I am a six-month-old Australian Cattle Dog and am looking for a family that can help me navigate this big world. I am still a little nervous with new sounds and things, but after the initial shock of new sights, I leap headfirst with excitement. I am learning quickly what I can and can't rush into. For example, I know I can't rush at the cat, and now we are nice playful pals, but I can rush towards the ball and play fetch! I am really fast in the backyard and love to run around with other dogs. I also love the support of humans as I learn so many new things!
I am learning some basics, like leash training, sit, off, and come. I definitely need to keep learning because I get pets and treats when I do. It also helps me use up energy and use my mind, which is important for me since I have a lot of energy and am pretty smart. I really like other dogs, but since this is all new to me, I need my own space for my toys and food at home. I love my kennel and only bark in there if I need to alert people to a frightening presence, like the mailman. I would do well as an only dog or with others, or even with a dog-savvy cat! Although I am a puppy and like to hop around, I am still a softy at heart and would do well with kids.

I have figured out the routine here in my foster home and I sleep quietly through the night in my kennel. I love playing with the other dogs and I am even learning to play with toys but my favorite is chewing on the bones.

Foster Mom says I like to talk to you as well, and why not? I have a lot to say. When I watch TV I tilt my head from side to side trying to figure out the plot of the show. I’m also a pretty independent guy. I don’t need to be carried around like a baby all day—I have stuff to DO! But once I’ve gotten all my wiggles out and completed my regularly scheduled puppy shenanigans, I’m perfectly happy to snuggle with my people. Yes, I contain multitudes.
I’m doing pretty well with my puppy skills, too! I know how to use a dog door, and I’m still working on this whole potty-training thing. I mean, I’m only 5 months old. Give a guy a chance! I also sleep quietly through the entire night in my crate, because even professional zoomie experts need their beauty sleep.
I think I’d really like having another dog sibling in my forever home. Someone who enjoys playing, wrestling, chasing, and generally being adorable would be pretty awesome. Bonus points if they’re willing to teach me some of their best tricks!

Mighty Mike is one of the brave dogs we rescued from the devastating Texas floods, and now he needs YOU. When Mike first arrived, he was absolutely terrified. So after two adoption attempts, my foster mom and I have stopped pretending I’m looking for the average family. I’m not. I’m looking for my weirdly specific perfect person.
My dream setup?

Why the dog door? At my foster home, where I have other dogs and access to a dog door, I’ve done great with potty training. In both adoptive homes, however, I had some pee accidents. My foster mom suspects having other dogs to follow and the freedom to take myself outside makes a big difference for me.
Basically, I need someone who isn’t looking at this bio thinking, “Oh, he’ll get used to my husband, three kids, Grandma, and the neighborhood book club.”
