when he hears noises, and he does bark when we aren't home. We don't know exactly how much of this is separation-related or how he might do in a crate, so that is something his forever family will need to be patient with as he adjusts. He is otherwise a very quiet dog who doesn't spend his day making noise.
Rico gets along well with our resident dog, who is a 50-pound female Bernedoodle with a very confident personality and lots of energy. She has snapped at him a couple of times, and Rico's response has been to simply move away and ignore her. He doesn't seem interested in confrontation and has shown a very gentle, tolerant nature around her.
Rico does move like a quiet old man. He walks slowly and can be a little awkward on the stairs, but he definitely has some spring in his step when he wants it! He can jump right up onto our elevated king bed, which is about 36 inches high, so there is more ability and energy in that little body than his slow-and-steady walking might suggest. He seems to have his own pace and is happiest when life is calm and predictable.
We really think Rico could be an incredible companion for someone who is looking for a quiet, loving dog. He seems especially suited to someone who wants a snuggle buddy and a little companion who will happily lay beside them for hours. He doesn't need a busy household or endless entertainment. He just wants to feel safe, loved, and included.
There is something very special about this little guy. He has such a gentle presence and such a sweet way of asking for affection. When he reaches up for pets or quietly settles down beside you, it's hard not to fall in love with him. ❤️
Rico is ready for a forever home where someone w

13. Shelby
Adult (6 years 1 month) · Female · Maltese (medium coat)

Meet Shelby! A Tiny Maltese with a Big Personality!
Hi, I’m Shelby! I’m a tiny Maltese with a whole lot of love, a playful spirit, and a personality that makes me seem much younger than I am!
I’m a very friendly little girl who loves being around my people and making friends with other dogs. I’m currently living with three little dogs in my foster home (Maltese and Poms), and I get along great with them! I’d love a home where I can have plenty of companionship, cuddles, and playtime.
Read more about Shelby
One of my favorite things in the whole world is my stuffed squeaky toys! You’ll often find me happily trotting around with one in my mouth, showing off my favorite treasure. When I’m not busy playing, I’m more than happy to snuggle up on the couch with my favorite humans.
I’m a pretty easygoing girl overall, and I do well spending the night loose in my foster home. I’m not a big fan of kennels, though, and I can be vocal when crated or left alone for a while. I may need a little patience and understanding as I settle into my forever home.
Because I’m so tiny, I’ll need a family that keeps my safety in mind. I can squeeze through surprisingly small openings in chain-link fencing, so I’ll need close supervision whenever I’m outside. I’d also do best with other small, gentle dogs rather than large, active dogs who might accidentally hurt me during playtime.
I have so much love to give and a fun, youthful spirit that will keep you smiling! Whether we’re playing with squeaky toys, hanging out with other little dogs, or cuddling on the couch, I’m happiest when I’m with my people.
Could you be my forever family? If you’re looking for a tiny, friendly, playful companion who’s ready to fill your home with love, I might just be your girl! ❤️

14. Nate
Adult (4 years 4 months) · Male · Maltese (medium coat)

Meet Sir Nate!
Nate is slowly but surely coming out of his shell, and this adorable little guy is showing us more of his personality every day!
He’s a bit of a goofy character who likes to keep you guessing. Sometimes, you’ll reach out to pet him and he’ll scamper away. Other times, he’ll come right up to you and ask to be picked up or invited onto the couch so he can curl up in your lap or snuggle beside you. One thing is becoming increasingly clear: Nate really loves his people and is learning just how wonderful human affection can be! He seems to absolutely love being petted and is craving more and more attention as his confidence grows.
Read more about Nate
Nate has recently started showing interest in toys and has even begun playing with a little squeaky toy! He isn’t quite playing with his foster siblings yet, but we think there’s a good chance he’ll continue to blossom and discover the fun of playing with other dogs in time. He enjoys the company of his resident canine friends, but he isn’t dependent on them to feel comfortable. He could happily live with other friendly dogs or potentially be the only dog in a home where he gets plenty of love and companionship.
Leash walking is still a work in progress, but Nate does better when he has other dogs walking alongside him. With patience, encouragement, and a little practice, he should continue to improve. He’s also VERY food-motivated, which is always a plus when it comes to training!
Nate is still recovering from his neuter and dental surgery, during which he had 10 teeth removed, but you’d hardly know it from his cheerful attitude! He was happy to get home and get back to his usual activities. His vet also detected a slight heart murmur that was considered low risk and not expected to cause him significant issues.
So, what kind of home would be perfect for Sir Nate? We think he could be a wonderful companion for a single person, a couple, or a family. He may be the kind of dog who forms a particularly special bond with one favorite person, but he has plenty of love to give. With his small size and sweet, silly personality, he could also make a lovely companion for considerate children who understand how to be gentle with a little dog.
Nate is still discovering the joys of being a beloved companion, and watching his confidence grow is such a rewarding experience. He’s cute as can be, loves treats, enjoys affection, and is beginning to let his goofy little personality shine.
Could you be the person Nate has been waiting for? Give this sweet boy a little patience, a lot of love, and a cozy spot beside you on the couch, and you just might find your new best friend! ❤️

15. Lulu
Adult (7 years 2 months) · Female · Maltese (medium coat)

Meet Lulu the Maltese — Looking for Her Forever Home! ❤️
Sweet Lulu is still learning about the comforts of home and discovering what it means to feel safe and loved. She’s a curious little girl who enjoys exploring her surroundings and being held by her trusted humans.
Lulu loves having a furry friend! She follows her foster sister around and seems to take comfort in having another dog nearby. She enjoys picking up little toys, especially soft or rubber ones, even if she hasn’t quite figured out how to play with them yet.
Read more about Lulu
Lulu is still building her confidence and will need a patient, understanding family willing to let her settle in at her own pace. The world can be a scary place for this little girl, and she is very fearful of new things. She is not leash-trained yet and is a flight risk, so her safety will need to be a top priority while she learns to trust her new surroundings.
Lulu is looking for a home that offers:
A patient, loving family who will give her time to blossom.
A friendly companion dog to help her feel safe and secure.
A safe, secure environment with extra precautions to prevent escapes.
Gentle encouragement as she learns about leash walking and the big world around her.
Plenty of love, cuddles, and understanding. ❤️
Lulu may need a little extra time to feel comfortable, but with patience, consistency, and a canine friend by her side, she deserves the chance to discover just how wonderful life can be.

16. Brigette
Adult (5 years 1 month) · Female · Poodle (Toy) (medium coat)

Meet Sweet Brigette!
Brigette is a sweet, shy girl who is looking for her forever home. She may need a little time, patience, and reassurance to feel comfortable, but once she knows she is safe, her gentle personality starts to shine.
Brigette is curious and eager to please. She takes her cues from the resident dogs around her, so she will need a confident companion dog in her new home to help her feel secure and continue building her confidence.
Read more about Brigette
She is beginning to discover the joys of toys—and she’s also becoming curious about whatever happens to be sitting on the coffee table! She doesn’t quite come all the way to you for affection yet, but when she is cozy in her bed, she absolutely loves ear scratches and belly rubs. Freeze-dried treats are another fast way to win her heart!
Brigette can be startled by overwhelming commotion and will need a calm, predictable environment where she can decompress at her own pace. She currently uses potty pads only, so her adopter should be prepared to continue working with her on house training.
She also barks in her crate and can take some time to settle down. Her bark is VERY loud and shrill, so a home without shared walls is a must.
Her nervousness is very understandable, but she responds beautifully to gentle reassurance. At the vet, Brigette was initially trembling in her foster's arms. After just a minute of being held close and spoken to softly, she completely relaxed. ❤️
Brigette is such a sweet little soul. She doesn't need someone to rush her—she needs someone who will give her patience, reassurance, a canine buddy, and the time to learn that she is finally home.
If you have a calm home, a friendly resident dog, and lots of love and patience to give, Brigette may be the girl you've been waiting for.

18. Jolene
Adult (2 years 1 month) · Female · German Shepherd Dog / Belgian Shepherd Malinois / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Sweet Jolene!
Sweet Jolene has a huge heart and a zest for life. She is incredibly affectionate, curious, playful, and happiest when she can be near her people. She’s the kind of dog who will happily follow you around the house, supervise whatever you’re doing, and then curl up nearby while you work.
At Home
Jolene loves being involved in everything her family does. She follows you around the house and is genuinely interested in whatever is happening. She is interested in the family’s dinner but does not try to take food from you.
Read more about Jolene
She is house-trained, sleeps quietly through the night, and greets every morning like it’s the most exciting day of her life. She is a wonderful companion and loves simply being with her people.
Jolene is also protective of her home and property. When people visit or walk past the house, she can bark loudly and her barking can sound aggressive. With consistent desensitization and training, we believe this behavior could be improved.
One thing to be aware of is that she does not love being separated from the family when everyone is outside without her. She may watch from the windows or doors, barking and whining, and she has been known to stand on her hind legs and damage blinds. This is something her future family should be prepared to manage.
Activity & Exercise
Jolene is an active, high-energy dog who needs both physical exercise and mental stimulation. She loves walks, playing with balls, and tug-of-war. If she doesn’t get enough activity, she may find her own entertainment by chewing on things around the house.
She would do best with an active person or family who enjoys spending time outdoors, playing, training, and keeping a smart, energetic dog engaged.
Training & Manners
Jolene is leash trained and knows basic commands such as sit and shake. She is still very treat-motivated, so she sometimes needs a little snack-based encouragement to show off her skills.
She does well away from home and has accompanied us to places such as Home Depot, PetSmart, Home Goods, and friends’ houses.
Things Jolene Loves
Going for walks
Car rides
Playing with balls of all kinds
Tug-of-war
Treats of absolutely every variety
Being with her people
Following you around the house
Getting lots of attention and affection
She is also a VERY heavy toy chewer, so sturdy toys are definitely recommended!
❤️ The Best Things About Jolene
My favorite thing about Jolene is how genuinely happy she is to see you. She is happiest simply being near her people. She’ll follow you around the house, check out whatever you’re doing, and then curl up beside you while you work.
She is sweet, affectionate, playful, house-trained, good on a leash, comfortable in the car, and a wonderful companion.
Jolene is looking for an active family who can give her the exercise, enrichment, training, and mental stimulation that a Belgian Malinois needs. In return, you’ll get a joyful, loyal, loving dog who thinks every morning is the best morning ever.
Sweet Jolene has so much love to give — she just needs the right home where her big energy can shine. ❤️

19. Cuyon
Adult (5 years 1 month) · Male · Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat)

Hi, my name is Cuyon!
I’m a very cuddly boy at home, and I’ll happily seek you out and invade your personal space whenever I get the chance. I’m also your typical Chihuahua, which means I take my job as the neighborhood watch very seriously. If I think someone might be thinking about coming close to the house, I’ll make sure you know about it!
Read more about Cuyon
Outside the home, I love getting out and sniffing all the new things around the neighborhood. I’m a confident boy on walks and am always happy to check things out. I’m also a big fan of treats—any and all treats, please! Squeaky toys are another favorite, although I may guard them a little (I’m getting better!). But honestly, cuddles will win me over every time.
I’m an independent Southern boy with a strong codependence on my people when it’s time to relax. My name is Cuyon for “foolish” or “silly,” and it fits me pretty well. Don’t worry—we’ll help you learn how to pronounce it correctly!
I’m an expert wiggler when I’m excited, and I have a very strong opinion about food. If there’s something delicious in your hand and I’m not getting it, you’re definitely going to hear about it. One of my greatest accomplishments is my play bow, and seeing it for the first time is truly a gift—and an invitation that should absolutely be accepted!
Toys can be a little complicated, though. I need some time to trust you with the important responsibility of throwing my toy or giving it back to me. Luckily, I’ll be bringing my favorite gorilla toy along with me.
I do take some time to warm up. I want to know that you aren’t going to force a friendship before I decide you’re worthy of my attention. Once I make that decision, though, I can really go all in! I’m not a fan of manicures or pedicures, but I’m learning that being held like a baby might come with some pretty great perks.
I would do best with older kids who understand personal space and can respect my boundaries. I’m great with other dogs, respectfully curious about cats, and I’m pretty good at letting you know when I’ve had enough attention. Think of my little grumbles as my way of saying, “Thank you, that’s quite enough affection for now.”
If you’re ready to be judged from across the room, challenged to meet my cuddle standards, and entertained by one very silly Southern boy, then I might just be the guy for you.
Come meet me, and bring the treats. I’ll bring the wiggles, the cuddles, and my favorite gorilla.

Adult (1 year 1 month) · Male · Pumi / Mixed (medium coat)

Hi, my name is Wooly! I’m a super sweet boy who is already settling into the big yard house life, and I’m having a blast! I have BIG, BIG puppy energy, and I’m going to have that energy for quite a while, so my future family will need to have LOTS of patience with me. I’m playful, curious, silly, and always ready to see what fun thing is happening next. I’m the kind of puppy who will keep you laughing, but I’m also going to keep you on your toes!
Read more about Wooly
I’m still working on my potty training, and this is an area where I will need someone who is willing to be patient and consistent with me. I do pretty well with pooping outside, but when I get distracted playing, I sometimes forget my manners and like to mark inside. I’m still learning what is expected of me, and I’ll need a family who understands that potty training takes time and consistency. I would do especially well with humans who are home often and can help me stay on a routine, take me outside frequently, and keep working with me until I really understand the rules.
Obedience training will definitely be a must for me. I’m a young, energetic boy who is still learning how to appropriately interact with people, and I have been working on my mouthy puppy play. We’ve slowly started breaking that habit, but I still have a long way to go. I’m very food motivated, though, and I absolutely LOVE interacting with my humans, so I have two things going for me that should make training a lot of fun! With patience, consistency, positive reinforcement, and someone willing to put in the time, I have so much potential to become an amazing companion.
I do okay in a kennel. I may cry for a little bit when I first go in, but after some time I settle down. I do need someone who understands that I’m still a puppy and shouldn’t be expected to stay kenneled for long periods of time. If I’m left too long, I may have an accident. I’m still learning, and I’ll need a family who is willing to work with me instead of expecting me to be perfect right away.
When it comes to fun, I am ALL IN! I love toys, I love treats, and I REALLY love to fetch. Give me a toy and some space to run, and I am one happy boy! I absolutely enjoy having the freedom to zoom around and play in a fenced yard, and honestly, I enjoy it way too much to not have that as an everyday option. A secure fenced yard would be an important part of my ideal home because I have so much puppy energy that I need a safe place where I can run, play, explore, and burn some of it off.
Because I’m still working on potty training, I’m very active, and I can be a little noisy and energetic, I would do best in a home without shared walls. I need a family who understands that bringing me home means committing to the puppy stage, including the accidents, training, chewing, mouthy play, zoomies, and all the other silly things that come with being a young dog. I’m not looking for someone who expects a perfectly trained dog right away. I’m looking for someone who sees my potential and is willing to help me become the best version of myself.
I’m a sweet boy with a LOT of personality and so much love to give. I’m playful, food motivated, people-oriented, and eager to interact with my humans. I just need someone who is willing to give me the time, structure, patience, and training I need to grow into the wonderful dog I know I can be. If you’re ready for BIG puppy energy, lots of fetch, plenty of laughs, and a sweet boy who is still learning his way in the world, I just might be your guy. ❤️

21. Cheese
Puppy (6 months) · Male · Chihuahua (short coat)

Meet Cheese!
Cheese is a fun, playful, sweet little guy who is absolutely full of energy and personality! His tail is almost always wagging, and he is genuinely excited to see everyone — strangers, neighbors, friends, and especially his people.
Cheese loves to play and has been learning how to interact appropriately with dogs of all sizes. He has a playful attitude and is making great progress with his dog-to-dog skills. He loves being outside, going for walks, chasing squirrels, and doing zoomies around the house. He’s a highly active boy who would love a home that can keep up with his energy and continue helping him learn.
Read more about Cheese
When playtime is over, Cheese is happy to curl up on the couch for cuddles with his people. He also loves napping in the sunshine and, of course, investigating any snacks that happen to be left within reach!
Cheese is crate trained and is quiet and clean in his crate at night. He may bark during the day when left crated, so he is still working on feeling comfortable when separated from his people. He is potty trained on a schedule, although he may still have an occasional accident.
He is also working on his leash manners and is making progress toward becoming a great walking buddy. Cheese already knows several commands, including sit, come, go potty, and leave it. What a smart little boy!
Cheese is still learning about the world and how to respond to different situations. He is unsure about toddlers and smaller children and is continuing to learn how kids behave and interact. He has come so far since day one and is willing to learn, making progress with the right guidance, patience, and consistency.
One of Cheese’s favorite things is hearing someone come home — he perks right up and comes running to the door, ready to greet them! He is easy to have around, brings so much joy to his people, and has a wonderfully happy, playful spirit.
Cheese is a work in progress, but he is a very good boy who is learning more every day. His ideal home will continue building on his training, provide plenty of activity and enrichment, and appreciate all the goofy, energetic, cuddly joy this little guy has to offer.

22. Walter
Adult (5 years 1 month) · Male · American Bulldog (short coat)

Meet Walter! ❤️
Hi, my name is Walter, and I’m a big sweetheart who is learning that the world can be a pretty wonderful place when you have people you can trust. I’ve been slowly coming out of my shell in my foster home, and while I can be cautious and shy at first, I’m making progress every day. I may need a little time to feel comfortable in a new environment, but once I know I’m safe, my loving and affectionate personality really starts to shine.
Read more about Walter
One of my favorite things in the whole world is getting attention from my people. I absolutely LOVE being pet, and belly scratches are pretty much the way to my heart! I also have a funny habit of making myself into a lap dog. I may be a big guy, but that certainly doesn’t stop me from wanting to climb up next to you and cuddle. If you’re looking for a companion who will happily snuggle up with you and soak up all the love you’re willing to give, I might just be your guy.
I also really enjoy having canine friends. I love other dogs and can be playful with them. I currently live with two small dogs in my foster home, and I’ve been very respectful of their size and space. Having another confident, friendly dog around may even help me continue to build my confidence. I’m also okay with cats, although I sometimes forget that they aren’t supposed to be a fun game of chase! Because of that, any cats in my future home would need proper supervision and introductions.
I’m becoming more interested in toys, too! I’m still discovering what toys are all about, but large plush toys have definitely caught my attention. I’m sure with time, patience, and encouragement, I’ll continue to discover more things that I enjoy.
I’m also starting to enjoy going on walks. There is still some work to do in the leash-training department, though! I’m an extremely strong boy, and when I see another dog, I can get VERY excited and want to pull toward them. My foster family is helping me work on my leash manners, and I’ll need someone who is patient, consistent, and willing to continue that training with me. I already know some basic commands, including sit, go potty, outside, and kennel, so I’m definitely capable of learning and continuing to improve.
One thing that is especially important for me is having access to a secure, fenced yard every day. I absolutely love the freedom of being able to safely explore and enjoy a fenced-in space, and it’s something I would really benefit from having in my forever home. A fenced yard will also give me a great opportunity to get exercise, sniff around, play, and simply enjoy being a dog without the pressure of a leash.
I can be sensitive to overwhelming commotion, and busy or chaotic environments can be scary for me. I would do best with a family who understands that I may need some time to adjust and decompress when I first arrive. A calm, patient home where I can settle in at my own pace would help me feel secure and allow my true personality to come out. I don’t need someone to rush me—I just need someone willing to give me the time and reassurance I deserve.
I’m still healing physically, too. I’m currently finishing antibiotics after having an abscess that has cleared up. I have some scars around my neck, as well as a few scabs that are continuing to heal. My elbows also have some rough spots and scabs that should continue to improve with time and proper care.
Despite everything I’ve been through, I’m an incredibly loving boy. I’m learning to trust, learning to play, learning to enjoy walks, and learning that I can relax and be loved. I have so much potential, and I’m already showing what a wonderful companion I can be.
I’m looking for a forever family who will be patient with me, give me time to adjust, continue helping me with my leash skills, and appreciate all the love and cuddles I have to offer. In return, I’ll give you a whole lot of affection, companionship, and probably more than a few attempts to convince you that I absolutely belong in your lap!

23. Sailor
Adult (1 year 5 months) · Female · Cairn Terrier / Mixed (medium coat)

Sailor is a Cairn Terrier mix who is equal parts fun, playful, smart, and cuddly! This moderately high-energy girl loves just about everything life has to offer—toys, bones, treats, food, people, and especially being part of the pack. Sailor can be cautious when she encounters something new or meets new people, and she does best when she's given the time and space to feel comfortable at her own pace. She isn't a dog who wants everyone in her space right away, and coming on too strong can make her feel unsure, but once Sailor realizes she's safe and begins to trust you, a whole new side of her comes out - and it doesn't take long!
Read more about Sailor
Once she feels comfortable, Sailor becomes a loving, snuggly companion who loves her people. She also has plenty of hilarious little mannerisms that will keep you laughing and make you fall even more in love with her quirky personality. She just needs someone who understands that the best relationships take time to grow and who will let her decide when she's ready for that next step. Plus, if you have treats - ANY treats - she is all in. Sailor is extremely food motivated making training fun and rewarding.
Although not required, Sailor would love a confident, patient, and playful canine companion who can show her the ropes and engage her in play without overwhelming her. She's also been attending doggy daycare, where she's been working on her manners, making new friends, and learning to navigate new experiences. These positive interactions are helping her come out of her shell and discovery just how much fun the world can be!
This girl has plenty of energy, so an active family who can give her opportunities to run, play, learn, and explore will be important. She loves a good game of fetch, and daily zoomies are a must! While Sailor walks well on a leash, she is still building her confidence and is much more comfortable having the freedom to explore in a safe, secure space. A patient family willing to help her develop positive associations with leash walks at her own pace will be important. Because of her love of running and tendency to be an escape artist, especially in unfamiliar surroundings, a securely fenced yard is highly preferred. Sailor has also discovered that an open door can be an invitation to adventure, so her family will need to be especially mindful of securing doorways before opening them.
Sailor can be vocal when new people come into the home or something unfamiliar catches her attention, but she's generally easy to redirect. She's incredibly smart and eager to learn, so continued positive experiences will help her feel more secure in new situations. She's doing well with potty training on a consistent schedule, is crate trained, and keeps her crate clean. She's also great with kids who respect her boundaries and loves being involved in whatever her people are doing.
When the zoomies and games of fetch are over, Sailor turns into the sweetest cuddle bud who LOVES pets! She also loves soaking up the sunshine in a cozy spot. Once she feels safe and comfortable, her goofy, affectionate personality really shines through. Sailor has so much love to give and just needs a patient family willing to give her the time, encouragement, and security to let her be her best little self!

24. Frankie
Adult (2 years 3 months) · Male · Border Terrier / Mixed (medium coat)

Meet Frankie! ❤️
Frankie is looking for his forever home!!
Frankie is a sweet, happy, energetic boy who is always eager to please! He loves going for walks and is working hard on his leash manners. He still pulls a little, but he’s getting better every day!
He also loves chasing balls, playing with soft squeaky toys, and, of course, getting a good head scratch. Treats have been limited while he recovers from his recent dental, but he absolutely LOVES peanut butter on a lick mat!
Read more about Frankie
Frankie is friendly, outgoing, and happiest when he is with his people. He does get fearful when left alone, so he would love a family who can be home with him a lot and give him the companionship he craves. He is currently working on crate training and is very food-motivated, which should make training him a lot of fun and fairly easy!
And Frankie has a little bit of a mischievous side… He is just tall enough to stand on his hind legs and sneak a sandwich right off the countertop if given the opportunity! So, keeping those sandwiches safely out of reach is definitely going to be important.
Frankie is truly the ultimate cuddle bug. He does well with cats and dogs. He loves to be wherever you are, he’ll follow you around, sit by your feet, he’s extremely loyal. He’s fully potty trained and has pretty obvious cues when he has to go outside.
Frankie is such a good boy with so much love to give. ❤️ He’s ready to find his people and start the next chapter of his life!
If you’re looking for a dog who will chill and watch a movie or go on a long walk, this is your pup! He takes awhile to warm up but once he does, he’ll be your best friend!
Who’s ready to make Frankie part of the family? ❤️

25. Ace
Adult (5 years 2 months) · Male · Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Ace ❤️ — A Sweet Little Guy Learning to Trust
Ace hasn’t had the easiest start in life, so he can be a little guarded when meeting new people or experiencing unfamiliar situations. His first instinct is often fear, especially when he feels threatened or overwhelmed by too much commotion. But beneath that cautious exterior is a sweet, cuddly little guy who is already showing just how much love he has to give. ❤️
Ace loves being close to his person and is beginning to show his affectionate side. He even does the cutest little happy twirl when he approaches me! He has only been here for six days, and he is already making wonderful progress.
Read more about Ace
Ace gets along well with the pups he has been introduced to, although he needs a little time to feel safe and comfortable before he’s ready to play. It took him just two days to settle in with the pups here, and he also did well with the pups in his first foster home. He has shown some resource guarding, but he has been responsive to gentle correction and is learning that he can feel safe in his environment.
He loves his food and treats, and he’s just beginning to explore the world of toys. He hasn’t found a favorite toy just yet, but he’s making progress one little step at a time!
Ace will need a patient, understanding adopter who is willing to let him settle in at his own pace, build trust, and help him navigate new experiences without overwhelming him. He responds well to gentle guidance, and it’s encouraging to see him learning and gaining confidence already.
I truly believe that, with the right person by his side, Ace has all the potential to blossom into a happy, confident, loving little companion. He just needs someone who understands that trust takes time and that the most beautiful transformations happen when a dog finally feels safe.
Ace may need a little extra patience at first, but he has already shown us glimpses of the sweet, affectionate boy he is becoming. Could you be the person who helps him discover just how wonderful life can be? ❤️

26. Skittles
Adult (1 year 1 month) · Female · Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat)

Meet Sweet Skittles!
Skittles is a sweet little bundle of energy who is looking for her forever home! She may be a little nervous in new situations at first, but once her people reassure her that she’s safe, she opens up quickly. After her long drive from Louisiana, she was exploring her foster home and asking for pets in less than 48 hours.
Read more about Skittles
Skittles is potty trained on a schedule and crate trained, including sleeping in her crate overnight. Her crate is her safe place, so she’ll likely appreciate having access to it regularly while she settles into a new home. When her people leave, she may bark at first, but she settles down relatively quickly—especially with a Kong!
She’s still working on a few puppy habits, including learning what is and isn’t appropriate to chew. Luckily, she has some favorite alternatives: Nyla Bones, Himalayan Dog Chews, and, of course, squeaky toys!
On walks, Skittles does well overall, although she has some pulling and would benefit from continued leash-training. She isn’t aggressively reactive to dogs or people, but she gets VERY excited when she sees runners or people on bikes. She just wants to join the fun!
Skittles’ dream home would ideally include:
• A fenced yard where she can run and burn off her energy
• A family who will continue helping her build confidence and learn
• Plenty of appropriate things to chew
• Lots of squeaky toys
• And possibly a friendly dog playmate!
Sweet, energetic, affectionate, and ready to find her people—meet Sweet Skittles! ❤️

27. Malcolm
Adult (1 year) · Male · Chihuahua (short coat)

Meet Malcolm!
Malcolm is a fun-loving, busy boy who loves everyone — people and dogs alike! He is always ready to play, chase, and entertain himself with his favorite toys. When he’s outside, you’ll often find him happily lounging in the grass and playing with his toys.
Malcolm does have a mischievous side! He has a particular love for stealing flip-flops and shoes, and if left unattended, he will happily turn them into his next destruction project. He is a very busy boy, so if Malcolm suddenly goes MIA, you’d better investigate — chances are, he’s found something interesting to get into!
Read more about Malcolm
Despite his busy personality, Malcolm also knows how to settle in with his favorite humans. He loves cuddling up on the couch while watching TV and is generous with his kisses, especially with his foster siblings.
If you plan to crate Malcolm, he has a preference for a hard-sided crate rather than a wire crate.
Malcolm has shown some resource guarding around his favorite person. His foster family has been working with him by correcting the behavior in the moment, and he is making progress. His future family should be willing to continue working patiently and consistently with him as he learns appropriate boundaries.
Overall, Malcolm is a playful, affectionate, silly, and entertaining boy who has a lot of love to give. He’s looking for a family who will appreciate his busy personality, keep him appropriately entertained, and continue helping him become the very best version of himself. ❤️

28. Marty Jane
Adult (9 years 2 months) · Male · Terrier / Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie (medium coat)

Marty Jane, a sweet Yorkie may be a senior, but don’t tell him that—he still has plenty of pep in his step! Marty is a happy, loving little guy who greets his favorite people with the biggest smile, excited bounces, and a tail that never seems to stop wagging. After a rough start in life, he’s more than ready to enjoy the comfort and love of a family who will cherish him.
Read more about Marty Jane
Marty’s favorite things are wonderfully simple: long walks, tasty treats, and snuggling up on the couch with his people. He’s always eager for an adventure and gets so excited when it’s time for a walk that he can hardly contain himself while you put on his harness! Once the excitement settles, he’s doing great with his leash manners and enjoys taking in the sights and smells. At home, he’s the perfect cuddle buddy, happily snoozing beside you with the sweetest little snores. Marty does require a fenced yard, as he has a strong desire to explore. Caution should be taken around main doors to the outside as he has jumped on opportunities to take himself for a leisurely stroll if doors are unattended. Young kids who may leave doors open would not be a fit due to this.
This affectionate boy loves attention from the people he trusts and will quickly become your loyal shadow. While he prefers a calmer home and isn’t a fan of lots of loud commotion, Marty has a cheerful, easygoing personality that shines through every day. He’s also incredibly food motivated, making treats a great way to continue building his confidence and teaching him new things.
If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will happily join you for a stroll, curl up beside you for movie night, and greet you every day with a smile, Marty is ready to spend his golden years loving you with his whole heart.

Kiwi is a silly, high-energy girl who loves to run, play, and keep life entertaining! She absolutely adores her foster siblings and does great with dog-friendly dogs. Toys are one of her favorite things, and she can’t wait to find someone who will play with her—and then snuggle with her afterward. ❤️
Kiwi is also quite the little watchdog. She may bark when she first meets you, at unfamiliar noises, or simply to let everyone know she’s there and that this is her house! Once she warms up to you, though, she turns into an absolute doll.

She loves lounging in the window for a good nap and soaking up the sunshine. Kiwi does enjoy mouthy play and can get a little bity when she’s excited, so she’ll benefit from continued guidance and redirection.

30. Pearl HW+
Adult (3 years 11 months) · Female · French Bulldog (short coat)

Meet Pearl Your Future Little Sidekick!
Silly, sweet, and just a touch sassy, Pearl is a Frenchie with a personality that’s really starting to shine! After a slow start adjusting to life in foster care, including the challenges of summer heat and heartworm treatment, Pearl has been able to stretch her legs, explore the world, and show off her fun-loving side. Now, this spunky little girl is ready to find a forever home where she can continue to blossom!
A girl who loves her beauty sleep
Read more about Pearl HW+
Pearl appreciates a slow morning and can often be found snoozing on the couch well into the morning hours. By afternoon, though, she’s ready to turn up the fun! She enjoys playing with toys (plush toys beware—sometimes they don’t survive!), chewing on bones, and showing off her silly side. She’s still learning which things are appropriate to chew, so she’ll benefit from continued supervision, plenty of appropriate chew toys, and a little help making good choices.
A social butterfly with a quirky greeting
Pearl is happy to meet new people and generally welcomes visitors into her home with enthusiasm. When meeting someone new, she may lower herself to the ground and army-crawl her way over for an introduction. It’s an adorable, somewhat submissive greeting, but she doesn’t appear frightened and is generally eager to say hello.
She can be vocal when she spots passersby or hears someone coming through the back door. Once she recognizes a familiar face, though, she’s happy to greet them. She’s still learning that not every little sound or movement requires an announcement!
Still learning her house manners
Pearl has made encouraging progress with potty training. She’s learning to take care of business outside and is beginning to head toward the door when she needs to go out. She also has a pretty reliable tell when she needs to poop: suddenly getting the zoomies! She still has occasional indoor accidents, especially if she’s left unsupervised, so a consistent routine and close supervision will help her continue to succeed.
At night, Pearl sleeps in an exercise pen rather than a crate. She sometimes has overnight potty accidents and may occasionally bark, so her future family should be prepared to continue working with her on nighttime routines and housetraining.
A work in progress when it comes to sharing
Pearl has some resource-guarding behaviors around food and her favorite person. She may try to beat the resident dog to a treat, and she can sometimes growl or snap when another dog approaches the couch while she’s snuggled up with her foster. Her foster has been managing these situations thoughtfully, including feeding the dogs separately and using calm, consistent routines around shared spaces.
Because of this, Pearl will need an adopter who understands dog behavior, respects her boundaries, and is committed to positive, reward-based training and careful management. A home without other dogs may be the simplest fit for her right now, or an experienced adopter prepared to manage dog-to-dog resource guarding safely. Any future introductions to other pets should be handled thoughtfully.

31. Missy
Adult (6 years 4 months) · Female · Chihuahua (short coat)

Missy may be small, but the love she has to give is anything but. This darling Chihuahua has the sweetest soul and a gentle, trusting nature that makes her impossible not to adore. She warms up to new people quickly and, once she knows you’re a friend, she’s happiest right by your side—whether she’s curled up in her cozy bed, being carried around, or snuggled under the blankets with her favorite human.
Read more about Missy
Missy absolutely adores people and has never met a treat she didn’t appreciate! She’s food-motivated, enjoys mealtime, and is always happy to earn a tasty reward—though treats should be given in moderation because this little lady likes to keep her girlish figure.
She gets along beautifully with all dog-friendly dogs and truly enjoys having canine companions around. Missy is generally a quiet little girl and rarely barks unless the other dogs decide there’s something worth announcing. She would prefer a home without cats, as they simply aren’t her cup of tea.
Missy walks nicely on a leash and enjoys getting out to explore. She is doing well with her potty training and thrives on a consistent schedule. Because she doesn’t let you know when she needs to go outside, she’ll do best with a family that takes her out regularly. She doesn’t require a fenced yard or a kennel, making her an easy addition to many different types of homes.
Missy would be happiest in a home with older, respectful children or adults only. We’ve learned that young children make her feel frightened and uncomfortable. While she may growl to ask for space, she has not shown any desire to lash out. She’ll thrive in a calm home where her boundaries are understood and respected.
While she’ll occasionally toss around a toy, people are by far Missy’s favorite thing. She would much rather be held, cuddled, and showered with affection than spend her day playing. She’ll happily soak up every bit of love you have to offer and will return it tenfold with kisses, loyalty, and unwavering devotion.
Whoever is lucky enough to welcome Missy home won’t be disappointed. She is an incredibly kind, affectionate, and adaptable little companion who will cherish every bit of attention she receives. In return, she’ll fill your days with unconditional love and remind you just how special the bond between a dog and their person can be.

32. Coco
Senior (13 years 11 months) · Female · Shih Tzu / Havanese / Mixed (medium coat)

I
f you’re looking for a gentle, devoted companion, Coco may be the perfect match. This adorable Shih Tzu/Dachshund mix is as sweet as they come and has a quiet, loving nature that makes her easy to adore. One of the cutest things about Coco is the way she walks—she has a little bunny-hop style that is guaranteed to make you smile.
Read more about Coco
Coco is happiest simply being near her people. She loves companionship, whether it’s from humans or other dogs, and is content to quietly follow you from room to room throughout the day. She enjoys cuddling, relaxing nearby, and keeping an eye on her favorite people. While she can be a little shy when first meeting new people, it doesn’t take long for her to realize she’s safe. Once she does, she becomes incredibly trusting and affectionate.
Coco gets along wonderfully with all dog-friendly dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion. However, she does not require another dog as long as her people are home frequently and able to provide the companionship she loves.
This sweet girl enjoys soft treats, cozy places to nap, and having a comfortable spot where she can watch for her people. Her favorite setup is her kennel with the door left open or a soft blanket-filled box near the doorway where she can keep an eye on everything while waiting for her family to return.
As part of her daily routine, coco receives eye drops in the vending and 1/2 tablet of Benadryl twice a day with a little canned food. She’s very cooperative and does well with this.
Coco isn’t looking for excitement or adventure—she’s looking for love. She would thrive in a home where she can be included in daily life, receive plenty of affection, and spend her days close to the people she loves most.
If you’re searching for a loyal little shadow with a heart of gold, Coco just might be the very best girl you’ve been waiting for.

34. Gandalf
Senior (10 years 5 months) · Male · Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie (medium coat)

Don’t let his cloudy eyes fool you—Gandalf sees the world with his heart, and it’s one of the sweetest hearts you’ll ever meet.
This darling Yorkie is completely blind in his left eye and has very limited vision in his right due to cataracts. While he’ll need a family willing to make a few thoughtful accommodations, caring for Gandalf is surprisingly easy. Once he learns his surroundings, he confidently navigates his world with patience, curiosity, and quiet determination.
Read more about Gandalf
Gandalf is adorable and the absolute easiest dog I have ever cared for. Since his dental and learning the layout of the house and backyard, he is absolutely THRIVING! It is so much fun to watch. He is loving and lovable.
It took him about two weeks to figure out the house and yard layout. Another week or two after that, he stopped peeing in the belly bands I had been keeping him in while he was in the house. He completely surprised his foster family by being housebroken! He just needed about three weeks to figure out how and where the door was.
Now, when he wants to go outside, he quietly stands by his foster families patio door and sometimes scratches at it.
He no longer sleeps in his crate. He loves sleeping in his foster families bed! He doesn’t hog the bed or steal the blankets. He just curls up and quietly falls asleep.
He is a good eater, too. I feed him in his crate because my dogs will absolutely steal his food. All of the dogs eat in their crates at this house, so he fits right in.
He is also a very good pooper—very reliably pooping when he goes outside in the morning.
And then there is his one great nemesis: THE VACUUM CLEANER.
Even though he can’t really see it, he dives right in and tries to bite it whenever it is turned on. Apparently, blindness is no obstacle when you have strong feelings about household appliances.
Watching this little guy figure everything out and become more confident and comfortable has been such a joy. He is really, truly thriving. ❤️
He’s also a curious little explorer. He loves wandering through the house in search of hidden treats, chewing on bones and small stuffed toys, stretching out for sunny naps, and investigating anything new at his own pace. He’s a wonderful eater, is doing great with pooping outside on a schedule, and continues to make progress with house training. He currently wears a belly band indoors while learning that peeing outside is just as rewarding. Because of his vision loss, rewarding him without eye contact takes a little extra patience, but he’s making steady progress.
Simple verbal cues help Gandalf feel safe and confident. His foster family says “touch” before petting him and “up” before picking him up so he always knows what’s coming. Those little routines quickly become second nature and help him trust his people even more.
Gandalf could happily live as an only dog if his family is home most of the time. Because of his blindness, he thrives on companionship and would likely become lonely if left alone for long periods. A calm, dog-friendly small dog would also be a wonderful companion, though it’s not a requirement. While he doesn’t spend much time playing with other dogs, he enjoys their presence and often uses them as a point of reference. He especially loves following his foster’s white dog outside, using her like a gentle guide as they wander the yard together before relaxing side by side in the sunshine.
Gandalf would be an excellent fit for a quieter household where someone is around often to share life’s simple moments. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t ask for much—just a little patience, a predictable routine, and someone to love.
His vision may be limited, but his capacity for love is anything but. Gandalf is proof that sometimes the dogs who see the least help us appreciate the most.

35. Gerald Frederick
Senior (8 years 5 months) · Male · Chihuahua (short coat)

Gerald Frederick is a sweet senior gentleman with a heart full of love and a strong desire to be close to his people. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, Gerald is your guy. He is the definition of a “velcro dog” and will happily follow his humans from room to room, always wanting to be part of whatever you’re doing.
Read more about Gerald Frederick
Despite his age, Gerald still has a surprising amount of energy and enjoys exploring, snuggling, and, of course, accepting treats whenever they’re offered. His favorite activities include curling up under a cozy blanket, relaxing in a hammock with his foster mom, and taking frequent naps to recharge. Gerald’s friendly personality shines wherever he goes, and he has a way of winning over everyone he meets, from veterinary staff to new friends.
Gerald gets along well with other dogs, cats, and even busy toddlers, usually choosing to quietly coexist and mind his own business. While he generally ignores other pets, he may offer a gentle warning growl if they invade his personal space.
As a senior boy, Gerald does have some special medical needs. He is in the early stages of heart failure and takes daily medication for both his heart and thyroid. He also needs regular potty breaks throughout the day. Gerald is still learning that the crate isn’t such a scary place, and crate training remains a work in progress. He can be vocal when crated, may have accidents if left too long, and would do best with a family where someone is home much of the time.
Gerald’s ideal home is one filled with love, companionship, soft blankets, and people who appreciate having a devoted shadow by their side. In return, he’ll offer endless affection, loyal companionship, and the sweetest senior-dog snuggles imaginable.

36. King
Senior (8 years 5 months) · Male · Chihuahua (medium coat)

King is a lovable, goofy boy with a heart as big as his personality. He may be sight-impaired, but don’t tell him that—he’s far too busy enjoying life, making friends, and perfecting the art of being a professional couch potato.
Because King has limited vision, it takes him a little time to learn new surroundings and settle into a routine. Once he gets his bearings, though, he navigates surprisingly well and quickly becomes comfortable. And when that happens, you’ll discover a sweet, affectionate dog who pretty much loves everybody.
Read more about King
King’s favorite activities include lounging on the couch with his people, exploring the fenced yard, enjoying treats, and eagerly anticipating mealtime. In fact, meal preparation is a full event in King’s world. His excitement is impossible to miss as he sploots on the floor, paddles his front legs, and lets out enthusiastic barks while waiting for his food to arrive.
One of King’s most charming quirks is his signature grumble. When being picked up, having his harness put on, or sometimes even when receiving belly rubs, he may growl and grumble dramatically. It sounds much more serious than it is—he has never attempted to bite and is simply expressing himself in his own goofy way. Once you know him, you’ll quickly learn that the funny noises are just part of the King experience.
King enjoys the company of other animals. He would love a playful dog companion closer to his own size, as he sometimes accidentally runs over very small dogs while navigating his surroundings. He also has a polite fascination with cats and seems convinced that someday they will agree to play with him. While he enjoys having animal friends, he does not require another pet in the home as long as his people are around much of the time.
Despite only having one tooth left, King remains an enthusiastic eater and is always happy to sample treats and fruit. He has shown some interest in toys and may discover new favorites as his confidence continues to grow.
Because of his limited vision, King can become nervous in overwhelming or chaotic environments. He also has some separation anxiety and prefers a home where someone is around much of the time. He can be vocal when excited, making him a poor fit for apartment living.
King is truly one of those dogs who leaves a lasting impression. His sight impairment, funny grumbles, happy spirit, and endless affection don’t make him difficult—they simply make him unique. Beneath all of his quirks is an incredibly sweet, lovable, playful boy who wants nothing more than a soft couch, a loving family, and a place to belong.
If you’re looking for a dog with personality, charm, and enough love to fill a house, King is ready to claim his throne in your heart.
