1. Sugar

Adult · Female · Chihuahua / Pug / Mixed · 23 mi from Herriman

Meet Sugar! Sugar is an 8-year-old Pug/Chihuahua mix weighing about 25 pounds, and she's a little sweetheart who just needs someone willing to let her blossom at her own pace. Sugar is a shy girl who takes time to warm up to new people, but once she feels safe, she'll become your little shadow and a loyal companion.Sugar is happiest lounging on the couch with her favorite people. She's a low-energy girl who doesn't ask for much beyond a cozy spot, some companionship, and plenty of snuggles. She's also a very well-mannered houseguest, house-trained, and crate-trained (although she'd much rather be out enjoying your company!).Sugar gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is also fine with cats, whom she mostly ignores.

Read more about Sugar

She can be startled by unfamiliar noises and may bark at visitors, but she'll generally keep her distance until she feels comfortable. Because of her timid nature, a home with young children probably isn't the best fit.One thing to know about Sugar is that the outside world can be intimidating. She's nervous on a leash and will need a patient adopter willing to help her build confidence through gentle, positive experiences. She's treat-motivated, which should help with continued training and encouragement.Sugar has had a big change in her life after spending four years in a home, and she's understandably feeling a little uncertain. But even when she's scared, she continues to show that she wants to trust people. Once she does, you'll discover her adorable little prance when she's excited and her sweet habit of gently reaching out with a paw when you stop petting her, as if to say, "Excuse me, I'm not finished!"Sugar is looking for a quiet, mellow home with a patient person who understands that love and trust sometimes take a little time. In return, she'll give you a devoted little shadow and a whole lot of love. ❤️Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. 3. Tobleroni

Young (8 months) · Male · Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Herriman

Who has four legs, one floppy ear, spots, and is ready to leap into your arms - I mean home? It's me, Tobleroni!

Read more about Tobleroni

I am a six-month-old Australian Cattle Dog and am looking for a family that can help me navigate this big world. I am still a little nervous with new sounds and things, but after the initial shock of new sights, I leap headfirst with excitement. I am learning quickly what I can and can't rush into. For example, I know I can't rush at the cat, and now we are nice playful pals, but I can rush towards the ball and play fetch! I am really fast in the backyard and love to run around with other dogs. I also love the support of humans as I learn so many new things!

I am learning some basics, like leash training, sit, off, and come. I definitely need to keep learning because I get pets and treats when I do. It also helps me use up energy and use my mind, which is important for me since I have a lot of energy and am pretty smart. I really like other dogs, but since this is all new to me, I need my own space for my toys and food at home. I love my kennel and only bark in there if I need to alert people to a frightening presence, like the mailman. I would do well as an only dog or with others, or even with a dog-savvy cat! Although I am a puppy and like to hop around, I am still a softy at heart and would do well with kids.

I can't wait to meet you! Apply today.

10. Fledermaus

Adult · Male · French Bulldog · 23 mi from Herriman

Meet Fledermaus! A Little Frenchie with a Big Presence ❤️Fledermaus is a 4.5-year-old, 19-pound French Bulldog with a sweet personality, a funny little face, and a whole lot of love to give. He enjoys naps, treats, leisurely strolls around the yard, and rubbing up against his favorite people for affection. He also has a way of staring right into your soul that is equal parts hilarious and adorable!Fledermaus is looking for a special home with someone who understands that, like many French Bulldogs, he has some ongoing health needs. He takes daily medications, eats prescription food, and requires regular veterinary care to keep him comfortable and healthy.

Read more about Fledermaus

His adopter should be prepared for continued vet visits, consistent daily care, and the possibility that his needs may change over time.Fledermaus has had surgery to open his nasal passages but remains prone to sinus infections. He also has urinary crystals that require lifelong prescription food and monitoring, an enlarged heart managed with daily medication, and chronic eye problems that require daily eye drops. He has some vision loss, along with a head tilt and occasional moments of seeming to space out that may indicate a neurological issue. His future family will need to stay on top of his care and work with their veterinarian to address any new concerns.Personality-wise, Fledermaus is a pretty easygoing little dude. He warms up quickly to people but generally prefers to observe new visitors rather than make a big fuss. He's quiet, does well in a crate, rides nicely in the car, and enjoys a low-key lifestyle. Walks are leisurely affairs, and sometimes he decides he'd rather not go any farther! House training has been a challenge, so his adopter will need patience and a plan for helping him with consistent potty routines. He generally gets along well with other dogs. Sometimes he'll engage in a little wrestling session, but most of the time he's happy to do his own thing. He could live with other dogs or be an only pet. He would ignore cats, too. Fledermaus gets overly excited about treats and may bite when trying to grab food from people's hands, even when no treat is present. For this reason, he is not recommended for a home with children.Fledermaus would thrive in a calm, predictable home with an adopter who has experience with dogs requiring medical care and in particular, brachycephalic dogs and is prepared to manage his ongoing medical care. He needs someone who will keep up with his daily treatments, recognize when something seems off, and make his comfort and well-being a priority. In return, you'll get a funny, affectionate little companion who loves being near his people, enjoys the simple things in life, and will happily make you laugh with his expressions and quirky noises.Fledermaus isn't asking for a perfect home. He's asking for a committed one. If you have the experience, patience, and resources to give this special little Frenchie the care he needs, he may be the perfect match for you!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. 12. Blaise

Adult (1 year) · Male · Terrier / Mixed (medium coat) · 17 mi from Herriman

LET THE HOLIDAYS BEGIN!

Hi everyone, my name is Blaise and I am so excited to introduce myself to you!

Halloween is just a few days away and that kicks off the Holiday Season for the next

couple of months. My wish is to find my forever family so we can spend the holidays getting

to know each other and settle into my new life. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I am a 10 to 12 months old (best guess) male terrier mix and I weigh in at about 10 pounds.

My foster Mom thinks I may be Westie (West Highland) terrier mix but regardless of what

kind of mix I am how can you not love my cute little expressive face and those ears? My

hair is pretty soft and I am getting used to being brushed. I am working really hard on my

house training and doing very well if kept on a schedule so a family that will continue my training will help me to be the bestest boy I can be. I have not been around kids yet, but I have never meet a stranger. Kids over 10 would be fine! I have figured out the routine here in my foster home and I sleep quietly through the night in my kennel. I love playing with the other dogs and I am even learning to play with toys but my favorite is chewing on the bones.

I am so happy that I even smile, that's right a big cheesy grin! The first time I smiled at foster Mom she thought I was snarling but nope, it is a real smile! Foster Mom says I like to talk to you as well, and why not? I have a lot to say. When I watch TV I tilt my head from side to side trying to figure out the plot of the show. I am pretty smart if I do say so myself so if you are looking for a quick study that is loyal as can be I may be the man for the job.

Aegon loves wrestling with his furry friends, but his favorite activity is snuggling up with anyone willing to give him some love. He’s a little smaller than his siblings and is estimated to weigh around 50 pounds when fully grown.

Meet Luella

Beautiful brown and black female with a big personality!

Luella is our playful little explorer who wants to be right in the middle of all the action! She loves exploring her surroundings, wrestling with her furry friends, and keeping everyone entertained. She’s one of the bigger puppies in the litter and is estimated to weigh around 50–65 pounds when fully grown.

What You Should Know About Both Pups:

12 weeks old

Australian Shepherd mixes (possibly Lab, too!)

Have been around children of all ages

Have experience living around other dogs and cats

Kennel trained and potty trained

Learning to use the dog door

Working hard on leash training

Know sit and come and are learning shake

A Note About Cats: Aegon may do well in a home with a cat with proper introductions and supervision. Luella, on the other hand, is a little too interested in feline friends right now, so a cat-free home would be the safer choice for her unless her behavior can be reliably managed.

These sweet babies are smart, playful, affectionate, and already making great progress with their training. They’re ready to find families who will continue helping them grow into amazing lifelong companions!

20. Tinny

Puppy (2 months 8 days) · Male · Australian Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat) · 17 mi from Herriman

G’day! I'm Tinny, here to skite about how cute and perfect I am ;)

I'm an (almost) 10 week old aussie x pup! Ma was an aussie doodle, our Da is a mystery…but appears to have been an aussie. So I'm a bit doodley, but also shed a bit as I’ve got far more aussie than doodle in my DNA

I'm a tiny bub right now, but should end up 40-50lbs when I'm grown.

I do have that typical Australian Shepherd energy! I love to run and play and will need plenty of exercise and adventure! I'm not going off like a frog in a sock quite yet – but I'n definitely an active kiddo.

I do have herding instincts! I love to chase and nip, so I'm looking for human kids over about 10 – tho dog savvy (herding breed savvy!) kids can always be an exception.

I'm lookin for a familiy who will love me, play with me, train me and adore me for life. If you think that could be you, good on ya! apply to meet me today at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

25. Cremini

Puppy (4 months 12 days) · Male · Miniature Pinscher / Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Herriman

Hi, I'm Cremini! And Yes, I'm Adorable. You're Welcome.

Hi! My name is Cremini, and I’m a 5-month-old Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix. I currently weigh about 10 pounds, but I’m working on becoming a very impressive 15–20 pounds of pure awesomeness.

I should probably warn you right away: I have ENERGY. Like… a lot of it. I have places to go, things to investigate, toys to play with, and important puppy business to attend to! I’m pretty sure my foster mom has considered installing a speedometer on me.

Read more about Cremini

I’m also a pretty independent guy. I don’t need to be carried around like a baby all day—I have stuff to DO! But once I’ve gotten all my wiggles out and completed my regularly scheduled puppy shenanigans, I’m perfectly happy to snuggle with my people. Yes, I contain multitudes.

I’m doing pretty well with my puppy skills, too! I know how to use a dog door, and I’m still working on this whole potty-training thing. I mean, I’m only 5 months old. Give a guy a chance! I also sleep quietly through the entire night in my crate, because even professional zoomie experts need their beauty sleep.

I think I’d really like having another dog sibling in my forever home. Someone who enjoys playing, wrestling, chasing, and generally being adorable would be pretty awesome. Bonus points if they’re willing to teach me some of their best tricks!

So, if you’re looking for a little guy who is fun, playful, independent, snuggly, and just the right amount of ridiculous, I might be your guy. I promise to keep you entertained, keep you moving, and eventually—when I’m completely exhausted—let you cuddle me. But only after the zoomies. Obviously. Love, Cremini CEO of Zoomies & Part-Time Cuddlebug

26. Symon

Young (9 months) · Male · Dachshund / Chihuahua / Mixed (medium coat) · 17 mi from Herriman

Hi. It’s me. Symon.

I’m a 10-month-old, 10-pound Chihuahua, and apparently I am currently accepting applications for my third adoptive home. ♀️

Before you judge me, I’d like to point out that I am VERY good at relationships.
I just prefer them one person at a time.

Here’s the deal: I pick a person. Usually it’s a woman, although I reserve the right to surprise everyone. Once I choose you, congratulations! You are now MY PERSON. I will love you, adore you, follow you around, and basically make you the center of my tiny Chihuahua universe.

Everyone else?

✨ Absolutely not. ✨

Read more about Symon

Did they walk into the room? Suspicious.
Did they shift positions on the couch? Rude.
Did they have the audacity to make a noise somewhere in MY house?

INTRUDER ALERT. INTRUDER ALERT.

Yes, I will bark. Yes, I may growl. Yes, I am only 10 pounds. No, that information does not affect my confidence whatsoever.

So after two adoption attempts, my foster mom and I have stopped pretending I’m looking for the average family. I’m not. I’m looking for my weirdly specific perfect person.

My dream setup?

A single-person household—a woman would probably be my best match
At least one other dog, because I actually do really well living with canine roommates
A dog door would be AMAZING

Why the dog door? At my foster home, where I have other dogs and access to a dog door, I’ve done great with potty training. In both adoptive homes, however, I had some pee accidents. My foster mom suspects having other dogs to follow and the freedom to take myself outside makes a big difference for me.

Basically, I need someone who isn’t looking at this bio thinking, “Oh, he’ll get used to my husband, three kids, Grandma, and the neighborhood book club.”

Ma’am.
I will not.

I’m not a social butterfly. I’m more of a social barnacle. I would like to attach myself to ONE chosen human and spend the rest of my life being ridiculously devoted to her while maintaining serious concerns about everyone else’s activities.

I’ve been returned twice because the homes weren’t the right fit. So this time, we’re not looking for a home.
We’re looking for MY home.

If you’re a woman living alone, already have a dog or two, have a dog door, and have ever thought, “You know what my life is missing? A tiny, emotionally codependent security system,”…

HELLO. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU. ❤️
Love,
Symon

P.S. If you live alone and hear a strange noise at 2 a.m., don’t worry. I heard it first. I have already filed a complaint.

Bringing a dog home to your cat

Tell the rescue about your cat: their age and how they react to dogs. A dog who has lived calmly with one cat may still want to chase a cat that runs.

Introduce them slowly. Keep them apart for the first few days and swap bedding so they get used to each other's scent, then let them meet with the dog on a leash, rewarding calm behavior.

Make sure the cat can always get somewhere the dog can't reach, like a high shelf or a room behind a baby gate, and keep the litter box and cat food out of the dog's way.
