He watches and waits for his people, and you can tell he doesn’t understand why they aren’t coming back.Brinks is 45 lbs. of pure sweetness and just needs someone to remind him that being left behind isn’t the end of his story. Unlike Seinfeld’s Newman, this Newman is impossible not to like! At around 2 years old and 40 lbs., he’s brand new to the shelter but is already showing everyone what a fantastic temperament he has. He’s happy, friendly, and tested GREAT with all the dogs he met!No drama, no enemies, no “Newman!” said through gritted teeth here. Yancy is a sweet, timid little guy who is learning that the world isn’t so scary after all! His personality is really starting to shine, and it’s been so much fun watching his confidence grow.He’s gone from hiding in the corner to playing with other dogs and even seeking out attention from his people. Yancy is dog-friendly, has been around children ages 9, 5, and 18 months, is working on potty training, and does wonderfully in his kennel. As he gets braver, he’ll be ready to start learning his basic cues!This little guy is making great progress, and we can’t wait to see who he becomes.

He’s a Lab/American Staffordshire mix and is still settling in while we learn more about his personality and what type of home will be the best fit for him.Axel is a big boy who thinks he’s a lap dog, so a family who can appreciate his enthusiasm and give him plenty of room to run and play would be ideal. Nyla is 4 years old, 47 lbs, and absolutely one of a kind. She has the coolest scruffy shepherd-mix look, but it’s those stunning golden-brown eyes that really stop you in your tracks. She’s still very new to the shelter and figuring out her new surroundings, but even while unsure, Nyla has been incredibly sweet and gentle with people. She also tested wonderfully with both male and female dogs, which makes this girl even more special.Underneath that scruffy coat is a soft-hearted girl who just needs a little time, love, and a safe place to land. Nyla shouldn’t have to get used to shelter life—she deserves a home of her own.

Our Eric may not sail the seas like the prince from The Little Mermaid, but this 5-year-old, 41-pound handsome fellow has plenty of charm of his own. He’s happy, friendly, and wonderfully chill—the kind of guy who doesn’t need a castle, a royal title, or much fanfare. He’d just like a family to call his own. Prince Eric has manners befitting royalty, too—he knows “sit” and is happy to show off his skills. And did we mention he’s heartworm negative? With that shiny black coat, warm brown eyes, and ridiculously sweet smile, we’re honestly not sure how this prince is still sitting at the shelter waiting for his happily ever after.

Someone cropped his ears. Someone cropped his tail. We don’t know what Creed’s life looked like before the shelter—but they couldn’t take away his sweet spirit. Creed is a handsome 2-year-old, 55-lb boy with a huge smile and an even bigger heart. He’s a genuinely nice boy who tested well with other dogs and is heartworm negative! Like Apollo Creed said, “There is no tomorrow!” And for shelter dogs like Creed, sometimes that’s heartbreakingly true. He needs someone in his corner today.

PHOEBE — Because when it hasn’t been your day, your week, your month, or even your year… She’ll be there for you. If you’ve ever watched Friends, you know Phoebe Buffay was the lovable free spirit of the group—sweet, quirky, funny, and completely one of a kind. Well, meet our Phoebe… and we think the name fits pretty perfectly. Phoebe is incredibly sweet and friendly, and she has discovered one of life’s greatest pleasures: BELLY RUBS. Give her some love and she is one happy girl. She’s smart, too—she already knows how to sit for treats and she tested GREAT with other dogs! And could she BE any cuter in that dress and giant bow?!

Izzy may have been found as a stray all by herself, but something about this sweet girl tells us she’s been a mama before. And apparently, once a mama, always a mama. Every time Izzy meets a younger dog, her motherly instincts seem to kick right in. She gently checks them over, sniffing and fussing over them as if she’s asking, “Are you okay? Do you need a mama?” It’s one of the sweetest things to watch.We don’t know Izzy’s story or where her own puppies might be. We just know that this beautiful 2-year-old girl has a tender, nurturing heart and plenty of love left to give. She spent enough time looking after everyone else—now it’s Izzy’s turn to be someone’s baby.

Meet Bella, a sweet 1-year-old girl whose name couldn’t be more fitting. “Bella” means beautiful—and this girl is every bit as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Bella is a wonderfully gentle soul with a happy smile and an easygoing sweetness about her. She loves a good treat (because obviously ), and when the Louisiana heat kicks in, Bella knows exactly what to do—head straight for the kiddie pool to cool off! Bella also tested well with other dogs, making this sweet, social girl an even bigger catch. She’s only a year old, with an entire lifetime ahead of her. She deserves for that life to include a family, a soft bed, plenty of treats, and—if Bella gets a vote—her very own backyard kiddie pool.

Every once in a while, a dog comes into the shelter and leaves us completely baffled. Baxton is one of those dogs. He arrived already neutered. He’s clean and well cared for, without a flea on him. He knows how to sit. He clearly knows people and a leash. And most importantly, he is an incredibly sweet, friendly boy who looks at you with that huge smile like you’re already his best friend. Everything about Baxton makes us think this boy has known what it means to belong to someone. So we waited for his family to come. They never did. We may never know Baxton’s story or how he ended up here. But we do know the dog standing in front of us now—and he is an absolute gem.

At just 1 year old and 46 lbs, Macey is a beautiful young girl who’s still trying to figure out why she’s in a shelter. Everything is new and a little overwhelming, but through it all she has remained incredibly sweet, gentle, and accepting of love.She happily leans in for pets, looks up at you with hopeful eyes, and seems to be searching for someone to tell her everything will be okay. With her soft brown coat, bright smile, and loving personality, it won’t take much for Macey to blossom into an amazing best friend.

Ramsey is sweet, affectionate, precious, and ridiculously adorable—the kind of boy who would happily melt right into your lap if you let him. He’s also dog friendly, making him an even easier little guy to fall in love with. Ramsey is still just a baby, and instead of growing up in a shelter, he should be stretched out on someone’s couch getting all the snuggles he deserves.Cute face, cuddly personality, dog friendly… Ramsey is the whole package.
