1. Josie

Puppy · Female · Chihuahua / Pug (short coat)

Welcome Josie to CCPAL Rescue. Josie is a Chug (Chihuahua/Pug) puppy. She weighs 4 pounds and is 9 weeks old. She will be a small dog full grown. She should be 12 pounds or less. She is very sweet and has an adorable rounded head. She likes to be held, is good in a crate, goes on a wee pad and loves to play with toys. She was born at the Rescue. They took in a stray female and she was pregnant. This means the puppies get lots of attention and are very used to being in a loud and rowdy environment. Josie would be best in a home that the person doesn’t work all day every day. She needs to finish up her puppy training. Social pups make great adults and now is the time for her to spend time with her family and to go places and let people pet her. She is an AMAZING puppy. She would be fine with children. Due to her small size, we would like children to be 8 or older. She is getting her puppy vaccines and will have 3. She will then be ready for spay and adoption. She can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.

Welcome Dudley to CCPAL Rescue. Dudley is a 5- pound Chiweenie. That is Dashchund/Chihuahua. He is 10 weeks old. He has a beautiful fawn and black fade coloration. He looks like Bonnie but he is a little taller and has down ears. He has a little longer legs and body. He is good in a crate, likes to be held. He is learning the wee pad and gets toys and treats from our adopters. He will get grooming and nail trims at the rescue so he will be fine with that. He would be a great dog for a lover of this breed. A smaller yard would be fine. He would be fine in a doggy daycare as he is very social. He was found as a stray. He is getting neutered and all his vaccinations at the Rescue. He is ready for his forever home. He would be best in a home with someone that doesn’t work all day everyday as he will need to finish up his puppy training. He would also be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She would be fine in a doggy daycare as she is very social. Right now, I would say she is very sweet and very cuddly. People who have had this breed love it for the loyalty to their human. 8. Tonka II

Young · Male · Boxer

11/1/2026Tonka II is an owner surrender looking for a new home.Hi! My name is Tonka II! I am a handsome 2 year old brindle boy that is an owner surrender due to my family moving and my breed not being allowed. I am described as friendly, active, noisy, playful, affectionate, and obedient! I currently live with an older lab but am said to be dog friendly with dogs of all sizes. I currently live with cats and because I don't know personal space, they don't want to play with me. I currently live with 3 kids (ages 19 month to 13 years) and am gentle with the baby and like to play rough with the older kids.

Read more about Tonka II

I'm a happy guy and have only met one person I didn't like out of the many people I have been around! I am house trained, crate trained, and can be picky with some of my favorite food depending on the day. At night I sleep with the kid or in the kennel with the other dog. I don't do well sleeping alone and will cry and scratch at the kennel if left by myself to sleep. If the humans must be away, I will cry and bark in the crate and will chew on the furniture if left to roam. When outside I do not attempt to jump fences/gates but am curious what is under the grass and will dig to find out. I am scared of water, baths, being alone, and being left outside too long due to having a heat stroke in the past. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, chewing on toys, playing fetch, toys, being outside, cuddles, love, smiling when I want something, hitting the humans with my paws when I want something, nudge and paw the food container when it's time to eat, being in the human's lap, and dog treats! If you think I would make a great addition to your family, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

9. Rex III

Adult · Male · Boxer

11/2/2026Rex III is an owner surrender looking for a new home.Hi! My name is Rex III! I am a handsome 3 year old white/brown boy that is an owner surrender due to no longer getting along with the other dog that I live with and for everyone's safety, I must be the only dog in the home. I am described as friendly, active, smart, noisy, playful, and affectionate! There are no children or cats in my home so it's uncertain if I am feline or kid friendly. I am house trained, crate trained, and eat High Point All Life Stages dog food in a slow feeder. At night I sleep in the bed with the humans and if they must be away from the home, I am fine being crated or else I will get into things I shouldn't.

I am able to jump over a kiddie gate but not a standard fence. When outside I am curious what is under the grass and will dig to find out. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, plush toys that I can't magically explode, rubber toys, running, going for walks, and playing outside! If you think I would make a great addition to your family, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

10. Lucy Lou II

Young · Female · Boxer

11/2/2026Lucy Lou II is an owner surrender looking for a new home.Hi! My name is Lucy Lou II! I am a beautiful 1 year old flashy fawn girl that is an owner surrender due to my owner being a truck driver and not having the time for me and life on the road is not ideal for me. I am described as friendly, active, smart, noisy, and playful! I do not live with other dogs but it is said that I am dog friendly. I do not live with cats or kids, so it is uncertain if I am cat or kid friendly. I do jump on people because I get very excited so my caretaker says I may not be a good fit for a family with small children.

Read more about Lucy Lou II

I know basic commands, am house trained, but would need assistance with crate training if that is required in my forever home. I eat Healthy Choice puppy food from Tractor Supply and at night I sleep in the bed or recliner with the humans. I do sleep on my dog bed, but that is a very rare occasion. If the humans must be away, I am good but I have never been left alone for more than 2 hours. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. I am fearful of fireworks and do not like being told no, getting too hot, or being crated/locked in confined spaces. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, tire with rope toy, squeaky toys, chewing on plastic bottles, catching water from the hose, sleeping by the humans feet or under the blankets, 'argue' or 'talk back' when I don't' get what I want, playing with dogs my size, and treats! Adult · Male · Boxer

Hi! My name is Pele! I am a handsome 2-3 year old flashy fawn boy that has a super goofy and loveable personality and enjoys life! I love to play fetch, sprint around the backyard, going on walks followed by cuddles and affection, preferably in the human's lap! I have great house manners and do not beg or counter surf. Sometimes if I am bored or not getting sufficient attention, I will bring a random shoe or stuffed animal to the humans but am not destructive. I am house trained, crate trained, and leash trained! I currently live with an older lady dog and we get along well together. While on walks I am not phased by other dogs and have been fine and chill with other pups I've met! There are 3 kids in my foster home (ages 11-16 years) and I am good with them and all of their friends that come to visit! My foster family thinks I would be friendly with younger kids, but might be a bit rambunctious and they might get 'love taps' with my enthusiastic tail! As for cats, I was introduced to a neighbor cat and I was very intent on keeping an eye on it, so I may do best in a cat free home.

I am described as friendly, smart, protective, playful, affectionate, and nervous! It should be mentioned I have some hip dysplasia, TPLO on my rear left leg, and FHO on my right rear leg, but I do not let it slow me down! I do not get along with the other dog in my home but am said to get along with other dogs at doggy daycare and boarding.

I currently live with cats and we are said to get along well! Sometimes we snuggle and I like to playfully chase them off if they drink from my water. I currently live with a 14 year old kid and my owner says I would do best with older kids. When new people come in the home I will bark at them because I am protective of my humans. I am house trained, crate trained, eat Royal Canin Boxer food, and sleep on the couch or human bed at night. If the humans must be away, I have learned to calm myself and will mostly sleep awaiting their arrival. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. When scolded I cower and get very scared so positive reinforcement works great for me! I'm fearful of thunderstorms and I do need anxiety meds when experiencing new things or during stressful situations. I love riding in the car, greenies, bully sticks, belly and neck scratches, following the humans around when cleaning or doing yardwork, and staring at the humans intensely until they give in to what I want! 24. Duke XII

Adult · Male · Boxer

10/17/2026Duke XII is an owner surrender looking for a new home.Hi! My name is Duke XII! I am a handsome 3 year old flashy fawn boy that is an owner surrender due to not getting along with the doodle dog in the home. I am bonded with my brother, Major II, so it is important for us to be adopted together which means double the boxer love for you! I am described as protective, playful, and affectionate! I have never lived with a cat so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly. There are no children in the home but I am said to be kid friendly! I will bark at new people that come to our home, but then I warm up to them after being introduced! I am house trained, crate trained, eat Kirkland brand dog food, and sleep in my kennel at night! If the humans must be away, I am great being left alone.

26. Giorgio

Adult · Male · Boxer

Hi! My name is Giorgio, or as my foster family calls me, George or Georgie! I am a 4 year old flashy brindle boy that will charm you with my one blue eye and small stature! Prior to the rescue I got myself into an unknown situation which resulted in an extensive injury and infection to my front left leg causing it to be amputated. I had 49 staples which all have been removed and the scar is healed nicely! I am able to easily move around in the home with little carpeting or rugs. I am also heartworm positive but the rescue will assist with my treatment! I am house trained, crate trained, sleep on the dog bed in the human's room, eat dry or wet food because I'll eat pretty much anything edible, and am well behaved when being left alone if the humans are away.

I live with a pit/boxer submissive girl and we get along well. A much larger girl dog stayed with us for a week and at the beginning I was scared and it took me a couple of days of slow intros to be comfortable around her and not growl at her. I will grumble at new people that enter the home but keep my distance until I warm up to them. I do not live with a cat so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly. I live with 3 teenagers and love them all, especially when they give me attention and affection! I have met young school age or late toddler aged kids during my neighborhood walk and am gentle with them and enjoy them loving on me! Given the multiple vet appointments I have had you would think I'd be ok in the car but I'm not. I get nervous and prefer someone to sit with me and comfort me. As for my ideal home, there are a couple of requests. I need a home with no stairs or if there are stairs, it's to an area that is not used by anyone so that I do not go up them. I also need a raised feeder to help me not have to lean over so much and misdistribute weight on only one front leg. In the raised feeder I would benefit from a slow feeder bowl because I put away food in no time! I have learned the sound of the treat jar opening, have found my voice, and enjoy moving shoes randomly in the home! Some of my favorite things are getting attention & affection, being outside to roll in the grass, food, treats, and following the humans to know what they are doing! If you think I would make a great addition to your family, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you! 28. Blanca

Adult · Female · Rat Terrier (short coat)

Welcome Blanca to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 2 year old Rat Terrier mix. She came in from a hoarding situation. We received 3 dogs from this case. One was adopted already and one had to go to a specialized trainer in another Rescue. Blanca has started opening up and allowing people to pet her and hold her. She never got any attention in her original home, the hoarder. She is good with other dogs and causes no issues. She is kennel trained and her response to being afraid is to run and hide. She is a timid girl and not the social butterfly. She would be perfect with a person that is more introverted and wants a pet that is also similar. Blanca would be satisfied being at home with you all the time. A small walk in the yard would be fine. She until now, has not walked on leash. She is learning to do it at our Rescue. She would like a patient owner and a quieter home. An older couple or older single person would be great. Someone with a quieter home. She would be fine kenneled away if you had a party or people over. She is not very vocal and prefers to blend into the woodwork. She is really a great dog for the right family. She is getting her vaccinations, nail trims and will be spayed soon and ready for her forever home. She could be adopted locally in Texas or we could work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. . Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.

Heartworm preventative is now recommended by Veterinarians in almost all areas of the US, and most are recommending year-round use. If your Vet recommends heartworm testing and consistent use of heartworm preventative medication we will verify to ensure your Vet records show heartworm testing completed and preventative purchased. For dogs currently in an applicant’s home, you should have a history of providing this care for at least the past year. If there are no dogs currently in the home we will check prior vet references and verify heartworm testing and use of preventative for dogs previously in the home. The purchase of heartworm preventative requires a prescription and prior purchases, if applicable, will be verified during the vet reference portion of our application process. If the applicant's vet clinic recommends heartworm preventative but it is purchased elsewhere, we ask applicants to provide proof of the prior purchases. Adopting a dog in Blanco County

Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.

Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.

Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
