MEET SADIE #16!!

Read more about Sadie

Sadie is an almost 9-year-old pittie mix with a sweet, gentle personality and a love for the good life—especially lounging on the couch and spending time close to her people. She is affectionate, playful, intelligent, obedient, and eager to please, with a goofy side that is sure to bring plenty of smiles. Sadie does well in the car, is leash trained, and enjoys being a lap pet despite her size. She can be timid or shy at times and has a protective, territorial nature, but she is good with adults and warms up to people with patience and kindness. Sadie would do best as the only pet in the home, as she does not get along with cats or other dogs. Her experience with children is unknown, so a home without young children or with careful introductions may be best. This lovable girl is ready to trade her couch for a forever home where she can relax, be herself, and enjoy plenty of love and attention. Complete an application and meet Sadie.

MEET LUKE #3!!!

Luke is incredible with humans and loves attention. He is an excellent sleep buddy and cuddles right next to you all night, as well as, a major couch potato. Despite his age, he does have short bursts of energy and would appreciate some moderate exercise in the form of short walks and runs, possibly short hikes. MEET ROBIN!!

Read more about Robin

Robin is an 8-year-old Golden Retriever/Labrador mix with a heart as golden as his coat. Loved by the same family since he was just 3 months old, Robin is a loyal, affectionate companion who thrives on being part of the family. He is leash trained, rides wonderfully in the car, loves to play fetch, and never says no to a toy—especially a squeaky one, though his ultimate goal is to eventually de-squeak every single one! Calm and easygoing around the house, Robin is content to relax with his people but also enjoys a good daily run to stretch his legs and burn off energy. He adores long hugs, loves being included in family activities, and has the sweetest nighttime routine—he insists on being tucked into bed with his blanket before settling in for the night. MEET NALA #13!!

Read more about Nala

Nala is a sweet, affectionate, and intelligent dog who loves her people and enjoys being part of the family. She is leash trained, rides well in the car, and has a playful side that comes out when she's spending time with those she trusts. Nala is obedient, eager to please, and naturally protective of her home, while also being gentle and loving with both adults and children. Because she has a very strong prey drive, she needs a home without cats or other small animals, and she is not a good match for homes with small dogs. She can be cautious and reactive when meeting unfamiliar dogs, but with slow, controlled introductions and experienced handling, she has successfully learned to coexist with some dogs her size or larger. Nala will do best with a securely fenced yard and an owner who understands the importance of proper management and continued structure. In the right home where her needs are understood, Nala is a loyal, devoted companion who will reward her family with endless love, companionship, and a playful spirit. She enjoys digging, especially to create cool places to relax during warmer weather. She can sometimes gently jump up when excited, and while she loves being close to people, she’s more of a curious face-sniffer than a big kisser. MEET TIGER #3!!

Read more about Tiger

Meet Tiger, a 10-year-old brindle Staffordshire Terrier–Dachshund mix with short legs, a sturdy build, and a huge personality packed into one compact body. Tiger is crate trained, playful, goofy, affectionate, and absolutely convinced that lap dogs come in every size. His favorite thing in the world is being close to his people, whether that means curling up beside you on the couch or soaking up every bit of attention he can get. Tiger loves adults and bonds quickly with anyone willing to shower him with affection, making him a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal best friend. He does have an independent streak and a talent for trying to sneak out if given the opportunity, so a secure home and watchful owner are a must. Adopting a senior dog in Tempe

Older dogs are usually calm, affectionate and happy with shorter walks, which makes them a good match for older adults and first-time dog owners.

Ask the rescue about the dog's health and vet history. Many rescues charge less to adopt a senior dog.

Many small dogs live to 15 or older, so a senior dog can still be part of your family for years.
