Meet Osa, a lovable 8-month-old Irish Doodle weighing in at about 50 lbs! This curious, happy-go-lucky boy approaches the world with an open heart and a wagging tail, eager to explore every new sight, sound, and smell. Osa is wonderfully resilient, bouncing back from new experiences with an easygoing confidence that makes him a joy to be around. He is already a total pro on a leash, making daily walks a breeze, and we are making great progress on house-training and crate training with him. Osa adores other dogs and would truly thrive in a home with a canine buddy to play and wrestle with. He has also been exposed to cats and is learning to respect their boundaries, so a patient feline friend could be a possibility with continued guidance.

Because he is still a big, bouncy puppy, he would do best with kids over the age of 5 who are sturdy enough not to be easily knocked over by his enthusiasm. Osa does have some separation anxiety, so he is looking for attentive owners who can help him build confidence when he is on his own. A furry sibling for company, a consistent routine, and plenty of patience will go a long way in helping him feel safe and secure. As a young dog, Osa will flourish with continued positive training and lots of love. If you are looking for a curious, cuddly, and resilient pup to grow alongside your family, Osa is ready to meet you and steal your heart!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Adult · Female · Chihuahua / Pug / Mixed

Meet Sugar! Sugar is an 8-year-old Pug/Chihuahua mix weighing about 25 pounds, and she's a little sweetheart who just needs someone willing to let her blossom at her own pace. Sugar is a shy girl who takes time to warm up to new people, but once she feels safe, she'll become your little shadow and a loyal companion.Sugar is happiest lounging on the couch with her favorite people. She's a low-energy girl who doesn't ask for much beyond a cozy spot, some companionship, and plenty of snuggles. She can be startled by unfamiliar noises and may bark at visitors, but she'll generally keep her distance until she feels comfortable. Because of her timid nature, a home with young children probably isn't the best fit.One thing to know about Sugar is that the outside world can be intimidating. But even when she's scared, she continues to show that she wants to trust people. Once she does, you'll discover her adorable little prance when she's excited and her sweet habit of gently reaching out with a paw when you stop petting her, as if to say, "Excuse me, I'm not finished!"Sugar is looking for a quiet, mellow home with a patient person who understands that love and trust sometimes take a little time. In return, she'll give you a devoted little shadow and a whole lot of love. ❤️Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. 7. Ripley
Puppy (3 months 28 days) · Female · Great Pyrenees / Husky (medium coat)

When we saw this sweet girl being rehomed on FB as a Husky, we knew we could see Pyr in her too and wanted to get her into rescue where she'd find a forever home. Little did we know then that she's already seen at least 3 other homes.
Ripley has moved so much already that she hasn't had anyone work with her on just the basics. So now that she's in a foster home we can start that! House training and basic manners are a work in progress.
She has had no shots so leashed walks have to wait. She is full of energy though like all puppies are and would likely really love another dog to play with.

Ripley is incredibly sweet and loves people. She is being fostered in Utah.

11. Tobleroni
Young (8 months) · Male · Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat)

Who has four legs, one floppy ear, spots, and is ready to leap into your arms - I mean home? It's me, Tobleroni!
Read more about Tobleroni
I am a six-month-old Australian Cattle Dog and am looking for a family that can help me navigate this big world. I am still a little nervous with new sounds and things, but after the initial shock of new sights, I leap headfirst with excitement. I am learning quickly what I can and can't rush into. For example, I know I can't rush at the cat, and now we are nice playful pals, but I can rush towards the ball and play fetch! I am really fast in the backyard and love to run around with other dogs. I also love the support of humans as I learn so many new things!
I am learning some basics, like leash training, sit, off, and come. I definitely need to keep learning because I get pets and treats when I do. It also helps me use up energy and use my mind, which is important for me since I have a lot of energy and am pretty smart. I really like other dogs, but since this is all new to me, I need my own space for my toys and food at home. I love my kennel and only bark in there if I need to alert people to a frightening presence, like the mailman. I would do well as an only dog or with others, or even with a dog-savvy cat! Although I am a puppy and like to hop around, I am still a softy at heart and would do well with kids.
I can't wait to meet you! Apply today.

20. Fledermaus
Adult · Male · French Bulldog

Meet Fledermaus! A Little Frenchie with a Big Presence ❤️Fledermaus is a 4.5-year-old, 19-pound French Bulldog with a sweet personality, a funny little face, and a whole lot of love to give. He enjoys naps, treats, leisurely strolls around the yard, and rubbing up against his favorite people for affection. He also has a way of staring right into your soul that is equal parts hilarious and adorable!Fledermaus is looking for a special home with someone who understands that, like many French Bulldogs, he has some ongoing health needs. He takes daily medications, eats prescription food, and requires regular veterinary care to keep him comfortable and healthy.
Read more about Fledermaus
His adopter should be prepared for continued vet visits, consistent daily care, and the possibility that his needs may change over time.Fledermaus has had surgery to open his nasal passages but remains prone to sinus infections. He also has urinary crystals that require lifelong prescription food and monitoring, an enlarged heart managed with daily medication, and chronic eye problems that require daily eye drops. He has some vision loss, along with a head tilt and occasional moments of seeming to space out that may indicate a neurological issue. His future family will need to stay on top of his care and work with their veterinarian to address any new concerns.Personality-wise, Fledermaus is a pretty easygoing little dude. He warms up quickly to people but generally prefers to observe new visitors rather than make a big fuss. He's quiet, does well in a crate, rides nicely in the car, and enjoys a low-key lifestyle. Walks are leisurely affairs, and sometimes he decides he'd rather not go any farther! House training has been a challenge, so his adopter will need patience and a plan for helping him with consistent potty routines. He generally gets along well with other dogs. Sometimes he'll engage in a little wrestling session, but most of the time he's happy to do his own thing. He could live with other dogs or be an only pet. He would ignore cats, too. Fledermaus gets overly excited about treats and may bite when trying to grab food from people's hands, even when no treat is present. For this reason, he is not recommended for a home with children.Fledermaus would thrive in a calm, predictable home with an adopter who has experience with dogs requiring medical care and in particular, brachycephalic dogs and is prepared to manage his ongoing medical care. He needs someone who will keep up with his daily treatments, recognize when something seems off, and make his comfort and well-being a priority. In return, you'll get a funny, affectionate little companion who loves being near his people, enjoys the simple things in life, and will happily make you laugh with his expressions and quirky noises.Fledermaus isn't asking for a perfect home. He's asking for a committed one. If you have the experience, patience, and resources to give this special little Frenchie the care he needs, he may be the perfect match for you!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. 21. Bella
Puppy · Female · Australian Shepherd / Mixed

Meet Bella! ❤️Bella is a 18-week-old Australian Shepherd/working breed mix who currently weighs 25 lbs. She’ll likely be a medium-sized dog, around 35–40 lbs when full grown, though that’s just an estimate. She’s a sweet, energetic puppy who loves everyone she meets and is always ready for pets, playtime, and cuddles. Just be prepared for a little kitchen helper who may try to put her paws on the counters!Bella would love a home with another playful dog or a family ready to keep her busy with plenty of activities, exercise, and mental stimulation. She enjoys playing with dogs her size but can feel intimidated by bigger dogs.

A fenced yard would be ideal, though apartment life could work with consistent leash training and enough exercise. She’s still building her confidence and learning the ropes of being a dog. When something feels new or scary, she likes to tuck herself between your legs for reassurance. She’s learning to walk on a leash and becoming more independent as she gains confidence. With patience, positive reinforcement, and continued training, she has the potential to become a wonderful adventure buddy!Like any puppy, Bella is still working on her manners. She’s nearly through the teething stage and needs guidance toward appropriate chew toys instead of people. She enjoys both soft and hard things to chew, and she’s recently discovered how fun balls can be! She’s even learning to bring them back. The good news? Bella is picking up house training quickly and is already about 98% there! She may still have an occasional accident if left unsupervised too long, so she’ll need frequent potty breaks and supervision as she continues learning. She does well in her crate when you leave the house and will sleep in it through the night, letting you know if she needs to go outside. Of course, she’d much rather snuggle up with you, even if that means sleeping right on top of you at first!Bella is a bit of a Velcro puppy who loves being close to her people, but she’s also learning to explore the world on her own. She has the perfect combination of playful energy and serious snuggle-bug potential. Her experience with children is unknown.Bella is looking for someone who will help her grow into the confident, well-mannered dog she’s meant to be. With love, training, and a little patience, this sweet girl could become your favorite hiking buddy, playmate, and couch companion. She’s ready to love hard, play hard, and find her very own soul person! ❤️Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. 24. Hollis
Adult (6 years 1 month) · Male · Chihuahua (short coat)

Hi world, meet Hollis!
The sweetest 5-year-old male Chihuahua mix.
We're not sure what the first five years of Hollis' life were like, but it's clear they weren't easy. He came to us skin and bones, afraid of human touch and scared of just about everything.
So, we got to work on socializing him! We're happy to say that, even though Hollis is still cautious and will likely always be a bit of a scaredy-cat, he's doing SO well! He gets along great with dogs, cats, chickens, and goats. He even tries to initiate play with other dogs!
Read more about Hollis
Hollis bonds HARD with his human and will happily be your little shadow wherever you go. He loves sleeping under the covers at your feet, curling up in your lap, or lounging on the back of the couch while keeping an eye on the neighborhood.
He's crate-trained, potty-trained on a schedule, and has excellent house manners. He's full grown at about 12lbs, but his goal weight is more like 15.
Hollis is a fairly quiet boy, but get the pitch just right, and he'll happily howl along with music or squeaky toys!
It's been such a joy watching this sweet boy come out of his shell and flourish. And now that he's blossoming, it's time for him to find his special people!
If you have a little patience and a whole lot of love to give, apply to meet Hollis! I promise, you're going to love him!

re you looking for a new best friend? Hi, I'm Mabel May!
I'm a 9 month old pitbull mix and I weigh about 40 lbs. I am a goofy puppy at heart, and I love to play! I play with my friends, fetch in the yard, and love to run around squeaking my toys.
I’m pretty good on leash, just still learning. I’m a great listener and very food motivated too, learning more and more tricks every day! I’ll sleep in my kennel and go in when you ask, just working on my FOMO when you’re doing fun things in the house without me. I haven't met a lot of kids, but I think I'd do well with them.

Adult (1 year) · Male · Terrier / Mixed (medium coat)

LET THE HOLIDAYS BEGIN!
Hi everyone, my name is Blaise and I am so excited to introduce myself to you!
Halloween is just a few days away and that kicks off the Holiday Season for the next
couple of months. My wish is to find my forever family so we can spend the holidays getting
to know each other and settle into my new life. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I am a 10 to 12 months old (best guess) male terrier mix and I weigh in at about 10 pounds.
My foster Mom thinks I may be Westie (West Highland) terrier mix but regardless of what
kind of mix I am how can you not love my cute little expressive face and those ears? My

hair is pretty soft and I am getting used to being brushed. I am working really hard on my
house training and doing very well if kept on a schedule so a family that will continue my training will help me to be the bestest boy I can be. I have not been around kids yet, but I have never meet a stranger. Kids over 10 would be fine! I have figured out the routine here in my foster home and I sleep quietly through the night in my kennel. I love playing with the other dogs and I am even learning to play with toys but my favorite is chewing on the bones.
I am so happy that I even smile, that's right a big cheesy grin! The first time I smiled at foster Mom she thought I was snarling but nope, it is a real smile! Foster Mom says I like to talk to you as well, and why not? I have a lot to say. When I watch TV I tilt my head from side to side trying to figure out the plot of the show. I am pretty smart if I do say so myself so if you are looking for a quick study that is loyal as can be I may be the man for the job.

Adopting a dog in Morgan County
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the dog, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your dog in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior dogs are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate dog, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Puppies go quickly, so if you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon. Ask how big they're expected to grow, and plan for plenty of house-training and training in the first few months.
