MEET DUDLEY #2!!
Read more about Dudley
Dudley is a sweet, affectionate, and very playful boy with a lot of personality and energy. He loves attention, playing with his toys, being outside, going for walks, and especially playing with other dogs. He really loves having someone to play with. He can be pretty enthusiastic during playtime, so another playful dog who can match his energy would be a great match. He is good with adults and elementary aged children on a leash, but he has not been testing with children in a home. He is housetrained, uses a doggy door, and knows basic commands. He does fairly well on a leash, but he still pulls at times, especially when he's excited about going for a walk. He is a typical young Husky who is curious, energetic, and always looking for something to do.
Dudley has some separation anxiety, particularly when he is left alone crated. This is improving, and he has a prescription for trazodone to help when he needs to be crated for extended periods of time. He also has enamel hypoplasia which affects the enamel on his teeth. He received a dental treatment, including bonding, in August 2026. Dudley's current owner is unable to give him the exercise and attention he needs and is heartbroken to have to find him a new home. Dudley would thrive in a home with a fenced yard, plenty of exercise, attention, and companionship. A bonus would be a similarly energetic pet sibling too. Meet Dudley today!

4. Buck
Puppy (6 months) · Male · German Shepherd Dog / Spaniel / Mixed (medium coat) · 10 mi from Gilbert

MEET BUCK!!!
Read more about Buck
Buck is a handsome puppy that is always full of energy as most puppies are. He is always excited to see you or meet new dogs. He loves to go on walks and runs which is a great way to tire him out. If you looked up the word "love" in the dictionary. you would see a picture of Buck. Buck is very much a puppy still and needs training. However, with some patience and consistent training, he will be the best boy ever. He is good on a leash so far and doing well with crate training. Sometimes he will bark loudly when he doesn't want to be in the crate, but that only lasts a few minutes before he settles in. Buck was found as a stray in poor condition. He deserves a loving and safe home with people who want to give him the best life he deserves. Meet Buck today!

6. Flaco
Adult (2 years) · Male · Belgian Shepherd Malinois (medium coat) · 9 mi from Gilbert

Hi, I’m Flaco, and I’m looking for my forever home... again.
My name is Flaco, and I’m a handsome, approximately 2-year-old Belgian Malinois mix with a heart that’s every bit as big as my ears. Life hasn’t always gone exactly as planned for me, but I’m hoping my next chapter will be the one that lasts forever.
Read more about Flaco
Just over a year ago, my brother and I were found wandering the streets of Yuma as strays. Nobody came looking for us, and we weren’t sure what the future would hold. Thankfully, we were rescued by the wonderful people at Central Arizona Animal Rescue. They gave us safety, food, love, and a chance to find families of our own. Before long, both my brother and I were adopted, and it seemed like our happy ending had arrived.
Recently, though, I found myself back at the rescue.
My family welcomed a new baby, and as their lives became busier, they decided they no longer had enough time for me. While it was hard to lose my home, everyone at the rescue has reminded me that this isn't the end of my story. It’s simply a detour on the road to finding the family that’s truly meant for me.
If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I absolutely love people. Whether we're going for a walk, hanging out in the yard, watching television, or just relaxing together, I’m happiest when I’m near my humans. I’m not looking for anything extravagant. Honestly, I just want to be part of your life.
I also enjoy the company of other dogs. I get along well with little dogs and dogs my own size, and I love having canine friends to spend time with. If your home already has a dog looking for a buddy, there’s a good chance we could become best friends. As for cats, my rescue friends just haven’t had the opportunity to test me with them yet, so that remains a mystery.
I’m told I’m house-trained, which means I understand that outside is the place to take care of business. I also know some commands and have already learned some good manners. Like many young dogs, I would love continued training and guidance. The good news is that I’m smart and eager to learn.
Speaking of smart, let’s talk a little about my breed. Belgian Malinois are known for their intelligence, loyalty, athleticism, and strong bonds with their people. We are often chosen for police work, search-and-rescue, service work, and other demanding jobs because we love having a purpose and enjoy learning new things. While I certainly have that classic Malinois intelligence, I’m also an incredibly sweet and social guy who simply enjoys being around people and canine companions. I would thrive with an active family that can include me in daily adventures, give me exercise, and continue helping me be the very best dog I can be.
What I’m really searching for is someone who won’t see me as a temporary part of their life. I want a family that understands dogs are forever. A family that will celebrate the good times, help me through the challenges, and let me spend every day knowing I belong.
I’ve already been through being lost once. I’ve already experienced coming back to rescue through no fault of my own. Now I’m ready for the happy ending I’ve been dreaming about.
Could that happy ending be with you?
If you’re looking for a loyal companion, a smart and affectionate best friend, and a dog who is ready to shower you with love and gratitude, I’d love to meet you.
To schedule an appointment to meet me, please email Central Arizona Animal Rescue at mike@caaronline.org.
I’ll be waiting with a wagging tail, hopeful eyes, and my heart wide open for the family that finally says, “Flaco, you’re home.” ❤️
PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.

Meet Charolette! We just rescued this pretty little girl from the euthanasia list at Maricopa County Animal Care & Control. She was very scared in the shelter and needed out immediately. 12. Gino
Adult · Male · Rottweiler · 1 mi from Gilbert

Meet Gino!Gino is a big, goofy boy weighing in at 112 pounds! He wants nothing more than to nuzzle his face into your lap to receive all the pets and love you can give. His temperament is sweet and docile, and he is a smart boy with just a fun dash of classic Rottie stubbornness. We rescued Gino off the county shelter's euthanasia list on 10/20/26. He was placed on the list because when he became overstimulated from excitement or petting, he would mount his handler. Knowing what a sweet soul he is, we were so excited when a proffessional trainer offered to foster and train him! She is working with Gino to curb this behavior and help him become the absolute best version of himself.

20. Zeke
Young · Male · Rottweiler · 1 mi from Gilbert

Meet Zeke! Our Newest Rotten Rottie!Zeke is an absolutely stunning young male Rottweiler. He was found as a stray and brought to Maricopa County Animal Care & Control, where he ultimately ended up on the euthanasia list. While at the shelter, he was friendly with staff and caused no issues. Even the veterinary team was able to handle him easily. If you’ve ever owned a Rottweiler, you know the vet can be a challenging environment for them. The reason he was placed on the euthanasia list was due to dog reactivity reported in the shelter lobby, as well as his finder mentioning that he reacted to other people and dogs while on leash.
Read more about Zeke
This type of behavior is common to the breed and in high-stress shelter environments. With consistency and proper training, it can be managed or overcome. When I met Zeke, I didn't see any reactivity at all. I took him out of his kennel, walked him into a play yard, and navigated past other dogs. He even sat calmly outside his kennel while we readjusted his leash with other dogs barking just a few feet away, and he didn't react. He stayed focused on me and sat patiently. However, just because I didn't witness reactivity during our initial meeting doesn't mean it never occurs. Once we get to know Zeke better and observe him across different settings, we’ll have a clearer picture of what support and environment he needs to succeed.Regardless of why he was on the euthanasia list, after meeting Zeke and seeing what a wonderful dog he is, we knew we had to save him. We don't know his exact age, but he appears to be between 1 and 2 years old. So far what we have seen from Zeke is a smart, even-tempered, affectionate, and gentle boy.As we spend more time learning his personality, likes, and dislikes, we will update his profile. At this time, we do not know how he does with other dogs, small animals, or children, but we will try to test him in as many different environments as is safe and appropriate. In addition, Zeke will be heading to training with Amanda at Paw Creek Training next week! Amanda will determine how he does with other dogs, correct any behavioral concerns she finds, and teach him all his basic obedience. We can't wait to watch Zeke become the best version of himself! We truly believe Zeke is going to make an amazing companion, and we look forward to helping him build the life he has always deserved! If you are interested in meeting Zeke or any of our adoptable dogs, please visit our website at http://www.rottenrottie.com and complete our adoption questionnaire.Adoption Process:If you are interested in adopting one of our fun-loving, "not-so-rotten" Rotties, you will be asked to fill out our adoption application which allows us to get to know you better. These beautiful sisters were part of a group of three puppies, but one of their sisters was given away. Dolly and Mira had an owner from the time they were puppies, yet they didn't receive the attention, time, socialization, and training they needed to grow into confident, secure dogs.

Born in September 2025, these little girls are still so young. They should be experiencing the world with confidence, learning new things, playing, and feeling safe in the arms of the people who love them. Instead, they're now learning that the world doesn't have to be so scary.
Dolly and Mira are in a new foster home, and right now, they're frightened and unsure of their surroundings. But slowly, little by little, they're beginning to relax. They're starting to realize that life can be different — that gentle hands, kind voices, patience, and love are possible. ❤️
They're learning the basics, including potty training and adjusting to crate training. They still have a lot to learn, and they'll need a family who understands that progress may take time. There may be setbacks, nervous moments, and days when they need extra reassurance.
But please don't overlook them because they're scared.
These girls aren't broken. They aren't bad dogs. They're simply learning things that should have been taught to them from the beginning. They need someone willing to see their potential rather than their fears.
Meet Dolly & Mira

Chiweenies (Dachshund/Chihuahua mixes)
Learning potty training and crate training
Looking for a patient, loving family committed to helping them build confidence
We would love for these sisters to find a home together, if possible. After losing the third member of their little trio and going through so many changes, there is something special about the comfort they may find in one another. Separate homes may also be considered if the right families come along.
Dolly and Mira don't need someone to make them perfect overnight. They need someone who will celebrate the little victories — the first time they approach without fear, the first time they settle comfortably in their crate, and the first time they truly believe they're home.
Please be the person who shows them that they were always worth the time, the effort, and the love. ❤️

Approved applicants can arrange a meet-and-greet, followed by a home check.

DOLLY & MIRA — TWO LITTLE HEARTS WAITING TO FEEL SAFE
Some dogs know what it feels like to have a home, but they’ve never truly experienced what it means to be loved. Dolly and Mira are two of those little souls.
These beautiful sisters were part of a group of three puppies, but one of their sisters was given away. Dolly and Mira had an owner from the time they were puppies, yet they didn't receive the attention, time, socialization, and training they needed to grow into confident, secure dogs.

Adult (2 years 11 months) · Female · Pit Bull Terrier (short coat) · 9 mi from Gilbert

MEET PINTA — THE SWEET GIRL WHO DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE!
Pinta’s story didn’t start the way any dog deserves. This sweet girl was abandoned at a trailer park, left behind through no fault of her own. Now, she’s hoping someone will finally choose her and give her the forever home she deserves!
Read more about Pinta
At just 3 years old, Pinta has so much love left to give! She’s a super sweet girl who gets along with both other dogs and cats, making her a wonderful potential addition to a home with furry family members. She is crate trained, leashed trained and overall sweet. Being new into rescue, she does get nervous when other dogs come near her food bowl. Monitoring required during feeding until she is settled and realizes she is not going to skip a meal.
Pinta didn’t ask to be abandoned, but she’s still waiting for someone to show her what it means to be loved unconditionally. She deserves a cozy bed, a family to call her own, and a lifetime of never having to wonder if she’ll be left behind again. ❤️
Can you be Pinta’s happy ending? She’s ready to trade her uncertain past for a future filled with love!
Ready to meet Pinta? Submit an adoption application at https://backthebluepetrescue.org/

28. Ozzy
Puppy (5 months 19 days) · Male · American Bulldog / American Staffordshire Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 21 mi from Gilbert

Meet Ozzy, the lovable American Bulldog mix!
Personality: Ozzy is a fun-loving, affectionate puppy with a big personality. He’s eager to please and a total cuddle bug who will happily curl up in your lap after a day of adventures. Like any young pup, he’s full of energy and curiosity, and he loves long walks and playing with a variety of toys.
Health: Ozzy is 5-6 months old and weighs 28 lbs. He is expected to grow into a large adult dog, potentially reaching 65+ lbs. Ozzy is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped.
Read more about Ozzy
Training: Ozzy is off to a great start and already showing how smart and eager to learn he is. He is housebroken with a dog door, settles well in his crate, and sleeps soundly through the night. Ozzy already knows "sit" and "down", is working on "come" and "leave it", walks nicely on a leash, and is very food motivated, making him a fun dog to train. Like any puppy, Ozzy is still learning manners. He is currently teething and can be mouthy during play. He is also very enthusiastic around other dogs and is still learning appropriate play and social skills.
Ideal Home: Ozzy is looking for a committed family that understands the joys and challenges of raising a large breed puppy. Ozzy would love an active family who will take him on adventures. He will thrive with training, exercise, socialization, and structure as he grows. Because Ozzy is still working through puppy behaviors, he would do best in an adult-only home or a home with dog-savvy teens or tweens.
Adoption Requirements: Ozzy's adoption fee is $400. If you have a securely fenced yard, and are ready for all things puppy, please complete an adoption application*: https://helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application/
*Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.

How to adopt from Rotten Rottie Rescue
Our Adoption Process... If you are interested in adopting one of our fun loving not so rotten rotties, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire that will allows us to get to know you better and to make sure the dog you are looking at is a good fit for your family and lifestyle. You can access our questionnaire by going to our website, www.rottenrottie.com click on the forms tab, and fill out the questionnaire and submit it online. After we review your answers, if we feel that the dog that you are interested in, is not a good fit for you and your family, we may recommend a different rottweiler companion. After we determine which Rottweiler(s) is the best for you, we will set up a time so that you can meet him or her at their house, where they will feel most comfortable and act as they normally do. An adoption contract will be signed to finalize the adoption and we do ask for a rehoming fee of $400 for most adults, $250 for most of our seniors 6 years and above for any rottweiler mix of any age (except puppies) . Our fees for puppies fluctuate depending on how much we had to invest into them or their litter, and weather they are purebred or a mix. These funds are necessary so that our organization may continue to rehome rottweilers. ALL of our dogs are sterilized, fully vaccinated and microchipped, heartworm tested negative and come with a collar and a leash. We have also addressed any injury or illness that they had when they came to us, or received in foster care. These

How to adopt from Arizona Boston Terrier Rescue
Everyone wishing to adopt through our rescue must complete an application, downloadable from our web site. The application requests information about your situation, what sort of dog you wish to adopt, including age and behavior. We welcome applications from potential adopters who are able to love a dog with special physical or behavioral needs. No one is asked to adopt a dog with issues they cannot handle. While we usually experience a steady flow of incoming Boston Terriers needing to be re-homed, we also have a steady flow of people and families seeking to adopt a Boston Terrier through AZBTR. We file applications, more or less, in order of receipt. As we anticipate new dogs coming into our rescue, we attempt to fulfill those applications. This is not always the case, however. Our goal is to match our dogs to the best suited homes based on the individual dog's needs. If acquiring a dog is a time sensitive issue for you or your family, rescue may not be for you. If you are willing to wait for the right rescue to come to you, you are an ideal candidate for AZBTR. It could be days, weeks, or months before we find a Boston Terrier that we feel is a good match for you. As our success rate proves, these precious dogs are well worth the wait. We carefully screen potential adoptive families, including interviewing adopters, checking references, and visiting homes. We prefer that adoptive homes have fenced yards because we do not place dogs in situations where they will b
Adopting a dog in Gilbert
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
