1. Smoky Bear

Adult (7 years 6 months) · Male · Dachshund / Terrier / Mixed (medium coat) · 24 mi from Liberty

Smoky Bear is a new arrival to CTDR after being found running the streets in Austin. The finder took him home in hopes of finding his owners but to no avail. CTDR was contacted to see if we had room for this handsome boy and of course, we said yes. Smoky has started his vetting process but sadly he tested positive for those nasty heartworms and will have to undergo heartworm treatment before being adopted along with needing an extensive dental. Please look for updates on this handsome boy.

3. Gigi Grace

Young (5 years) · Female · Dachshund / Cavalier King Charles Spaniel / Mixed (long coat) · 24 mi from Liberty

Gigi Grace--or Grace, as we call her--can be calm and is always affectionate, once she gets to know you. She is my shadow. She follows me everywhere, and when I sit down, she jumps in my lap. She loves to nap curled up next to me. If she's not on my lap, she is on the floor right next to me. However, she is also very playful, especially lately, since she is now used to us and fully recovered from her surgery (spaying). After breakfast, she likes to play with our other dachshund. She also has a particular toy that she likes. She will shake it and run around with it and play tug-of-war with me. She LOVES to run around the yard.

Read more about Gigi Grace

She tries to get the collie to chase her, and she loves to chase the ball. Grace is pretty much house trained. The only time she's had accidents is when we leave the house for a few hours. I am working on getting her to use the pee pad during those times. It's going well, but she's not 100% perfect yet. Grace does not seem to have any separation anxiety, but she has two other dogs here to hang around with when we're gone. No destructive behaviors (like chewing); no excessive barking. The only time she barks is when someone comes to the house. She is good on the leash and in the car. We have really loved having her with us. She has been really easy to take care of.

Ace is a bundle of fun and a true friend in the making! This playful young man is always up for an adventure and has a spring in his step that will keep you smiling. With a clever mind and an even friendlier nature, he is the perfect companion for anyone looking for a loyal and loving pal. Ace is eager to explore the world and is ready to say hello to everyone he meets. He might be a bit unsure about other dogs, but with his playful attitude, he is sure to get along with any furry friends he meets along the way. Ace is the perfect name for this cool customer, as he is an ace-in-the-hole find and a real winner!

Read more about Ace

He's just a puppy and can get into a lot of trouble so you'll need to be willing to give him lots of gentle guidance, so he can learn all those big dog things, like how to behave in a house, what a crate is for, how to walk on a leash without pulling, and all those verbal commands every dog should know. He may even treat people with rough play or decide that a new pair of shoes or a table leg would make a great chew toy, so a lot of appropriate toys should be in his future. The good news is that with the right training and LOTS of love, he'll be the best addition to your family ever and your best bud.

13. Gypsy

Puppy (6 months) · Female · Catahoula Leopard Dog / Shepherd / Mixed (short coat) · 40 mi from Liberty

Gypsy and her sister Stormi were dumped in a hay field with their mom and had no food, water or shelter. We estimate her birth date to be early April 2026 and think she is a mix of Shepherd, lab, boxer and maybe Catahoula Leopard Dog with an estimated adult weight of 45 to 47 lbs. She is mostly house trained and uses a doggy door when she needs to go potty. She has a sweet/silly personality, loves and is kissy on people, cats, and other dogs. When not playing, her calm side comes alive. She likes to watch TV or lay upside down on the couch nearby when you on a computer or reading or with her dog friends and cats. She especially likes to watch you cook (she is very food oriented). She is attentive to her family, bonds easily and is making great progress on her leash and obedience training learning all the commands a puppy needs to know. She does great in a car but has gotten car sick on rare occasions. She loves to play with toys, collect them in her bed and chew on chewies (lots of them). She especially likes her squeaky toys, sucks on her favorite, will carry them around gently and then decide it's time to shred them so you will need to keep few spares available for a while. Gypsy will need an active family and/or doggy playmate. She's also looking for a loving home with a yard big enough that she can run and play and that is secured with a 6ft wooden fence which is not near a busy street. The good news is that with the right training and LOTS of love, she will be the best addition to your family ever and your best bud, ready to go when you are.

If you are looking for a loving, steady companion with fantastic genetics and a sweet disposition, Heath is ready to bring a lifetime of devotion to your home.
