1. Papito
Adult (3 years 1 month) · Male · Jack Russell Terrier / Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat) · 79 mi from Beaumont

DOB 10/1623, weight 16 #
Hey there, everyone! I’m Papito, a black and tan Jackshund (Jack Russell/ Dachshund mix) fella. I was happily situated in my adoptive home until my owners encountered financial difficulties. Unfortunately they had to downsize to a smaller home and couldn’t take me with them. Thank heavens my new foster mom welcomed me with open arms until I can find a new home. I get along great with the visiting grandkids, other small dogs, and even the cats in my foster home, although I’m nervous around large dogs whom I meet on walks.
Read more about Papito
Because my previous household was quiet, when I first arrived in my foster home, I was very fearful and shy because of the robust dog and cat activity. Fortunately, Foster Mom knew that it would take time and patience for me to adjust into my new “digs,” and with her gentle voice and affectionate touch, she has been showing me that I am securely loved, and --voilà! – watching me blossom has been something truly special for her. My prior owners had not trained me well, but Foster Mom is helping me work on my housetraining and crate-training – let’s just say that I’m a work-in-progress.
Now I’m looking for the family who will welcome me into my forever household. If you have a quiet home and a little patience, I think we might be exactly who each of us has been waiting for. Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much love to give – all I need is YOU!
HOPE ID D26-1016-0055
Papito’s $200 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for heartworms, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment for heartworms and fleas.

7. Dash
Adult (6 years 5 months) · Male · Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie (medium coat) · 83 mi from Beaumont

Dash (originally named 'BESO' by CAP) was pulled from CAP after he showed 'kennel cough' symptoms. Since there are so many unvaccinated/young dogs in the shelter, it was not safe for anyone to leave him there. ALL of our dogs are fully vaccinated against kennel cough, so bringing him into our care was safe. He went straight to our vet, where they told us he showed NO sign of kennel cough. (Probably just the irritation of the trachea from his trach tube during his neuter surgery!) This little boy is a delight.

Banjo is a smart little pup who's already crate trained and sleeps like a champ in his crate through the night! He's still working on potty training but is catching on quickly.
Read more about Banjo
This social butterfly would absolutely love a home with a furry sibling or kids to play with! He's also cat friendly, although he thinks kitties make great playmates, so dog-savvy cats would be best.
Banjo is ready to bring lots of laughs, puppy kisses, and unconditional love to his forever family. If you're looking for a playful sidekick who doubles as a snuggle buddy, Banjo just might be your perfect match!

Meet Heath, a wonderfully sweet "badger boy" with a beautiful, slightly curly coat who is looking for his perfect forever family! As part of our "Sweet Treat" litter born right here in our rescue care, Heath has been raised with hands-on love from the very beginning, making him remarkably calm, smart, and responsive to human affection. He is a gentle soul who is perhaps a bit more thoughtful and reserved than his energetic littermates, making him an absolute dream for someone who loves a balanced pup. MEET ANDE — FRECKLES, FLUFF & A WHOLE LOT OF LOVE!
Some girls have beauty marks… Ande has the CUTEST little freckles!
Meet Ande, an adorable black-and-white baby girl with a sprinkle of freckles and a story that deserves a much happier ending.
Ande is one of 9 innocent puppies dumped at a metro station, through no fault of their own. Just minutes away from being euthanized. These tiny babies deserved a safe place to grow, not to be abandoned. Thankfully, Ande has been given a chance at a better life, and now we're hoping her next chapter leads to a family of her very own. ❤️ Good with cats and kids.

26. Miniature
Puppy (4 months 2 days) · Male · Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat) · 80 mi from Beaumont

10/4/2026 Hi! The shelter computer randomly named me Miniature but I go by Scout because my foster mom says I am so curious about this new world I finally get to explore. I am still a baby but I have met my foster mom's dog and loved her, jumped into the backyard pool because I just couldn't resist checking it out and learned that I absolutely love a frozen, peanut butter filled kong. I went to a neighborhood block party and I was such a good boy! I loved all the adults and kids coming over to pet me while I quietly hung out in my pet stroller. I am still a baby and have to learn all things a baby must learn but my foster mom says I am such a loving and smart boy that I will pick it up in no time at all.

update: 10/29/2026 - I am now16 weeks old and able to go for walks outside on the leash. I love going around the neighborhood! I am full of life and love to have your attention. I happily go into my pen inside because I know I get a small treat each time. I sleep well in it and don’t cry. I have been introduced and share a pen with new foster puppies that have joined my foster mom’s home. I have brought them out of their shell and taught them how to play! I get along with big dogs and know how to ready their cues when they have had enough play. I am ready to be apart of someone’s family and have a permanent place to call my home!

Adopting a dog with children in Beaumont
Bring the whole family to meet the dog before you adopt, and ask the rescue how the dog behaves around children your kids' ages.
Teach children to let the dog come to them, to stroke gently, and to leave the dog alone while it's eating or sleeping. Give the dog a bed or crate of their own to retreat to, and always supervise young children with a new dog.
Relaxed adult dogs are often a better match for young children than puppies, which jump up, nip and chew while they learn.
