Hi there! My name is Zeke, and I am a 5-month-old Golden Retriever mix with a heart full of joy and a wagging tail that never stops! My foster family says I am the ultimate happy-go-lucky boy. I am incredibly easygoing, which means I love to go with the flow, whether we are exploring the world or hanging out at home. I am a super smart puppy. I am very eager to please and absolutely love making you proud, especially when you tell me what a good boy I am! I learn new things super fast, which makes training a blast. Right now, I am working really hard on my potty training, and I am getting better every single day. When it comes to playtime, I am an expert! My absolute favorite things to do are chasing balls and sticks, playing with my canine friends, and I like to watch the birds fly around in my yard. I get along great with other dogs and kids, making me a perfect candidate for a fun, active family. I haven't met any cats yet, so that would be a new adventure for us to navigate together. After a busy day of playing and learning, there is nothing I love more than a good cuddle session. I will happily curl up right next to you to show you how affectionate I am. I am already neutered and fully up to date on all of my vaccines, so I am completely ready to find my forever family. Could that be you?

Hi, I'm Birdie! I am a five-month-old Blue Tick Hound and Golden Retriever mix, and I am officially looking for my forever family! My mom was a Blue Tick Hound and my dad was a Golden Retriever, which my foster family says makes me the perfect mix of super smart, highly observant, and extra cute. I have a loving heart and a totally outgoing personality. In fact, I have never met a stranger in my whole life! I absolutely love playing with other dogs and I do amazing with kids. Paisley came into a pound in MS pregnant. All her puppies were weaned and adopted. Paisley was heartworm positive but she has been treated successfully and now she's ready to travel and find a family of her own. Paisley is crate trained, leash trained and appears to be potty trained. She loves puppies and gets along with other dogs. But if the other dog is too pushy she will put them in their place with a "leave me be" snarl. Paisley can be timid at first but warms up quickly and LOVES people and attention. She has been cat tested and is friendly.

Meet Knight. This senior boy has had the benefit of lots of love for his entire life but unfortunately, the family he was raised with had some changes and one of the resident dogs became highly aggressive to him. His former owner made the heartbreaking decision to surrender him to rescue for his own safety, and we've brought him into foster care. He is a Boston/Pekingese mix, and an absolute, sweetheart! Knight is very well socialized and meets people well, he's great with other dogs, he is loving, affectionate and a really nice dog. We've gotten him to the vet to get him up-to-date on shots and have scheduled his neuter, and he's looking for a safe and loving retirement home.

Ace has arrived in RI!! He acts like he has always been here. He is outgoing, loves people including young children. Ignores cats and is great around older dogs. Younger dogs seem to be a little too much for him. He is fully potty trained and acts like a big dog in a tiny body! He does have some separation anxiety but is not destructive. He would do best in a home with someone who can be with him most of the day. He loves hiking, car rides, going anywhere and everywhere with his people. He does need a home where he can share a couch and a bed at night with. If you are looking for a little shadow who just wants to be loved, Ace might be the one for you!
Ace successfully treated heartworm treatment in MS and is ready to find his forever home.

Adopting a dog with children in Warwick
Bring the whole family to meet the dog before you adopt, and ask the rescue how the dog behaves around children your kids' ages.
Teach children to let the dog come to them, to stroke gently, and to leave the dog alone while it's eating or sleeping. Give the dog a bed or crate of their own to retreat to, and always supervise young children with a new dog.
Relaxed adult dogs are often a better match for young children than puppies, which jump up, nip and chew while they learn.
