My name is Fenwick, and my favorite letter is F! I’m a friendly, fun-loving, 1-year-old Beagle mix with a fondness for meeting new people and making furry friends. I weigh in at 26 fine pounds, and I’m still filling out a little!

Unlike some of my fellow Beagles, I’ve decided that being quiet is better than barking fervently. I’m more of a tail-wagging, face-licking, friendship-making kind of fellow!

Read more about Fenwick

You can find me exploring and wagging my tail nearly every day! Take me to the forest, let me frolic through some flowers, bring me along to festivals, visit a friend’s house, or take me to the Farmer’s Market. I’m always up for a little fun! I’m great in the car and fairly fluent in following along on my leash.

And the crate? Well, food has quickly taught me that it’s a safe and comfortable space. Give me a fine little morsel, and I’ll happily head right in! I’m also house-trained and already know how to follow a few important instructions, like “sit.”

If you’re looking for a friendly, fun-loving companion to fill your family with furry friendship, please consider meeting me! I come FULLY VETTED and absolutely full of love.

17. Lulu

Adult (2 years 5 months) · Female · Basset Hound · 17 mi from Kettering

Meet Lulu! Lulu is a sweet 2 1/2 year-old female basset hound looking for a new home. Lulu is a very friendly and loving girl who for the most part is pretty quiet! She loves to play with toys and she loves to snuggle! And she has these eyes that will win you over and have you wrapped around her little paw!

Read more about Lulu

We do not know Lulu‘s complete background, we were told that one of her former owners was older and had a hard time walking so she was rehomed. We were also told that there was another Former Owner who was moving out of state and could not take her. The family that relinquished Lulu to us loved her dearly but was having an issue with Lulu not wanting to share her humans with the other dogs in the house.

She did feed Lulu separately due to some food aggression with her other dogs. She is definitely a basset when it comes to getting into some things left out! She is cute and sneaky!

Lulu will need a home with somebody who has previously owned a basset hound and is familiar with their stubborn nature! She is dog selective as she was fine with one of the other dogs in her last home but did not want to share her human with the other. New owners will need to discipline her and teach her sharing manners. She is not cat tested.

Kids age 10 minimum. She will also require a home with a fenced in yard. Lulu‘s adoption fee is $300 and she is spayed and up-to-date on all of her shots. If

5 years old. 8 pounds. One tiny white pony with a big personality.

Have you ever dreamed about the perfect white pony—but without the feed bill and at a fraction of the size? If so, Markie hits the mark! Although he can’t pull a carriage, he can certainly pull off Mr. Charming.

This little Maltipoo is proof that you don’t need to be big to make a grand entrance!

A LITTLE ABOUT MARKIE:

A real-life My Little Pony! Markie lives to rear up and do a little dance. Naturally, we sing the My Little Pony theme song while he shows off his signature moves!

Read more about Markie

Leisurely flower sniffer! Markie enjoys taking his time on walks, sniffing the flowers, exploring his surroundings, and appreciating the finer things in life.

A working little man! Markie enjoys having a job and takes his responsibilities seriously—especially when it comes to reminding everyone that he is still a dog when it comes to his territory.

No one comes around unnoticed! Markie considers himself head of security. Nothing happens on his watch, and no visitor arrives without being properly announced.

Social butterfly! Markie enjoys walks and playing with other dogs. He is social and would love having another dog to snuggle with in his forever home.

✨ MARKIE’S PERSONALITY & NEEDS ✨

Maltipoo charm in a tiny package
Loves to rear up and dance
Enjoys wrestling and playing
Loves walks and sniffing flowers
Social with other dogs
Would enjoy a canine companion
Protective of his territory
Non-shedding breed
Requires regular grooming to prevent matting

Tiny body, BIG range of emotions! Markie will need a firm, confident leader who can provide structure, clear boundaries, and consistent guidance. He is not shy about letting people know that all eight pounds of him can Jekyll-and-Hyde his way from prancing pony to white devil when he feels the need to defend his territory!

His new family will need to understand that his adorable size does not mean he should be allowed to make all the decisions. With the right leadership, Markie can be a charming, playful, affectionate companion.

✂️ GROOMING IS A MUST! Because Markie is a non-shedding breed, his coat will mat without regular brushing and professional grooming. His new family will need to stay committed to maintaining his coat and keeping him comfortable, healthy, and looking his best.

MEET HEYY NOVA — 5 POUNDS OF PURE, UNFILTERED ATTITUDE!

7 years old. 5 pounds. 150-pound Mastiff mentality.

Food is life! Hey loves to eat, and honestly, who doesn’t love a girl with a healthy appreciation for snacks?

️ Professional couch potato! She’s a low-energy girl who enjoys the finer things in life: relaxing, riding around, eating, and ruling her kingdom from the comfort of her throne.

A little obedience goes a long way! She enjoys doing a smidgen of obedience, especially when there’s a good reason to participate. She doesn’t need to run a marathon, but she does need to understand that her new family is in charge!

✨ SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS ✨

Advanced obedience trained
Knows RIGHT and HEEL on and off leash
E-collar trained
Knows her PLACE command
Crate trained and potty trained
Low-energy companion
Loves car rides and relaxing with her people

What about other dogs? She can live with other dogs, but we believe she’d be happiest as the only dog in the home, where she can soak up the attention and have a little less competition for her royal position. Well, we got the graceful part wrong! Stallone is gorgeous, and petting him is like petting a soft baby bunny, but watching him walk (or heaven forbid, run) is like watching a baby deer on ice. He’s all awkward hops, crashes, and questionable braking skills!

Read more about Stallone

But what he lacks in coordination, he more than makes up for in personality! Stallone is a sweet, puppy-like lovebug who LOVES other dogs, enjoys toys, and will do just about anything for a treat. He’s also wonderful with cats and kids and would make an especially great addition to a family with little ones.

Stallone has been through enough. He’s ready to trade his rough beginning for a lifetime of love, laughter, and a family to call his own.

Apply to adopt our handsome, hilariously uncoordinated Italian Stallion today! ❤️

24. Penny Sue

Adult (2 years) · Female · American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat) · 14 mi from Kettering

Hi my name is Penny Sue. I was rescued off of a euthanasia list from a shelter in Memphis, TN. So please consider me a Southern belle ❤️
I’ve been at my foster parents’ home for less than a week, but I’m settling in quite nicely. I have two puppy foster siblings, a resident dog sibling and a resident cat sibling. All have been very nice accepting me into the family. I love being part of a family. They say I’m here until I find my own family, which fine because I really do want my own family!!
I like car rides, walks, playing outside, treats, pets/hugs, belly rubs, and laying on the couch with my foster parents and sibs.

Read more about Penny Sue

I am a great warm, weighted blanket!I I am house-trained and crate trained. I only bark when I’m excited (which doesn’t happen often, I’m pretty chill) or alerting my foster parents that something’s going on that shouldn’t be. Otherwise I’m as quiet as a mouse. My foster mom says my whine is so cute and dainty, I sound like a puppy even though I’m two years old.
Won’t you please consider a meet and greet with me? I’d love to meet you and see if I can become a part of your family!
Love,
Penny Sue

29. Coffee Bean

Adult (3 years) · Female · Shar Pei / Mixed (short coat) · 14 mi from Kettering

Hi, I’m Coffee Bean. I was dumped in Dayton, OH to fend for myself and I was pregnant. After several scary days out in the heat, I was rescued by Adopt A Pit. I was the best Mamma to my last litter of 6 babies, but I am so happy to now be spayed, vetted, and have my cherry eye fixed! The people that abandoned me didn’t take care of me, and I am so grateful for love and affection. They didn’t know I love to play fetch, cuddle up on a soft bed, or rest my big, beautiful head on my person’s lap. I am finally feeling so much better but am dreaming of a family or person to say “yes” to me. I am still afraid of things, so need a slow introduction to your house and other pets. I am gaining confidence though and love a good walk or romp in the yard. I’m 3 years old, about 65lbs and I have been told my coat is soft and beautiful, the color of a coffee bean.

30. Buddy

Adult (2 years) · Male · Rottweiler / Mixed (short coat) · 14 mi from Kettering

Hello there, future family! My name is Buddy, and I am a handsome, 2-year-old Rottweiler with a heart as big as my paws. If you are looking for a devoted companion who is already ahead of the class, I might just be the perfect match you have been searching for!

Read more about Buddy

I am a young, enthusiastic boy who has already mastered the basics of being an absolute gentleman. I am proud to say that I am fully potty trained and crate trained, so you won't have to worry about the messy parts of raising a puppy. Even better, I have completed professional training! I know my manners, listen beautifully, and love having a job to do. Because I thrive on knowing exactly what is expected of me, I am looking for a loving, structured owner who can continue to guide me with clear boundaries, positive reinforcement, and consistent routines.

When it comes to making friends, I am fantastic with other dogs and truly enjoy canine company! My history with cats is currently unknown, so a home without feline friends or one prepared for very careful, slow introductions would be best.

I am a loyal, affectionate soul who is entirely ready to commit to my forever person or family. If you have experience with strong, smart breeds and are ready to provide the loving structure I need to shine, please don't hesitate. I am waiting patiently to meet you, so fill out an adoption application today and let's start our grand adventure together! Buddy has a high grade heart murmur; once any application is processed, we are happy to discuss further.

Why adopt an adult dog in Kettering

An adult dog's personality is fully formed, so the rescue can tell you how they are with people, other pets and busy households. Many have lived in foster homes and are already house-trained.

Grown dogs need less supervision than puppies and often know the basics, like sitting and walking on a leash, which suits people who work or have young children.
