3. Ozzy
Puppy (5 months 19 days) · Male · American Bulldog / American Staffordshire Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Ozzy, the lovable American Bulldog mix!
Personality: Ozzy is a fun-loving, affectionate puppy with a big personality. He’s eager to please and a total cuddle bug who will happily curl up in your lap after a day of adventures. Like any young pup, he’s full of energy and curiosity, and he loves long walks and playing with a variety of toys.
Health: Ozzy is 5-6 months old and weighs 28 lbs. He is expected to grow into a large adult dog, potentially reaching 65+ lbs. Ozzy is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped.
Read more about Ozzy
Training: Ozzy is off to a great start and already showing how smart and eager to learn he is. He is housebroken with a dog door, settles well in his crate, and sleeps soundly through the night. Ozzy already knows "sit" and "down", is working on "come" and "leave it", walks nicely on a leash, and is very food motivated, making him a fun dog to train. Like any puppy, Ozzy is still learning manners. He is currently teething and can be mouthy during play. He is also very enthusiastic around other dogs and is still learning appropriate play and social skills.
Ideal Home: Ozzy is looking for a committed family that understands the joys and challenges of raising a large breed puppy. Ozzy would love an active family who will take him on adventures. He will thrive with training, exercise, socialization, and structure as he grows. Because Ozzy is still working through puppy behaviors, he would do best in an adult-only home or a home with dog-savvy teens or tweens.
Adoption Requirements: Ozzy's adoption fee is $400. If you have a securely fenced yard, and are ready for all things puppy, please complete an adoption application*: https://helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application/

4. Lexi-Wheaten
Adult (9 years 6 months) · Female · Wheaten Terrier (medium coat)

Meet sweet miss Lexi! She is a 9.5-year-old, 30-pound Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier mix and a complete angel.
Lexi came to us after having two very loving, devoted homes, but due to her former owner's serious medical issues, she has landed safely in our care. This sweet girl goes with the flow—as long as someone is ready to give her love, she is all for it!
Personality & Home Life:
Read more about Lexi-Wheaten
- Activity Level: Lightly active and adapts nicely to the energy of the home. She loves walkies, playing fetch, running poolside acting like a "lifeguard" (though she isn't much of a swimmer), and hanging out with other dogs. Once she warms up to new people, she loves family bonding time and snuggling in bed.
- Compatibility: Great with other dogs and cats (kid compatibility is unknown). She would thrive with a dog sibling, as she recently lost her longtime companion, Boo.
- Routine & Habits: Potty pad and outdoor trained, kennels well if needed, and does great left alone in the house. She is good in the car and is a social eater who prefers to eat when others do.
Health & Care:
Lexi is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. She has very few teeth left, so dental maintenance is minimal, and she eats both dry and soft food without an issue.
Adoption Requirements:
Lexi experiences some mild separation anxiety and needs an understanding owner who will give her time to adjust after recent life changes, helping her build coping skills with patience.
Lexi's adoption fee is $350, which directly helps our rescue cover medical expenses. Thank you for choosing to save a life by considering Lexi!
If you are looking for the perfect companion and have the love in your heart to help a little dog in need, please complete our online application at
helpadogsmile.org.
Her foster family will then reach out to you.

5. Rowan
Puppy (3 months 11 days) · Male · Labrador Retriever / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (short coat)

Background: Rowan and his siblings came to rescue with their mom, Beans, from an overcrowded off-grid home in the desert. Their owner loved them deeply and reached out for help so each puppy could have the opportunity to find a wonderful forever family. Rowan has been loved and handled since birth and is growing up as a happy, well-socialized puppy.
Read more about Rowan
Personality: Rowan is the biggest snuggler of the bunch! While he enjoys puppy wrestling matches, chasing games, and carrying around his favorite toys, his favorite place is curled up next to his people. He's confident, affectionate, and always ready for both playtime and cuddle time. As the largest puppy in the litter, Rowan was also the first to embrace his "big boy" food.
Health: Rowan's estimated DOB is 7/22/26. Based on his current size, we expect him to mature to around 30 pounds. He is up-to-date on his puppy vaccines.
Training: As a young puppy, Rowan is still learning all the basics of being a great canine companion. He's currently using potty pads and is beginning to explore the dog door in his foster home. Like all puppies, he'll need continued work on house training, leash skills, socialization, and basic manners. Rowan is a smart, confident boy who will thrive with a family committed to providing the structure, consistency, and patience every puppy needs to grow into a wonderful adult dog.
Ideal Home: Rowan would love a home with a female dog who is a few years older than him. He will thrive with a family looking for an affectionate companion who enjoys both outdoor adventures and downtime. He requires a household that can provide plenty of playtime, socialization, and snuggles. As with any puppy, Rowan needs a family that understands the time, training, supervision, and socialization required during his first year.
Adoption Requirements: We are currently accepting applications for foster-to-adopt! Terms of a foster-to-adopt agreement include taking them for their remaining shots and spay/neuter surgery at PAWS - The Modern Spay Neuter Clinic (Cave Creek & 101).
• Week of 10/26: distemper/parvo booster, rabies, microchip, spay/neuter surgery
This appointment is fully covered by the rescue. Ownership transfers to the adopter immediately following the final appointment.
The adoption fee of $400 helps offset the cost of medical expenses. If you live in the Phoenix metro area, have a securely fenced yard, and are ready for all things puppy, please complete an adoption application*: https://helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application/
*Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.
