Through no fault of her own, Flippers has found herself back with us and searching for a new family to love.To our surprise, Flippers is still very much a puppy at heart! She's matured in all the right ways and has gained some manners along the way, but she still has plenty of playful energy and enthusiasm for life. She recently spent time with our behaviorist, where she did very well and showed just how smart and adaptable she can be.Flippers has lived successfully with a small dog and enjoys canine companionship. She has also lived with younger children and did not show any issues. Cats, however, are a little too exciting for Flippers, so she is looking for a cat-free home. Because she's an active, athletic girl who loves to explore, she will require a home with a secure 6-foot fenced yard.Flippers has already overcome so much in her life, and through it all she has remained the happy, resilient dog we fell in love with from the beginning. Now all she needs is another chance at the forever home she deserves.Could Flippers be the missing piece in your family? In honor of Pit Bull Awareness Month, my adoption fee is WAIVED for the entire month of October! ❤Meet Boulderface, a 1-year-old XXL Bully mix with a head as big as his heart. This goofy guy came to us as a stray, so we don't know much about his past, but what we do know is that he's packed full of love, muscle, and personality.Boulderface may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but he makes up for it with endless affection and an adorable "big doofus" charm. He absolutely loves people and believes personal space is optional. In fact, he's one of the biggest leaners you'll ever meet. If you're standing nearby, expect a giant bully-sized shadow pressed against your side.

If you move, he's probably coming with you.Still very much a puppy at heart, Boulderface is learning the ropes. He already knows how to sit and usually comes when called, but he's still working on mastering those listening skills. With continued training, consistency, and patience, this lovable meathead is sure to keep making progress.Because of his size and strength, Boulderface is looking for a home with children over 8 years old who can comfortably handle a big, happy dog. He may enjoy a canine companion who can match his playful energy, but any meet-and-greets with resident dogs are recommended. Cats are definitely not his thing. Boulderface doesn't always realize just how big he is, and a feline friend would not appreciate his enthusiastic approach to life. The ideal home for Boulderface is one with someone willing to provide structure, guidance, and plenty of love. He needs a person who can occasionally put their foot down when this oversized puppy forgets his manners. In return, you'll get a loyal best friend, a professional cuddle expert, and enough love to fill an entire room.If you're looking for a giant goofball with a heart of gold and a face you'll never forget, Boulderface might just be your perfect match. ❤️Boulderface's adoption fee is $175, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. 3. Emmie
Adult · Female · German Shepherd Dog / Husky / Mixed · 10 mi from Rock Hall

❤️ Some dogs need a home. Emmie needs a place to heal. ❤️Meet Emmie — a 7-year-old Husky/German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her smile.Emmie came to us after her owner had to move in with family, and the resident dog in the home wasn't getting along with her. The family told us, "Emmie is perfect — she definitely wasn't the problem," and after just five minutes with her, you'll understand exactly what they meant.Emmie has done wonderfully with every person she's met. She's gentle, patient, and truly enjoys being part of a family. At this time, Emmie is looking for a quiet, low-stress home with no kids, no dogs, and no cats.
Read more about Emmie
Shelter life has pushed her stress to the max, and we've seen her become more irritable and less tolerant of fast movements, being grabbed quickly, or being told what to do.It's important to note that this is something we've only started seeing after Emmie has spent so much time in the shelter environment. The constant stress and lack of stability have been incredibly hard on her, and we're hopeful that once she's able to decompress in a home setting, these behaviors will improve or disappear altogether. Right now, she simply needs a calm environment where she can feel safe, secure, and not overwhelmed. One thing Emmie is struggling with here at the shelter is eating. Like many animals who come from loving homes, the sudden change has been hard on her. Her previous family tried everything to make the situation work before making the heartbreaking decision to surrender her, and Emmie is feeling that loss too. We've tried countless foods and tricks to help her settle in, but nothing has fully stuck yet. What she does love is human food — she's a girl with taste. If you're someone who enjoys cooking, understands sensitive dogs, and has room in your heart for a companion who desperately wants to feel secure again, Emmie is waiting for you. She's one of those dogs who is simply too good to be anywhere but in a home where she's truly loved.Even if you're not in a position to adopt, we'd love to talk with you about fostering. Getting Emmie out of the shelter, even temporarily, could make a world of difference for her. If you think you can give her a quiet place to decompress and feel safe, please reach out — we're happy to chat about whether fostering or adoption might be the right fit.Emmie deserves a soft place to land, and we're hopeful her person is out there. ❤️This pet has been sponsored and is free for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. 4. Peppercorn
Adult · Female · Pit Bull Terrier · 10 mi from Rock Hall

In honor of Pit Bull Awareness Month, my adoption fee is WAIVED for the entire month of October! ❤❤️ After years of putting everyone else first, Peppercorn is finally looking for a family who will make her the center of their world. ❤️Meet Peppercorn, a sweet, gentle girl who came to us skinny, alone, and still somehow full of joy. Even on her very first day, she greeted us with a wagging tail and acted like she had known us forever. It didn’t take long for us to see just how much love she has to give.During her dog test, Peppercorn showed us that after likely being bred over and over again, she’s ready for a life where she can finally just be her own dog.
Read more about Peppercorn
She prefers to be the only animal in the home, but with kids she has been nothing but wonderful. She’s patient, affectionate, and we have no concerns about her living with children.Peppercorn recently enjoyed a weekend sleepover with a foster family, where we learned even more about what makes her special. She absolutely adores children and even made several trips to a local middle school, where she happily made dozens of new friends. She loved every bit of the attention and proved what a wonderful family companion she can be.Like many dogs adjusting to life in a home, Peppercorn is still working on a few skills. She will need continued training with counter surfing and would benefit from crate training to help her settle comfortably into her new routine. She's eager to please and ready to learn alongside a family willing to guide her.Peppercorn is also still learning what toys are and how to have fun with them, but she's trying, and it's adorable to watch her discover joy in real time. She also enjoys the simple pleasures in life, especially finding a sunny spot to stretch out and sunbathe. Love, though? She knows that better than anyone. When you look at her, you can guess the past she's had, but you can also see how ready she is for a future filled with kindness, comfort, and a family who will finally treat her the way she deserves. ☀️❤️If you’re looking for a loyal, loving dog who will devote her whole heart to her family, Peppercorn is ready to meet you.Peppercorn's adoption fee is $0, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoptionPlease note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. His favorite activities include relaxing with his people and soaking up attention after a day of play.Like many young dogs, Ford is also a bit of a counter surfer. His future family will need to help him continue learning good manners around food and keep tempting snacks safely out of reach. Puppy (7 months) · Female · German Shepherd Dog (medium coat) · 23 mi from Rock Hall

Update
LIESEL
Liesel came to All Shepherd Rescue with her brother, Otto, when their owner developed medical issues and could no longer care for them. Despite the unexpected change in her young life, Liesel is a sweet, gentle girl but is VERY SHY.
Un
It appears that neither Liesel or Otto were given the type of exposure to new sights and sounds that puppies need .
Read more about Liesel
They are extremely shy but gentle and sweet. We are working with them to help them become comfortable with us and show the typical playful antics of puppies . Patience and time are they key to helping these lovely pups become more confident and ready to explore their new life . They are not fear aggressive at all---just shy.
If you would like to learn more about either , please email adoptions@allshepherdrescue.com
When applying to adopt one of our puppies, please remember :
Up to the age of 8 months old, puppies cannot be left alone for a standard 8-9 work day.
Arrangements will have to be in place for 4 hour intervals until the pups are at least 8 months old
.
Having someone with them every 4 hours until they are older greatly facilitates the housebreaking process as well as assists with the general
socialization
of your pup !

16. Suki
Young (2 years) · Female · German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat) · 23 mi from Rock Hall

Suki is a 2 year old loving, goofy, energetic, sweet, and loyal dog who will thrive with an active family or person who understands and appreciates the intelligence and exuberance of a young GSD. She will do best in an adult only home (NO cats) where she can run and play to her heart’s content.
A home with a backyard would be ideal.
Suki was rescued from a local shelter about 2 years ago, she is a high energy, easily excitable, and protective dog.
Read more about Suki
Suki is very smart and was trained at Applejack K-9 Academy & Kennel. She knows commands with hand signals - COME, SIT, DOWN, STAY, HEEL, STAND, FINISH, WAIT, DROP IT, LEAVE IT , OFF, GIVE EASY, GENTLE, KENNEL, RELEASE, and BALL. There is no limit to her intelligence, she is a very quick learner. She has been trained with an e-collar.
She would be a great working dog on a farm or as a scent detection dog.
She loves a mission and is very obedient and committed in this regard! She is great at obstacle courses too.
Suki likes to play with stuffed animals and balls of any kind, especially Jolly Balls and balls that make noise. She enjoys playing monkey in the middle with a ball or toy, fetch, chase and tug. She also likes hunting for treats that are hidden around the house.
She adores having chewable treats that soften as she chews them and peanut butter-filled plastic or natural bones.
Suki has one ear! The original rescue believes it was a birth deformity since it was fully healed and healthy when she arrived to them at 4 weeks.
Suki's best life includes
plenty of exercise at local parks, and/or trails, training, guidance and structure.
If you are looking for a devoted best friend, who loves being active and having fun, Suki is your girl.

Adopting a dog in Rock Hall
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
