1. Osa
Young · Male · Irish Setter / Poodle (unknown type) / Mixed · 30 mi from Ogden

Meet Osa, a lovable 8-month-old Irish Doodle weighing in at about 50 lbs! This curious, happy-go-lucky boy approaches the world with an open heart and a wagging tail, eager to explore every new sight, sound, and smell. Osa is wonderfully resilient, bouncing back from new experiences with an easygoing confidence that makes him a joy to be around. He is already a total pro on a leash, making daily walks a breeze, and we are making great progress on house-training and crate training with him. Osa adores other dogs and would truly thrive in a home with a canine buddy to play and wrestle with. He has also been exposed to cats and is learning to respect their boundaries, so a patient feline friend could be a possibility with continued guidance.

Because he is still a big, bouncy puppy, he would do best with kids over the age of 5 who are sturdy enough not to be easily knocked over by his enthusiasm. Osa does have some separation anxiety, so he is looking for attentive owners who can help him build confidence when he is on his own. A furry sibling for company, a consistent routine, and plenty of patience will go a long way in helping him feel safe and secure. As a young dog, Osa will flourish with continued positive training and lots of love. If you are looking for a curious, cuddly, and resilient pup to grow alongside your family, Osa is ready to meet you and steal your heart!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. 3. Ripley
Puppy (3 months 28 days) · Female · Great Pyrenees / Husky (medium coat) · 26 mi from Ogden

When we saw this sweet girl being rehomed on FB as a Husky, we knew we could see Pyr in her too and wanted to get her into rescue where she'd find a forever home. Little did we know then that she's already seen at least 3 other homes.
Ripley has moved so much already that she hasn't had anyone work with her on just the basics. So now that she's in a foster home we can start that! House training and basic manners are a work in progress.
She has had no shots so leashed walks have to wait. She is full of energy though like all puppies are and would likely really love another dog to play with.

Ripley is incredibly sweet and loves people. She is being fostered in Utah.

And before you scroll past me because of my age, HOLD ON! Don’t let my age fool you! I still have SO much love to give! I may be a little more mature than those crazy puppies, but I’ve still got plenty of life, love, and fun left in me!

5. Tally
Young (5 months 17 days) · Female · Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat) · 49 mi from Ogden

Hi! My name is Tally! I’m a 5-month-old, 25 lb, lab mix baby girl! I’m hefty, hefty, hefty and also “OH SO LOVING!” I was built to last! You wanna run? I got you! You wanna snuggle? I’m on my way! You wanna eat lots of food together? DONE!
Read more about Tally
I’m pretty awesome around other dogs! I’m still a puppy, so I throw my weight around like I’m tiny—even though I’m built a little more like a furry paperweight. My foster mom calls me “dense.” I prefer “sturdy,” but apparently she has the dictionary on her side. I’ve had four foster brothers, and I held my own with every one of them while having LOTS of fun! My favorite buddy is a 50 lb black lab, and together we rumble, tumble, and occasionally forget where one dog ends and the other begins! I LOVE TOYS! ALL TOYS!
You know how some humans go to the bathroom in herds? That’s me! I will only go #2 in the grass if I have moral support. You don’t have to stand next to me (don’t make it weird…) but I like the bathroom “pack” mentality. I got your back, and you got mine! I’m not needy, I’m cautious during vulnerability.
Listen, I’m smart, but I’ve got a lot on my tiny plate right now—and I’m still learning how to eat off an actual plate. I’m adjusting to life behind metal bars (apparently it’s called a “crate,” not “puppy jail”), discovering that food belongs in a bowl, learning that the floor is not a bathroom, and losing teeth like it’s my part-time job. A girl can only handle so much personal growth at once… and yet, I’m still as happy as can be!
I sleep through the night for a full eight hours now, but it took some practice—and several important meetings with management. I firmly believe we should sleep in the same place, and your space always looks suspiciously like the spot I was meant to occupy. Don’t worry, I’m happy to let you borrow the edge. However, around 7pm please know that you and I will need to snuggle up close while I fall into a nice puppy slumber on your chest.
I haven’t met a cat yet, so I can’t promise I’d know the proper etiquette right away. “Gentle” is still a work in progress—I currently prefer the enthusiastic, full-body approach to friendship—but with patient introductions and a little coaching, I bet I could learn! I’d probably love kids too, especially older ones who are sturdy, playful, and won’t mind that my affection sometimes arrives at puppy speed.
So if you’re looking for a companion that snuggles as much as she eats, let’s pencil me into your schedule! Apply to meet me here: https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

7. Shia
Young (9 months) · Female · Belgian Shepherd Malinois / Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat) · 49 mi from Ogden

Meet Shia
Shia is a 10-month-old Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix who is currently around 48 pounds. She is a little on the thin side right now, so we are working on putting some healthy weight on her. She is also working on house training and isn’t quite there yet, but she is making great progress. She does really well in her kennel and is learning more every day.
Read more about Shia
Shia is seriously the sweetest, goofiest girl. She loves other dogs, is friendly with people, and would love a home that can continue helping her build her confidence. She can be a little leery of new things at first, but once she gets comfortable, her sweet and goofy personality really comes out.
Malinois are a different kind of dog, and anyone interested in Shia should understand the commitment that comes with the breed. They are extremely intelligent, high-energy dogs that need consistent training, structure, mental stimulation, and exercise. This is not a “one walk a day” kind of dog. Shia needs someone who is ready to put in the time and continue working with her.
With the right person, Malinois and Shepherds are incredibly loyal and make amazing companions. Shia has so much potential and is at the perfect age to learn and grow with her person. She just needs someone willing to give her the structure, confidence, training, and love she deserves. Apply today at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

9. Big Boy Boston
Male · Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat) · 49 mi from Ogden

BIG BOY BOSTON IS READY TO FIND HIS FOREVER FAMILY!
Okay, friends… we think it’s finally time to find our sweet, goofy foster boy, Big Boy Boston, his forever people. And honestly, writing about him is hard because there are approximately 47 stories we could tell you about this lovable goofball.
Big Boy Boston is around 8 years old, 75 lbs, and a Lab mix… with some SERIOUSLY big genetics somewhere in that family tree. Great Dane? Great Pyrenees? Your guess is as good as ours! He’s tall, lanky, and completely adorable. A DNA test would definitely be fun!
Read more about Big Boy Boston
Despite his size, Big Boy Boston is convinced he belongs in your lap. He LOVES cuddling, prefers being the little spoon, and has never heard of “personal space.” Cheek-to-cheek is his preferred arrangement. If he’s not beside you, he’s probably watching you from across the room like you’re the most interesting thing in the world.
Big Boy Boston is also just FUN. He loves playing with other dogs, showing off his zoomies, greeting his people like they’ve been gone for years, and going on adventures. Car rides? YES! Home Depot trips? Absolutely! Meeting new people? His favorite! He’s great with dogs, cats, and kids.
And this boy is SMART. Maybe a little TOO smart. He’s technically crate trained… except he considers every crate a puzzle designed specifically for him. He has escaped every crate he’s been in. Houdini better watch his back!
Big Boy Boston has a history of separation anxiety, but his foster family has worked incredibly hard with him, and he has made HUGE progress. He can now be left alone for several hours when other dogs are around. His ideal home would be one where his people aren’t gone for long stretches, OR where he has a confident canine friend (or two!) to keep him company.
He’s about 90% potty trained, could stand to gain a few pounds, and has one VERY important dietary need:
BIG BOY BOSTON IS ALLERGIC TO CHICKEN.
His forever family MUST feed him a chicken-free diet. Most importantly, Big Boy Boston is a big, goofy, incredibly loving boy who simply wants to be part of his people’s lives. We’ve watched him grow in confidence and show us more and more of the amazing dog he is. We’re looking for the person who looks at this giant, lanky, crate-escaping, cheek-to-cheek cuddle monster and says: “Yep. That’s my dog.”
Think Big Boy Boston might be your guy? Apply here: https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Not quite the right fit? PLEASE SHARE! We know his people are out there somewhere.

Looking for the perfect Pyr? Well Princess comes close! Surrendered for being a bit of a wanderer, what Pyr isn't?! Princess hasn't met a person or critter she doesn't like, so far!
We were told this lovely lady has been around cats, goats and chickens and only been an outside dog, but we are not looking for a working home for her. Since coming to rescue she enjoys being inside, sheltered and getting as much affection as possible!
Princess is a huge favorite when she goes to visit the senior center. She is calm and gentle with everyone she visits.

I’d love an outdoor location to RUN through rehearsals and where I can do my private business (100% potty trained), a warm minky to lay my handsome sleek coat at night. Cast members supply props (TOYS) to gnaw on in the lazy afternoon hours of editing film. You can expect plenty of down time but will be expected to rehearse “the walk” scene once daily. Practice makes perfect, and I’ve almost mastered this stunt.
How will I handle stardom? I live a quiet life and prefer to keep my community familiar. It's likely as I gain more experience I may become more outgoing. Four legged co-stars are great, I haven't met one I didn't work well with.
Compensation:
You can expect a lifelong commitment of loyalty, endless hours of staring into my big brown eyes, and willing to snuggle anytime.

12. Spatula
Adult · Male · Unknown breed (short coat) · 49 mi from Ogden

Hi! I’m Spatula and before you scroll past me because of my 72 pound resume… just know that size definitely does NOT mean I’m too big to be a lap dog. I will happily squeeze myself onto your lap and somehow convince you that I fit perfectly.
I am the happiest boy you will ever meet! My favorite thing in the whole world is being with my people. When I meet someone, I get so excited that I love to “talk” to them, which can make me seem like a super loud dog at first. But don’t worry, that’s just my enthusiastic way of saying, “HI! I’M SO HAPPY TO MEET YOU!”
Read more about Spatula
I’m basically up for anything if my humans are involved. Want to play with toys? I’m in! Want to play my favorite game ever CHASE?! Say less! Want to go for a car ride, walk, or run? LET’S GO! I’m still working on my leash manners, but I’m learning!
And treats? Ohhhh yes. I already know sit, lay down, and shake, and I’m always happy to show off my skills for a snack.
But if you really want to see me light up, bring on the WATER! Pool? LOVE IT. Lake? OBSESSED. Sprinklers? YES. Hose? ABSOLUTELY. If there is water involved, you can count me in!
As for other dogs, I’m more of a “we can be roommates, but you don’t have to be my wrestling buddy” kind of guy. I’ve met dogs of different sizes and ages and can easily coexist with them, but I don’t quite understand the whole play wrestling thing. I’m perfectly happy doing my own thing alongside another dog or, if you’d rather have me all to yourself, I’d be just as happy being your one and only!
I’m also fully potty trained and can be trusted loose in the house while my humans are away. I’m such a good boy!
My dream family is someone who wants a dog they can take on adventures, play with, and then come home and cuddle on the couch with. I want to experience all the fun life has to offer, but at the end of the day, I mostly just want to be wherever my people are.
So if you’re looking for a 72-pound lap dog, adventure buddy, water loving goofball, and professional cuddler… I think we should meet. apply to meet

Adopting a large dog in Ogden
Large dogs need room to stretch out and plenty of exercise: at least one good walk a day, and a secure yard is a bonus. Check your lease too, as some landlords limit the size or breed of dog.
Start training from day one. A big dog who walks nicely on a leash and doesn't jump up is a pleasure to live with, and many rescues can recommend a local trainer.
