15. Kemba
5 Years 9 Months · Female · Rottweiler / Mixed · 26 mi from Manchester

Kemba was placed by the rescue in 2020. The adopters have requested our help in rehoming her.
Kemba really is a great dog with so much love to give. She's incredibly affectionate and loves being around people. Whether it's playing fetch, going for walks, or just curling up next to you on the couch, she's happiest when she's spending time with someone. One of the things we've always loved about her is how easily she adjusts to whatever we're doing. She can play ball for hours if you're up for it, but she's just as happy lounging on the couch all afternoon. She sleeps well at night, usually on the living room couch.

She's always been great with kids, from little ones to teenagers, and gets along really well with other animals. She doesn't have any issues with resource guarding, but she definitely likes being the center of attention! If another animal is getting some love, she'll sometimes try to get your attention back on her.

Fall is in the air, and Felix is ready to be your ultimate pumpkin-spice sidekick! This handsome 3-year-old Rottie made the road trip up from Georgia and is fully prepared to leap into your pile of leaves (and your heart). His foster parent reports that he is a certified "good boy" and an absolute doll who just wants to cuddle. [1]
Felix is already fully house-trained and a total pro in his crate. Now, let’s talk about his true passion: snacks. Felix is insanely food-motivated. He will do absolutely anything for a treat—which means you can easily train him to do tricks, or just use biscuits to negotiate his help pulling you down the street (he's a strong boy who likes to work those leash muscles!).{C}
Friends and Family:
When it comes to other dogs, Felix is a total lady's man! He absolutely loves his canine girlfriends and prefers his four-legged companions to be female. He has also met some human kids and was wonderful and gentle with them. However, if your home includes a feline friend, Felix is going to have to pass. He thinks cats are a little too exciting, so a cat-free castle is a must.
If you are looking for a big, goofy cuddle bug to keep you warm this autumn, Felix is your guy!

28. Gunner
Adult (3 years) · Male · Rottweiler · 26 mi from Manchester

Meet Gunner, a big-hearted, gentle giant at 3 years old and 120 pounds. He’s house-broken, knows his commands, and absolutely loves being around people and other dogs. Though he hasn’t met kids or cats just yet, his friendly nature shines through. Gunner’s looking for a forever home where he can share his loyalty, his joy, and his big, loving presence. We have been told he doesn’t love car rides and prefers his prized possessions to be his (who doesn’t)
Gunner is located in Eastern PA.

Adopting a large dog in Manchester
Large dogs need room to stretch out and plenty of exercise: at least one good walk a day, and a secure yard is a bonus. Check your lease too, as some landlords limit the size or breed of dog.
Start training from day one. A big dog who walks nicely on a leash and doesn't jump up is a pleasure to live with, and many rescues can recommend a local trainer.
