The Little Guild of St. Francis: 10 Dogs and Puppies for Adoption
By Dogs of the Day · Updated

The Little Guild of St. Francis in West Cornwall, CT has 10 dogs and puppies up for adoption. Here are all 10, each with photos, their story and how to get in touch.
Right now that's 2 young dogs, 3 adults and 4 seniors.
1. Luna
Adult (7 years 5 months) · Female · Husky (medium coat)

This gorgeous girl has a beautifully calm and sweet temperament! You would never guess her age by looking at her and she loves going for long walks and hikes in any weather. She adores her tennis balls and plays like a puppy when you toss her one, and she's an angel for grooming and tick checks. She’s not a big puller on leash and she seems like she would do really well with other dogs (play groups soon to come!). Luna really seems to have a great balanced personality with enthusiasm for adventures but also is happy to calmly cuddle on the couch. Come meet her and try not to fall in love with those beautiful blue eyes!

Please note that we are often asked if dogs are "house trained". The dogs are in fact living in a kennel environment during their time with us. Even if they have previously lived in a home and been trained - the stress of the change and the new home can sometimes cause regression and require some additional training. We feel that it's best for all adopters to be prepared for this possibility.
2. Scooter
Senior (10 years 11 months) · Male · Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat)

BONDED PAIR
Read more about Scooter
Scooter is such a happy and friendly little senior man that absolutely loves everyone he meets. He is bonded with his brother Tucker so they are a package deal, but they are a pretty easy duo that would fit nicely into anyone's lifestyle. Even though he’s a quarter of the size as his brother I’d say Scooter is the leader of their mini pack and seems to be a confident little guy. He is nice and calm and would love to cuddle on the couch but he also enjoys his leisurely walks where he can check out all the daily smells. He doesn’t seem crazy about his toys, he mostly just likes to hang out on the back of their chair in their room so if you have a comfy chair with a nice window view Scooter would urge you to come say hello!

3. Tucker
Senior (8 years 7 months) · Male · Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat)

BONDED PAIR
Read more about Tucker
Tucker is your typical happy go lucky yellow lab with 100 lbs of love to give. He is bonded with his brother Scooter who he absolutely loves and gets so excited to see whenever they are apart for a few. They are a package deal but they are both the sweetest senior boys you’ll ever meet. Tucker is in love with his soft toys and likes to carry them around while he happily grumbles and gives you his butt for some scratches. He is very happy to go on his walks so he can “read the daily news” and check out all the good smells. Everyone he’s met has been a new best friend in his eyes and he immediately looks for some good rubs and lovin. Tucker will make a great laid back companion for movie nights and still has plenty of happy energy to keep his new family entertained with goofy play time. Him and his brother are eager to see their new forever home and we can’t wait to see who scoops them up!

4. Roo
Adult (10 months) · Male · Shepherd / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat)

This big goofy love bug really earns his name with that long tail and bouncy happy energy! Roo loves every person he meets and he’ll lean into you for lots of love and cuddles. He may be big but he’s just a silly puppy looking for a new best friend to play with. Despite having a hard life so far being found on the street very underweight and missing some fur he absolutely loves life and is always ready for new adventures! He can keep himself entertained with a soft toy for a while and he is so happy to go for walks and hikes with his people. After play time he would be happy to cuddle on the couch and watch some good TV too. If you’re looking for a goofy active addition to your home Roo would be thrilled to meet you!

5. Dakota
Senior (9 years 1 month) · Female · Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

Dakota is an adorable 9 yr old pocket pity with a sensitive soul looking for her new forever home. She can be a little shy but once she gets to know you she likes to talk to you with little grumbles to let you know she’s excited to see you. She looks great for her age with just a little arthritis in her back hips but she gets around just fine! She would surely love a new couch to curl up on and get some good cuddles from a new loving family. She also loves her tennis ball and will play fetch then come up to you for some good butt scratches while she wiggles it around for you. She’s such a little sweetheart and we can’t wait to see who will take her home!

6. Moose
Young (11 months) · Male · Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

Wave hello to Moose! He is our new handsome, energetic deaf puppy. He is completely deaf so we have been working with him using hand signals which he picks up on very well. You’ll have your hands full with all his puppy energy and zest for life, but he can also be so calm and sweet. He loves to lay out in the grass while you give him all the love and pets, then he’s ready to get back to his adventures. He seems like he would love to play with other dogs and we are hoping to get him in a play group soon. He loves to investigate the woods on his hikes and is always happy to go for a nice walk. Moose is a very special little guy looking for his new forever home and he would absolutely love to meet you!

7. Lulu
Senior (9 years 11 months) · Female · Chihuahua / Pug / Mixed (short coat)

Lulu may be older but she is a little bundle of energy and enthusiasm! She is always ready for a walk or some lovin from her Little Guild friends, and can barely contain her excitement for whatever activity you may have planned for her. She seems like she would always want to be by her new forever family's side and would be the best friend you’ve ever had! All she wants is a loving home so come meet her quick; she is not a fan of waiting!

8. Sadie
Adult (3 years 3 months) · Female · Staffordshire Bull Terrier / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

Sadie is a sweet lady that loves to meet new people. Since she’s a bit on the bigger side and is still working on her jumping habit she would probably do best with children 12 and up. She might be a little overweight but she doesn’t let it slow her down! She loves to go for her walks and is always ready for an adventure. We think she would make a great couch potato for movie nights and cuddles as well. We haven’t had the chance to do a play group yet but she seems dog selective. Sadie would make a great forever friend for a lucky somebody so come meet her and maybe it will be you!

9. Trey
6 Months · Male · Catahoula Leopard Dog / Mixed (short coat)

Trey is the only boy in his whole litter of 6! He is such a handsome little boy and he is so sweet! He’s a little insecure but he just needs a loving home to help boost his confidence and show him the world. Him and his sisters get along very well, and he loves to lay around in the yard soaking up the sun while he chews on his toys. He’s sure to go fast so hurry and come meet this sweet boy!

10. Tootsie
Young (6 months) · Female · Catahoula Leopard Dog / Mixed (short coat)

Tootsie is such a little sweetheart that comes with a condition that just makes her even more special and endearing. Her eyes are slightly deformed (we think it gives her such a sweet face) which results in her having limited vision. She can definitely see to some extent though because she’ll look you in the eye and squint up at you to show you she means no harm! She's a happy little love bug and she doesn’t let her condition slow her down. She’s a little insecure like the rest of her litter but with some love and guidance she’ll learn to be a confident girl. She loves to see her litter mates and she is so happy to be out walking with her people. It’s near impossible not to fall in love with those adorable eyes so come meet her soon before she’s gone!
