Meet Yogi, a handsome 6-year-old German Shorthair Mix who is neutered and up to date on vaccines. This happy, friendly, good-natured guy is looking for a home where he can settle in and be somebody’s very best buddy. ❤️
Yogi has gone through training and has some pretty great manners to show for it! He has good recall, listens well, and is very food motivated, which makes continuing his training a breeze. He loves going for walks, spending time outside, and hopping in the car for an adventure.

And if you really want to win him over? Butt scratches. Apparently those are an essential part of the Yogi benefits package.
Yogi can enjoy being social with other dogs in small doses and with enough space to take a break when he needs one, but he would be happiest being the only pet in his home, where he doesn’t have to share his space or his people.
Yogi’s ideal home:• Only pet, please• No cats• No children• Someone who will continue using the skills he learned in training• A person who enjoys walks, outdoor adventures, car rides, cozy blankets and a very appreciative butt-scratch recipient
Yogi has a healthy appetite, a happy disposition, and plenty of love to give. He’s looking for the right person who will appreciate him exactly as he is.
⚠️ Yogi is a COURTESY POST and is not an MMAR dog. MMAR is helping spread the word to find this handsome guy the home that fits him best.

14. Finley
Young (2 years) · Male · Labrador Retriever (medium coat) · 18 mi from Center Line

Meet Finley-Finn, one of our newest residents at the Mikey & Me Kennels for Happy Days Rescue.
Finn is a 2 year old Black Lab mix and he’s slowly learning that the world can be a safe and exciting place. We are looking to place Finn into a loving Foster home while he continues to embrace his new life. Mikey & Me and Happy Days Rescue will cover all standard expenses while Finn is being fostered.
Read more about Finley
Finn arrived at Mikey & Me in late August and he was afraid to go outside. But he is beginning to overcome this fear with noticeable improvement every day. He came to us underweight but he is gradually gaining weight and feeling better. Thankfully, he tested negative for Heart Worm disease at his first Vet appt. in Dexter.
While he may be reserved with new people at first, Finn’s gentle nature shines through once he begins to feel comfortable. Even with his current level of fear, Finn has never growled, tried to nip, or reacted in any way to any of our 70+ volunteers. Finn does well with other dogs and seems to gain confidence when he has canine companions around. He would likely thrive in a home with another friendly, well-balanced dog who can help show him the ropes and boost his confidence.
Finn is very sweet at heart and just needs patience, kindness, and time to fully open up. In the right home, he has all the potential to grow into a loyal, loving companion who bonds deeply with his person.
If you’re unable to Foster, please consider sharing this post to help Finn find a safe, loving, and quiet home. When he’s ready, his foster family will have the first chance at adopting Finn into their home.

Meet Marko—aka Juggernaut!
Estimated date of birth: June 16, 2026

Marko is an active, vocal and delightfully sassy puppy. He will need a patient, committed family that understands puppy behavior and is willing to continue his training as he grows.

If you’re looking for a spirited little superhero and are ready to put in the time that puppyhood requires, Marko may be the perfect addition to your family!
16. Jv Litter Zena
Adult (4 years) · Female · American Pit Bull Terrier / Labrador Retriever / Mixed · 18 mi from Center Line

Zena is a wonderful young lady. She loves to lay on our couch or bed and receive cuddles and scratches. She's friendly with everyone we've met so far, including other dogs, people, and kids. She does, however, have a strong prey drive and needs some work on leash training. But she does love going for a walk! She also loves our yard and would really benefit from a well-fenced yard and/or an active owner. I bet she'd be a good running companion. The two times she was off leash and out of our yard (unintentionally), she ranged around, sniffing for interesting prey items, but then returned, ecstatic to see us and our backyard.

She will make a great companion for an active owner and also a family that can provide lots of love and activity.

The first step in adopting one of our rescue dogs is to fill out our online application. Once we receive the application, we will do a vet reference check. If we feel the potential adopter is the best fit for the dog, and vice versa, the adoption will take place.
Adopting a dog in Center Line
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
