1. Bear Foster or adopter needed
Bear is almost 1yr old. Border collie/shepherd/lab mix. He gets along with other dogs, has been around chickens. Has not been around cats, but we think since he does ok with chickens he would be ok with cats. Knows basic commands. Needs some leash work. He is potty and crate trained. He is left to free roam alone in the house and does fine as long as garbage is put away. He is a said to be a sweet dog. We need a foster and/or adopter in order to take Bear into rescue!

2. Toby easy going lowrider
Watch Toby easy going lowrider's video
Toby is a basset/beagle mix. He is around 5yrs old. He had a rough start in life, coming from an abusive situation we were told. For this reason, he can be leery of men, will growl when first meeting them, but hasn't bitten anyone. He needs someone who understands his past and goes slow and doesn't push his limits/scare him. Would do best with older children if they are in home, so they too can understand his situation/past. He is settling into his foster home and got neutered and vetted. So far he has shown to love car rides, likes to let his long ears and jowls flap in the wind (: He has meet and played with other foster dogs, males/females that are medium to large in size and has been playful and respectful of them. He also meet some foster kittens and didn't know what to think of their craziness. When they hissed at him, he did howl at them and scare them, but he seems like he would get along just fine with cats once he learns some boundaries with them. He does pull on a leash, do best with harness, his hound nose leads the way. He loves, loves, loves treats! He has been doing well with male in the home, taking treats and getting butt scratches from his foster mom's husband. He really has been a great dog per his foster mom and when everyone met him at vet clinic they were just swooning over him and his cuteness!!!

6. Blair sweetest, calm hound
Watch Blair sweetest, calm hound's videos (2)
Blair is a 6yr old female hound. We were told she is a purebred bluetick. She has lived with the same family since she was a puppy, but at no fault of her own, she is coming into rescue. Does well with all adults and children! Ignores cats. She is a very sweet dog. Enjoys being outside, but also loves cuddling and napping. She has never hunted. She has some of the longest ears we have ever seen! So velvety soft, how can you resist!!! She is very calm for being a hound. You can tell her "I love youuuuuuuuuuuu" and she will respond with a low, pitched howl back telling you she loves you too, so adorable!! Her foster mom has nothing but good to say about her!!!! She was a star when she visited resident's at the local nursing home for Halloween dressed as a big spider!

7. Rudy
Rudy arrived to MN... ON A PLANE!! He was such a good boy on the flight and seemed to love to be up in the air. Rudy was found running as a stray in Ohio and was brought into an animal control facility, where he was at risk of euthanasia. We can tell he was fending for himself for a long time due to his extreme weight loss/body condition. We are guessing he is between 3 and 5yrs old. So far he has been a sweet boy, loving attention from his foster mom. Rudy is energetic and likes sniffing and being outside in the fenced in yard, but yet likes to be by you and know what you are doing. He is crated in the home when left alone. Working on potty training, as he appears to have been a dog that had been kept outdoors only, which unfortunately most hounds are. He does fine when strangers come by, seems to like all humans. He has been doing good with the other foster dogs, he has reacted back to a more dominant male, but he just got neutered and we are hoping this helps with that.

8. Bella Help I need a foster home
Watch Bella Help I need a foster home's videos (3)
Bella is approximately eight years old (maybe younger) and is likely a Labrador mix. She listens well, does amazing with a two year old son, (in the advocates home) and she is good with dogs. She does seem to leave cats alone. Bella is crate trained. If you can see the video it does look like Bella loves to play!
Bella lived her whole life outside in a kennel and a family friend would throw bags of dog food over and left them for her every couple weeks. The lady abandoned her with an elderly lady who couldn’t walk out to the kennel she was kept in. She is the sweetest thing ever, despite being neglected.

10. Meri
Meri is a very sweet pup! She is one of three sweet sisters, who were living outside with their Mom in rural Kentucky. A kind advocate took them in, until they could find rescue here.
Their breed mix is a total guess. They look similar to Mountain Cur/Hound/lab or terrier mix? They really could be Heinz 57 though too! We are just guessing. At about 6 months old Meri is about 35 lbs.

12. Zeara
We are totally guessing on the breed mixes and can be wrong! :)
Read more about Zeara
Zeara is the sweetest of girls! Like her life buddy, Cooper, she would be in the top 10 of the best dogs we have ever had come through. She and her good friend, "Cooper" came to us from a pound in Kentucky. They were surrendered to a pound/shelter after their owner could no longer care for them. They are a bonded pair, Zeara is about 7 years old and about 50 lbs. Great with other dogs. Great with cats. Great with kids. Cooper and Zeara would make the best family dog, would be so good with kids! Zeara is like all love. Seriously. She does not have a mean bone in her body, she only wants the best for you! She likes to be close, likes to sleep in the bed with you! She is so well mannered and kind. A compact little girl, zippy and responsive. Call this girl's name and she's "right there." Both Zeara and Cooper have excellent recall.

Cooper is the sweetest boy! Like in the top 10 dogs we have ever had come through sweetness. Cooper and his good friend, "Zeara" came to us from a pound in Kentucky. They were surrendered to a pound/shelter after their owner could no longer care for them. They are a bonded pair, Cooper is about 5-6 years old and about 60 lbs. Great with other dogs. Great with cats, would be an excellent family dog with kids! He is just so sweet! Seemingly no aggressive instincts, avoids trouble with other dogs, just wants to love, and loves to be near you! Cooper and Zeara are the definition of love. If you adopt these two, I can guarantee your life will change!

14. Cooper
Cooper
is an approximately 18 months old, 31 lbs and is 10
0% beagle (he has had a dna test done in the past).
He loves to snuggle, sniff all the things in the backyard yard or while on walks (nose work is more necessary that long/high speed walks for beagles), watch the neighborhood from his perch on the back of a couch or on a bed near a window, chew his bone and play with other dogs. He runs a little nervous or anxious so will be a bit standoffish at first.
Read more about Cooper
He only goes potty outside (he is a bit of a private pooper so doesn’t often poop on walks or when people are watching) and sleeps in his crate while his foster his out. He loves to be with people so doesn’t appreciate being in the crate if people are home.
He marks all the things on walks but has never marked in the house—just that first visit when he smelled where another dog had previously marked and never again.
He gets along great with other dogs.
He can be stubborn, particularly if chasing a bunny or squirrel scent but most often comes inside from our fenced yard when called (he gets a treat). He isn’t overly food motivated often waiting hours after the food goes into his bowl to eat.
At just 31 lbs he is lean (important for beagles due to the risk of back issues) and easy to handle on a leash even if he does try to pull toward a squirrel.
He has lived with cats and done fine.
He can be nervous around children so he needs to go to an adult only home.

15. Dee Dee
Dee Dee is a very sweet, 3 year old, 20 lb, Havanese possibly with Cavaliar King Charles mix in her (this is what we were told)-we don't necessarily see it, but who knows!
She is a very sweet girl, good with dogs, cats and people of all ages. Dee Dee wants to love and be loved. She loves being with people and she transfers her love and devotion very easily! She wants to spread the love, the more the merrier! So in this sense she would make an awesome family dog!
Read more about Dee Dee
Even though she is only 20 lbs, she has a rugged quality to her and loves to go for walks or trips to the dog park. Dee likes to go along with whatever the family is doing, kind of thing!
She can be a bit assertive to other dogs when on a leash, (even though she really is good with dogs, on a leash she can be barky and assertive), so we are working on that and adopter should continue to work with that.
Dee Dee is fostered with another male dog and is his playmate! She really seeks out a playmate!
Dee Dee has been fostered with bigger female dogs and did fine and a cat. She can live with a cat, but sometimes wants the cat to play and can be pouncy at times, so if your cat doesn't want to be bothered too much, you may want to consider that.
Dee would be good with children, again she would make a great family dog.
Dee Dee loves to sleep in the bed with you (at least in the beginning of the night) so we are seeking someone who is fine with that.

18. DottieLooking for an active, adventurous adopter
Watch DottieLooking for an active, adventurous adopter's video
Dottie is a medium sized, 2yr old treeing walker hound mix. Dottie would be happiest if she got adopted by someone who is adventurous and active. She loves to be outside and run and sniff. She shows signs of being used for hunting in her past, as her treeing walker instincts are truly showing by baying by the trees in the yard. She'd love going for walks on trails or hiking. She'd be a great reason for you to get outside and stay active all year round.
Read more about DottieLooking for an active, adventurous adopter
She has the typical goofy, fun-loving hound attitude. Can be calm and relaxed and at other times lets out her hound voice! She is a dominant dog, and will show other dogs she is boss. As long as the other dog is more submissive she does just fine. She has been out in fence playing with pack of other foster dogs, again has done fine after she shows them she is the boss lady. Has been attentive and can be easily redirected. Comes when called, but at times her hound nose keeps her distracted. Dottie is a typical 2yr old dog, needing moderate to high levels of exercise. She was found as a stray and saved when skin-and-bones. She knows basic commands. She even gives big hugs! And she loves to get tummy scratches and show you all her dots!!

19. Naomi
Naomi is a very sweet pup!
At about 6 months old Naomi is about 35 lbs.

20. Cookie Help I need a foster home
Cookie is a sweet female, mixed breed dog, possibly around 60 lbs. (We would know more details if we can secure a foster, as then the advocates can get her to a vet).
She was living outside in rural Kentucky, continuously getting pregnant and having puppies. She has 3 young pups now but they are getting to the age where they can be separated and go to foster homes of their own.
We are looking for a foster for Cookie. Perhaps a foster to adopt, or just a foster is fine! She would also be available for adoption. We are told how sweet she is, hence her name, "Cookie." Good with dogs, cats, kids.

Once we secure a foster home, she can be transported to MN.
If you would like to learn more about Cookie, or could foster her, please submit a foster form or an interest form on our website:

21. Bert
Come meet Bert!!
Read more about Bert
I’ve been waiting for my person or people that I can snuggle with, sleep with, and give kisses to. I am an affectionate and loyal miniature watchdog to my owners. My favorite activities are getting belly rubs, sitting on a lap, snuggling in a bed, or on a couch. I really love chasing squirrels, rabbits, and birds. I am a terrier and a chihuahua mix. I am true to my terrier breed. Terriers were originally bred to drive away small critters from farms and gardens and were used for hunting. I have a strong prey drive. I enjoy riding along in vehicles. When my foster mom is driving, my favorite spot to sit is between the two front seats so that I can look out the window and enjoy the scenery. I love getting attention. I also really enjoy daily walks of any length. I don’t wear out very easily.
I am terrified of thunderstorms and weary of strangers. I take a little bit to warm up with people that I don’t know. I prefer a quiet environment, and I would do my best in a home with no small children.
I lived with my brother. I lived with a cat. I enjoy chasing fast cats. I will do my best around more assertive/aggressive cats.
If you are interested in meeting Bert, please let us know!
