Adult (5 years 11 months) · Male · German Shorthaired Pointer / Mixed (short coat)

COURTESY POST: Meet Yogi!
Meet Yogi, a handsome 6-year-old German Shorthair Mix who is neutered and up to date on vaccines. This happy, friendly, good-natured guy is looking for a home where he can settle in and be somebody’s very best buddy. ❤️
Yogi has gone through training and has some pretty great manners to show for it! He has good recall, listens well, and is very food motivated, which makes continuing his training a breeze. He loves going for walks, spending time outside, and hopping in the car for an adventure.
When the exploring is done, Yogi is perfectly happy curling up on a cozy blanket and relaxing with his people.

And if you really want to win him over? Butt scratches. Apparently those are an essential part of the Yogi benefits package.
Yogi can enjoy being social with other dogs in small doses and with enough space to take a break when he needs one, but he would be happiest being the only pet in his home, where he doesn’t have to share his space or his people.
Yogi’s ideal home:• Only pet, please• No cats• No children• Someone who will continue using the skills he learned in training• A person who enjoys walks, outdoor adventures, car rides, cozy blankets and a very appreciative butt-scratch recipient
Yogi has a healthy appetite, a happy disposition, and plenty of love to give. He’s looking for the right person who will appreciate him exactly as he is.
⚠️ Yogi is a COURTESY POST and is not an MMAR dog. MMAR is helping spread the word to find this handsome guy the home that fits him best.

ABOUT CUBERT

Cubert was found abandoned on a very very rural road, practically in the middle of nowhere. (Video in comments when we found him) He stayed sitting in the same spot on the side of the road for who knows how long. When we got to him, he was skin and bones, absolutely starving and sad. He smelt like vomit and garbage
Cubert has since turned around completley!!
He has gained 10lbs, is fully vet treated, and is a very happy go lucky boy!! He loves treats, stuffed animal toys & ropes, he likes to play catch, and he LOVES to bury his head in your lap and get all of the lovings in the world. He knows sit, speak and shake but he gets very excited so some times he forgets He is starting to figure out “stay” and “back”.
Cuberts Ideal Home:
~Active household, he would love to go for frequent runs or walks and he loves to play.
~somewhere he can receive all the love and pets in the world
~ a household with no cats or very few cats (although he does okay with them, he does chase when the start to play)
Cubert does GREAT with DOGS and CHILDREN, we have a 17mo old and he does great with her. However, older children would may be better as he is still learning his manners! (He likes to jump up)

Adopting a dog in Macomb County
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
