1. Ripley

Puppy (3 months 28 days) · Female · Great Pyrenees / Husky (medium coat) · 8 mi from Salt Lake City

When we saw this sweet girl being rehomed on FB as a Husky, we knew we could see Pyr in her too and wanted to get her into rescue where she'd find a forever home. Little did we know then that she's already seen at least 3 other homes.

Ripley has moved so much already that she hasn't had anyone work with her on just the basics. So now that she's in a foster home we can start that! House training and basic manners are a work in progress.

She has had no shots so leashed walks have to wait. She is full of energy though like all puppies are and would likely really love another dog to play with.

Ripley is incredibly sweet and loves people. She is being fostered in Utah.

9. Bella

Puppy · Female · Australian Shepherd / Mixed · 5 mi from Salt Lake City

Meet Bella! ❤️Bella is a 18-week-old Australian Shepherd/working breed mix who currently weighs 25 lbs. She’ll likely be a medium-sized dog, around 35–40 lbs when full grown, though that’s just an estimate. She’s a sweet, energetic puppy who loves everyone she meets and is always ready for pets, playtime, and cuddles. Just be prepared for a little kitchen helper who may try to put her paws on the counters!Bella would love a home with another playful dog or a family ready to keep her busy with plenty of activities, exercise, and mental stimulation. She enjoys playing with dogs her size but can feel intimidated by bigger dogs.

Read more about Bella

A fenced yard would be ideal, though apartment life could work with consistent leash training and enough exercise. She’s still building her confidence and learning the ropes of being a dog. When something feels new or scary, she likes to tuck herself between your legs for reassurance. She’s learning to walk on a leash and becoming more independent as she gains confidence. With patience, positive reinforcement, and continued training, she has the potential to become a wonderful adventure buddy!Like any puppy, Bella is still working on her manners. She’s nearly through the teething stage and needs guidance toward appropriate chew toys instead of people. She enjoys both soft and hard things to chew, and she’s recently discovered how fun balls can be! She’s even learning to bring them back. The good news? Bella is picking up house training quickly and is already about 98% there! She may still have an occasional accident if left unsupervised too long, so she’ll need frequent potty breaks and supervision as she continues learning. She does well in her crate when you leave the house and will sleep in it through the night, letting you know if she needs to go outside. Of course, she’d much rather snuggle up with you, even if that means sleeping right on top of you at first!Bella is a bit of a Velcro puppy who loves being close to her people, but she’s also learning to explore the world on her own. She has the perfect combination of playful energy and serious snuggle-bug potential. Her experience with children is unknown.Bella is looking for someone who will help her grow into the confident, well-mannered dog she’s meant to be. With love, training, and a little patience, this sweet girl could become your favorite hiking buddy, playmate, and couch companion. She’s ready to love hard, play hard, and find her very own soul person! ❤️Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $300. Read more about Morticia Marshmallow

I’m already a big girl who is proudly kennel trained, knows how to use the doggy door, and is getting really good a potty training. I’m still learning my puppy manners, but I am highly food-motivated. Bring on the tasty treats, and I’ll learn any trick you want to teach me!

A quick puppy disclaimer: I am still navigating my teething phase and tend to nibble when I’m excited, so I would do best in a home without very young children while I learn my boundaries.

20. Cremini

Puppy (4 months 12 days) · Male · Miniature Pinscher / Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Salt Lake City

Hi, I'm Cremini! And Yes, I'm Adorable. You're Welcome.

Hi! My name is Cremini, and I’m a 5-month-old Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix. I currently weigh about 10 pounds, but I’m working on becoming a very impressive 15–20 pounds of pure awesomeness.

I should probably warn you right away: I have ENERGY. Like… a lot of it. I have places to go, things to investigate, toys to play with, and important puppy business to attend to! I’m pretty sure my foster mom has considered installing a speedometer on me.

I’m also a pretty independent guy. I don’t need to be carried around like a baby all day—I have stuff to DO! But once I’ve gotten all my wiggles out and completed my regularly scheduled puppy shenanigans, I’m perfectly happy to snuggle with my people. Yes, I contain multitudes.

I’m doing pretty well with my puppy skills, too! I know how to use a dog door, and I’m still working on this whole potty-training thing. I mean, I’m only 5 months old. Give a guy a chance! I also sleep quietly through the entire night in my crate, because even professional zoomie experts need their beauty sleep.

I think I’d really like having another dog sibling in my forever home. Someone who enjoys playing, wrestling, chasing, and generally being adorable would be pretty awesome. Bonus points if they’re willing to teach me some of their best tricks!

So, if you’re looking for a little guy who is fun, playful, independent, snuggly, and just the right amount of ridiculous, I might be your guy. I promise to keep you entertained, keep you moving, and eventually—when I’m completely exhausted—let you cuddle me. But only after the zoomies. Obviously. Love, Cremini CEO of Zoomies & Part-Time Cuddlebug

21. Abbey Ann

Puppy (6 months) · Female · American Pit Bull Terrier / Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Salt Lake City

Adventure guide wanted!

Hi there! My name is Abbey Ann, and I'm looking for an adventure buddy!

I am 7 months old, a cattle dog/bully mix, currently 32lbs and expected to top out around 40lbs when I'm full grown. I'm a short girl with cute, stubby legs. My zest for life is my hallmark - matched only by my cute face!

I am smart and fun and I have so much to offer my forever family!

I'm looking for people who appreciate a dog with a big brain and a lot of energy. I'm a happy, loving puppy - and I've already got skills to share!

Read more about Abbey Ann

I've already mastered walking on a leash, sleeping in my crate, playing with other energetic dogs and only using the facilities outdoor. I'm also a pro at using the dog door, chasing balls and finding my own toys to entertain myself.

ow, unfortunately, like many super intelligent dogs, if I am not directed with a job to do or an activity to be involved with, I can be destructive. When engaged with my human and with the other dogs, I will treat all of your possessions with respect. I am also happy to be left in my crate when you are away - to keep all those important things safe from my undirected energy.

I adore people and other dogs and would be happy to have a big family to love. I am currently living with five other dogs and get along with all of them. I also get along and love my seven-year-old human foster brother. My foster mom says that I am the sweetest easiest dog as long as I know what I'm expected to do and I get sufficient exercise.

If you think you might be the adventure guide for me, please apply at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

Adopting a puppy in Salt Lake City

Puppies usually go to their new homes from about eight weeks old, once they're weaned and have had their first vaccinations. Most rescues spay or neuter them before adoption, or include it in the fee.

Ask the rescue how big the puppy is expected to grow and which breeds they think are in the mix, so you can plan for the dog they'll become.

Puppies need a lot of your time: house-training, a few minutes of training every day, several small meals, and someone home often enough to let them out. A puppy class is a good way to start.
