1. Fendi

Adult · Female · Pomeranian / Chihuahua / Mixed (medium coat) · 47 mi from Vista Santa Rosa

Looking for your biggest fan? You'll always feel like the most important person in the world with little Fendi! She is a firecracker that loves attention and has no concept of personal space. She will be a constant fixture in your lap while you're relaxing and glued to your side everywhere you go. But, who wouldn't want to spend their time cuddling and getting kisses from such a cute girl?

While Fendi absolutely adores her person, she wants all your affection to herself. Fendi is a little diva who prefers to be your one and only dog.

Although she will spend most of her time snuggling, Fendi enjoys food, toys, bubbles and going for car rides. She would prefer to spend her day with you, but she does fine alone and is even crate trained.

2. Rocky

Adult · Male · Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed (long coat) · 47 mi from Vista Santa Rosa

If you're looking for an easy pup, Rocky is your guy! Overall, he is quiet and mellow, happy to spend his days relaxing and cuddling with his person. However, he can be playful and active if you're feeling up for some fun. He loves being outside and has become very interested in chasing lizards or squirrels.

Read more about Rocky

Rocky gets along with every person he has met, but he isn't running up to everyone to make friends. He is mostly uninterested in new people and needs a little time to truly bond and open up. Because he can be shy, we think a home with young kids may be too much for him. He also would do best without hyper/dominant dogs. He gets along with our pups, but Rocky is submissive and he has been picked on in the past by bossy dogs so we want to make sure he can feel confident and secure in his next home.

Although it may seem like he doesn't care at first, once Rocky is in the right environment where he can feel comfortable, he is a sweet, cuddly boy and he even enjoys playing with a few of our other dogs.

Rocky is a 15 lb, 5 year old Yorkie mix (likely with Poodle or Schnauzer) and has very soft, fine hair that will need regular grooming. Our groomer said he behaved very well during his hair cut!

Rocky is already neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped so he can move in right away!

3. Keira

Adult · Female · Labrador Retriever / Husky / Mixed (short coat) · 47 mi from Vista Santa Rosa

Keira is a 2 year old, Husky/Labrador Retriever mix. She is looking for a fun, active home! She is always up to play with her pals, chew her toys, or go for a hike!

Keira gets along with all dogs and needs a doggy brother or sister to wrestle with in her next home.

Keira is friendly with all people, but she is pretty independent and not a cuddler. What she lacks in affection, she makes up for in goofiness. She tries to play with people but she doesn't know how so she ends up playing tag with you.

Read more about Keira

Keira is approx 45lbs. She is a good girl on leash and in the car. She is also housebroken and crate trained. She does have a strong prey drive and likes to chase lizards or any small creatures she can find so a home without cats is a must.

4. Molly

Senior · Female · German Shepherd Dog (short coat) · 47 mi from Vista Santa Rosa

Molly is a purebred, 12 year old German Shepherd! She loves to play fetch and always carries her ball with her. Molly is active for her age, but is also a loyal, well-behaved house guest. She will just lay by your feet when it is time to relax and, when you need to leave her at home, she will patiently wait by the door until you get back!

Molly is friendly and gets along well with people. She doesn't bark, knows basic commands, does well in a car, and she is crate trained as well as housebroken. Molly gets along with other dogs, but is dominant and a bit pushy so she would do best as the only pet in her next home.

Read more about Molly

She has had regular vet check ups and is current on all vaccines! She is starting to lose her eyesight, but she can still see and has no problems finding anything or getting around.

Molly has been with us awhile and we truly hope she will find her people soon! She deserves to be in a home where she can be the center of attention and spoiled with tons of love and attention in her golden years!

Molly is currently being fostered in Menifee, CA, but transport to surrounding states can be arranged for the right home.

If you're interested in meeting her, please visit our website at www.dominoeffectanimalrescue.org to fill out an adoption application!

5. Barney

Senior · Male · Jack Russell Terrier / Poodle (Standard) / Mixed (medium coat) · 47 mi from Vista Santa Rosa

Barney is definitely man's best friend. He enjoys a good scratch and will hang out with you while you watch TV. He even watches, too! He also loves his toys and will entertain himself with a bone for hours (no plush toys for him because he will pull out all the stuffing!) When you're feeling more active, Barney is happy to go out on adventures with you. He is very spry for his age! He loves car rides, hikes and exploring, but he sometimes pulls on his leash and barks at other dogs in excitement. He just wants to say hi, though! Barney is a very sweet dog and gets along with dogs, cats, kids and even bunnies! He would love a home with another dog, but he mostly just wants someone to give him attention and make him part of their family.

Read more about Barney

Barney is a very unique looking dog with his long legs, wire hair, and a mohawk! Even though he is only 20lbs, he tends to hang out with our big dogs since he is so tall! Barney is a Jack Russell Terrier/Poodle and approx 11 years old (he doesn't act like a senior at all). He is in great shape, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Barney is also housebroken, crate trained and knows basic commands.

6. Archie

Senior · Male · Chihuahua / Jack Russell Terrier (Parson Russell Terrier) / Mixed (medium coat) · 47 mi from Vista Santa Rosa

Archie is pretty much the perfect dog, but he gets overlooked because of his age. He is 12 years old but you'd guess he was younger. Yes, he loves to curl up in a lap to nap and doesn't require a lot of exercise, but he still enjoys playing and he loves to explore. He would love a family where he can be someone's travel buddy even if it's just a trip to a restaurant, coffee shop or the park. He loves car rides! Plus, he is friendly with everyone he meets, walks well on a leash, and has the best manners, so it's easy to have him tag along. He recently went to dog beach and had the best time! (Check out the video).

Read more about Archie

Archie gets along with all people, dogs and cats. He even previously lived with toddlers, but we think he deserves to spend his senior years in a bit more quiet environment than with young children.

Archie is approx 15lbs, neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. He has had a vet exam and bloodwork done (all looked great) and he recently had a dental. He doesn't have many teeth left, but he eats kibble just fine.

Archie is quiet, even- tempered, and fine when left alone. He is also housebroken and crate trained (but we never need to crate him).

7. Mollie

Adult · Female · Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Chinese Crested-Hairless / Mixed (medium coat) · 47 mi from Vista Santa Rosa

Mollie is a 6 yr old, 10 lb, Yorkie/Chinese Crested mix. How do we even describe her? She is a unique, special girl looking for a family who will love all her quirks!

First of all, Mollie has no sense of adventure and is a total homebody. She enjoys the comforts of home like a nice comfy couch. She has no desire to go on walks and does not enjoy car rides (she will hide under a seat, shaking the entire time). Whenever she is in a new, unknown environment, she is a nervous, shy girl. But, inside her home, she is happy, playful and very friendly! She will greet anyone (even a stranger) who walks through the door with so much exuberance!

Read more about Mollie

While Mollie is very friendly, she gets nervous when someone picks her up/carries her and she is not a big cuddler. She likes to hang out near you and enjoys a scratch behind her ears, but she is not a lap dog.

Despite her sometimes having anxiety, Mollie doesn't have an ounce of aggression. Even when she is at her most scared, she has never even growled or shown her teeth. The worst she will do is urinate if she gets extremely scared and that is very rare.

Since Mollie doesn't trust the outside world, she does bark when she hears noises. However, her previous family did not like it and got her debarked. She isn't totally silent when she barks, but it is not loud and it doesn't even sound like a bark. Very hard to explain the noise she makes, but she sort of sounds like an alien.

Mollie loves food! She came to us very overweight, but went on a diet and is the perfect weight now. Still, she scarfs down her meals and acts like you never fed her. Meal time makes her the most happy and she will spin in circles until she is fed. Mollie will not take your food while you're eating it, but, if you set it down, it's fair game and she will snatch it.

Mollie has allergies. She has food allergies and is on a specific kibble diet that works well for her but, during the spring, she also seems to have some environmental allergies that make her skin red and flakey. If it goes untreated, she will develop sores. When she shows any of these symptoms, we give her an allergy shot and it helps. We also regularly bathe her. Fortunately, she hasn't had any flare ups in awhile. Since she is mixed with Chinese Crested, the hair on her back is thin and is not from allergies or health issues. She will need an occasional haircut, especially for her face where the hair comes in full. We can recommend a great groomer if you are local and don't already have one.

Mollie gets along with cats and does great with other dogs. She would love a small pup to play with in her next home.

Mollie is housebroken and crate trained as well. She does fine left alone, but if she has free roam of the house, just make sure she cannot get to any food.

Besides her allergies, she is very healthy! She is vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped.

Mollie is quirky, but she is sweet, funny and, everyone who spends time with her, falls in love.

If you're interested in Mollie, please submit an adoption application on our website at www.dominoeffectanimalrescue.org

Adopting a dog in Vista Santa Rosa

Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.

Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.

Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
