1. Josie

Puppy · Female · Chihuahua / Pug (short coat)

Welcome Josie to CCPAL Rescue. Josie is a Chug (Chihuahua/Pug) puppy. She weighs 4 pounds and is 9 weeks old. She will be a small dog full grown. She should be 12 pounds or less. She is very sweet and has an adorable rounded head. She likes to be held, is good in a crate, goes on a wee pad and loves to play with toys. She was born at the Rescue. They took in a stray female and she was pregnant. This means the puppies get lots of attention and are very used to being in a loud and rowdy environment. Josie would be best in a home that the person doesn’t work all day every day. She needs to finish up her puppy training. Social pups make great adults and now is the time for her to spend time with her family and to go places and let people pet her. She is an AMAZING puppy. She would be fine with children. Due to her small size, we would like children to be 8 or older. She is getting her puppy vaccines and will have 3. She will then be ready for spay and adoption. She can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.

Puppy · Male · Dachshund / Chihuahua (short coat)

Welcome Dudley to CCPAL Rescue. Dudley is a 5- pound Chiweenie. That is Dashchund/Chihuahua. He is 10 weeks old. He has a beautiful fawn and black fade coloration. He looks like Bonnie but he is a little taller and has down ears. He has a little longer legs and body. He is good in a crate, likes to be held. He is learning the wee pad and gets toys and treats from our adopters. He will get grooming and nail trims at the rescue so he will be fine with that. He would be a great dog for a lover of this breed. A smaller yard would be fine. He would be fine in a doggy daycare as he is very social. He was found as a stray. He is getting neutered and all his vaccinations at the Rescue. He is ready for his forever home. He would be best in a home with someone that doesn’t work all day everyday as he will need to finish up his puppy training. He would also be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She would be fine in a doggy daycare as she is very social. Right now, I would say she is very sweet and very cuddly. People who have had this breed love it for the loyalty to their human. 9. Blanca

Adult · Female · Rat Terrier (short coat)

Welcome Blanca to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 2 year old Rat Terrier mix. She came in from a hoarding situation. We received 3 dogs from this case. One was adopted already and one had to go to a specialized trainer in another Rescue. Blanca has started opening up and allowing people to pet her and hold her. She never got any attention in her original home, the hoarder. She is good with other dogs and causes no issues. She is kennel trained and her response to being afraid is to run and hide. She is a timid girl and not the social butterfly. She would be perfect with a person that is more introverted and wants a pet that is also similar. Blanca would be satisfied being at home with you all the time. A small walk in the yard would be fine. She until now, has not walked on leash. She is learning to do it at our Rescue. She would like a patient owner and a quieter home. An older couple or older single person would be great. Someone with a quieter home. She would be fine kenneled away if you had a party or people over. She is not very vocal and prefers to blend into the woodwork. She is really a great dog for the right family. She is getting her vaccinations, nail trims and will be spayed soon and ready for her forever home. She could be adopted locally in Texas or we could work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. . Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.

10. Daisy

Adult · Female · French Bulldog (short coat)

Welcome Daisy to CCPAL foster program. Daisy is a 4-year Frenchie (French Bulldog). She has been a breeder dog and the breeder is no longer going to use her so she is now looking for her forever home. This awful in our eyes, but we are happy to find Daisy a real forever home where she can be loved and cherished and doted on. She is a wonderful dog. She is good with other dogs, potty trained, not too active, not too vocal and does good with children. She is getting her spay surgery with CCPAL. She is current on vaccinations and will also get her heartworm test. She has lived in a house so she knows the rules and structure of living with a family.

Read more about Daisy

She is beautiful inside and out and we cannot believe anyone could give up a dog this fantastic. We would love someone that knows this breed. She has the shortened nose so this breed cannot tolerate heat well. Anyone that has had a Frenchie knows this. She would be fine with a moderately active family. She can go with children as well. We like them to be 8 or older. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can work with one of the wonderful transporter to help her get to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. 11. Cleo, a small 1-year-old Jiggy

Adult (1 year 6 months) · Female · Italian Greyhound / Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

THE VIP EXPERIENCE: Are You Ready to Be Cleo’s "Chosen One"?

If you love a dog who makes you work just a little bit for her affection—knowing the payoff is a fiercely loyal, snuggly best friend for life—Cleo is looking for you!

Read more about Cleo, a small 1-year-old Jiggy

Meet Cleo, a breathtakingly unique, pocket-sized "Jiggy" (Jack Russell Terrier / Italian Greyhound mix). Cleo isn't a dog who hands out her love to just anyone on day one. She doesn't do superficial greetings or fake enthusiasm for strangers. Cleo is an exclusive-membership kind of girl. But once you earn her trust and cross that velvet rope into her inner circle? A completely different side of her blooms, and she will shower you with her entire heart!

We’ve leaned a bit too much into her "independent, cat-like" description in the past, but make no mistake: Cleo is a deeply loving, velcro-loyal dog once she knows she's safe. She is ready to find that one special soul person who appreciates a sensitive, brilliant little dog.

✨
The Cleo VIP Perks (Once You're Selected):

The Ultimate Snuggle Buddy:
When she decides you are her safe haven, Cleo transforms into an absolute lovebug. She will curl up as tightly as possible against you, shower you with kisses, and soak up every bit of one-on-one couch time.

The Terrier Spark:
She has that fun, confident Jack Russell personality wrapped in an elegant, sensitive Italian Greyhound body. She loves structured games and dedicated quality time with her favorite human.

Polite & Family-Friendly:
Cleo does really well with children! They just need to understand her VIP status: introductions should be calm and quiet, allowing Cleo to approach them at her own elegant pace.

Cleo's Perfect Sanctuary:

A Peaceful Household:
Because of her sensitive Italian Greyhound roots, she thrives in a low-traffic home. Her behavior consultant recommends giving her a designated "safe suite"—a cozy crate with plush bedding or a quiet corner where she can take uninterrupted royal naps.

Dog Dynamics:
She happily coexists with dogs her own size, but she does have that confident Terrier leadership spark and prefers to be the dominant female queen of her castle.

The "Staycation" Lifestyle:
Cleo gets a little carsick and nervous at the vet, so she prefers a homebody lifestyle. She’s looking for a family who will keep car trips short, use natural calming wraps, and plan fun activities right at home or in the yard.

Cleo is healthy, spayed, and waiting for the right patient match to change her life. If you want the deep, unmatched reward of being a sensitive dog's absolute favorite person in the world, apply for Cleo today!

12. Pickles

Female · Staffordshire Bull Terrier / Black Mouth Cur (short coat)

Welcome Pickles to CCPAL Rescue. Pickles is a 2 year old. She is a small Terrier/Black Mouth Cur is our best guess. She is a medium sized dog that weighs 28 pounds. She is full grown and she was found on the streets with her puppies. She is a great momma dog. She is friendly to people she knows and trusts and warms up slowly to new people. She will be a great alert dog for an older couple or someone that is home alone and wants to feel that the dog has your back. She has never shown aggression but she does bark when things are out of the ordinary or someone she doesn’t know has arrived. She would be best for at least a moderately active family. I would think someone with a more quiet home that wants a loyal companion to join the group. She has a short coat and not a huge shedder. She is good with other dogs and has been off leash with a number in play groups here at CCPAL. She can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. She is getting spayed soon, all her vaccinations, heartworm negative and will be ready for her forever home in a week or two. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.

13. Maverick

Adult · Male · Chihuahua / Dachshund (short coat)

Welcome Maverick to CCPAL Foster Program. Maverick is a 4-year-old Chiweenie. He weighs about 19 pounds. He is good on a leash, good in a car. He is potty trained and very loyal to his person. He knows “go for a walk”, “stop”, “leave it”, “It’s the neighbor” and a few other commands. He is in a home and the owner is having some very big financial issues and need to find Maverick a new home. Maverick has some allergies to food and the food that he can is a Duck and Potato kibble. He has some allergies to grass. He has taken Apoquel successfully to handle the allergies. He warms up slowly and is very loyal and bonded once he has bonded. He would be great for a senior couple or single wanting a companion. A nice yard for him to get exercise in would be nice or someone that could have the time to take him on a couple of walks would be great. He isn’t the social butterfly that some dogs are so a matching owner would be the best fit. He would be a great dog to alert you to someone at the door or something being off in the environment. He is good on walks and would help a senior be more active. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. He could go with children but we would like them to be teens. I think a quieter home would be best for this boy. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.

14. Priscilla Prissy

Puppy · Black Mouth Cur / Labrador Retriever (medium coat)

Welcome Priscilla “Prissy” to CCPAL Rescue. Priscilla is a 10-week-old sweetie. Lab/Black Mouth Cur mix is our best guess. She should be a medium sized dog 28 pounds or less. He is sturdy and has longer legs then her stubby legged brother. Her mom is Pickles and she is also medium sized. She is getting lots of attention at the Rescue and she is social, good with other dogs, good in a crate, learning wee pad manners and is over all a very nice puppy. The kennel staff usually bathe and clip toenails on a regular basis as well. She will be fine with grooming. She has a soft fluffy coat and adorable expressions. She was found as a stray with her mom who is Pickles. She is getting all 3 sets of his puppy vaccinations and will be spayed soon. She can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Prissy would be fine in a family with children. We like them to be 8 or older. A puppy is always best with someone that is not gone all day every day. A puppy needs to bond with his humans and to go places to remain and grow up to be a well-rounded dog. Priscilla will also need to finish her puppy training. She would be great in a doggy daycare as she gets time playing off leash with other puppies her size. Her adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.

15. Toby

Adult · Male · Chihuahua / Dachshund (short coat)

Welcome Toby to CCPAL Rescue. Toby is a 6-year old Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix). Toby lost his owner in death and the immediate family live on a farm with farm animals. They worry about his safety with those animals so they turned him over along with another dog for rehoming. We are happy to have Toby. He is outgoing, good on a leash, good with people including strangers. He weighs 13 pounds and is potty trained. He is learning to be crated and is a lovely dog. He will be with us while we look for his new forever home. He is neutered and will get all his vaccines all current while he awaits his new family to fall in love with his photo and video online.

He is good with other dogs and would be fine with another dog or as an only dog. He is here in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washinton, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. He would be fine with a moderately active family and would be a great companion for a walker. He loves to walk. He would also be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. 16. Johnny

Young · Male · Pug / Mixed (short coat)

Welcome Johnny to CCPAL Rescue. Johnny is a 7-month-old Pug mixed pup. He is a beautiful tan color with a black muzzle. He has an underbite and a shortened nose. He is a bigger-sized boy pup in the liter. He weighs about 15 pounds now and will be a small dog full grown. He has an adorable underbite and is great with other dogs. He is active but not over the top. He has the curly tail like the traditional pug but maybe the curl is less tight. He is a laid-back boy and was easy to take photos with. They all have curly tails and the round adorable heads. Johnny is one of two boys in the litter. He was the last puppy to come out of his kennel as he was enjoying his nap.

Read more about Johnny

He was very workable and stood still and sat willingly on the table for the photo shoot. They are all affectionate and cuddly. They are very playful with their siblings. Johnny is social and would be a great dog to take to the local coffee shop. He loves all people and is call in loud situations. They go on a wee pad but are not fully potty trained. They are good in a crate and are getting regular attention and love at the Rescue. We don’t have the privilege of adopting out many pugs. We are excited to find the pug pups their forever home. We would love pug people for these pups, as they know the breed most. They will be spayed and neutered and ready for their forever home soon. Someone that doesn’t work all day every day is the best candidate for a puppy. These pups would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older as these pups are small and very trusting of everyone. Johnny is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. 17. Sean

Young · Terrier / Dachshund (short coat)

Welcome Sean to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 10-pound small Terrier/Dachshund mixed pup. He is 4 months old. His mom is Monica. Monica was on the street as a stray. We took her in to find out she was pregnant. The puppies were born in our Rescue. They have gotten lots of interaction. They are very social and friendly. Sean is one of the middle- sized boy pups. He looks the most similar to his mom. He is good with other dogs and loves to play in the water. He is cute and has the most adorable expressions. He likes being held and is very trusting of all people. He should be 15 to 18 pounds is our best guess full grown.

Read more about Sean

He should be small enough to take with you in a doggy sling or bag. He is a fun pup to pet because of his coat. He is full of personality and very good with his litter group. He goes on a wee pad and is good in a crate. He likes all people and is not shy around strangers. Her mom is 15 pounds. Our guess would be 10 to 12 for him. He is not a big shedder. He will make some lucky family a good pet. Anyone who adopts a puppy should not work all day every day because a puppy needs to be with their family and not home alone all day. He needs to finish up his puppy training. He will be a great dog for a social person wanting a matching puppy personality. He would be fine in a smaller condo size yard. He would be fine with other dogs. He can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is getting neutered, vaccinated and he will be ready for his forever home. He missed out on early puppy socialization, but he has an intense curiosity about the world and a deep desire to connect with humans. He is looking for a patient soul to show him that life is one big, safe adventure!

We want to make sure Cody’s gentle nature shines through—there is nothing sweeter than watching a quiet dog learn to trust you, especially when he starts taking treats right from your fingers!

✨
The Cody Experience (The Perks of a Sensitive Soul):

Fiercely Curious:
Cody loves a good routine! He loves listening to a gentle voice, sniffing out new areas, and figuring out how things work from a safe distance.

A Total Sweetheart:
He is incredibly gentle. He has already learned to love hands-on touch from his trusted rescue family and will happily lean in to let you stroke his face.

The Perfect Shadow:
Cody is a "follow-the-leader" type of guy. He uses his canine friends as a security blanket, copying their good behavior and using their confidence to build his own.

Cody's Blueprint for the Perfect Life:

A Built-In Mentor:
Cody absolutely must live with another dog. He relies heavily on a confident dog friend to show him the ropes. You can adopt him with his brother Charlie for an instant package deal, or he can join a home with your existing friendly dog!

No Small Pets:
Thanks to that classic Dorgi prey drive, Cody needs a home with no cats or pocket pets, please!

To make sure you hit the ground running, the rescue team will be right by your side with specialized training guides, tips, and ongoing phone and email support to ensure your transition is a beautiful success.

20. Daisey Mae

Puppy · Female · Chihuahua / Dachshund (short coat)

Welcome Daisey Mae to CCPAL Rescue. She came in with her mom Layla. We think her breed is Chiweenie. She is 13-weeks old and she weighs about 5 or 6 pounds. We think full grown would be 25 pounds or less. She is beautiful and looks a lot like her mom. She was fun to take photos of at the photo shoot. She is good in a crate, good with other dogs, playful and sweet. She is smart and trusting of people. She would be great with a family that is moderately active to highly active. She would be best with someone that is not gone all day every day and can spend some time with their puppy to keep her social and to finish up her puppy training.

Read more about Daisey Mae

She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older as older children can be taught to respect and be careful with their dog. She is sturdy and would make a great walking companion. She is social and would be fine taking her out places that have lots of people or a doggy daycare. She is up on her vaccinations and will be spayed soon and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. 21. Foxy Lady

Young · Female · Corgi / Cairn Terrier (medium coat)

Welcome Foxy Lady to CCPAL Rescue. She is a Corgi/Cairn is our best estimate on her breed. She is 15 months old. She has a longer coat and weight about 25 pounds. She should be full grown and if anything may fill out some. She will be a small dog full grown. She is good with other dogs, good in a crate and getting used to Rescue life. She has an adorable underbite and her teeth are in great shape. We think her best home would be with someone who has had a Corgi and has the time to finish her training. I would say moderate to active family is best. She could be with kids. We think 8 or older is best.

Read more about Foxy Lady

She likes the women at the shelter and warms up more slowly to new people. She readily accepts women. She will be worked with on her leash manners and she has ridden in the car without problems. Her best home would be a more quiet one that she can get more one on one attention. She would be great for an older couple, or single person that wants a nice companion. She doesnt seem to be the social butterfly but very content with being home. If you think this sounds like a good fit for you, put in an application. She is a wonderful dog and a head turner for sure. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Welcome Monica to CCPAL Rescue. Monica is a 2 year old Flat Coated Fox Terrier/Italian Greyhound is our best guess. She is a mix of breeds we are sure. She weighs about 15 pounds. She was found on the street big and pregnant. Her pups all look very different. Some are fluffy and some are not. She is a wonderful dog. She doesn’t jump up, is good with other dogs, good in a crate and good on a leash. She is also nice in her kennel and was the very best and most attentive momma. She isn’t very vocal which is wonderful and would make an easy dog to bring into some family. She has weaned her pups and will be spayed soon and ready for her very own forever home.

She does her business outside on a leash and she is just the most wonderful dog. Some dogs are easy in Rescue and she is one of those dogs. She is in Texas with the CCPAL Rescue. Puppy · Cairn Terrier / Chihuahua

Welcome Bitsy to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 5-pound small Terrier/Cairn mixed pup. Her mom is Monica. She was on the street as a stray. We took her in to find out she was pregnant. The puppies were born in our Rescue. They have gotten lots of interaction. They are very social and friendly. Bitsy is one of the smaller pups in the litter. She is full of personality and very good with her litter group. She goes on a wee pad and is good in a crate. She likes all people and is not shy around strangers. Her mom is 15 pounds. We do think Bitsy will be 15 pounds or less full grown. She is not a big shedder.

She will make some lucky family a good pet. Anyone who adopts a puppy should not work all day everyday because a puppy needs to be with their family and not home alone all day. She needs to finish up her puppy training. She will be a great dog for a social person wanting a matching puppy personality. She would be fine in a smaller condo size yard. She would be fine with other dogs. She can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is getting spayed, vaccinated and she will be ready for her forever home. 26. Kota

Young · Male · Labrador Retriever / German Shepherd Dog (medium coat)

Welcome Kota to CCPAL Rescue. Kota is a 1-year-old and weighs 65 pounds. He is smart, social and outgoing. He is the most active of the two in the litter. He is a bit more shy than his brother Tug. He would do great with an active and outdoorsy family wanting a companion that has the stamina and energy to go with you. He got lots of time being held as a puppy so he does love people. Our kennel staff love Kota and he is really doing good with his leash training. He will sit and makes good eye contact. His breed is Lab/German Shepherd. These were in foster care until they were vaccinated and ready to come to the rescue.

Read more about Kota

They have had lots of attention from humans which is wonderful. It creates a wonderful puppy that loves humans and their attention. These puppies are smart, soft coats and most have the lab personality with the smartness of the Malinois. Kota is a smart boy and would be great dog for a man. He would love good direction and someone that is confident. This would allow Kota to let his owner be in charge. Both dogs would be great family pets. They can go with children and should be good with them. We like the children to be 8 or older. Young dogs are best with people that are home some and not gone 8 hours every day to work. Tug will need to finish up his training, and it would be best if he gets to spend time with his human so he can bond deeply with them. He does not mess up his kennel and goes in his outside kennel to go to the bathroom. Kota is playing in his play group of 6 puppies. The boys are all bigger than the girls. He also gets to play outside in his play group and does well in a group. He has good recall when he is off leash and likes treats. These puppies have webbed feet and should be good swimmers.
