Lyra

Meet Lyra!

While we initially thought this special girl may have been born deaf, her foster family has recently discovered that she can actually hear quite well! Lyra is doing wonderfully in her foster home and is proving to be a smart, happy, and adventurous puppy.

Lyra has already learned signs for no, sit, good, and potty, and has perfected her house and crate-training!

She’s playful and energetic, loves romping with her canine pals, and does well with kids. While she has plenty of puppy energy right now, her foster family can already see her settling into a calmer routine as she gets older. She

is a Lab mix (best guess) and is expected to be around 40–45 pounds when fully grown. She’s ready to find a family who will continue her positive training and appreciate what a special little girl she is.

Lyra is up to date on puppy vaccines. She will need to be spayed and microchipped at around 6 months old at our vet in Holmdel, NJ. Her adoption donation is $600.

Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.
