Otis is being Fostered in Fort Wayne We can't say enough about Otis and what a great dog he is. He is smallboned at 43 pounds. He loves people, other dogs, and ignores cats. He is between 1 and 2 years old. He is very sweet and loves his dog buddies, snacks, and his toys. He’s not crazy about the leash yet, so he gets his exercise in a fenced area, running around and playing with his stuffies. He would love a home with another submissive dog to cuddle with. He truly loves his foster dogsHe had such a hard life in Louisiana before he came here. He deserves a great home. He was wandering the streets as a stray, and his body shows the trauma that comes from surviving as a street dog — he has many scars.

He wandered into a lady’s yard, probably looking for food. Instead of giving him any help, she beat him with a baseball bat. He cowered down, did not react, did not get aggressive — he just took the beating until another person saw what was happening, stepped in, and took him to the shelter. Puppy · Male · Terrier / Hound / Mixed

These active puppies are simply adorable! There are five boys and one girl, and they are all ready to find loving homes where they can grow, learn, and become the best dogs they can be.Like all puppies, they will need plenty of love, patience, training, and guidance as they grow. They are mixed-breed puppies, so their adult size is unknown. Their mom is a terrier/hound mix and weighs about 21 pounds, which may give you some idea of their potential size, but there are no guarantees. These little ones are both active and fun, and they have been around older children. A home with a securely fenced yard is preferred so they have plenty of room to play and explore. The puppies are currently in a foster home, so they do not attend regular adoption events.

Adopting a dog in Marshall County
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
