About Roxy Baby

Read more about Roxy Baby LOCAL MEET ME

Roxy Baby is the perfect blend of athletic Boxer energy and sweet companion. At three years old, she has outgrown the hectic puppy phase but still has plenty of stamina for long walks, backyard games of fetch, or weekend hikes. When playtime is over, she loves nothing more than curling up next to her favorite humans for some well-deserved belly rubs.

Because Roxy Baby's history with children and felines is currently unknown, a home that can manage slow, managed introductions would be best. If you have kids or other pets, a meet-and-greet will be an important step to ensure everyone gets along. She would thrive with an active individual or family who can give her the exercise, training, and love she deserves.

Medical Note: This dog is being treated/has been treated for heartworm disease. Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog’s health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future. Whenever possible, SOSARL advocates for following the American Heartworm Society guidelines for heartworm disease treatment as the safest and most effective methods; the active portion of this treatment protocol can take up to four months to complete. Once treatment is completed and the dog tests negative for microfilaria, the dog will be cleared to resume normal activity and will be ready to travel north and be placed into an adoptive home. This dog showed no symptoms of heartworm disease before or during treatment, and is expected to complete treatment with no complications. Please ask your Adoption Counselor for the specific treatment protocol used for and current status of this dog. Please check with your vet if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history.

Milo

Read more about Milo LOCAL MEET ME

, a handsome 2-year-old Shepherd mix who is ready to find his ultimate adventure partner! With his striking good looks and intelligent, loyal eyes, Milo is the perfect blend of brains and athletic charm.

At two years old, Milo is past the hectic puppy phase but still has plenty of youthful energy. True to his Shepherd heritage, he is eager to please, alert, and thrives when he has a job to do—whether that's joining you on a morning jog, learning cool new tricks, or mastering the perfect leash walk. He has a sharp mind that loves puzzle toys and consistent, positive training. When the outdoor fun is done, Milo is more than happy to settle down by your feet (or on your lap, if you let him!) for a serious cuddle session.

Milo’s history with children and felines is currently unknown. Because shepherds can have a natural herding instinct, any introductions to kids or small animals should be done slowly, safely, and with supervision.

He thrives on structure and would love a person or family ready to continue his basic training to help him be the best canine citizen he can be.

If you are looking for a loyal, intelligent, and active companion to fill your days with love and adventure, Milo might just be your perfect match!

Hi, I’m
Aniya
! I’m a 1-year-old Shepherd mix with a lot of love to share and zero hesitation when it comes to making human or canine friends. I love playing, exploring, and hanging out with my people. My foster folks aren't quite sure how I feel about cats or kids yet since we haven't officially met, so I’d love a family willing to help me figure those out at my own pace. Want to go on an adventure together?

An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this.

19. Luna

Young · Female · Australian Shepherd

Meet Luna! A Beautiful Australian Shepherd Looking for Her Forever Home!Say hello to Luna, a gorgeous 2-year-old purebred Australian Shepherd with so much love to give! This beautiful girl is searching for a patient, understanding family who will give her the opportunity to feel safe, build trust, and show off her wonderful personality! We want to be upfront about one important thing with Luna. She can be reactive when meeting new people. New faces and unfamiliar situations can make her nervous, and she may initially react out of fear or uncertainty. Because of this, Luna needs slow, controlled introductions and someone who understands the importance of giving her a little space and time to adjust. The good news? After just a few minutes, once Luna realizes you're a friend, she typically settles down and warms up! And once she knows you, she's a completely different dog! Luna is fun-loving, playful, affectionate, and full of personality.

Read more about Luna

She just needs someone willing to look past those first few nervous moments to discover the amazing dog underneath. Once is is in a home where she is socialized, she will be fine!Luna would do best with a family that understands her initial reactivity and is willing to be patient and consistent with introductions. A home with a yard would be wonderful, but she would also be happy with someone who enjoys regular walks, outdoor activities, and spending quality time with their dog. A Little More About Luna: Age: 2 years old Breed: Purebred Australian Shepherd Gender: Female Vaccinations: Up to date Spay Status: Not yet spayed, but our rescue will arrange for her to be spayed Cats: Good with cats! Small Dogs: Does well with small dogs Large Dogs: No large dogs, please Children: Older, respectful children who understand boundaries and can give her space when needed Ideal Home: A patient, understanding family with a yard or an active lifestyle that includes regular walks and exercise Luna isn't a dog who will necessarily run up and greet everyone with a wagging tail right away, and that's okay! She needs a family who understands that her initial reaction doesn't define who she truly is.Once Luna feels comfortable, you'll see just how sweet, silly, and loving this beautiful girl can be. With patience, understanding, and the right environment, she has so much love and companionship to offer.Luna doesn't need a perfect home. She needs the right home — one that will give her a chance. Adult · Female · Terrier / Mixed

Chantilly came into care with her puppies, Dust Bunny and Couch Crumb, but while her babies were able to move forward, Chantilly had to stay behind and focus on getting healthy. She tested positive for heartworm and needed treatment before she could safely move on to the next chapter. She also had complications with anesthesia, which meant her spay had to be postponed until she was strong enough to safely undergo surgery. Now, Chantilly has completed her heartworm treatment and is microfilaria negative, and she is finally ready to start looking for the home she has been waiting for. Chantilly is dog friendly and absolutely loves attention.

PLEASE READ: • If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this. • All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date. • Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments. Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well. Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation. For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. Adopting a dog in Bristol County

Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.

Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.

Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
